Monk final season 8 beat. And so one of my all time favorite show ends with a bang with a surprise guest star and completing the story… until the COVID special. And all the novels. And that Peacock only movie that just came out last year.

Highlights
-||What is Page 73 damn

• I really love the Samuel episode, Monk finds someone who truly understands him in this foreigner mourning in a strange land.
• UFO ep was bloody hilarious. That scene when he woke up, saw the dude in costume, closed the curtains, and opened it again to see three of them was fantastic. Also home alone guy as sheriff.
• Monk pretending to be an assassin is one of my all time favorites. Just… everything haha.
• Powell is a great villain but eesh watching him destroy Monk on the stand was hard to watch. I wish we saw Monk destroy him in the other trail though. Also I liked Randy’s caring side here.
• Natalie took it too far but it was funny. Shame that toilet dude was out in a coma, I liked him.
• MEAT LOAF WAS THE VOODOO GUY HOLY CRAP
• I loved Harold and Monk reconciling, and I wish they kept being together in group therapy. But still, what a friend.
• Birthday ep was so wholesome I can’t- ugh I love it. Best part is Natalie outsmarting Monk like at the end of the chessmaster ep haha.
• Sharona returns HELL YEAH! Another favorite ep.
• Dog ep was great too, I liked that Monk could talk down the culprit, and the dog was adorable.
• lol Monk not understanding what happened at the hearing and screaming at the bear AND talking down the bear.
• Cop ep opening and ending was so good. Sad that he had to move on.||

Really great visual overload of just pure sci-fi and geometry, Nihei went the whole hog with lines and lines. Especially great the silent world building and easy cheat of defining the setting as incalculably massive and ever changing, allowing him to draw whatever he wants and it easily slots into the world as natural environment, quite literally just putting Kyrii into any situation.
Very much a visual feast of a manga, having sparse dialogue pushes you to keep what can be said in mind, and sit back and enjoy the show for the rest of the time. I'm ashamed to not have started reading such an iconic manga and authour until now.
