Well, the thing is, he’s always had a lingering sense of doubt after Toji handed him his first L. The whole arrogant persona is nothing but a persona. It’s an act to seem stable when he’s just as doubtful as anyone else. He even comments that he doubts he’ll win by saying “when was the last time I felt that way?”

TRON: Ares Spoiler Thoughts and Analysis: (CAMRIP)
As a mid core TRON fan (I like 1982, Legacy, Betrayal, and Uprising quite a bit) coming in with low expectations, I was surprised at how much passion for the source material (especially its reverence towards the 1982 film) was programmed into this film’s files, however setting aside the characters of Legacy while honoring a plotline from Legacy was disappointing. Although Ares continues the TRON franchise’s premiere audiovisual experience, it doesn’t do anything to push the boundaries like with previous patches. Nine Inch Nails’s appropriately cyberpunky score slapped albeit some annoyances were had with how some tracks were edited into the film. The film’s other biggest strong suit is how the religious thematics of the franchise are overclocked with a Greek twist and embedded within a surprisingly balanced take on generative AI (showing how it should be used like with how medicine uses it and how it shouldn’t be used like how government/corporations use it). That being said, the characters and plot are never the strong suit of the TRON films, and Ares unfortunately continues this data trend in a perfectly inoffensive patch note. However, I must implement the Jared Leto tax (so what would have been a decent is slightly decent). End of Line.
