are you viewing the clips through windows media player/VLC? if so then those apps only play one audio track at a time, so you won't be able to hear the game/chat tracks unless you switch to them

when editing, make sure you have the zones selected (click+drag). I see sometimes people changing the RGB but they didn't select anything

the other common issue is that one of the RGB apps in Engine are turned on (like Discord) and it overrides any RGB settings in Engine/Prism

My original cable started fraying (and so the audio went in one side of my headphones) So I bought a replacement cable on Amazon and it lasted for only a little over a month before it started having the same problem....

I had an issue with my new tkl wireless, i had to get a replacement ordered. Took support 3 days to process RMA , on the way today. Hopefully here by monday 🤞

But my issue, like yours, was very very odd, with the led screen and lighting being completly messed up. I couldnt find ANYTHING online, and nothing i did fixed it. Although it did work for about 3 days perfectly

Why is my arctis 9 wireless just blinking blue when trying to turn on, or charging?

Hi, I'm new here and primarily joined to get some advice. I've had the nova pro wired for a few months now. Somehow people on discord always hear me very softly. I use sonar. Via discord my output volume is at 100%, in steelseries.gg app too. Also via windows. No matter what I adjust, people always hear me very softly. Anyone got some tips to check? My settings in discord are good. As soon as I use to hyper x headphones from my partner, it works perfectly.

I own headsets: Arctis Pro Wireless , Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and Arctis GameBuds. Never happened in Pro Wireless , but happened Nova Pro wireless from time to time even on PC or PS5 and same happened in Arctis GameBuds but in gamebuds I get left earbud disconnected when it happens. I found out the robotic noises only happens on wifi 2.4Ghz and not on bluetooth mode (both PC or PS5). So maybe it will be some interfere with other devices in the room and maybe the wifi 2.4Ghz on new steelseries devices is different than the old ones and have some problem with it... Thats why in the Arctis Pro Wireless never happened. Also I tried this on 3 different pc , with or without sonar , with or without steelseries GG app , having default sound and not mixed or tweaked and had the same results

yea I ll do that test.. Disable your wifi signal completely (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) and test if you are getting robotic noises in various app (browser apps/spotify/discord/different games etc.)

Yeah so turns out the router was there from when i used wifi connection on my PC. I now use ethernet so i just unplugged the router and gonna try it out and see if it helps

hello, i just bought the arctis nova pro wireless, i have been using the wired version for a couple years. my gamedac wont allow me to mute the mic but the mute button does work because i can scroll through and back in the menus. what can i do to fix this?

What do you mean by "my gamedac wont allow me to mute the mic"? You can't mute the mic on the transmitter, you do it on the headset

Hello, my steel series sonar keeps swapping audio output to my speakers whenever when the
headset is off for some reason. so I have to manualy swap it back every time i start my pc or have been away for a while.
what's the fix for this, ive googled that it should be a settig in the sonar section of the app but my only two options there are shortcuts and overlays

don't think it's wiring, Im pretty sure i know what the ''issue'' is just not how to ''fix'' it. apparently sonar have a backup device feature, so whenever the primary device is off, or not working for some reason it automatically swaps to a secondary output device. And that is pretty inconvinient when I have a wireless headset that I have to turn on seperatly and also have a sleep/power-saving mode so so whenever ive turn on my computer or have been away for a while I have to manualy swap device.
I cant find ''device manegment'' in settings my only options (in sonar section) are shortcuts and overlays

So when ur on the home screen you have the diffrent channels, you can see it will say ur headset name (ex. Ss artics 5x) if you click on it it will take you to a device management drop down menu where you can add and remove devices and set up defaults

any steelseries headset should work 100% fine without sonar. you might miss out on some extra features like chatmix or noise cancelling, but the headset should still provide reasonably good audio without it.

I'm about to pull my hair out. Ive got the Nova pros and my mic just stopped picking up in discord yesterday during a chat. My device manager test shows its picking up audio just fine but discord wont pick it up.

I can open the windows sound recorder app and it picks up my voice just fine. It just seems its with discord.

unfortunately no steelseries keyboards support rebinding the media wheel

you might be able to get away with a workaround I posted before using PowerToys to intercept the volume commands and then play a key combo, but that would affect everything that tries to use the volume commands, not just the one keyboard

Hello everyone, when I set up the Base to connect with headphones, I then turn the headphones ON and wait for not even 6, but 10sec. Instead of fast blinking white dot I get normal blinking (between when its ready to pair and when you turn them on).
Don't have a reset button, idk what to do.

Also took out the battery a few times, but it didn't fix the problem. Sometimes, when I put it back, they automatically turn on with slow blinking. Does anyone know how to fix that?

everytime i tried to use the Sonar Audio Drivers Spotify tells me "i cant play this song, if u have it on ...".

Hey not sure if this is right spot to talk about my issue or if i need to actually contact support. I've had the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless headset connected via Virtuoso Wireless Receiver on my PC for almost 2 years now. I control the audio in Sonar with virtual audio devices as recommended. Past few days i've been struggling with either really low or excruciatingly loud volumes. The "game" source is synced with my windows audio which I think is supposed to happen. But it was so loud (unbearable) yesterday even when I dropped it down to 1. I did notice that if i use the volume wheel on the headset itself, it will control the game/windows volume meter, but it's been very jumpy when I adjust it and seems that it will get louder if I keep moving it up even if the volume bar is at 100. Sorry if this is not meant for this channel, just looking for some help on what might be causing this.

On my previous Arctis headset - there were two independent volume wheels - one did master volume - the other let me deafen between discord and PC.. I want to reinstate that vibe with this headset (other one broke 😦 )

on the new headsets you can just click in on the volume wheel to switch between volume and chatmix control. keep in mind that the newer headsets use sonar for chatmix, so you need to have sonar setup and running before these chatmix controls work.

There's only one wheel... when I get Discord to show up in the chat or mic portions of sonar.. discord won't pick up my mic. I can tell it's hearing the other person.. but I can't hear them either. This is what it looks like now. It's the only set up where we can hear each other.. but since discord and edge are on the same spot (game) i can't deafen between chat on discord and my pc. Where am I going wrong?

you should set your discord to output to Sonar - Chat instead of Sonar - Gaming

and also probably set your input to Sonar - Microphone instead of the direct headset mic.

and again i'll mention, yes there's only one wheel, you just physically click in on the wheel (either on the headset or on the base station) and it'll switch the control mode of the wheel from volume to chatmix

Sonar EQ - under each heading (game/chat/media/aux/mic) - the devices selected were set to a random output for some reason. Just Selected the Sonar output i wanted and now it seems to work.

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

If you see the "Sonar did not allow this app to change outputs" error, then step 1 above did not work, and you may need to do step 2 or step 3 to route your audio.

Oky oky, so that means ignore your customers when they ask for help just because they didn't speak to you or ask you through the correct portal or server ? You know some people don't like waiting a week for support to get back to them on a product that costs 200 + also theres nothing to brag about with the support, you cant advertise to your customers that they can speak to a support agent when they in fact just get met with a bot that has the same repetitive questions and with all honesty he aint doing any support other than taking my email and details of the problem and then forwarding that onto a probably massive list of other problems from other people and then thats me waiting a week plus to get help or a replacement for my 200 dollar headset 😁

Ok I have arctic 7 on windows 10, side tone off in the headphone settings (turned off on slider and toggle) , playback turned off in Windows headset properties , can still hear myself. So how do I stop hearing myself in the headset? Keep in mind I bought these pos because everyone said they have some of the best sidetone but the reality is they do not and are so laggy with side tone and unable to turn it down that it's a hinder and not helpful at all. Bluetooth is meant to be used with a phone, you'll get high latency and bad quality on a PC

Especially if the mic is active as it goes into "hands free" mode

You can disable hands free mode but that will disable the mic

Everything ist connected, the beeping sound (like "mute") are working, but no Music, video or gaming sounds are there. In the Sonar Settings, the Sound settings of Windows and in Youtube and Spotify is everything put on max so normaly my ears should hurt, but no sound sadly. Hi i am having an issue with SS where it is interfering with audio within Discord while in streamer mode. I am currently watching my friend streaming a show within a VC and the audio is sputtering/jumping from ear to ear when i have the option for SS selected in the audio section. (the only way to get it to stop is if i have my headphones selected for ouput instead of 'SS chat.'

make sure the noise cancelling in the "chat" output is off, it's really only designed for talking so if you're watching a video then it'll start acting up

Ive Figured out a way to get my Sonar to work: heres how. Note you will have too run stuff as Administrator
ps, I was just clicking around trying to get sonar working while doing this,
this may not work for everybody.

Open Task Manager (As Administrator)

Search for Steel, and in background processes look for Sonar,

If Sonar isn't there, it means it didn’t launch correctly, so close All SteelSeries Related Tasks in task Manager.,

Reopen the SteelSeries GG App (Not the Client), and make sure its run as administrator,

Wait for stuff to load, and Check Task Manager again, Sonar should now appear under background processes after a minute.,

If it doesnt open, repeat steps 1 - 4,

If Sonar is appearing under background processes, Launch the SteelSeries Client(As administrator),

Now if the client is stuck on a loading screen for more than 1 minute:

Close only the client in task manager, then try lanching the client again,

If it keeps getting stuck on the loading screen, steps 1- 5 again

Hey I just got the Arcist Nova 7, I previously had the Arctis 7 back in 2021

My new headset, to put it bluntly, sounds absolutely atrocious - like the quality of a $20 headset. It sounds muffled, tinny, overly bass-boosted, and just wrong. I plugged in my previous pair and the quality difference is staggering.

I have downloaded the Steelseries GG app, and my headphones are on the latest firmware update. I have tried messing with the equalizer, and even using a suggested equalizer on youtube for that specific pair, nothing even comes to the original quality.

Is there some sort of setting or something that might be messing up things? This is honestly beyond frustrating

The DAC itself its the same in both versions, it delivers 24/96Khz (if im not mistaken, i dont remember right) . long story short no, no headset(even with certain codecs) delivers the same quality of audio between wireless and wired, if u use it wired you'll be getting the most of the DAC, but in almost everyday use its not noticeable.

if by any chance you also have signalRGB installed and running. try to quit that app., then run GG. this worked for me

i had to do a complete reset to get everything to run as intended. it's a huge pain with having to redownload everything but that is the only way i got it to work. i tried doing a reset with the cloud reinstall but it kept all the issues so i did a full reset and everything is working fine now.

I just brought the SteelSeries arctic nova pro wired head phones with the game dac but I didn’t realise that I needed to get Xbox specific ones!! Would I be able to get these to work with the Xbox? And if not is it just the gamedac that isn’t comparable or the headphones as well?

You can’t get the GameDac to work with Xbox without the Xbox variant but you can plugin the audio cable from the headset into the controller

my suggestion at this time would be to turn off sonar/GG and make sure your headset is working in Windows before you turn Sonar back on. Sonar is not required for the headset to work, and Sonar layers "on top" on Windows audio, so you need to make sure that's working first before getting Sonar going.

The Aux has a weird audio bug, were some Audio does not gets transmitted.
Lets say, there is a video with voice and background audio. Then it can be, that the background audio gets transmitted nearly perfect a bit muted but the voice does not get transmitted at all.

And since it can be "fixed" with turning the physical aux, it is a hardware problem.

And I just found out, my audio is way better with usb + aux connected then only just aux

Hi there. I bought a Steelseries Arctis Nova 5X a day ago. It is very comfortable, sounds awsome and looks nice but I have one minor problem with it. If I enable Sonar then I can hear very subtle crackling sounds or more like it sounds like when there is disturbance in the connection and for a milisec the sound gets bad then back to normal. It only happens when Sonar is enabled. I checked and updated the dongle, and headset via the GG app, also the GG app is up to date. I tried reinstall the software multiple times. I dont have any other headset software installed. I tried with different USB ports, but the only solution is not using Sonar which is kinda bit of a bummer tho I can live without it.

Hello, I downloaded the software yesterday and watched a set up video and everything seemed fine, but apparently the audio is not coming through on the stream.
in the sonar mixer i can here the audio clearly when i listen to what my audience hears but they here no game sound. my mic audio is clear, but the game sound is intermittent. It plays a single audio file to the stream with nothing else, for example, an announcer will be clear but no other game sound is present but its still only for brief moment.

Hi, I will try it again here as well, maybe some of you know a solution for my case.

So I was using the headset for some days now, but whenever I activate Sonar in whicever preset, whicever USB port I am getting these very subtle crackling noises in random times like one in every 1-2 minutes. Its almost non-existent, but you can still hear it especially if you watching for it to happen. Now it only happens if I use the Sonar enabled. When it is disabled the problem disappears. Its an Artcis Nova 5X. Any ideas what I can do aside from:
reinstalling software,
updating drivers and dongle,
uninstalling all of the previous headset programs,
trying the usb c to usb a cable that the headset came with,
trying to plug the dongle directly to an USB C port,
trying all of the available USB ports,

I dont think its the headset's fault as it works flawlessly without the Sonar enabled. But to use the chatmix dial I have to enable the Sonar which will give me this problem.

ive had this with my arctis pro and gamedac ive noticed the problem on my side was the gamedac and i had my headset replaced and it still happens slightly, its some kind of interference building up within the gamedac and it seeps it through the audio channels, ive not noticed the software to be doing that alone but its probably a mix of things.
