only up to part 4 but:

  • jonathan's a good boy and i like how his legacy persists throughout the entire series; even when you're not actively thinking about him you can still feel his presence
  • joseph's a silly goober asshole (affectionate). THE funniest joestar. also the sexiest. i don't want to fix him i want to make him worse.
  • jotaro's hot cool as fuck while also being an autistic cutie pie who loves fish. exactly the kind of character i tend to gravitate towards (stoic tough guy with a heart of gold) and my favorite by extension
  • josuke's a sweetheart while also being the most teenage boy to ever teenage boy. fortunately inherited his dad's best traits. seems like he'd be nice to have as a friend.

bonus non-jojo joestars:

  • george is perhaps THE kindest jojo character point blank. was literally too pure for this world.
  • erina takes no shit. remains strong for her family even after being faced with tragedy after tragedy. honestly probably the strongest character, just not physically.
  • lisa lisa/elizabeth was BADASS. could and would beat up her son if she really wanted. iconic queen. hottest female jojo character (you can tell where joseph got it from and it was not his dad)
  • george joestar ii
  • suzi q is just sillay lol. i relate to being indecisive and madly in love with joseph's dumb ass. also grows into a really sweet mom/grandma as she gets older.
  • holly's fun! all the best traits from both of her parents in one cute little package. world's biggest idgaf-er. loves her baby boy and her papa. most relatable jojo character.
  • idk if tomoko. counts? but i just want to mention that it is simultaneously really funny, really sweet, and really sad that she's STILL not over joseph even after getting knocked up and subsequently abandoned.
  • ryohei (same technicality as tomoko but for completionist's sake) isn't a character for very long but he seemed to really care about his family which is sweet. notable for being more of a character than george joestar ii or sadao kujo (not listed on account of basically not existing)

Johnathan: I really like his personality. Yes, i know, everyone likes him because hes a nice guy and blablabla. But i genuinely think that him being such a pure person is something to admire
Joseph: despite him.being an absolute jerk a lot of times, i think his friendliness and the way he cares is so sweet. He loves his daughter so much and it shows, also the whole thing of him taking care of the invisible baby in part 4 is too cute. Hes such a girldad
Jotaro: theres not much id say abt him since i dont like him that much but i guess it could be the way that he cares for his family. Yes, he constantly insults his mom and he was never present for jolyne, but that doesnt mean he doesnt love them in his own different way. Jotaro's struggle to show his affection is one of his best traits imo and i think its so heartwarming whenever we get to see it
Josuke: his goofiness, tbh 😭 pair him together with okuyasu and his braincells drop to 0 in the ssme second, and hes so real for that
Giorno: everything. I like everything.
Jolyne: same as giorno if im being honest, shes smart as hell and shes very similar to jotaro in a way.. the way she pretends not to care when she clearly does in order to appear stronger is very similar to his. Shes also very funny ily jolyne youre the best

Something I always really liked about Giorno was that he’s two sides of the same coins depending on his fathers, Jonathan and Dio. Jonathan’s side is kind natured, wanting to bring justice to the mafia world, while the Dio side I kinda like to think of as the executioner. Giorno kills because of justice, and does it ruthlessly like Dio, but ends evil like Jonathan.
