||John was fighting Alcides much earlier. He gained better superhuman physicality and the others then made the opening for him.
Alcides did die to the hydra poison, but the immortality he gained from Chiron acted as a second life.

Richard gets faster the longer he fights, including his Excalibur blasts.
Gilgamesh used more shields, and Richard's blasts accelerated until it was a continuous beam.
Gilgamesh countered by tying his NPs together with the chain of heaven. Richard could dodge, but was forced to make one more Excalibur to protect Ayaka, hence the result.
Alcides VS Gilgamesh pretty much only had the end adapted. Alcides first used 9 lives with 3 arrows per shot, which ricocheted and homed in to shoot down all of Gil's NPs. Then, it escalated to Gil using elements in a pincer attack with Alcides using the full version of 9 lives that we saw.
Gilgamesh was horrified when he heard True Berserker's scream. ||

||the hydra poison part really did look like he died from it but it also looked like it was the mud that allowed him to not fully die or something, sucks they weren't able to convey it more properly. also you answered another question i had lol cuz i don't know what the fuck gil was doing at all like since when was he able to conjure elements and mix them to make hollow purple||

One Piece Live Action Season 2 beat. Oh I loved this so much, and definitely liked it more than season 2. They gave each main cast time spent with one another, so that was great. I loved how they adapted, added, and expanded on each story beat. Oh and the music freakin rocks, especially whiskey peak saloon and Pray to the Sun. Some changes I loved was them ||including Bartolomeo during Loguetown, the Rumbar Pirates, showing Sabo’s silhouette, and also moving Roger’s request to Garp about his son to now lol.|| Boy that’s gonna drive the live action only’s crazy lol. Oh and of course most importantly, they didn’t mess up Dr. Hiruluk. Teared up all over again. Highly recommended to the live action, anime, and manga fans. Hell, everyone should watch this series.

Can’t wait for Season 3 for || full Alabasta arc.||! Next year or two years from now? Hopefully haha, since they’re already filming. Which reminds me, since ||Ace|| was already cast I thought we were gonna get a teaser but oh well.

I get that by the very nature of a sports manga, the whole series is effectively a neverending tournament arc, but it's still funny how many new characters are propped up back-to-back to set up future matches

also I think Kubo might've been influenced a lot by Slam Dunk's artstyle

not just the comically long Bleach limbs, but also the way he draws eyes, it's very similar

but the long limbs too definitely
