All caught up with Gachiakuta. Happy to say that I’m all caught up at chapter 148 and despite not being in love with the start, it clicked harder and harder and now I love it haha. The art style, the comedy, and how the story is presented are all just great.
It’s about a lower rank citizen kid who is punished for a crime he didn’t commit with executed by being dropped into the pit where all trash goes… and survived to find another world down there.
Rock solid battle shounen. I think the biggest weakness is I didn’t find their earliest villains particularly noteworthy. But now I’m fully onboard and can’t wait to see how the world expands. Hope it becomes the next long, LONG running shounen to the vein of One Piece haha.

The Conjuring Last Rites beat. As far as the final film as the sagas go, I liked it as a finale. Wrapped everything up in a nice little bow for Ed and Lorraine.

Kamen Rider Zeztz first ep watched. Really liking the series so far, a man with Lucid Dreaming getting the power of Kamen Rider to fight Nightmares who can affect reality through dreams. I’ve been a big fan of the franchise and I’m so glad a series finally released globally at the same time as Japan!

Shin Ultraman beat. A remake of the beloved Giant Hero Tokusatsu series, and I’m happy to say they nailed it. I loved this movie! It’s such a love letter to the original 1960s series. From using the predecessor series Ultra Q to set the stage for the film, to using the old sound effects and set designs, to tongue in cheek jokes like WHY these Kaiju look so similar to each other.
Shin Ultraman is set in Japan, shortly after a series of giant monster attacks. A group of specialists called the SSSP is formed to help handle the situation. During one monster attack, when all hope seems lost, a mysterious silver giant of light appeared to save the day. But who is this creature they call Ultraman? What follows is a great science fiction special effects series, told in 4 parts. The Kaiju and the birth of Ultraman, ||Alien Zarab, Alien Mefilas, and Z ffy with Zetton.|| I LOVE the new designs everyone had, Shin ||Zetton and Gabora|| were my favorites. I also love the final theme they went for the story. Fantastic stuff.
