okay I read through your notes and I like 40% agree. I like the idea of the ending, the entire last chapter in isolation feels like a really heart-warming scene, I even love the implication that aki and himeno are there. The 60% is that this is still so out of left field that it effectively negates the series. Denji isn't given the opportunity to come to a realization about his life, he's told it directly by the author of the book. We don't get any of the previous plot threads tied up because no one grabbed the rope in the first place.
We don't even get a resolution for Asa, she's turned into a plot device that proves this is the "good ending" rather than getting to be a person that learns or has an ending, clucky lives but she still has over a decade of trauma and a personality that wards off any friends, maybe her life improves but we don't get any of that.
Denji doesn't even truly discard being a hero, he lives bar-for-bar the exact life he had in part 1, except because he cant turn into a demon I guess his ego is in check this time?

Fujimoto had a great idea for an ending and was clearly trying to tell the same story the entire time, but something's snapped and he's decided to end his series months before it's done cooking, first 200+ chapter manga to get axed.

I reread the chapter and like ||they clearly remember but also don’t remember the past world, see Meowy’s reaction to Nayuta and Power’s shock as well as the “thump” Denji gets. Also I wouldn’t say for certain whether it was corporate or if he actually intentionally ended it this way. But I do slightly agree on the unresolved plot ropes thing.||
