hello - yep that's correct. You can output to your 'personal mix' or to your 'stream/audience'. Are you able to share a little more about your use case to route the single channels to different outputs while you are streaming?

Not at this stage. The format is set at the max bitrate that the virtual audio stream allows.

the use case is some channels redirect to streaming, some others only to headphones and a mix of them or aux channel go to a recording software

that usually does'nt allow the use of loopback channels but only virtual edm channels or physical ones

ok but it's a bit tricky because some virtual channels are stuck to 48khz and other ones to 96 that creato some difficulty mixing them together especially when using wasapi codecs that are in shared mode that need to match the bitrate and sampling frequency, otherwise in wdm mode you simply cannot use those virtual channels

or using a physical mixer or virtual mixer to blend one or two different channel that came out from sonar

Done, as of now I just put the regular media as an audio source, then streamer for main audio source, which takes discord + game but doesn't include music

just for feedback, i was using sonar+voicemeeter.. the latency rendered this combination unusable so with this new beta version and the dual channel option i uninstalled voicemeeter to use only sonar.. it would be useful to have another virtual channel (like Stream2) to use it if necessary for streaming-chitchatting-recording uses

There is two "SteelSeries Sonar - Stream"
One is a render type, the other a capture type. If you can I strongly recommand you to use the Render one, it will lower the latency by approx 60ms

i uninstalled voicemeeter

the core differences for me are those ones:

1- voicemeeter (banan and potato) have got multiple phy output and 3 virtual outputs, sonar streamer version has got only 1 virtual output

2- each channel is quickly changed by buttons alone otherwhise in sonar you have to open settings of a single channel, modify if use personal or stream out and edit stream out to change the output

3- each channel can have different sample rate, frequency and bit depth

unfortunately it seems that the 3rd point and the internal core of sonar are not so compatible so i choose to keep sonar because it offers better EQ and gaming engine in combination with the nova 7

i've made some latency tests and the multiple buffering between windows-sonar and voicemeeter in combination with recording software like cakewalk or adobe audition created a lot of jittering, data loss and audio glitches that rendered unoperable the sound sample

the streaming output is a very good thing because superseed the necessity of a third party app like voicemeeter. but in voicemeeter there are more input and more outputs free to use from the user to let him do whatever he likes. now in sonar the engine is stronger and EQ is amazing but is too hardcoded. if i switch to streamer mode i need mode options like otput, bitrate configuration, sample rate configuration, effect engine integration if needed and IP/IP connection because using sonar introduce latency and lag and the software is a mess if injected in the middle of a chain-sound-engine machine

the sonar setup for streamers are cool, but there's no way to split the music into its own track in obs through the stream channel, is there? atm i have it set up so spotify is on its own audio track in obs(in terms of VOD) and i noticed if i were to set up the stream mix, i'd have 1 mix going into obs, with no real way of having the audio on a different track in the vod.

We are unable to manage personal mix of game audio through windows when streamer mode is on. It keeps setting it too 100 when it sounds and is set to like 2% in sonar

Correct once you use Sonar for Streamers we assume you control both personal and stream mix through the mixer in Sonar - However, I am really interested to learn more about your need. Why you wish to control it through windows?

Rise of the Tomb raider at 2% is much quieter than Star Citizen at same volume. This applies elsewhere too. Making me manually change it is a lot of extra work for me, somebody who bought a keyboard with media keys for a reason

I got it, so you wish you could control volume without to re-open Sonar like with keyboard media keys or (as you said) through Windows slider. This totally makes sense to me.

Although this might not solve entirely your problem. In sonar recently we added shortcuts to change volume and mute - could this help you mitigate the problem?

My issue with those is I do not have any more space for macros. Also spaming tapping keys takes way to long to turn up my volume. A windows slider would allow me to quickly adapt my volume to fit another game right away without extra steps.

You guys should think about making a hardware device similar to the Beacn Mix Create or the Elgato Stream Deck+ that couples with your software. You already have best in class software, if we were able to control it through a USB powered bit of hardware with dials and a screen etc, it would be truly amazing.

It may have already been said but can we make the slider window resizable? I want this on my vertical monitor and this and hangs over by a lot. that's why we created the "SteelSeries Sonar - Stream" output. Redirect everything you want to stream in, and select it from OBS

Giving you a small tip with this "Stream" output : pick the one in "playback", not in "capture"
You'll gain few ms for latency

With the mentioned settings, it is not possible to control the microphone separately. The entire audio, including the microphone, is routed through a single channel in the stream.

I personally use separate audio capture settings in OBS, where I can control the game audio and microphone independently.

Hello, just started testing the new sonar-for-streamers and I must say this is absolutely wonderful - it had exactly what I need (and more!), with just a small issue that I haven't been able to resolve yet.. which is the windows volume control.

I am using a steelseries keyboard, the APEX 300 and the default volume control is the Steelseries Logo Key + F10 (Mute/Unmute), F11 (Vol -) or F12 (Vol+).

However, since I had sonar active, the volume was stuck at 100% and wont decrease (it'll instantly bounced back to 100%) or even muted (it'll instantly became unmuted) so I had to open the sonar window and used the sliders there to adjust the volume (or assign a special shortcut keys for each individual volume adjustment (GAME, CHAT, MEDIA, AUX)).

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Since apparently I can not remap the steelseries logo key unto the shortcut.

That's how it was designed, you cannot decrease the volume as we force it at 100% on windows. To change volume, use the sliders in sonar or use the shortcuts you can setup to change the volume or mute status

You have to select like your Spotify or chrome and select it's audio output to Sonar media.
On sonar, click on the settings wheel of the media channels and check add to stream mix.
And on zoom settings, select sonar stream mix as input

You can now manage your zoom music volume with the media stream slider, and your personal volume with the personal slider
(that's what I did for Discord)

I call "Sound injection" the "Add to stream mix" checkbox.
It redirects the audio of one of the chanel (example media chanel with spotify backgroud music) into the stream input.
If you add media chanel to stream mix and select stream mix as input in discord for example, people wll hear your mice and the background music

it's not a bug, it's how it works. If you plug your device back, it will be automatically reselected (if plugged in the same USB port)

Despite what I had said, I gave it a try, it's ok so far. Some Streamdeck support would be great. Also, I am getting warnings via OBS because of mismatched audio sample rates, as the media is at 96000hz and everything else is 48000hz, I do not see an option to change that.

If you turned on beta updates in GG, you'll still need to opt into the streamer beta with the banner on the "home" page

From there you can turn it on/off in the Sonar tab in the top right

I use sonar for streamers and did a sound test and it all worked right before i went live it just stopped working the only thing i changed was my mic source from hyperx mic to NVIDIA Broadcast and now no sound will work even when going back the HyperX and restarting PC
i have my sound settings output set up manually on windows EX: Discord output set to Sonar Chat and Apex Legends set to Sonar Gaming
I hear the audio fine but the app itself is just not working. It displays 0 volume on all sources and OBS is not picking up audio either.

Has anyone noticed any clash between Nvidia Broadcast and SteelSeries GG software (the last patch from yesterday)

As soon as i open up Streamlabs obs which also then opens up Nvidia Broadcast because i use it for my cam.
Nvidia Broadcast then Stops SteelSeries Sonar - Microphone from working. But the non Sonar Version works

The only way i can get Sonar Microphone to work is by disabling the Nvidia microphone
This Has only started happening since yesterdays update for SteelSeries GG

Now I was wondering, I know the API is not really open yet (hoping to be able to use it with touchportal and more soon). But having a way to switch the Personal Mix from one output to another would be great (using shortcut for exemple, so even if the API stay close, I can switch using that). Would be useful to switch from speakers to headset.

Decided to try Streamer Mode, I like the streamlined way it puts audio to Streamlabs, however I cannot find a way to cut out breathing thru the mic. I have Clear Cast AI Noise Suppresion turned on and have played with the Noise Gate Options. It does not remove the breathing. If I apply a Noise Gate filter in Streamlabs it fixes this issue, however since all audio comes thru the Sonar Stream source, the Noise Gate cuts out low spots in music tracks. Anyone have a fix to this? Thanks.

I played around with the Noise Gate and Background noise cancellation options until I got it to a place where I wanted it... I'd noticed my breathing was really bad recently so I started using Sonar for the mic EQ functions.

I've currently faked this by putting the Stream Mix and Personal Mix on Speakers and Headset respectively, made a hotkey that toggles mute on Stream, then used the same hotkey on toggle mute Personal, then just manually muted one of them, so now only one is unmuted.

Works well, though I can't use it for the intended use anymore.

Okay so, I have an issue with Sonar. I have it set up on streamer mode but the "master" part on the mixer does not show the three devices below it anymore and I'm not sure why. It also changes my yeti mic input to 75% every time I turn on my pc and it did not used to do that. I also tried to get up Steel Series Sonar Stream as my main default so that it would just pull from the app settings instead of having to do custom ones and now it wont work.

I tried to check for updates and I am on the current update version 43.0.0. I also am indeed opted in for streamer mode but it just looks different now and i want to change it D:

Steamer mode (would be good for regular mode as well). That would be awesome if we could quicker switch between output devices. For that, the device list can be added to GG's right-click tray icon menu. So it won't be needed to open the app every time when I need to switch it, because it's slow and actually annoying. When I don't stream, I use speakers. If I stream, I use lite or heavy headset. But in the opposite, you guys, hid the output device under master channel cog. There are plenty of space - use it. No need to complicate.

Moreover. It will be useful to see sound mixer of every app in the channel for every output channel. The same as in VoiceMeter potato. Because now it's extremely difficult to control them, I have to use the Window's Sound control via Control panel.

when stream mode is on, a new audio device called "Sonar - Stream" is available to output to as a mic

so you'd use this new output for sending audio to discord while keeping your personal mix separate

i'd advise against sending the mic to personal mix for the reasons you describe, it'll probably have a nasty delay

This creates an issue because I dont like to speak over myself. yes, again, streamer mode should be able to do this. when it's active, the Stream audio device is active, so you'd use that as your mic in Discord or whatever, but you'd still have a personal mix that you can send to your headset so you can still hear your browser audio

so you'd just set your browser to both personal and stream mix, and set your mic to only stream mix. so now the stream mix will have both audios, but your headset will only hear your browser

Hi, sorry If this question already ha been asked. Using streamer mode with sonar on latest version 45.0.0 and latest Win 10. Every single time I put my machine into sleep mode and then ocme back after few hours. Sonar just stops directing sounds into my personal mix. Stream mix works fine but nothing I do ( turning app off/on, swapping sonar setttings, sawpping devices) will make the sound come back to personal mix. The only thing that does the job is to restart my machine completly. I mean it's okayish for a solution but thats not the point for me to put my machine into sleep then. 😐 Did anyone else had similar problem before?

Just some general feedback. I've had some serious loading hang ups on the "Sonar" tab after unlocking the PC or waking it up from sleep. Sometimes so significant that it causes GG to crash. If the page hangs up too long I just force close the app then restart, which seems to resolve the issue. Hadn't been experiencing this until more recently.

I may be ab it late but your personal mix is NOT controlling your mic. Your personal mix is what YOU hear and since you dont want to hear your own mic you dont have your mic routed to your personal mix. Your stream mix is what controls the mic volume as well as every other sound you are transmitting.

having an issue where sonar (using streamer mode) is making my mic only output to the left channel/headphone. all other audio I run through sonar is fine, when I use the base mic input without sonar on other platforms it works fine. anyone have a solution or know why sonar is causing this?

I found the issue. since the output from sonar is only a single channel instead of multiple, like how non-streamer mode has the mic isn't being converted to mono. The only real fix I see is converting the output channel to mono, which screws the other channels like game/chat. so I guess just not using streamer mode is the way to fix it?

if you add the stream VAD to the OBS as audio track you will have basically whatever you "add to stream mix" mixed down in the OBS aux --and each channel volume will be controlled in Sonar (Stream sliders)

if then you wanna output media (alone) as another source you could just use Sonar Media VAD as source -- in this case you need to add media to the personal mix. And this will be controlled in sonar with personal mix

Yes, I can't get the microphone sound set properly with the GoXLR. I've already watched a few videos but it didn't really help. Then I discovered Steelseries GG Sonar and left almost the GoXLR settings untouched and integrated the GoXLR microphone into the sonar it sounds better but unfortunately it's somehow delayed and jerky why?

But that can't actually be the way, I hope I can somehow manage it soon with just the GoxLR or the sonar runs smoothly and without delay then everything would be fine

When I integrated the sonar microphone into OBS or Discord, I had a delay of around -155 ms, which I of course adjusted to OBS. I don't think it's possible to adjust this on Discord

Hey, so I set up everything with obs etc. and it worked fine. After I restarted my pc the audio was right, I thought, but I couldn't mute or change the level on both mixes. In Chrome, it works sometime, but I can't get it to work consistent and in Spotify which I routed through aux it's not working at all. For Chrome i had the feeling that it worked after a few minutes.

Sonar For Streamers is an integral part of my stream setup, but the GG program auto-update is not good. Reliability is paramount for streamers. There was a bug in version 49.0.0 that broke Sonar for me (documented on SteelSeries ticket 1363804) and I modified the program files so I could re-install v48 and prevent the auto-update.

I can get the micrphone input to work on either the PS5 or my PC but not both for some reason. Wondering if this is a limitation of the PS5, my gaming PC, the mic/mixer, or what. hi! I have a question about my mic configuration in gg Sonar for streamers. The stream channel that I see from the streamlabs app is stereo, correctly. But my microphone is a mono signal, and I can't understand how to get it on both stereo channels of the stream. As a result, my audience hears the videogames I stream in stereo, but my voice from just one side (I think left one but not sure)
I tried changing the input signal in the audio card from mono to stereo, and looking in the options for microphone in steelseries gg, but can't find how to resolve this.

i've been using voicemeeter for years. all which was going to ''VM Output'' and ''Sonar Stream'' in this case, will goes together in 1 channel mix

sonar works only like as output, so, only control the windows output volume gain of each virtual audio device, like ''Aux'' as example.

the software needs too much work for now

i prefer staying with voicemeeter banana. is free and works natively with stream deck with BarRaider plugin.

another thing i don't like, you can't chain volume signals in stream mode, to adjust monitor and stream mix at same time, also controlling it with keybinds.

master volume works as general volume adjust slider for all others, not as monitor volume adjuster. is really bad.

also if you choose sonar mic on discord if you mute and adjust your mic volume from sonar will adjust your mic on discord too i believe. can be helpful if you have a very loud mic and your teammates always do a comment of it. but personally i always stick with the direct mic input on discord as is.

one more thing, to everyone which want to try multi track recording, can do tests with the devices as inputs and outputs, to find which works, and better, thinking about what you need, and which one you need as input or output. is like math a little bit.

generally with sonar for example, in desktop audio 1 and 2, goes ''Game'' and ''Chat'' channel devices. in Mic/Aux input 1 goes your Mic device and so on.

i missed something. if you don't use stream mode you will loose the possibility of route all your audio to 1 only mix track (Sonar Stream device) and control them to go on the mix track as you like.

i founded the definitive way to stream & record with voicemeeter having separated tracks and also control the output gain to obs BUT.. works stuttery bad. i just send discord and mic from voicemeeter via A2 (Cable-A) and A3 (Cable-B) and deactivate B1/B2 which correspond. so i was finally with 4 separated signals and 4 separated tracks on obs. sad that works bad.

Game/System audio was to B1 and Music to B2 when the others channels i deactivate the B1 and B2 to don't mixed them. was a very good method really.

takes me like 1+ hour finding and testing. lol

if OBS will have like 5 outputs and inputs will be awesome and more easier for us.

personally on stream mode i deactivate monitoring for me and swap between ''hear stream mix'' on sonar. the bad thing if i choose to stay with stream mix and mute the stream mic monitoring i believe the audience can't hear my mic too.

Set Spotify to Aux and uncheck the option to include Aux in your stream mix.

In OBS add Sonar Stream as well as Sonar Aux as audio sources. Then you can set Sonar Aux to not be included in your vid track the same way you would have done it manually before.

Sonar is fantastic software but it's severely limited by it's inability to sense programs that don't use active audio for the selected window. In OBS you are able to pick a source and it will just work. Outside of this I honestly think sonar is near perfect, especially the ability to separate streamer output from actual PC outputs.

Hey quick question here.

I use Xbox Game bar to talk with some of my friends when I am streaming. I set Game bar as "Chat" in all of the audio settings that Windows 10 has, but it still goes right into the "Game" channel. I can try and drag the icon over, and it moves, disappears and then reappears again in the "Game" channel again.

Any ideas on what is going on here?

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

before sonar i just had a plugin for all the individual audios, and then just made the spotify audio on another "soundtrack (?)" I hope you know what i mean :)

Yes, you'll want to route Spotify through either Media or Aux (SS recommends media, but I prefer using Aux for music as its own separate thing).

Then make sure Sonar is set to streamer mode so that your stream mix is active.

Then go into OBS/Streamlabs/whatever you use and add all of your mixes as audio sources. By using multitrack recording, you can have multiple audio inputs active on separate tracks to edit them later when making vods (in other words, you can delete both the stream mix and the spotify track in the video editor while keeping the rest of your audio).

I recently set up Sonar and streamed last night using Sonar but found out that I didn't set up the Twitch VOD correctly. In the Advanced Audio Properties, would the Twitch VOD track (track #6) need to be checked to gaming and microphone only or would it only go to Stream mix only or would it go to all three? I used Stream Scheme's Video on "Separate Game, Music, Discord Audio in OBS" for guidance but they didn't mention anything about how to set up the VOD track. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I need your professional support for a moment... I send the stream mix to my livestream via OBS, which works perfectly. For the VOD transmission, I individually selected the audio outputs, e.g. SteelSeries Sonar - Chat (SteelSeries Sonar Virtual Audio Device), so that e.g. Chat sounds are not included in the VOD. My problem is when I change the volume of a single track (e.g. Gaming) via the software, the volume change will unfortunately not be changed in the individual audio track. It works in the Stream Mix.

Does anyone have an idea how the volume of the individual Audio Source will also be transmitted in OBS?

Hey, I'm using MidiManager for a soundboard, a Midi control software for a Midi device I use as a kind of stream deck, and I use Steelseries GG as my audio management software. I put MidiManager in the AUX channel since the software plays the sound, and set my mic input in Discord as the "Steelseries Sonar - Stream".
When I play audio and listen to it with Discord's mic test feature, it sounds like the sound's coming from a very cheap phone microphone

I believe the way Streamer Mode works is that all the various VADs like Game and Chat are set to 100% volume, then it goes to the streamer mode mixer where it gets mixed to have it's volume adjusted by the software, and sent to the two outputs (your Personal and Stream outputs.) Since you're bypassing the Personal/Stream mix and just capturing the Chat VAD directly, it's always going to be at 100% volume.

I would assume it's done this way since if the volume slider changed the volume of the VAD directly, it would affect both the personal and stream mix at the same time, which would kinda defeat the purpose of streamer mode's mixer.

@sullen ibex in discord in your audio settings make sure to set the inputs and outputs relative to what channels they should be for Sonar (input obviously being sonar microphone, but output can be any of the other channels, most likely the one you’ll want is the sonar chat channel)

Then when discord makes any noise it will pop up in sonar (you’ll see a little tag that says “Discord” underneath the sound bars)

If you continue to have issues, I could probably connect with you over discord via call. I’ve been running sonar for about a month now and it has worked well. I also have a way of using obs and sonar that allows me to remove the music from vods but it’s a bit to type out so 🤙

Hi, I use these settings with my Hyperx Quadcast. I tried several Equalizer settings, but all of them make me sound worse in my opinion. I had the best experience deactivating everything, even compressor and just maxing AI Noise cancellation. I am unable to affect the audio coming from the 'Line In' on my Nova Pro X Base Station (Arctis Pro Wireless) within Sonar. Is this a simple pass-through audio connection? I can't find anything detailed about configuring it OR mixing it within the docs. Thank you.

For context: I have the audio output from my TV plugged into the Base Station into the 'Line In' plug to make listening to the news/shows easier when I'm working. I'd LIKE to be able to EQ that input and/or adjust its mix, but I can't find any adjustment options for audio coming into that input.

A Few days ago, I've run into a problem with sonar itself.

When I stream my "Screen" on discord while Sonar is Active - people in my VC can hear themselves.

• This happens when I have Sonar active, and Discord's voice output and input are routed towards SteelSeries - Chat and Microphone - Respectively.

I uninstalled/closed Sonar/the SteelSeries app and tested it again.
Streamed my screen in a VC with friends, and lo and behold - they can't hear themselves through my stream anymore.

Does anyone have any idea on a fix for this?

I'm not sure exactly what's causing it, but something weird has happened with clearcast noise cancelling - I used to run discord's output into sonar-stream-chat, and had clearcast turned on with no issues. After a few recent sessions of strange crackling noises, I've eventually isolated the issue to be with Clearcast.

When I turn it on, audio is perfectly fine as expected, but when I turn it off whatever you'd call the attached music happens. I recorded my sonar-stream-chat mix and was flipping clearcast noise cancelling ON and OFF, you'll be able to tell the difference immediately. attached some audio (some music to help showcase the problem) and a spectral-view of the track.

I don't know exactly how to describe it other than choppy, which as you might guess makes it annoying to troubleshoot.

the distortion is happening when "Clearcast" is off yes? I did some testing and was able to duplicate if i had the music playing through the chat channel and the noise gate turned up. Maybe try messing with that?

it was also repeatable with friends just chatting in the background. I'd recommend messing with the noise gate settings if they are on, if they are not activated, then I am at a loss.

Maybe discord is capturing it's own audio and relaying it back to your chat as if all the sound is coming from your mic? There is a "Hide Discord Window from Screen Capture" option in Discord settings, could that be the issue?

if you're using streamer mode then you need to disable all other inputs. It says your mic is set to "default" so OBS is capturing your mic twice.

Unfortunatly all other settings are disabled. EQ, Noise Gate, Compressor etc. I was able to get a similar sounding problem by having the noisegate maxed out (as you had also found) but that was an addition noise-gating on top of the clearcast AI-NC choppy noise that I also had - appreciate the effort though, thanks!

o7 is there a known issue with OBS+Spotify using Sonar GG Stream device?
Everything else works except for Spotify output to OBS, seems like Sonar GG mutes Media <-> streamer output. When I do a test with sonar gg output test function, it plays the test recording. When I use the "listen to what your audience hears" option it tries to listen to local output instead or streamer output (which both are quiet / dead / muted anyway) Anything under Media device wont work in OBS streamer output.

I have tried to reinstall / reset / uninstall and install again, nothing seems to fix this. Dont see a ny bugtraq anywhere I can follow. Thanks

but you definitely shouldn't be hearing the AUX output twice. the whole point of streamer mode is that the stream output is totally separate from your personal mix, so if you can hear it twice then something is misconfigured somewhere

also, two things to keep in mind:

• noise cancelling stuff can take out music, so make sure any echo/noise cancellation stuff is off

• to prevent radio/piracy streaming, discord does monitor for music playing through your mic and may forcibly cut you off

but i think figuring out why AUX is playing twice in your headset is the bigger problem

so im having an issue and im not 100% how to word it cause everytime i try to search for a fix, i cant seem to find anything related to my specific issue.

the best way i can put it is, its like i have "hear myself" turned on in voicemod but instead of just my voice, its all of my desktop sounds and my voice. this only happens when i open a streaming software {with sonar open already}(obs or S.L.obs) and immediately goes away upon closing either sonar or the streaming software. im almost certain my sonar is completely set up and set up correctly. my S.L.obs was working fine with sonar, then one day i opened S.L.obs to record and all i could hear was my own voice and my desktop audio. im not exactly sure what i could/should do to fix it. ive uninstalled and reinstalled sonar, obs and S.L.obs. i have not tried running the downloader for sonar while its still downloaded in an attempt to fix any possible corrupt files but anything else ive found, ive tried

i think ive figured out the issue but im not sure how to fix it still. my recording software is being placed under my game sounds so, im assuming its playing the stream software sounds back to my headphones. when i try to move my S.S. to a different section of sonar, it will not move. it is picked up when i drag it but, when i drop it, it snaps back to its original position.

Pretty good since its got a clearcast noise cancellation feature. Can remove noises like ur keyboard or whatever depending on the level you set the noise cancellation on. I say try it out but its pretty good.

I use the GG Sonar for streaming. For some reason, I can now hear an echo. I have the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset (this mic is disabled) and use the HyperX Quadcast microphone. Good whatever-it-is-where-you-are-right-now, question: I am using a great plugin for Touch Portal, but apparently, there is a bug in Sonar that changes done on Touch Portal are not reflected on the windows mixer (although changes are applied). Classic mode works fine, but streamer mode does not show. Is there a way to get a ticket to the devs or are the guys already aware?

Can you specify what you mean by echo? Based on the rather generic description, have you checked if your activated channels for monitoring and stream are set the right way? Monitoring for Mic should be disabled, else you can hear yourself which can be very confusing. Also, below the streaming master slider there is an ear icon. If that is active, you should only hear what the stream is hearing (so you are listening into the streamer mix). This might also cause you hear yourself. Apart from that I am not aware of any setting in Sonar that might cause an echo. Maybe the virtual sound channels are not mapped correctly for your audio setting, but that is also just guessing

Is there a way to change your output device for game audio and chat audio separately while in streamer mode? Because I have an Steelseries actris wireless pro and want to use the chat-mix feature on my dac.

Have you checked on which audio track the Stream output is going to and if that is the one used for the VOD? You should find these settings in OBS audio or recording settings

It can but I personally wouldn't if Voicemeeter works properly for you, Sonar breaks for me every time there's any driver update that touches audio drivers, but Voicemeeter stopped working for me alltogether so I switched.

I think you hear it once when the sound is played in OBS (with the monitoring setting) and then once again in the stream track once it is being processed by OBS

what i suggest doing:

• go to your browser source settings for your alerts and check the box that says "Control audio in OBS"
• right click on your audio mixer to open the advanced audio properties and try changing the "audio monitoring" of the alerts to another setting to see if it helps

Not sure what I did...but it was bad.

So tried two methods, one from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J_RIsUbOUc <= this guys video
And the other was in OBS, putting an audio output for each individual output (Media, chat, gaming, etc) and both had the same result.
It was muted in Sonar, but the audio was still somehow getting to OBS. I set PC sound to Sonar gaming so it wouldn't put up that little message asking me to, I changed PC sound to Media, but its still muted in Sonar, but not muted in the stream.

AND ON TOP OF THAT, the audio that's inexplicably still going through twitch? The volume will go up, and then slowly down, and slowly up and slowly down to viewers, but when I am monitoring it, it sounds fine.
I am at a loss.
If anyone has a more comprehensie guide, I'd love it, or suggestions.
My end goal is separate, controllable audio tracks. I want to stream music from Spotify, and have it not be on the VOD.
Twitches Application Audio Capture (Beta) is hit or miss for Windows 11 Pro apparently due to the API? So Sonar is my much appreciated alternative, just need to get it working.

Well the stream bundles all sound together for the stream itself. I've added the other tracks only for recording purpose so when I am editing, I can work on those tracks separately

So Stream uses the combination while recording is using the different tracks

Alright now the next hurdle. I want the twitch VOD to not have the spotify music on it, so I need to divide my streams tracks.
So this is the current setup, and I'm once again stumped. It appears that Sonar isn't controlling the volume for Helldivers II, but it shows that it should be. Its listed under gaming, The default device is Sonar Gaming, the Desktop Autio in OBS's mixer is Gaming, however when I mute and try to control the volume for gaming in Sonar, it doesn't affect OBS's output at all. In the pic it shows I have it muted, but in OBS the audio is coming out.

ah okay, I think I might try this setup for my stream, since in theory doing it this way will let me have the Audio improvements of Sonar and also use the Auto-ducking in OBS 🙂

First things first. You need to disable the redirect on Media, so it won’t go into your stream mix. To make sure that Spotify will be audible on Stream you need to add it as Desktop Audio 2 ( I would advice you to rename the tracks accordingly, to avoid confusion. Then you will need to make sure, that both will go into your Stream audio track ( in OBS), but that Media won’t go into the VOD track. You’ll find all of those settings in OBS recording and audio settings, plus the uhm… extended settings from the audio track view.

Regarding Helldivers I have no idea currently

For Spotify, I'm going into Sonar, setting Spotify in media catagory, and in sound mixer, setting Spotify for Sonar Media, then on desktop audio 2, selecting Sonar Media right?

What I'm struggling with is Sonar seems to not want to claim each audio source its creating.
Because I have the program set to the appropriate Sonar category, added to OBS, but theres a discconnect between OBS and sonar.

Ok, then your answer is above: Since you are directly integrating the Media source, it is not important, if you have disabled the Stream audio in Sonar. It just determines if the Media source will go into the Stream source, if that makes any sense.
