god, this is the one manga i will pray to several gods to not make an adaptation any less than the best possible way it can be

this ones pretty tough for a few reasons

first off, the characters of course, jimi and kurt(to name a few) are big names, and unlike the case of jojo where it passes off as "the names are written in japanese so it doesn't count", this case is where they are using actual jimi and kurt in this manga, not to mention their respective songs. i don't know much about copyright with music in japan, but this would be tough i imagine

secondly, it's a music manga, which is difficult in itself. there's a ton of animation involved when it comes to the playing so that's where most of the budget will be if they aim to make those parts the money shots, which they should, but if they can't allocate it properly then the non-playing parts might suffer from a sudden disparity in quality.

thirdly, the original tracks to be made for it, it's a lot. and since this would be an adaptation, readers would expect music to capture the impact that the corresponding sections of the manga convey. unlike say, carole and tuesday where it's an original thing so they have some leeway to not have anyone expect too much.

it's adaptable, like all things, just the difficulty for this is real high fundamentally

though that is so say, there are quite a lot of heavy hitter music animes, so there's some hope in that section if they do it properly

Music manga would be better as an anime if adapted extremely well with every note hitting but adapted poorly I could easily see how a manga like that’s adaptation would be laughable

fukumenkei noise and fuuka were real disappointments for me. definitely part of why i started to drift away from anime. i really loved those mangas but the adaptations were just so sub-par
