Caught up with Shangri-La Frontier manga. God damn I love how the story expanded post anime, I can’t wait for all of them to get animated. I really love how the author world builds too, and the fights and strategies oh my god I love them so much. As far as current storyline goes it wasn’t my favorite but the moment they got into the castle I was super invested. I definitely highly recommend checking out this manga.

X-Men ‘97 Season One Overview and Review:

The nuances of the tried and tested X-Men related discrimination, bigotry, prejudice, and xenophobia commentary plagued this season with the arc words TOLERANCE IS EXTINCTION. Speaking of, there were banger and memorable quotes surrounding such commentary, especially by Magneto. Nightcrawler’s inclusion gave a sort of religious side to the commentary and plot that I didn’t expect. The animation quality, music (like Storm and Nightcrawler’s themes), and fights were top notch. For the characters that weren’t cast aside by the plot like Morph, Beast, Bishop, and Sunspot, their time was alright (Morph more so as they had inklings of a kindling love). They handled the love triangle between Rogue, Magneto, and Gambit excellently while having a sort of realistic take to the weird love triangle between Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Wolverine all caused by Mister Sinister. Speaking of, Mister Sinister was done well, apart from not having more connections with Morph. Bastion had that oh pitiful irony to his take on tolerance and acceptance that made the struggle and fight with him so compelling. The second season hook was surprisingly built up decently in hindsight. The things it pulled from the comics made it feel fast paced, which definitely showed how a few more episodes could have helped for certain shafted characters like Sunspot, especially considering he and Jubilee got together in one episode. Nonetheless, to describe X-Men ‘97 in a quick way is to say that it’s topical and an epic emotional ride.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury beat. Verdict: loved it and would recommend normies and Gundam fans to. Check it out. I definitely preferred the prologue, season 1 finale, and most of season 2 compared to most of season 1 haha. ||The shift from the massacre to school antics was so jarring lol. I enjoyed it but boy was that a weird direction to take. I love the MC and most of the cast, didn’t really find anyone as annoying as Flay, and even those 2 Earthian Girls I didn’t gel with didn’t show up long or often enough to mar my experience. With the way the story was going I was expecting another kill them all ending but nope it’s basically one of the happiest and most hopeful endings Gundam got. The Rainbow attack shutting down the super weapon was funny what with the bi MC haha. I love Gundam Aerial’s design too.||

X-Men ‘97 Season One Finale Thoughts/Season Two Theory, Part One:
||Since they already introduced Sunspot uncharacteristically early I am certain he will be part of the effort to lead the X-Factor team in lieu of majority of the X-Men’s absence and have way more of a character than he had in this season. As for the thematics, it will definitely take on post traumatic acceptance and tolerance and the non-mutant public learns how “Magneto is Right” has credibility now. Likewise, I am also certain in the wake of the finale, that Magneto’s children (especially since Polaris, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver were seen on that mind boat) and/or his brotherhood will be something to contend with as far as the world is concerned and aware, Magneto “redeemed himself” and became a martyr to save the world. Speaking of saving the world, I love how intimate they made it cause usually it isn’t like in the MCU (ahem Eternals).||
(X-Men ‘97 S1E10 spoils since it’s a paragraph).
