i was getting annoyed about mine doing that everytime i need to switch batteries on the nova pro wireless. it would switch everything to whatever audio device and id have to switch it back to my headset manually once it turned back on.
My fix was going into windows settings and theres an option to not allow a audio device to be detected or used by apps. then it wont show up as a playback option and the only the device you want will be in the dropdown menu

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

So i just updated my Steel Sries GG but now it wont connect voice audio to discord. I can hear perfectly fine but no voice audio. Anyone else have this happen. I've gone through all sounds settings for GG, Discord, my computer sound settings, and the advanced setting and everything looks as should. Even tweaked them to see If maybe something had changed but nothing has helped. The only thing I'm getting is a warning on SSGG that says "Routing is not working as expected. Retry or route the audio directly into the app."

I'm a long time steelseries fan and own multiple products but crackling on a $400 headset purely because the software is buggy at window focused moments is crazy.

is there a way to have the audio outputs switch to the headphones automatically when I turn them on? When I first got the Artic Nova Pro they switched seemlessly. Now everytime I use the headphones I have to go to each drop down window an manually select the outputs.

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

I can't remember all the issues I have had, but I'll list common ones I have had/get.

• After a period of time (random timeframe) there will be a constant static sound over audio played through the headset.

• REASON: Nothing online explains it, but I believe it is due to an interference of some sort.

• SOLUTION: Disconnect cable from hub and reconnect

• Can't perform firmware updates

• REASON: Honestly don't know; not faulty cables

• SOLUTION: Instead of the USB A - USB C cable they give you and the software says to use, use a USB C - USB C if you have a port for it on your PC

• Audio/Mic isn't working

• REASON: Super common with all headsets, for me personally, in the SSGG software it was having red writing and exclamation marks saying there were issues. It is due to a setting that is on but should be off

• SOLUTION: Disable "automatic backup device switch"

In regards to the ecosystem, SSGG has so much in it that accounts for the price. Sonar, which is the audio component is super customizable. Multiple outputs you can adjust (Master, Game, Chat, Media, Aux, Mic). They all have presets. For game, there are audio presets made best for that game. I can vouch for this in Rainbow Six Siege, a game where audio is crucial, and using the preset is amazing. I highlight this because I want to point out they aren't all just random/generic presets, they actually work. Same for the other outputs. As for the mic, there are presets there to change your voice, pretty much a voice changer. You can allocate specific software to specific outputs so you aren't always changing between.

The Moments section is great too, it's basically Medal but in SSGG. It can autoclip game events, like, every kill you get or whatever, it will auto clip it for you. You can obviously change that too. It has a built in aim trainer which is really useful although not crazy intricate like aim labs.

The headset audio in itself is the best I have ever had, super clear and vibrant. I doubt there is much better for gaming on the market. If you want music only, it is super good, but there are definitely music made headsets that are better. However, the best all round headset, for gaming, music and other, this headset is the best no doubt.

I love my new Apex 7 keyboard! It feels much better than the K70 Rapidfire. I got used to it instantly, even though I was initially worried. But typing and gaming on it is amazing; everything feels so much smoother. The keys are soft and don’t feel as hard as those on the K70

My arctis 7s were cutting in and out randomly so I just received a new pair of arcis nova 7s. I do not see the various output channels (Sonar Chat/ Sonar Gaming) under the Sonar > Mixer > Playback like I did on the arctis 7s. This means that only aps routed to the Gaming and Chat sections of Sonar will work with chat mix. With the artis 7 I could use Aux and Media with chatmix as well. Is this a known issue or just a limitation of that Arctis Nova 7s? Thanks!

steelseries is the worst brand ever, my apex pro has delayed lighting on all the keys meaning that when i press a key the reactive lighting is happening half of a second later. The keyboard also has 3 keys where the rgb is broken and only displays red. My arctis 7+ has one side where the plastic is broken and the earcuff is falling, There is no warranty... i wouldn't recommend buying steelseries products ever again.
