The mute feature does whatever we want it to, considering we’re the ones who set it up. This is a free discord server, no one is paying or providing anything to be here and no one ‘deserves’ anything, we are allowed to punish rule breakers as we see fit.

I don't think there's any harm in letting muted people access only the media channels. Considering this is a server mainly for discussing JoJo, removing their ability to chat is already a fit punishment as it is.

In no way am I saying not letting them see media channels is overkill, or too harsh, but I don't see any downside when considering the alternative.

not being able to see some meme or whatever isn't the end of the world. On the other hand however, it's such a minor inconvenience to the point that it's fairly redundant.
