Scott Pilgrim Takes Off beat. Absolutely loved it. ||I was wondering why the anime was called Takes Off… and then the end of episode 1 hit me and Scott died like a chump LMAO! Then we switch MCs to Ramona and well, it was just such a treat haha. I love the story focusing on Ramona confronting her evil Exes and making peace with them and herself in this pseudo sequel/reboot to the original story. EO Scott was the perfect final enemy. As far as being true to spirit, I’d say it was, even if Ramona was portrayed more sympathetic this time around. I also loved that everyone found peace and didn’t have to die just so Scott and Ramona can hook up. Other than a bajillion paparazzi but screw them. The Goose is Loose at the very end made laugh.||

As a Scott Pilgrim fan I absolutely loved it and I fully endorse people to check it out.

Rewatching Blue Eye Samurai ep 2 and I love the transition between young and current Mizu in the cold water, with the fetal imagery aiding the symbolic baptism of her mind and soul

Also the difference in Taigen’s and Mizu’s imagination of enemies during training.. many normal foot soldiers vs one singular monstrous demon. Furthermore, Akemi’s interaction with the potential new suitor arrangement meeting shows that even a perfect Barbie doll like woman is subject to discrimination in that time.

Ep 3 rewatch: I love how Mizu being of mixed race allows her to be invisible to the “white man” even more than regular Japanese folk, which she uses to her advantage. Also, I love how the “white man” is accurately focused on geopolitical power. Also I like how Taigen is a perfect foil to Chiaki and even Fowler, he perfectly estimates Mizu’s strength as he is ||also kinda cast aside like Mizu||.
