Dune Part Two beat. I absolutely loved it. Really scratched my itch for Science Fantasy. ||Loved when Paul was bonding with the Fremen culminating in his first riding the Sandworm, the final battle was awesome, and Feyd-Rautha was so much more menacing than bootlicker Raban haha. Also, I was NOT expecting Cristopher Walken as the emperor. I also really liked the accidental comedy of Stilgar being more and more… indoctrinated. Almost the entire theater laughed at his awkward Lisan Al-Gaib delivery right after Paul beat Feyd-Rautha LMAO!||

All in all fantastic movie. No idea if they’re filming the rest of the series but if they I’m there for further sequels.

Impel Down arc of One Piece watched. Still as fun as I remembered, seeing old enemies again being reluctant allies is always a fun storyline. I wasn’t expecting a tie-in filler in the middle of it to promote Strong World. I feel like Little East Blue could be shortened a bit, but the net guy was a fun enemy, and the east blue strawhats finding a home away from home was heartwarming. In any case, Buggy and Bentham totally stole the Impel Down show. Always remember, Swans never die, and they never say goodbye! ||especially since Bentham became the new queen of newkama land lol. I do hope he reunites with the straw hats before the series ends.||. Just one final arc left… Marineford, then I time jump to Egghead.

The Halo one is specially fun to watch for me, it feels as a show that I'd actually be into if on TV

I wouldn't say hnk is a hidden gem, nor most of what was suggested though my criteria for "hidden gem" might be a bit skewed

A few of them are kinda "not popular now but were popular at the time"

Stuff like Kaiji and March are like, top picks for anyone who watches/reads stuff just beyond shounen battle action

And Heavenly Delusion just came out with a stellar anime last year(though not as much of a splash as it hopes)

If you're in the animanga sphere when they came out, Ergo Proxy and Sket Dance were definitely known names, and even Golden Boy is having a somewhat slight resurfacing somehow from what I've seen it's just simply an oldfuck anime

If you ask for a delinquent anime, excepting Tokyo Revengers at this point in time, quite a lot of them will say Cromartie

As much as other forms of media, you'd have to go scouring the depths yourself and comparing to other anime to consider them, for yourself, as hidden gems

There are a few people who will prolly only know hidden gems but it's a bit of a balancing act whether what they know is straight doodoo or just alright(which made them hidden in the first place)

Honestly for a Halo show this type of stuff would be way better than whatever the actual one by Paramount is doing because you have an established and (in-universe) famous/known event and you make an original story out of that event- I’d imagine others like this with an abandoned and lost ODST squad on Alpha Halo discovering the horrors of The Flood firsthand (Halo: Combat Evolved), or a group of Elites coping with how the Great Journey is a lie and coping with the fact that they have to contend with Brutes trying to kill them by the order of the Prophets (Halo 2 and 3 combined), or like a Forerunner emotional drama piece about a bunch of Forerunner friends dealing with and arguing/debating over the creation of the Halo installations as well as the Mantle of Responsibility and who should be the Mantle’s true “Reclaimers” (reflecting the Halo Forerunner novels).

For a universe as unique as Halo, animation truly is the best for it- as it’s not restricted by live action and dealing with the complexities of CGI, vehicle props, stunt work- and it’s why Halo: Legends (even though it has parts of it that are dubious in canonicity) is so stellar.

Me personally, I’d kill for a Covenant animated film or show about the inner workings of Covenant society with such references and thematics concerning the Unggoy rebellion, the role of the Arbiter, Born on Boards, and the hive mind nature of the Mgalekgolos/Lekgolos- essentially have a deeply intimate and emotional thriller to such a production along with the grander implications of the Halo universe.

Goodness Paramount fumbled the bag heavy with their interpretation of a Halo show- especially with fucking up the thematics surrounding the Spartans and also the nonsensical side plots and shit. So fucking unfortunate- they and we could have had it all. Thank fuck Stephen Ford is doing an ODST film called Helljumpers (heh the original Helldivers).
