I’m sure not the only option, but look into VoiceMeeter. It will take some time fumbling with it but you should be able to route your Sonar to VoiceMeeter then combine the music and mic to the same output. Make the mic go to B1 and have your music go to VAIO Aux and route that B1 as well. Then make VoiceMeeter Output VAIO as the input of discord or whatever you are needing to route to. The mic input into VoiceMeeter will look like “sonar mic” or something like that. You’re gonna be dealing with a lot of virtual input/outputs.

Is Nahimic service something that gets installed when you install SteelSeries GG? I know Steelseries owns Nahimic but I also know it is sometimes installed by other motherboard and computer manufactures. Not imho. I did the exact upgrade you are considering (Arctis Pro -> Nova Pro) and while the headset feels lighter on your head (nice if you're using them for a prolonged period of time), the rest is as best the same and the AMP seems buggy which was never a problem with the Arctis Pro. (buggy: occasional freeze, and seems to require GG Sonar which imho was released before it was done ;)).

One of the big features I was drawn to was the separation, this is my first time outside of Astro headsets in years and the feature I always loved about them was a different audio line for both gaming and chat, so I could turn one down or turn the other. The Arctis Nova 7 has that same feature, and it sold me one, but the setup process is proving difficult and the community support page doesn't seem to be hugely answered. How do you set your Discord settings to make use of it? Right now it's set to Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 (certified), but that's not really solving the troubles.

I'm a noob here. But I understand there is a button on the headset to move the slider between Gaming and Chat (Chatmix function).

Other than that, I use a separate App called "Audioswitch" which allows me via a keybinding to switch between audio devices.
And I see that it now lists 'Sonar - Chat', 'Sonar - Gaming', 'Sonar - Media', etc.. as separate entries. So you might want to look into it if you're unable to make things work within Sonar itself.

Oh! So, the Nova 7 doesn't have that. The Nova 7 has that controller on the side of the headset instead.

Same principle, a circular dial that controls game volume vs chat volume. I just needed (mostly) Discord to pick up that there were a bunch of virtual channels to change between.

nope, you're right. I was mistaken. I was under the impression the station had USB-A connectors. I guess what I did was different. I suppose I connected it to the PC too.

Maybe try a different USB-A port on your PC. Could be a generation issue (USB1.1 vs USB2 vs USB3). Sometimes you have multiple versions of USB ports on a PC with different colors.

before you're asking, yes, it does play a major role since X570 and B550 boards are notoriously picky when it comes to USB. Sometimes they refuse to let certain ports work

its really fun, on max if someone sneezes next to me, or even if i sneeze. the first instance of that happening, someone on the other end with hear the first .1 seconds of it

but then the AI knows to block it, and they won't hear it again.

some with keystrokes, or mouse clicks. They will hear the very first keyboard input of the day if its my first call, then never again.

its the best part of their app imo.

if you use a webphone or streak, or game with people, its really nice.

I even tested it with blue switches on a keyboard, nothing.

by all honesty? I could rant about that USB-C mentality of SteelSeries all day long, because a little example. Imagine you're buying the latest and greatest wireless stuff from SteelSeries. You got a nice headset, a shiny new mouse and a great keyboard. All wireless and here comes the dumb part: You get 3 dongles, all USB-C. But hooooold on. 3 Dongles and all are USB-C? How many USB-C Ports does a usual mainboard have? 2, at best.... That's correct, just 2. Well, you may argue that you get a nice USB-A to C Cable and an adapter, which btw is heavier than most mice SteelSeries is selling lel, but than again. 3 USB dongles, not enough ports on a normal consumer board to connect them all natively
