Been reading some more of the manga and recently, I started actually reading the sound effects, but not the english translations - like the actual katakana
First, the English translations for these sfx are pretty much terrible and never accurate at all rofl, but is it me or are Japanese sfx for manga much, much more varied and incredibly accurate than most American comic onomatopoeia?
like I was sounding the katakana out loud in my head, and most of the time, I could end up actually hearing the sound effect it would probably make in the anime
It might just be my brain being weird but I feel like Japanese onomatopoeia has sooo much more in the way of flexibility and actually sounding like the real thing and it blows my fucking mind how weirdly well it works, while American seems to have much less and so few variations
