Gojira Minus One addendum thought: ||I genuinely was surprised and shocked that Noriko was alive because when Gojira wrecked Ginza and the shockwave swept everyone off the streets and Noriko pushed Koichi I thought she was a goner. And I thought the telegram was for Sumiko and Akiko but nah my girl made it out ok and got to see her found husband- biggest twist of the film. Also I loved how brutal that cold open was on Odo Island, Goji just chomping and flinging dudes left and right- they must have thought the spirit of America was coming for them again.||
||I also appreciate how the film criticizes the whole kamikaze honor system too as a foolish way to live, especially when there’s more pressing matters in life||.
