I was just reading that post to get an idea on what the issue is. I haven’t had that issue with Steelseries but I have had crackling issues with other headsets while using Voicemeeter. My research lead me to believe that there was an issue with bandwidth on the virtual devices however I’m not sure that is the same issue you’re having.

Have you tried using the headphones on another computer to see if the problem follows the headset or if the issue remains with your computer.

Okay so it’s definitely an issue with the headset and may well just be a faulty unit.

How old are they and are you able to return them to the place you purchased them?

Then my final advice to you is to get your parents to help you work out a way to return them if at all possible. It’s a shame yours aren’t working properly. Good luck and try to be nicer to people. They might just be in a position to help you, or at very least try.

Although it really sounds like simple mic bleed, that is usually fixable quite rapidly. I'm sure you've tried the following but just in case:

Make sure the mic is extended all the way out and is placed at the corner of your mouth.

Turn down the volume of whatever is being echoed.

Turn off any "sidetalk" option you might have.

Retest to see if problem still exists.

You've most likely plugged the headset into a dual jack port where the headphones and mic are two separate plugs but the headset uses combo jack where they are combined, so that's why your mic doesn't work.

the Arctis 9 has also dual mode with BT an WIFI. I guess it depends on where you have the dongle plugged in i plugged it in my PS5 and switched the slider on the dongle to PS and its still turned off i am very satisfied now with the headset its the most comfortable headset i ever owned thank you also for your assistance ^^

Most times the audio companies will have a gaming option if u really need that aesthetic

And let’s say u really want virtual surround, use Sonar but I didn’t like it I would recommend getting a soundblaster instead

Soundblaster + proper headset (or condenser mic and good headphones) is what I consider the best experience

If ur budget low just get a decent headset from sennheiser or smth and then use sonar, it’ll be way better than any gaming company headset

The website steelseries.com works to log into fine with my email / and pwd. The application Steelseries GG however, on my Win 11 system will not allow login and mentions wrong username/password.

I was gonna suggest connecting it to the controller with a minijack cable but the plug on the headset is only a share port

If you have a spare headset/headphone that you can plug into the controller you can test if it's a signal issue or headset issue

Since the sound through the controller is the same tech afaik

I think the main issue with the 9X is that it uses Xbox tech without a dongle

So you can't move the transmitter if there's interference etc

I'll say that I have used a dongle-less Xbox headset and I didn't have any issues at all with the connection so I guess it's one of those your mileage may vary situations
