Part 8 can share similar gripes people have but worse in terms of plot holes or whatever else. We went from the relative consistency of Johnny (at least from what I heard and know) to Josuke dropping powerful abilities or not using them much at all in the story that they might as well not exist. Plunder is a prime example and how batshit crazy it is that it just gets inconsistent and dropped overall. That's not getting into the Go Beyond fiasco that's controversial for a reason.

The potential gripe of Bruno being weird once and never again is multiplied in Jojolion but arguably worse. Daiya, Norisuke, Tsurugi... all of these are primary examples of characters that are awful but suddenly become the lovable quirky side chars with their earlier moments pretty much never existing. At least Bruno had that moment of nobility toward the 13 year old kid in his debut fight. Tsurugi is creepy toward Yasuho only for their relationship to be relatively normal anyway and with Tsurugi being some hyped up important character we're supposed to love.

People can hold Trish and Fugo's underutilization over Part 5's head if it bothers them but at least it's not like Part 8 where Josuke gets a man that's hyped up and important for his scattered memories only to not exist in the plot. Even Trish was at least constant, Kaato and Kei are characters that are the polar opposite. They don't appear for the majority of Jojolion only to come back and suddenly be hyped up and just die on the spot. Kaato is the worst offender as many of her enjoyers (that one Jojolion speculator... Aeonstar goes into it) point out how she just didn't exist for a ridiculous amount of Jojolion only to come, take down the MV equivalent, and die.

That definitely felt important and was treated as something for Josuke to remember/pursue. While Trish and Fugo had their roles laid out and had roles that essentially made sense even if it was underutilized. Better than being like Kei who pretty much has no acknowledgement and ultimately dies with zero fanfare.
