I've been reading Don Quixote. Despite being written 400 years ago, the book's humour still feels fresh and has brought me to laughter and made me smile multiple times. It helps that all these stupid happenstances keep getting described with very elevated and smart sounding language.
Some of the dialogue in the book is kinda insane too. Like, look at this, a passage in which a woman is describing a man:

You'd think that's just a metaphor, right? To say that he really is an amazing person? And that the praising would stop here? But no, the book continues with

im here for it though, if having a different vision for something I liked was a deal breaker I wouldn't have enjoyed reze arc movie as much cus I would've still been hung up on NKYM being dropped from CSM anime project

more anime fans need to come to terms that their aversion to different creative choices is snydercult behavior

I don't like it very much because I read the manga beforehand and I think the panels are amazing and the adaptation is not very faithful to it, but it's definitely interesting what they're doing

They're making an effort and creating a different experience, and I respect that

Yeah. It's too loose/less detailed for my liking. Season 1 was great but Season 2's art style felt like Piccolo taking off his weighted cape. It was less detailed but allowed for much smoother sequences, so I still liked it.

But Season 3's art style feels even less detailed than the previous season. And with how detailed the characters in the manga panels are, it's not really what I anticipated

The biggest example I can give right now is the ||Toji panel they adapted in episode 4.||

in the character sheets/KVs I would get that but the actual show has way more line art on screen than season 2
especially since the show has ADs that don't prioritise colored shading as much, so if anything it has more detail

season 1 had bad digital compositing/elements due to prod conditions and experience from the team at Mappa at the time, season 2 was much better but sometimes would be a bit too much (like take s2 ep 13, the animation is amazing but the blue and red rim lighting was way too present for my taste) and had like two pretty bad dips that even season 1 never stooped to despite being an overall worse looking season. season 3 is pretty much perfect with color scripts and compositing

Wonder Man Season One Review: (AS NON SPOILER AS I CAN MAKE IT)

Since it came out all on one day I decided to review the eight episodes of this season all at once. My first thought throughout these such eight episodes is how… how do they finally get color composition… not a single badly lit or graded shot (or for that matter any MCU gray). My second thought is Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, dear lord he, funnily enough, acted his hide off- the hidden turmoil, the external desperation, the combined ambition and striving to connect. Love how his character arc was essentially acting authentically (hell a lot of the plot, fittingly, hinges upon acting). That Doorman episode being a parallel and a parable for Simon while also embodying blaxploitation, that one hit me good. Appreciate the connection to the grander MCU with Cleary/DODC and the consequences (or lack thereof) of the Mandarin with Trevor Slattery- and teases of a more mutant saga coming next. Finally, to have this much a meta project after all the ebbs and flows of the MCU and have it be authentic is a real treat. His theme is cute too.
