Parts 1 and 2 are nice since they are super brief. This is a bit of a hot take but Part 1 isn't terrible, but it's the worst part in my opinion. Luckily Joseph is the best Jostar so Battle Tendency gets a pass.

(My personal preference) DIO and Jotaro also aren't much more interesting, but they're balanced out nicely by interesting casts of enemy stand users and great Jobros, respectively.

I was thinking more in terms of confusing a newcomer who isn't even familiar with the concepts for the switch from 2 to 3.

I like Hamon and the whole breath-controlling thing, you also get to fight directly against the enemy - with Stand you fight indirectly but you have to use mind tricks and have to plan strategies, so that's cool as well

Stands are neat because of all the weird stuff you can do with them, plus there's so much variety among them. Hamon, while an interesting concept, doesn't really feel that shounen to me since most people (at least from what my foggy memory says) use it in very similar ways. That's also part of why Joseph is so great because of how creative he got with channelling it.

Tbh I don't know if I could have gotten into it starting with part 3 bc the monster of the week style is so long. I actually stopped watching for a few months halfway through bc I got bored. What kept me going was my previous investment in Joseph and joestars v. Dio..so i recommend starting at part 1
