Didn’t realize last week was A Rank Teacher’s last episode lol. It was ok. So very just ok. Animation was pretty at moments though. Probably will read the manga way down the line, but not in any hurry.

Castlevania season 3 beat. Slower than the previous one, having 10 episodes and all, yet I think they could have squeezed it down to just 8 or 9 episodes if they trim the fat really. With everyone scattered to the four winds they all have pretty much their own self contained arcs. Some are better than the others of course haha

Isaac > Trevor & Sophia > Alucard > Hector

As mentioned I definitely felt it was a step down from the previous seasons, but I still like the build up and the final battles were goddamn great. ||too bad I saw the Hector and Alucard plot twists coming a mile away lol||.

Still good so far, just the final season left before the sequel.

I just wanna recommend a manga and anime for y'all that also deal with fate.

xxxHolic by CLAMP is about 17-year-old Kimihiro Watanuki who has the ability to perceive and interact with spirits. Desiring to rid himself of it, he one day runs into Yûko Ichihara who runs a wish-granting shop that always demands equal payment. In exchange for expelling himself of it, she asks for him to work for her.
There's way more to it but y'all oughta go in blind. The anime fucks up the art style though so just read the manga. Use weebcentral.com, the official scans are way better than the fanscans.
I should note that for "fate," the series specifically uses 必然 (hitsuzen, "hee-sue-zen") which is probably best translated as "(the) inevitable." Basically, it's "destiny" in the sense various actions have been made in the past which lead only to certain conclusions, which is to say, certain events. It's more like "unavoidable," although "fate" is still very much an actual thing in-universe.

The second is the 2011 anime Mawaru Penguindrum, directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara.
The anime follows the Takakura siblings made up of two brothers named Kanba and Shōma and a terminally sick little sister named Himari. They one day visit an aquarium where she collapses and dies but is revived by a magic penguin hat. Possessed by the penguin hat, she bids her brothers to obtain the Penguindrum. Along the course, they confront the troubled past of their family as they head ever onwards to the Destination of Fate.
This series specifically uses 運命 (unmei, "oon-may") which really is just "fate" as we think of it.
I do give warnings for SA, CSA, child abuse, child neglect, incest and pseudoincest (these make sense after some analysis. I might write about it). And also overall weirdness and out-of-pocketness. Don't be frustrated if ya don't get it. It takes multiple watches.

Does anyone actually know if fate and destiny are all that different in English? In Spanish they're the same word: "destino" (which also means "destination." All three come from the Latin word "destinare," meaning "to make firm," or "to establish).
Googling gives me some confusing answers. There's "fatalism" but there's also "predestination." I've always used em interchangeably.

Castlevania Season 4 and the last one beat. HOLY CRAP WHAT A SEASON! Hell of a note to end the show on, definitely went out with a bang. The show runners definitely learned from the previous seasons and made sure not to stack all the action at the final episodes.

Very early on we got ||Striga’s awesome day armor fight|| and then in the middle if the freaking season we got ||Issac’s invasion of Styria.|| The whole damn episode was awesome with ||Hector revealing what he was preparing for|| and oh man the climax ||with Carmilla. The whole fight. That ending with her deface EXACTLY like her boss fight in Castlevania 2|| was chef’s kiss perfection. Final battle marathon was crazy as well, with ||Alucard Castle brawl with the trio reunited and GERGOTH rejoining the fray, then to vs Drakan’s elites, that moment when they helped each other BAH GAWD, then of course FREAKING DEATH revealed himself and then Trevor had SICK AS HELL animation throwing the boomerang at the Rebis.. AND THEN TREVOR VS DEATH HOLY CRAP!||

Anyway best season, awesome ending to an awesome animated series and one of my favorites. If you haven’t watched it yet GO WATCH IT it’s THAT good. 10/10 highly recommended.

Adult content warning however, they don’t pull any punches with depicting the carnage that comes from fighting a demonic army ravaging the country.
