Ok so there are several things which bothered me but

||The main thing is that they introduce this awesome new character but then it turns out she is just a plot device to nerf shiggy because he got powercrept too much and then to make matters worse the actual way her power works to nerf shiggy is just an absolute mess that kind of throws the entire lore into question and finally I am just so tired of Horikoshi killing off or maiming strong female characters that the audience loves. This is a pattern and he has a problem. ||

yeah, i do agree with everything. tbh i had low expectations for this chapter because i expected ||star and stripe to get her quirk stolen and then die immediately after, but at least she was able to do something cool and important (weakening shiggy) before dying, which is better than the first option. but yes, the fact that she was introduced not even 10 chapters ago and has already been killed off is pretty disappointing… especially since she was the strongest female character so far. i was also confused with the way she managed to weaken shiggy and destroy one of his quirks (?), but tbh those plot-holes/ass pulls don’t really bother me. i understand how it can bother others tho.

and lastly, i also agree that horikoshi doesn’t really do his female characters justice. that’s one of the few things that i dislike about mha.||

||Yeah it actually was a really cool fight at least and if Horikoshi didn’t have a pattern of always doing this it wouldn’t bother me as so much, but he does it so often that it’s a trend and it feels like he has some type of personal motive to treat women characters that way. Also the way the actual lore about the quirks was handled and the whole “quirk civil war” thing seems like it came out of nowhere and was a way for Horikoshi to write himself out of a hole. Like I do think Deku is annoying but that was never my issue with the manga because shonen protags are annoying ny default. But the universe and side characters had promise and I just hate to see it play out in such a stupid way. || MHA latest
