My $500 headset's mute button is all fucked up suddenly. It keeps flickering on and off, which creates that annoying beep and no one can hear me. I've had it maybe almost a year.

Same goes for my mouse. It suddenly started to disconnect. It's not that it's lost power, it's all lit up. But it just stops responding. I have the cord attached to a cord bungie that helps prevent damage.

I bought a keyboard, mouse and headset all around the same time ($500 headphone and dac, $80 mouse, and i think the keyboard was $100(+), being rough estimates ill round it to $700+), because I like the product and brand. I like how they all connect, but only getting a years worth (if that) does not inspire confidence.

I've encouraged others to buy the products, and told them about all the cool features (I love me some features/gimmicks). But if I can only get 1 year out of them, I am starting to doubt my enthusiasm.

What would you guys like me to do, about this? I am sure I bought warranty on them, but I am not sure the warranty length.

When I was a kid (90s) I remember that it was a problem for things to last about year. Nowadays it feels industry standard, for the sole reason of profit. I am always hoping for a company to prefer honesty and quality over name recognition and profit. To pay more for a better profit and not because of the name of the product. No one I tell, is blown away when I tell them I have steelseries, but I've been trying to change that. I want them to be impressed and/or jealous. But I am embarrassed to tell them that they broke within about a year.

It might be industry standard for most computer peripherals to break within a year, but I want to see a change. I want to see my money go to better quality material not just the sound or feel.

I am not angry with Steelseries about this. I am just upset to be in this situation. I am gonna be honest I didn't really know where to put this, but I wanted to voice my opinion.

Ahh no uninstall needed, for some reason these settings in Sonar were pointing to the wrong device (my audio out on the mobo, not my headset). Changing to this fixed it for me!

I think it's closer to being a replacement from the Arctis 7, since the old A7 was simply a wireless headset with no BT, and that's kinda the same as what the nova 4 is. the current nova 7 is more a replacement for the old arctis 9 since the old A9 had both 2.4ghz wireless and bluetooth.

• the sound was "underwater", i managed to fix that by constantly uninstalling-reinstalling sound drivers
• the mic literally doesnt want to work regardless of how and what i do, but when i plug my hyperx headphone the mic suddenly works, when i put the nova back it doesnt
• i KNOW the cables work, because i changed the bottom cables and the mic still didnt want to pck up any sound

Why does the wireless Nova Pro come with a dac?

Dac's are for wired headphones

it comes with a base station, not a DAC. lots of random people just call it a DAC but I think on all of the product pages about the headset it's just called a base station.

the base station has the transmitter in it, the spare battery charging slot, and a screen for controls. the DAC that comes with the wired headphones does most of the same things (minus the battery/radio) so I think people just mix up the two

i don't know that headset, but if it's a wireless solution the digital to analoug converter is likely inside the headset itself

the transmitter probably just transmit a digital ACC signal to your headset

apex pro has magnetic switches that you can set to trigger at any point in it's range. it also has a few other features related to the magnetic switches like rapid trigger

apex 9 has optical switches that you can set to have a high or low actuation. the switches in the apex 9 are swappable with other optical switches from steelseries.

When loggging into your Steelseries account on the app for Windows 10-11 you must be disconnected from VPN. For those of you on VPN disconnect temporarily log in, and then you are set. The log-on continues after restarting the computer for a whole week before having to log in again. Good stuff.

Ok sir, let me explain what I did. I went to windows search and got into settings, then I went into System, then Sound, then I put headphones sound for Steelseries Sonar - Gaming and for microphone Steelseries Sonar - Microphone.

It should work by default but you have to change your input source for any changes you make on gg to work, you may also have to assign your mic.

That line is the volume of input, so the line will fill up more the louder it is

It is now functioning just like new after drying it out and removing all the keys, then putting them back again. Keyboards are very reseliant to moisture so long as you've let them dry with a fan.
