Well one thing that is worth a note if any SS staff are here. The support team has the same issues as most supports for other companies have. They fail to actually read the ticket and give you a quick answer that doesn't actually resolve the problem. I get you want to go fast, but you aren't going to get $300 from me when the purchase is dependent on the answer I get

Depends what you class as mechanical, they have the same spring like structure as mechanical, but uses light instead of metal touching metal like a mechanical switch

yes and no. depends on your definition. most standard mechanical keyboards have mechanical switches where there's physical electrical contact. the apex 9 is an optical keyboard where the switches just break a light beam and don't electrically connect to the main board.

If I had source code, I would add/change:

Make it modular: If I'm not using features, why have them installed (Mainly 3D Aim Trainer, Moments and Giveaways) or just seperate 3D aim trainer/Moments into a seperate app.
Autoswitch configs based off game: Add the code I've already made, which is all built into the app anyway to change game configs based off open games.
Presets: Add the ability to save presets to the GameDac (They added some Q3 2023 and haven't added more since and no way to add your own) (Only really useful if you use console)
Backup: Add a hierarchy to the backup, so steelseries products end up at the top automatically, and then anything with headset or headphones and then everything else (Would stop a lot of complaining of people saying it's switching to their monitor)
Errors: Actually show error codes on what's making the application hang, whenever it's just infinitely loading.

Would make the app so much better

why isnt there an option in the sonar gg settings to just use your default playback device... why does sonar just override windows sound settings completely with zero integration?

i was sitting here fiddling with my windows and wow sound settings trying to figure out where my sound is going - only to realize that backup device switch, which i've already disabled once, has re-enabled itself, and changed my output device to High Definition Audio Device - which is not even a device, no my sound was just going no where

and i cant just not use the software, since without it, my headphones sound like they're at about 10% volume

oh and if you adjust a sound setting in the volume mixer, that isnt overrided by sonar

so make sure you check your game sound settings, your volume mixer, not your windows sound settings because that does nothing, and make sure your sonar sound settings in the tiny little drop box, are all correct

just to use a pair of fucking headphones

It's most likely not a bug but a wrong setting

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

cause I recently bought a new Aerox 5 (3 days ago) and sadly the B4 button is not working or it's working very delayed. I have it set up as "default" in the engine but for example in overwatch I bound my melee to this button and its not meleeing. It is also not wokring in browser for skipping throught pages (like going back on youtube for example)

Just changed the framerate in game down to 30, which is what I have my settings set to. That fixed it. It functioned the way it is supposed to

I don't want to annoy anyone with this post or I don't want to break any rules with it. I just want to talk about a serious topic that is killing me inside every time when I think about it

Recently, I remembered what a user told me here about SteelSeries (that they have changed). I didn't think firstly big about it, until I discovered the old products SteelSeries used to bring out. A display on a mouse, headphones that goes around your neck, gaming gloves, gaming blue light glasses. I was shocked and surprised at the same time where i saw that SteelSeries really "dared" to do things differently compared to others with such creative and great ideas. And now, almost none of it is left. the biggest focus nowadays from SteelSeries is simplicity and the focus of many groups.

It's just sad to see that. It's like a turn from a creative happy child to a depressed unmotivated adult. That also is left behind from all other brands and almost hasn't anything else that covers their personality (like none other brand made a mouse that has a LED display on it and vibrates at certain times, which made the products of SteelSeries even more unique). Don't get me wrong. I still like their products and going for simplicity doesn't have to mean something bad for 100%. It just takes the space for creativity away. The creativity I miss from their old products.

Plus, the desperation and frustration all of you have and share in here also destroys the faith and happiness I have with SteelSeries. Sure, only because some people don't like something or have issues with something doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to like it. It's your choice. But it paints the bright colors with desperation to a grey picture. The bad things are always the loudest, isn't it right? How funny from life.

I just want to be happy with something I like without getting punched from reality.

I'm not asking for attention or something else. I just want to speak out the package I hold inside me. And if I'm lucky, some of you all can understand what I mean with all this. With that being said. I hope you all have a great time, at least a better one than mine. And you find your own happiness.

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

can someone help me? I have my secund Arctis Nova 5 and with unknown reason they would make verry wierd static noice everytime I try to power them on and conect to the 2.4 abd bluethoot at same time. (I have my phone bluethoot 24/7 on and 2.4 in my pc. when my phone and pc is on, and I power on the headset it will conect to 2.4 and bluethoot but it starts making static noice so I need to switch to bluethoot and back to 2.4 if I want to listen from 2.4 dongle from my pc.) And it is not problem of my model as it is secund time. It works just fine when my phone bluethoot is off.

Aside from connecting my phone via Bluetooth and watching a video the only sounds coming from the headset are when I use the built-in buttons.
