Not all selfish actions are bad and not selfless or in this case patriotic actions have to be good, it all depends on what's the context.
When I say valentine wasnt selfish its because his actions werent for his benefit at all, it was for the country he dedicated himself to. To prove this I bring up the time when valentine knew he had no way to survive the infinite rotation yet he didnt give up and pleaded diego to carry the holy corpse to the vault
If he actually did it for his own gain and not USA he would have been like yeah no lmao i cant get shit then i dont do shit.
