Hey Everyone! So I started using sonar with voice mod but I am having the issue of voice echo through sonar but if I dont keep it on then I can't hear the soundboard from voice mod. The option I have chose is to turn down my headset volume which all other applications such as cod or discord chat drowns it out but then the sound board is just barely hearable? Has anyone had this problem or found a good solution. I could have things routed wrong in settings.

There's a "hack" to change the version number of GG so that it thinks it's that version. If you make it super high it won't see newer versions as updates and won't have any updates to offer.

I don't remember which file tho

But make a support ticket on the website if you want help from SteelSeries for it, there's no support staff here :)

you don't. Sonar tries to be helpful by making sure it's always the default device in windows. There have been several feature requests to be able to disable this (including from me), but they haven't done it

I solved my problem. My solution was to just used the literal information that my computer was reading from the 2 microphone jacks and set that to default just so I can get audio. I basically had to "bypass" whatever Steel Series GG wanted me to use for their "defualts". Shitty ass software developers and company

I have to say, the program is really great, it offers something and it's even free. Props to the developers for that, thanks really. But unfortunately SteelSeries GG takes an extremely long time to load, so I'm now uninstalling and reinstalling the program, which is really annoying. Still a great idea etc, but that needs to be fixed.

My hands sweat. I have a SteelSeries Rival 3 and one of your medium sized fabric top +rubber mouse pad. It soaks up my hand sweat during long+stressful play sessions and the Rival3 I have stops tracking. Can anyone recommend the best current mousepad that will not soak up sweat and will allow my mouse to keep tracking? Yes, I currently clean regularly and that doesn't help. I don't want hygiene products, so please don't recommend them.

Right click on the sound icon near the clock on the taskbar there's an option in there to choose which apps use which devices. Make sure those are set properly. There are also many settings in Discord that can cause this and cause game crashes that you should turn off, but I'm not on my desktop at the moment so I can't say exactly what those are. I know I turned off a few and Discord still works just fine. I think one of the settings is experimental and another one is GPU rendering rather than software rendering. Also if you have a headset with audio balancing you may have a channel for chat audio and one for application audio. These show is two separate audio devices for the speakers though the microphone is all the same.

Volume Mixer is the option in taskbar

There is also a default audio device setting in discord too, make sure that is set to your headphones or chat audio device.

You shouldn't have to set every application in Windows, just make sure the default device is set to your game audio device and discord is set to the game/app audio device.

Also, make sure your audio drivers are up-to-date, along with Windows. I had issues on earlier SteelSeries Engine updates. I think some updates, if your app is far out of date, require a complete re-download.

I had to reinstall after turning on Sonar. It was great for directional audio, but I remember having some sort of issue. This may have been the issue I had. I completely removed the audio drivers and Steelseries Engine and reinstalled. There is a toggle in the app, but that didn't work for me when I tried it about 7 months ago.

a coffee mat might work. you might have a hard time finding one the right size. hell, you might have to cut one into quarters and just use it as a mouse pad. but i've seen coffee mats just DRINK a spill.

My steelseries drinks, but I think that is the problem. It changes reflectivity or color enough to throw off the optical sensor. I think I need a coated fabric or something that doesn't absorb. Thanks for the info though, it is appreciated and I'll check into that, to see if it might e an option. I try to dry it when it happens. Happens at the worst times. I grabbed an old comptia book, to see if that would work mid game. Ended up not working, so I threw it aside. The dust on the book actually dried it up for a min (gross, I know lol). I almost thought about powdering the mouse pad after that, but I feel that will lead to a mess and a broken optic on the mouse. I know I don't want a plastic slippery one, but something omewhere in between.
