Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 7, “Choice” Spoiler Thoughts and Analysis:

The connecting the dots episode concerning the Brendok incident while also showing the dichotomy between Masters Sol and Indara and why Sol is in the state he is in during the present day with the whole Stranger ordeal. Also gives the explanation to why Kelnacca and Torbin was like that in the present day (and by proxy, why ||Indara was always the first to go, her inflexibility led to Sol’s rebellious behavior to retrieve Osha||). The Acolyte’s strong suit continues to be the fights, however the lighting continues to be its weakest link. Love how it antagonizes Koril and Mother Aniseya tho, one unsubtly and the other subtly.

Not lore breaking like people say it is, but its weakest points are the some of the editing and mostly the lighting compared to the strong suits, the world building, the thematics, the acting and fights. I wouldn’t mind a second season especially with ||Oshamir being validated in the finale||

I’d say it’s more enjoyable and better than Kenobi, Mando S3, and Book of Boba (and a bit of Ahsoka for that matter, since Ahsoka didn’t stand on its own compared to Acolyte)

Finished up Fire Punch last night. Honestly, despite the weird, edgy, sometimes incestuous undertones, it's really freaking good. It's a bit heavy-handed with the themes, but Fujimoto really did convey a very visceral story on how we as people twist/warp legends, stories, ideologies, and myths to our own benefit to fit a narrative to justify terrible acts of violence, among other things.

There is also the part in which, despite everything that is thrown your way in live, there is this base instinct of self-preservation to claw, bite, and punch your way through the thick of this nightmare to find some peace at the end of it all.

A good portion of the art here is really good as well. While it's not all the stunning backgrounds, action, and devil designs present in CSM, Fujimoto does make some really standout panels and scenes (with the help of his editor, of course) that feel incredibly surreal, creepy, and/or most of time unhinged.

I found most of the main characters to be pretty compelling, progressing the story's themes and narrative in their own, crazy way. Of these was Togata, who I personally liked a lot throughout the duration of the story.

That's all I really have to say lol; Fire Punch simply isn't for everyone, and that's fine; it's pretty heavy material at times and you should most likely just go with your gut on whether to read it or not.
