I love the fights in part 3. While they may get repetitive, they're still enjoyable as heck.
But to be honest, I liked hamon more than stands. Because hamon was simple and its abilities were well known, you couldn't use the unknown to your advantage, so you usually would have to come up with clever ways to fool your opponent. I get that still happens with stands, but imagine if (spoilers for part 3) ||Anubis didn't know about polnareff's ability to shoot his rapier off|| or if all your stand abilities were known. That would totally take the fun out of the battles, right? That's kind of what happens with hamon, except clever tricks were used more often than hiding behind your abilities. I just think having something simple and versatile puts more at stake than having something with a specific set of abilities.
Don't get me wrong, stands are awesome and I love the change, but hamon made some super cool fight scenes

Hol Horse is kind of the most human character ever in my eyes. Lives in a world where there are magical punch ghosts. What does he have? Simple, his crazy ability is just a fucking gun. When there are problems, he blames someone else. In fact, he only ever works in a pair, partially so that if he succeeds he has someone to share victory with, and partially because when he fucks up he can blame someone else. He exploits others, he's practically in the background yet has a strange allure that makes people come back and focus on him even when he's not all that special.
Not special, not crazy, kind of manipulative, irresponsible, and quick to deal with problems in the most simple and not often most efficient way possible while trying to make it so he looks good in the process. Is that or is that not basically the entire modus operandi of the human race?

You have to use your imagination a lot when reading novels, its easier to read comic books since theres less text and youve got a lot of drawings
Granted, manga does have those drawings in black and white so sometimes you have to stop and take a closer look to understand whats happening

Ive read colored part 6, 7 and 8 as well as Solo Leveling (which technically is a manhwa not a manga) and theyre all fine. Colors will help you understand what's going on on more busy panels, where there's a lot of detail and a lot of action
However I will admit that some panels look better and leave better impression on me when theyre only black and white with shading
