Masters of the Air, “Part Nine” Spoiler Thoughts and Analysis.

You truly get to see how the evolution of the mantle, “Masters of the Air” came to be as World War Two came to an end in Europe as well as how Egan, Cleven, Rosenthal, and Crosby showed their merit in such an evolution.

Beautifully shot with its cinematography, this finale did its part to show how the men at Thorpe-Abbotts and the downed men at the POW camps earned their marks as Masters of the Air.

Even though Adolf Hitler wasn’t present throughout, you saw his presence the most with the constant marching between Stalag to Stalag as the USSR and the British/American Forces from the West encircled on the Third Reich. The surprisingly deeper commentary on how war changes us and how war changes the world was also a nice touch as well. I’m glad in the final episode they touched on the Holocaust’s atrocities as well as the future after the war in Europe.
And on that note of a look into the past of war… from the river to the sea 🍉.

Man of Steel beat. Ah, the movie they chose to build the DCEU around on… and honestly they chose poorly. As a movie it’s fine, lots of spectacles to see… but not the kind of Superman story I loved. My favorite part has to be ||when he’s weakened by the Krypton atmosphere and constantly pummeled by the World Engine’s gravity, but he does it anyway. Hell yeah.|| Got no problem with the casting and score, framing was iffy but serviceable, but the dialogue feels really off at times. Like it’s not something someone would say to another person if you get me haha. But yeah choosing a more gritty/dark Superman movie as a basis? It can only go downhill.

Shazam > Man of Steel > Shazam 2

The next one is the true entry to the DCEU, and what a doozy haha. BvS time.

Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice beat. Ya know, I had the faintest of hopes that maybe, just maybe, on a rewatch the Martha thing wouldn’t be awful. Nope, still as hilariously bad as always lol. Anyway the movie is mostly a mess, what with hinting at future stories WAY too hard bringing in Jimmy Olsen and Mercy and doing nothing with them before killing them off, and I never really liked heroes fighting heroes storyline haha. Oh sure debating which one would win is fun, seeing them actually do it is usually done for a stupid reason and not enjoyable. But if there’s one thing about me, it’s that a single awesome moment can make up for the rest of the trash, and not did I goddamn love ||the DC Trinity finally working together and fighting ZoDoomsday. I do believe I even fanboy squealed when Wonder Woman shielded Batman from the death beam, and when the trio posed got ready to charge and the final attack…|| Now THAT was hype as hell. It was a uh, choice to kick off the DCEU by ||killing off Supes.|| But I suppose it fits with the tone of the cinematic universe. Regrettably. Casting was fine. Luthor was different than he usually is, channeling Joker a bit, but still fine. I’m honestly sorry for Batfleck, dude did a solid job being Batman, it’s not his fault the writing sucks haha.
