Linebarrels of Iron beat at 122 chapters. I loved it, it’s a great mecha series with a crap ton of awesome fights and moments, with beautiful art and great designs. Unfortunately it’s balanced by a lot of dumb story beats, particularly towards the middle and start, but not enough to make me drop it. Still, quite a few twists I liked, a few unexpected ones, and some dumb ones I saw coming but hoping they wouldn’t do lol. I loved the final arc (minus the dumbs) and the ending at least.

Still it was a fun time and a series I would recommend to mecha nerds.

Alien: Romulus Spoiler Thoughts and Analysis:

I like it. Basically, the blend of all that is Alien. Takes the franchise spanning motherhood and womanhood motifs with Prometheus/Covenant’s religious/historical allusions and infuses it with elements of the Generation Z experience. Cailee Spaeny’s Rain Carradine and David Jonsson’s Andy are easily a great and endearing sister-brother dynamic duo that has ebbs and flows in their relationship that hooks you amidst the elevated (pun intended; relative to the franchise) action and genuinely mental (in a “good” way) and frightening third act. Unfortunate use of AI technology though.
