Hey guys. I've just bought a Nova pro wireless headset. I see a lot of people saying they can 'mute' their mic using the 'back' button on the dock. Mine doesn't work. Is there anything I need to do? hello everyone, I have just received my arctis7+ wireless and after some tests I realize that when I turn it off, changing the audio output device does not work, it remains connected while I let the doggle connect to the PC, I have to unplug it so that Windows and Sonar change audio devices.

how can i prevent device fallback from setting my GG audio devices to my speakers and a steam streaming devices instead of my arctis headset

every time I restart it sets it to my monitor's aux output for audio and a random steam streaming aux jack for microphone, and it didn't used to do this before a Windows 11 update. Will they fix that soon or is there something I can do now?

And it works completely fine on their laptop but when on their bigger PC it is like it has a delay on the game valorant and makes the game unplayable. Drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled, software uninstalled and reinstalled, ports changed, windows updated and malware checked.

Is there a proper win 11 Arctis 7+ setup guide? I do not think I have ever set it up right, and I blame all issues on windows, that said why are there so many channels, when there is only 2 that the headset uses? Also as about 2 weeks ago my Discord -> chat channel, drops output volume by 40-60% for a few seconds then it comes back to normal, while this could be hardware failure I still think it is windows, because I have not noticed it with other programs.

Since one of the latest patches, my steelseries headset dont change automaticly in Sonar anymore, used to, but not anymore.
Only have my Actis Pro and Arena 7 enabled in settings.

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar when the current device turns off, or becomes unavailable. For example, Sonar can detect when a Nova headset is disabled, and automatically switch your Sonar output to your speakers.

This functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

Check the external box for a microphone volume, make sure your inputs are set to Sonar - Microphone for everything that needs it, and make sure windows is using the right device for headphones or microphone etc

Please note that analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset. Due to this, analog headsets are not compatible with SteelSeries Engine and will not show up on the device list in Engine.

There is good news, though! Analog headsets can be used through Sonar. Please make sure your Sonar outputs are set to the on-board audio device that is driving the headset. These are usually named "Realtek" or "Intel" depending on your PC.

If you are having audio issues, here's a few steps to try:

• Reseat all cable connections to verify they are fully plugged in. The 3.5mm connection will require that the cable be plugged in fully for correct audio. Make sure all connections are clean and free of dirt. Additionally, please check that you have the correct end of the cable plugged into your PC, as some SteelSeries Nova headsets have unique cables that must have the correct end plugged into the headset.

for the headset, you can try alternative tools like voicemeeter? assuming you're looking for the stuff that comes in sonar. if you just want the basic stuff in engine, the changes in Engine save to the headset, so you can just load GG when you need to make changes and otherwise keep it off.

I have no idea how to get in contact with steel series technical support! I’m a blind user using the screen reader with the entire GG software! And since 39.0 it was very accessible but 40.0 and above accessibility has gone down dramatically. I use steal series GG to enhance audio so I can hear my computer better for enhancing my microphone so others can hear me clearer. Since software version of 39.0, I was able to adjust the equalization band for the microphone, which is no longer accessible to screen reader, there are still some unlabeled buttons, which I have no idea what they do, the equalization for everything else, but the microphone still works,and the accessibility of a screen reader trying to change the option of what the device/preset kicks the screen reader out of that option not allowing me to change the presets/option such as what device I’m using or what preset configuration I would like to use.. When I try to send a technical , even the website isn’t accessible for screen reader user. I am lost and have no other option! Thank you for all the support if anyone can.

yeah mine used to do it because I had a monitor with speakers, so I just uninstalled its driver from device manager. In your case it's something Realtek related so I'm not sure you can do the same fix without breaking stuff

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

it's personal preference. best advice i can give is to set it as low as it can go and then play a few games. if you accidently trigger keys then raise the actuation a little bit and play some more. eventually you'll dial it in.
