Stands are manifestations of the soul, stands and that are sentient can sorta be seen as your soul talking to you

Sentient stands dont necessarily have a reason on why they are sentient they kinda just are, its a trait

Other times it relates to the stands ability, such as Yo Yo Ma

so just like how jotaro can command star platinum to punch or see, he can make him speak as well
