If the enemy stand user kills innocent bystanders, then they kill him/her (e.g. Captain Dragon, Gray Fly, Forever, Nina). If the enemy stand user doesn't kill anybody else then they're spared. Steely Dan is kind of an edge case, in that 1) it's unclear if he survived or not though it seems likely that he did since otherwise there'd be no point in Jotaro talking to him, and 2) Enya was hardly an innocent bystander

I respectfully disagree. What I loved about Hamon is that it was the same concept, all across the board. It was how people chose to use it and manipulate it that made it interesting (for example, Caesar's bubbles and joseph's hat trick vs esidisi)
Stands are more like "ok this is my ability I guess" whereas hamon was a technique to be learned
Not saying that you don't have to practice and refine stand skills, but I liked the idea that almost anyone could master hamon if they put in the effort

the only difference between harmon and stands is just you get a training montage with harmon, in the end it's just supernatural abilities

Cream will always be overshadowed by other Stands for some reason. it's one of the most Powerful Stand out there, able to have it's own pocket dimension, bringing people into it, killing them, and also being invisible while doing it so. It has a very cool and terrifying design which Araki nailed it. It's so weird that Cream is not as popular

@wintry rampart Hamon can heal incredibly serious wounds in almost an instant such as broken bones. But remember, you can't use Hamon normally anymore if you can't breathe. That's why Jonathan, a very very very powerful Hamon user died just by getting shot in the throat
if you can't breathe, you can generate some Hamon with the oxygen you have left in your body. that's about it
