Recency bias or not, this genuinely might have become my favorite James Cameron Avatar film. The potency the script and the direction of the portrayal of grief/sorrow, anger/angst, and pain/suffering that’s central to Fire and Ash not only cements this film as its standalone installment but as an excellent second part to The Way of Water as it was originally meant to be. Varang as an antagonist, despite her shared screentime with Quaritch, was one of the best decisions this film saga had- because of the delicious as a heart (:3) religious and faith narratives she brings to this already faith and religious saga. Surprisingly this entry has good humor as well as jumpscares, thank Quaritch and Varang (but do not fix them). Kiri and Spider were the standouts for sure, and I am here for Kiri taking over the narration for Avatar 4.

Ultraman Omega beat in 25 episodes. The final episode was so damn hype man, in a different way than Arc’s. ||MAN AND ULTRAMAN TOGETHER AT LAST! Being able to use all the beasts at the same time was so damn cool too.||
In a world where giant monsters are unheard of and there’s no special task force to handle them, Kosei was a down on his luck warehouse part timer when he met an amnesiac person who could only remember that he was named Omega. Now calling himself Sorato after discussing between them, he discovers that he could transform into a giant and uses that power to face giant monsters and aliens that showed up. All while asking, who is Omega?
These modern Ultraman have been crazy great. The dynamic between the two Main leads was STELLAR and I love their characters. I REALLY dig the Beasts aspect of the show allowing ||Kosei to fight alongside Omega, and a hell of a lot more successful at it than Blazar’s|| lol. The shakeup to the usual setting of there being a pseudo scientific military group to fight the Kaijus was a lot of fun as we see the cast and humanity get a handle on the situation, leading to a great ending and beginning. Omega’s true reveal was also excellent and worked really well.
All in all, highly recommended to Tokusatsu fans and those that want to see what Ultraman is all about.

I think it’s done beautifully for most of the series, and loved the message the author tried to convey. ||enticing readers with great action and then revealing that it’s about never choosing violence was a bold move haha||
