I'm not going to say that Kakyoin is the best crusader but I don't like picking favorites but I would vehemently dispute the assertion that he's a bad or flat character. Being reserved and shy is not the same thing as lacking personality.

He was menacing enough as this shadowed figure pulling strings, I really enjoyed that portrayal honestly. However, upon his true reveal, it just didn't seem as good as it could've been. The fight -though lengthy- wasn't too great in my opinion (not to mention it was just one very long fight).
I feel as if a lot could've been added to him to make him more interesting for that Part, but alas.
