The only implication I can recall is Kakyoin noting that Jotaro and DIO have the same kind of Stand. It felt kind of asspull-ish to me, but I'm not done rewatching SDC. There might be more explanation in the DIO fight.

the manhole doesn't make sense, since dio can see in stopped time
it is only when jotaro meets dio and learns of his power to completely stop time that he recontextualizes his incredible speed and precision as "stopping time"
