With Sonar on, my download speeds are cut in half if not more. I have gigabit internet (wired), and my speeds are lowered to 300-500mb down with Sonar on. With it off I get my full speed. Why would it be doing that?

Hi Steel, when will you implement HDR game clipping? I had alot of headache 😫 finding a work around.

Anyone that has HDR switched on when clipping/recording your game play using moments will end up with colour distortion, it looks very high contrast when viewing the clip afterwards.

My work around on Nivida GPU,

Goto the NVIDIA Control Panel, select change resolution.

Configure:

use NVIDIA COLOR SETTINGS

Output color depth to 8 bpc

Output color format set to yCbCr422

Output dynamic range shoud be limited

This basically turns off the HDR.

Another work around that worked for me but again no HDR is on, so the colour/details looks bland while viewing clip.

Here's what you want to do in GG...,

under Settings go to Moments.

turn off auto clipping under Auto-Clip

then find or add your game that you want to clip and change the capture to Screen capture.

Hope that helps anyone out there with this similar problem.

Oh and on the second solution I am still able to game play with HDR on but just not clip/record in HDR, that's without configuring my GPU settings as mentioned above.

I don't really give a flying squirrel. It is endorsed by SS. The cool thing is, as opposed to other regions, we in EU have a nice level of customer protection, so this isn't a threat, just a warning. Have you tried any of the troubleshooting for wireless mice? Not just SS but any? Try basic stuff like testing other mice and that one with another pc/laptop/device start with basic troubleshooting and then ask questions based on your results.

Using a Steelseries Arctis 9. In games the sound is great but as soon as I switch voice chat on the sound quality drops considerably

A quick google comes up with this:

“The issue is how Bluetooth headsets work when using the microphone (voice chat). These headsets have 2 modes, stereo mode and hands-free mode. When you are only listening audio and music, it is in stereo mode while good quality audio.

When the microphone is requested, it enters on the hands-free mode, which has a low quality audio, because it is made for calls (that don't need high quality audio).

You can disable the hands-free device on sound settings and use another microphone, but if you use the headset microphone you are stuck with this low quality audio.”

Arctis 9 have a 2.4GHz dongle for connection to PC, it should be in the box of your headset. Use that one instead of Bluetooth and all issues are gone. Windows and Bluetooth are the worst match for sound quality and latency.

Oh yeah, the 9X use an integrated Xbox Wireless transmitter, non the best purchase.

There’s a solution though. There’s a USB dongle for Xbox Controllers on PC, you can use one of those tu connect you headset to the PC as if you would do with your Xbox.

Hey everyone, im having a nightmare with my Arctis 9x. The sound quality is really tinny and im struggling to set it up on Sonar.

In Sonar, when i flip to the 'game' tab, the sound quality is fine, but when i switch to the 'Mixer' tab, the sound goes super tinny and really poor. It happens sometimes in game, or when i join work zoom calls. Anyone know what im talking about?
