My issue with the series Frieren isnt anything objective, but when I heard the premise I sort of assumed she'd be a bad person?
I think it would be way more interesting if she had some flaws that certain members of the audience would straight up dislike her for, like a tendency to lash out
and she still cared a great deal about all the friends she mistreated and didn't fully value when they were around, but now theyre gone and she has to realize where she went wrong (as we the audience learn about her friends through flashbacks) and she must carry the guilt forward as she learns to properly value a new set of people
but instead of any of that, Frieren is a very "safe" character.
She's an "audience darling", her flaws all make her more endearing to some section of the audience, there's nothing outwardly unlikeable with her
You could say "well she's introverted and bad at socializing", or "she doesn't understand her emotions very well", but we all know that stuff is just cute and charming for a lot of guys.
Frieren is a victim of circumstance, she doesn't have to live with guilt from actions she knows are entirely her conscious fault or anything. I'd argue you can't fully feel responsible or guilty for introversion problems you aren't aware you have, you'd just receive my pity.
I found this to be a bit of a waste of the premise, I don't think it fully cashes in on the immortality + relationships concept, but I don't consider it objective criticism about the story itself, and I'm sure it does what its doing quite well, it just didn't do something I wanted from it

Tldr, you don't think they went to any lengths to actually showcase immortality and frieren's guilt in her character, they played extremely safe and made her just slightly flawed where she can still be enjoyed by the majority and be relatable to everyone, which you weren't a big fan

Its not always as simple as the artist constantly improving. Sometimes they reach their subjective peak.
For example with Berserk, a large portion of the fanbase considered Conviction the artistic peak. Its not Miura's most detailed era, but it has a perfect balance between style and detail.
I'm partial to his art just before the switch to digital, which I is around 100 chapters later. I think the amount of detail arounf there is breathtaking. But then after the switch to digital there is a clear difference.
This is just how it is.

This film is so confusing it’s funny and frustrating. They need to address the writing first and foremost cause fanservice and cool directorial and cinematographic choices can only get you so far… and Scott Cawthon has had an infamous problem in his writing so it’s time he gets a writing team around him to check his work. Likewise, this sequel was marketed as more scary, which is a half-truth, as certain aspects were tense and/or shocking while others fell flat into humorous territory. Hell, the animatronics kinda were a mixed bag this time around with Mangle and Toy Chica being the stars of the show. The Newton Brothers still slapped with their score. Also, Vanessa and Abby were definitely improved, but at the cost of Mike. The inclusion of Marionette/Charlotte and Henry Emily was nice but the underbaked ||Michael Afton|| was cool but disappointing. Is FNAF 2 better than FNAF 1? It’s really hard to tell, unfortunately because this entire sequel is an enigma with as much cogs as the spring lock mechanism. At the very least, I can say that at least it wasn’t as boring as FNAF 1, because despite its flaws FNAF 2 could have insane merit with its comedic value. @olive path @sweet oyster @proper geyser @frail python
