Season 2 of 2017 Ducktales beat.

Damn the characterization got stronger here, especially with the introduction of the new character Della (don’t call her Dumbella) Duck. I just love her journey through the season and how she’s adjusting in her new role after her ten year long absence.

But what helps make the main cast shine are the supporting and their enemies of course. Glomgold is absolutely goddamn hilarious as the bumbling indestructible Buffon with ideas so goddamn stupid nobody planned for it. Magica is as sweet as ever, and Gyro and Fenton was great too.

Favorite episodes! Whatever Happened to Della Duck is one of my favorite episodes ever, not just for this series. Just… damn. Imagine that a single mom made a horrible mistake to do a reckless mission, and then due to an accident no one could have foreseen she can’t go back to her family… and for 15 years we see her futilely struggle until she breaks down. Great, great stuff. Also using the game’s track was FREAKING GENIUS! Whatever Happened to Donald Duck was great too, getting into what makes him great, even getting good solid hits against the big bad of the season. Loved Last Christmas too with making the choice for the villain. Glomtales was great too with the theme song change and the anti Duck Family recruiting. The Duck Knight Returns was great as well, I did NOT predict that the original Darkwing is actually this universe’s Nega Duck. The season finale was fantastic! The pose of Della, Fethry, Gladstone, and Donald being mirrored by Webby, Huey, Louie, and Dewey (to his consternation) was great and hilarious, and Lunaris was a great imposing villain.

Just one more season to go sadly, but god damn that stinger was just as good as the first season’s.

Damn, I think they put a rather clever and subtle Jojo reference episode here haha. I didn’t even put it all together until Steelbeak says this line… and THEN I realized that this episode is set in a middle eastern bazaar featuring a party of foreigners with enemies turned friends, and it had TIME STOP, AND he immediately followed up saying he should do a Stand-up. Also also, one of the confrontations had to be won by tapping into their inner rage. Hah!

Well in all honesty it’s probably just a really funny series of coincidence but still, it’s funny how the stars aligned sometimes to make an accidental reference haha.
