You've got about 19 more hours to wait
discussion of spoilers
Nah bro #1445139275044622337 is full on ragebaiting and now lowman raiding
Yep
have there been any instances of non-guardians wielding the light. not hive lightbearers or ghaul. non-ghost sources of light
The eliksni did back in their own golden age
I believe the Eliksni Splicers manipulate it somewhat
Not in the way we used it but more for creating powerful tonics and stuff like that
Uh idk ada-1's lore but I think she was created with light too
Ada was not created through light. She is the daughter of the black armoury founder and was put into an experimental exo body
And why was it experimental?
Wasn't complete iirc and we even had to grab an extra piece for her from the niobe labs
It also lacks a lot of the humanizing elements of other Exo bodies iirc
because Ada doesn't suffer from Exomind Rejection
she's a walking weapon foundry. the Obsidian Accelerator allows her to craft and infuse weapons with the Phase technology that black armoury weapons use with her bare hands
it's also the only exo frame with an actual mouth that moves
Was the Archon delusional or just really committed to the bit?
the archon was legit (and is legit) souped up on dark matter
Why don't I remember her mouth-?
he was hyped up on dark matter fungus
he was literally connected to all of house exile
So basically...the EoF campaign is just us antagonizing some guy who's high on psychic fungus and hallucinated a whole prophecy?
you know what, I'm wondering if one of the Nine was manipulating him
That's what I got from everything
Sounded like it had been III who gave him the "prophecy"
wouldn't make sense
for one, III is dead
Long ago, that is
two, III wants us to win
the singularity advent, had Levaszk succeeded, would've killed us all
He did "worship" III though (in a weird way)
Though, if one of the Nine did manipulate him, why not just manipulate it so he has a certain win?
It would be more likely that one of the outer orbits manipulated him
We already know the Nine can manipulate fate itself
Also, why is he so stubborn and stupid? Like, he called us liars and cheaters when we were winning
holay molay concept art
when we inevitably fight him again we gotta see him like this
Isn't he dead, tho?
nope, sieve confirms he's alive
the prophet of the giver that we fight was simply the body he hosted
which made sense as that was the most ether-fed exile we faced
I haven't been able to play it properly, only on an old laptop that's only strong enough for me to move while looking at the ground and occasionally use abilities
So what is the Archon, then?
Levaszk
I thought that was the idea, but i also thought he might have been getting mindbended by like seeing across time on his own
I didn't play that season
I doubt it was only the dark matter that made him like that
calus mended his consciousness within the leviathan through the egregore fungus that was spread throughout
the dark matter is what made him like that
the fungus was tainting the ether supply
So definitely either the Nine, or Darkness (seeing how the House of Exile uses the Darkeness subclasses)
Weird that both cases involve fungus
I guess that does fit how fungus is thought to work like some sort of hive mind
not really, fungus is typically associated with that kind of hive mind state
Wasn't it discovered that it wasn't the fungus and the Exiles are just religious fanatics?
it's not really that easy so just guarantee an outcome
they're fanatics because of levaszk
whose consciousness is spread throughout them because of the fungus
especially when you have other members of the Nine who want the opposite of what you want
if VI was trying to make the Singularity go boom, then he has to somehow get through the remaining Inner Orbits who are trying to make it not do that (plus some Outer Orbits might not want that)
the Outer Orbits did want the singularity, but I don't think they would want to risk killing themselves as well
also, levaszk was kind of an asshole opportunist
No Archon, no Kell, no hand on the docking blade. None of us hungrier for Ether than a Baron. This is what we said. This is what we believed. If Exile has a creed, it is this: we will not be led.
But if Levaszk my friend tells me that we must have an Archon to make our Gift-Ether, how can I say no?
That reminds me, Lodi referred to one of the Nine as "him" (not sure where), why?
he made everyone drink the kool-aid and proclaimed himself an archon when everyone was too out of themselves to contest his rule
it seems he/him is used for VI
Ah
not sure if it's the same for all Nine or if they have specific pronouns
like maybe III is she/her
"The Prime Archon Levaszk is the savior of his people," I say, and when I speak it is in Levaszk's voice.
Would make a lot of sense given Earth
Btw, what's the name Levazsk gave to III in English?
the Giver
yeah probably
In Spanish it's "el Donante", which means the Donator
English has a nice quality of being a very vague language so simpler names allow for more implications
Taken are called Possessed
The rest are translated literally
Except Dread, which are called Horrors
Oh, and Awoken which are Insomnes
Ok, there's a lot that are different
Glimmer is much better, Lumen
That reminds me I love how the Taken shader is called Nothing Given
It's based on what the rest of the nine are based on which is the enneagram theory of personalities
That's not...what I asked about
Though what is based on that exactly?
Well, its based on the enneagram, which is a theory about personalities being a combination of nine aspects
The closest thing to "The Giver" would be the Helper
They specifically said enneagram during on of the vidocs i think
i might be misremembering
Just something to keep in mind, there is just so much they can do with the concepts
I don't think it's a coincidence at least
Enneagram is also a shape, isnât it?
Like, it doesnât specifically have to refer to the test and instead just a collection of nine things
good news, lore gang
i have proven that a beard can persist through resurrections
truly we are making strides in covering lore today
a mystery for the ages solved
i am feeling silly enough about this that i'm turning it into a reddit post
i am That Guy⢠today

i fat fingered a key and deleted the reddit post by closing my entire browser
truly i am a of all time
well i did it
for some reason
Would the full reveal of ||The Ghoul|| be considered spoilers?
Ah so it is. Woops. Will try not to mention the certain thing in Renegades.
Stupid question, I know đ
Noticed that the Praxic blade description has it named a âWeapon of Hopeâ in upper case
Itâs like Lumina?
I don't see how
A rather lengthy process of purifying the original Thorn, reverting it to Rose, and infusing it with our own Light to become Lumina.
How many copies of thorn are out there?
I have one, bael had one
I assume vale has one or another weapon of sorrow?
We made our own, as did all of the original Dredgens/Shadows.
An intentional ritual designed to create and control the sickness of Thorn. Dangerous, but manageable.
As for Shin... not according to the lore I know, no. He used to have the original Thorn but destroyed it. We found it, made Lumina.
If I am wrong, it is due to new lore.
We didn't really find it he gave it to us. There were even hive runes on the inside of the chest to stop it from possibly talking to anyone
As for the replicas it is a dark ritual but they don't possess the corruptive power or guardian killing draining abilities of the original. Just the power and hunger of it which to some can be addicting due to a guardians nature of seeking power
they just threw in that weapon of hope description for the blade ig
sucks we wonât know why
It's probably just another nod to A New Hope
Yeah it couldn't be a weapon of hope like lumina is because lumina is at least if thorn is anything to go by a weapon that instead of darkness has been bathed (couldn't think of a better word) in light and instead of destroy, it heals.
Things like maybe osteo striga or necrochasm could be turned into weapons of hope as they were originally regular weapons from my understanding
No confirmation on osteo but necrochasm has been confirmed to have been a regular auto rifle that was twisted by the hive
osteo was created by a warlock who got corrupted by a thorn copy she was studying
Retro meant whether Osteo was converted from a regular weapon or not as opposed to constructed from the ground up.
The former is more in line with classic Weapons of Sorrow.
Osteos shape looks like a veist SMG which has then changed due to its owner Jana 14 feeding the bones of her victims to it.
Wasn't Aunor mentioned to be brown skinned
He turned to look, and saw a woman: brown-skinned, crooked-nosed, with intelligent eyes and a hard stare. She wore a black duster, and light armor underneath. A Warlock.
It has been stated that she was always intended to be, and was designed as, Filipino.
I wouldn't say her nose was crooked, but the skin tone seems accurate, given that context.
Her ghost bahaghari is also Filipino and translates to "rainbow"
I suppose palewashed is a more accurate term there are plenty of darker skinned filipinos
There's a skin tone spectrum, certainly. Her depiction is not what I would have imagined from the description. Nevertheless, the statement says the model was designed to be Filipino.
was there any particular reason that Anna Bray could understand Rasputin? or was it just that she new Russian?
Because she's the one who taught him what he knows and how to be "human". And as a guardian she rediscovered all of that by investigating her past.
Tbh Iâm hoping eventually we get to see what our guardian went through before becoming a guardian
Before our first death before our ghost, how did we even fend ourselves off from the fallen on the cosmodrome during that period
we probably didnt
judging by the fact we wake up on a car, we probably died during the collapse trying to get to an exodus shuttle
Thatâs not possible if youâre an Awoken, mind
Yeah awoken guardians got a bit of a timeline hole
Unlikely considering we are supposed to be a blank slate
Ahh fairs
Plus its not like it really matters for us as the character
The whole point of a guardian (excluding Crow and Ana Bray) is that it doesn't matter who they were
And even both of those exceptions are regularly reminded they're not who they were before the resurrection
Amanda holiday long ago during the quest for thunderlord made suggestions about what we might have been before becoming a guardian but there will most likely be no answer ever
See those too were too curious for their own good
Well in Anas defense she did wake up with her id card still attached
And Crow got the shit beaten out of him after wandering the tangled shore and meeting another guardian
That is fair tbh, but it kinda damaged her relationship with Elizabeth/the stranger if I remember correctly, and crow stopped trusting himself around the vanguard for a while cause of Zavala being untrustworthy only when he saved zavalas life did he get accepted
Crows trust issues go back way further
got used by spider for a while
Again he was a new light and after randomly coming across another lightbearer they recognized the face and beat him up
He started wearing a mask or helmet from then on despite not even knowing why he was hated
Yeaa they do, after the whole riven fiasco of being manipulated and then after becoming a guardian for used by spider for a while
and then finally getting his memory restored by savvy
Still a bit stupid imo but oh well
He started to want to know cause riven got in his ear again during season of the wish when we semi revived her to find out her egg locations
Wdym by that first part?
Ana found out who the stranger was and started questioning her on why she got abandoned and shit like that
Crows was beaten up by almost every guardian he ran a across, had his ghost held hostage by spider and then even when he was in the city he was told to always have his mask on.
Then after being discovered everyone else knew him but he had no idea why everyone else was always strange around him.
And then savathun taking advantage of that uncertainty tells him absolutely about who he was and what he did.
She didnât quite like her response if I remember correctly
This isn't true. Savathun was the one that got in his ear during season of the lost.
Crow already knew who he was well before he met riven again in season of the wish
Ykw youâre right mb sorry Ian play this game in a while so a bit confused on some things
I noticed when season of the wish ended and crow ran into cayde he was very hesitant to take caydes hand considering what he did in his past life before being a guardian so he didnât know how heâd feel
Hello, lore people, i was sented here by a gentlemen called @celest pendant and said i could get my lore questions awnsered here, so here i am. i recently got into the destiny lore but dont know much about it, i wanted to play the whole destiny 2 storyline from "the red war" and onwards but came to the conclusion that thats not available anymore, so i thought i would learn some lore myself to get more emotion out of playing destiny. now death told me it would be wise to look up a youtuber called. "my name is byf" and learn some things there. and here is my question. is the video "The complete story of destiny......." a good start to learn much about the lore?
Well yeah both were pretty surprised to find each other and even cayde was contemplating murdering crow in his sleep while they were in the pale heart before we arrived.
A lot of people use that video. Byf is certainly the most popular lore creator in the community
I canât personally speak to it since I donât watch him though
Yes.
But I'd recommend you watch in parts because 24 hours of lore is not something I'd recommend you take in at once
As cayde would contemplate that, all things considered he got killed by his own gun he called his son
unless you're awesome and cool
ah yes makes sence, though the video is 10 hours i see. is there something im missing?
Wait sry idk why but my brain was thinking it was 24 lol
oh dont worry about it. i thought maybe there where more parts to it, since i saw he had more "cronological" playlists
But my point still stands it is a good video if you really want absolutely everything from start to where we were before the edge of fate expansion
Whole light and dark saga.
i do want that. since i played destiny 1 as a little man not knowing anything about lore or something, and i had an older guy that thought me everything about the game, so ill revisit old memories with that video i think then
Have fun and if there are any more questions then feel free to ask here.
i will, thanks for the welcome. appriciate it
because of our actions in the Season of the Witch and her transformation into the hive god of vengeance and subsequent killing of SavathĂťn, she gained enough power from the sword logic to form a throne world
so she's immortal* again
She didn't know she had a throne world until she "died"
Ahhh
So even she was bit surprised to still be alive. Even tapping herself on the chest to make sure she was real
My friend said when I asked for an update before Renegades like
That she was stuck in the throne world bc of the triad thing
Whatever it wss again
Iâm guessing you only played the opening to that episode?
I never even did lmao
Ah
I was gone during the episodes
My friend played em and I asked ab an update from him
She was there for a while but eventually she could reenter the physical world.
Ah fair fair
He probably missed that tidbit, bc he was also surprised to see Eris again in Renegades
That's really how hive gods work. They die, sit in their throne world and then re emerge later.
Eris was more interested in exploring her new throne as well
Yeah thats what I thought bc he had explained Oryxs whole ordeal to me
But then he backtracked ab Eris and said she couldnt come back from the Throne World
not on her own
So I had gotten confused
we used shards of willbreaker, Oryx's sword, to help cut her out of the ascendant plane
(alongside a ritual to help manifest her back into real space)
Fair enough
Im assuming that was necessary bc she yknow
Isnt actually hive?
Actually why doesnt she look the way she did in Heresy
I liked her Hive look
it was temporary
technically if we were to tithe to her again it might be possible for her to reattain that form
It was only for the ritual needed to fight xivu arath. She took all that power, used it to banish xivu from her throne world and then rejected all of it.
She committed heresy to the sword logic and reverted back.
She's still capable of accepting tithes though as the hive god if vengeance and uses that magic even now in renegades
Her throne is also a way she can speak to the nine even
Oh heah the entire
<@&1019968308973416448> get em
'VI, ATONE FOR YOUR TRANSGRESSION'
ah yes my favourite member of the nine, eleven
snipergodd3 has been banned!
Wait
Ah wmb
VI*
I was typing about the IX all day
And love doing the roman numerals
That was in Season of the Witch, not Heresy
Ah
She gave up/used up that power at the end of Witchâs story
The spell she cast to banish Xivu from her Throne went against Sword Logic
Because of the entire dark timeline stuff
Doesnt Eris kill Xivu in the dark timeline?
And her whole thing was denouncing it and using its power just for her own means
We have no idea what that whole timeline would even be
I thought there were tidbits about it
Like Eris killing Xivu being a major thing
Ah nvm
It just says Eris controls darkness forces in the dark one
Never says if she killed anyone for that
The dark timeline was really a bunch of stuff that Elsie bray/the stranger had seen in her time trying to stop the black fleet/witness.
Her sister turned on her, eris is evil, the city falls
But since then we have done so much and averted that future through killing the witness.
The outer orbit members of the nine are our current threats rn with IIIs death starting a chain reaction that is supposed to lead to extinction and with our only instruction being to "bind the nine" in order to stop it.
Yerpp
And RENEGADES SPOILER ||the current hypothesis is binding the IX to people, same way VI bound himself to Bael||
I wonder who wants to volunteer with the way The IX REALLY dont like talking through anyone who isnt Lodi
might want to spoiler that
Yeee prolly best to limit the nine talk a lil until the spoiler embargo is lifted
it's two hours until it's lifted anyway
Truth
I fidn the personalities of the 9 funny
Less coherent the further you go from the sun
they're meant to be comparable to the enneagram
Enneagram?
Cewl
and conveniently one is called the Giver.
Levaszk called III the giver throughout eof
Ah I havent done EOF yet lmao
I was told it was mid and I shouldnt spend my money on it
So im running through the campaign during the free week
honestly don't know what one I'd assign the others to. IX is certainly the Boss
Would VI be the Motivator?
it's not that bad. it's just the second half of the campaign relies on matterspark more than it has to, and the release portal didn't help the opinions
from a narrative perspective it was great though
honestly maybe questioner
How come?
I believe the Motivator purely bc he keeps trying to yknow
|| Motivate Bael to work for him and use his worl against the City||
But thats a very surface level view
because of his questionable beliefs. haha.
Heh
maybe observer? ||he observed the echo of the navigator and the dreadnaught in his orbit which led to his plan of using sword logic to escape the material plane||
does anyone know what this is?
i think it stands for the veil
but what is the sun looking thing above the veil and all thats around it
i can see the coralation but i wonder what all thats around it is
It's a mural that I believe is actually supposed to represent the two suns of rhulks home world lubrae
Yes
Rhulks pyramid has a bunch of reminders of his home and it's how we already know a fair amount about him and his past.
Also noted in the mural u can see stasis and strand
One thing I loved about him is that he was a collector
what part is stasis and what is the strand?
Right side u can see the 3 symbols
one is for stasis and one for strand
thats how people theorized the existence of strand in Witch Queen
Far right side.
Not confirmed ofc but these are thought to represent the 2 darkness subclasses
Yeah
ahhhh i get it
And that 3rd one is why a lot of people believe resonance is supposed to be a subclass
thats why they stand on the dark side of the veil right
Yes but again we don't actually have any confirmation what this mural is supposed to be. It's just a lot of imagery with a lot of familiar looking shapes
well allot to discuss about then hahaha
Nah its was just a foreshadowing basically
People saw this and started theorizing over it
Also Strand was supposed to appear in Witch Queen campaign but got delayed till Lightfall
and thats how people saw this and started to theorize that the upper symbol represents strand
again it was just a foreshadowing thing that was left in mystery
No it wasn't. This has been debunked by bungie
Wait really?
Yes.
Oh crap
Just because the expansion was green didn't mean strand was going to be there.
Even that symbol on the warlock chest piece people think is the same as the logo for needlestorm it isn't the same.
Wasnt there some leak drama going on
I wasnt playing that much in that time
but someone told me that there was a leaking drama that basically leaked strand
before lightfall
There was a lot of theories going around.
Lightfalls controversy also fueled the whole strand witch queen theory.
A mess that turned into a fire and then claims just poured more fuel onto it
I think this will happen with ||Eclipse|| too
HUGE stretch but I'll leave it at that until we're all clear to talk about renegades
Yeah
since her shoddy shotgun got reprised i remembered
has hawthorne been in any way shape or form been relevanat since release red war where she also wasnt very relevant
Lets talk about it
Eclipse isn't a darkness subclass. It's a gift from VI and despite the nines abilities they are not paracausal.
Ik that
Its better than both light and darkness combined
cause it literally supresses them
not suppresses but negates them fully
It doesn't suppress. It straight up nullifies it.
mhm
"Hollows out" as Bael says
It's worse than both.
Because all it can do is completely neutralise 2 forces that make up pretty much the fabric of the universe in Destiny.
Lume has it running through his armour so it can be used as an energy source but it is extremely volatile.
But neutralising ur opponent ability is indeed a win con
The way I see this is that if someone wield this type of power against me as a Guardian for example, he has better chance at killing me cause he literally has a better win condition
If he neutralises my powers and my Ghost cannot operate with my Guardian anymore its over basically
Not how it works. It doesn't neutralise and leave you standing like say the ghost suppressor the psions have used.
One burst from this thing will kill a guardian in a very agonising way as we saw.
I was so hyped when i saw that the yellow lightsaber had some sort of praxic quest associated with it. I thought wed have a blade color to flex actually liking the praxic lore and not just doin stuf for them for a lightsaber. Alas its just a random ass bounty, no depth to it at all. Man im playing the wrong game if i want lore respected holy smokes.
sorry to interupt but im learning more and more now, and i just thought about the traveller leaving alle places that its being chased by the black fleed and will not come back since it will search for a new safe heaven, but it left earth as well now, so will we live without the traveller now or?
He couldn't no. The nine always need someone else to carry things out.
This is why they require emissaries and people like bael.
They can't exist in our dimension.
All they can do is look at the timeline and cook up schemes to change fate to their needs
it hasn't left earth?
it's in orbit around it right now
I know that, what I was trying to say is that he could grant someone the power to erase us
it rose up to face the darkness, as a lore tab puts it
with his powers
And he did. But we stopped it
Yes
The traveler is still very much with us.
As of now it's in a bit of a "sleep" state after the battle with the witness and while it's healing from all the damage done to it by the witness.
It still has a giant hole in it leading to the pale heart and is bleeding light and dark into open space.
But the traveler is safe for the time being.
Traveler was only ever close to the city because it basically had to rest after the collapse and we built the city under it
I just had a weird thought.
What if there are hive In old Chicago, but since there are weird things happening across earth because of three's death, the organics of the hive worms change, and might evolve into something new and use the hive stomachs as cocoons to evolve. I'm just spitt balling, but it's an interesting theory for what might be the monster under old Chicago?
What is coolest lore weapon in the game?
wow i didnt know this was a piece of the traveller in EDZ, so cool you can actualy see it
That is a very subjective answer
You got Graviton Lance which shoots black holes, Gjallarhorn which is a rocket launcher forged from the armor of Guardians who fell at Twilight Gap, Deathbringer which was created with the power of the deathsong, and even Vex Mythoclast which has one of the hardest lore tabs in the game
It depends on what you believe is coolest
So
I cant answer since idk all the lore
Could read it
But theres so many guns
Rather have some lore pro just tell me
Problem is this is a question I can't really answer for you
Because as I said, it's subjective
Okay what about for u
Well, Vex Mythoclast has my favorite lore tab
Okay thanks
thats kinda the problem for me
see i also wanna become a lore pro but im as dyslexic as a human could be
my favorite lore tab is Jade Rabbit because it mentions the existence of medication guardians take to deal with their existential dread
completely unrelated to the gun itself i have no idea why it's there
i believe the idea is its also a Daito product
wth even is the traveler in this game? a god?
The earliest information we have on its origin is that it was found beneath the crust of the Witnessâ homeworld. Itâs a sentient being with thoughts and motives and agendas that we know of (and plenty that we are definitely unaware of because itâs a very complex and unknowable being)
You could call it a god, though the term is rather subjective on Destiny's case.
This canât be good
No I just mean youâre crashing out for some reason, so I canât imagine what youâre about to say is going to be good
hm đ¤
Whatâs the problem?
oh

zavala is a questionable source
Whatâs your point?
he's had numerous crises of faith
he said that bro
Some people see the Traveler as a quote unquote âgodâ. But that term doesnât really have an objective meaning
Hang on I'm still in bed, I just woke up. Give me a moment to get the computer in gear.
nah nothing can control a god
ts aint a god
its just a powerful being
with great powers
Like we said, âgodâ is a very subjective term in most fiction, Destiny included
The Hive Gods for example
The term is subjective by that which worships it.
there is hive gods? oh like savathun
nah nah i dont think its like that
They are called such because of their importance to the Hive and their pantheon. But what makes them a god? They are powerful and they are worshipped
Just in this expansion, Lodi and Eris have a conversation and Eris talks about both of them being gods, as well.
it's a very loose term
reminder that both of these characters are technically gods
istg theese days ppl take the term "god" as a joke
well it doesnt actually really have a concrete meaning so
even in our actual human world irl
just refer to it as an elite being and call it a day i think saying "god" esclates the whole thing
it has always just sort of meant "has some form of dominion or control over something or other" in most cultures
yh prob
i just hate how lightly that term is taken
when you scale it to "hey there's actually universal life outside the planet" then yeah theres gonna be even more and more varied gods
its a light term imo
how is god a light term when it is used for the almighty and powerful
we kill gods
are we dead serious?
like in the context of here, Aksis is by all means a god by Eliksni standards where machines are venerated and Servitors are holy entities, and Xivu Arath is by all means a God by virtue of being part of the Hive Pantheon, and so would Eris Morn.
one of our titles is literally "Godslayer"
Because it is only used for that in particular religions. In many religions even in real life, Gods are fallible. Gods can even die.
It is as subjective in real life as it is in Destiny.
shoutout to the mahabharata where there's a fuck ton of gods and a fuck ton of them die
oh hell no taking this thing to beliefs gives too much answers
why which "god" did u slay
I mean, if you want the traditional Eliksni answer, the travler is a god
the "great machine," or "machine god"
Here's an example.
The Hive worship the Hive Gods, those of their own species who became Ascendant through the Sword Logic. They also worship and call upon the Worm Gods, ancient beings of strong paracausal power, they who transformed the Hive in the first place.
Now, we have slain parts of both of these groups. We've slain Hive Gods and Worm Gods. Would we describe them as gods? No. But the Hive worship them, and through worship, they are considered Gods to the Hive.
savathun at least a dozen times
like, off the top of my mind, things that are actively called gods? oryx, savathun a few times, aksis, xol
i've also put a few gods in a gun
shit i don't think they ever actually call the witness a god and that was about to like
finalize the universe
One could argue that if Savathun was a god, then so was its Worm Parasite.
yeah that was what i meant by putting into a gun
we do fr just be having that guy in the chamber
mara did that not you
okay fair
i did put oryx into a gun though
that was all us i thought
ehh sorta yeah sorta nah
okay so you start by killing it
thats worse bro
Genuinely donât understand why youâre reacting this way to this lmao
it pmo
but you actually start by the god you killed having made it so they could be turned into a weapon first
so then you just like
put it into a gun
the idea is that its supposed to feed after death from the people you kill but instead the gun sucks ass
Itâs really not a big deal that fictional media uses the term âgodâ in different contexts
so its vaulted forever
did the echo of navigation count as a god again
or like a baby god
I think you're taking this too much into the context of the traditional contexts of "God" that's worshipped by many religions irl
the eliksni worship their servitors and sure enough i'm blasting through them all the time
It really doesn't have to tho. It's just the lore of the game
âgod
they refer to the nine as gods as well and aint no one worshipping those clowns
ultimately its just a word
The Traveler is a being of mysterious origin. Unveiling would have us believe it's the manifestation of a pre-existence concept, though what we know for sure is that its shell contains electroweak material, a theoretical material from the Big Bang.
It is a terraformer of worlds, an uplifter of species. It is a caring being tending to its 'gardens', not seeking worship, but simply the complexity of life. It is also, bar that which exists naturally throughout the universe, the source of the paracausal power of Light.
After the climax of the Collapse, the Traveler created the Ghosts. Through them, we have our immortality and power and our new life after death.
they hold dominion over something or other and thus sure, gods
or they're revered and worshipped so sure, gods
But, in terms of the Traveler being a god, you first have to dismiss the concept of a god being almighty.
The Traveler is a fallible being. It is not all knowing, it can make mistakes. It can be physically harmed and damaged, even corralled by threat or force.
Nevertheless, it is a tender, caring, benevolent being of paracausal power - something that brought all of Humanity together, and gave us entire new worlds to settle. It saved us from the Black Fleet and the Collapse, and began to bring the dead back to life with fantastic new powers.
For many, this is more than enough to see it as a god.
Different characters have beliefs and faiths about/in the Traveler, and other characters even deal with crises of faith, like Zavala, and now Eido too
Yes, Zavala's views on the Traveler changed a lot throughout his life. He may have once seen it as a god, but The Final Shape was rather heavy handed in showing his crisis of faith - a continuation of what he had already been experiencing.
YES
thats exactly IT
thats the actual plot
i im reading abit more about the fallen now, i think its quite interesting, but i dont understand what the ether is? can someone explain. why do they need it and what is it.
Interaction from the Ether Tanks narrated by Eido.
**
Eido: Humans think of Ether as food for the Eliksni. A form of substance. That's only partially true. Ether also catalyzes physical maturation and promotes molting. In that sense, it's like hormones in Human adolescents. In a world of unlimited Ether, like Riis before the Whirlwind, all El...
oh wow, that helped out, thanks allot
damm i love this comunity, fast and straight to the point. all love to all my fellow lore nerds out there XD
We do love our lore here haha
i think destiny lore might be as big as star wars lore, maybe even bigger
Hmm... probably not. But Destiny has been around for years, and we've got a lot of hidden nooks and crannies for interesting lore.
Gods in Destiny are really just gods by title. They're not divine beings, just beings powerful enough to appear godly.
There's a scene within the game right now, where you and others are seen cheersing, and presumably drinking...
My hunter is an Exo.. I thought Exo didnt need to eat or drink? Am I missing something?
They do
They donât need to, but they can
It helps the subconscious feel human
I suppose in a way you could say that they need to, as if the subconscious is not sated with these human desires and experiences, it leads to Dissociative Exomind Rejection, which can be fatal
Cayde drinks in the trailer for Red War/Destiny 2
He also likes ramen a lot
So much that the shop has a picture of him in it
The same applies to any guardian as well.
They don't need sleep or anything but will still do those things because it's the healthy thing to do
Could we not just
Restore permadead guardians by giving them new ghosts?
Or is that not how it works
What are the requirements for being rezzed for the first time?
Being chosen by the Ghosts/Light
we like to say Devotion inspires
,
inspires sacrifice, and sacrifice leads to death
It has never once happened before and the implication is that it simply cannot.
As for being rezzed the first time, it's a bit vague. Most Ghosts believe they have a singular Chosen, their one and only pairing whom they have an inexplicable innate feeling for.
Others believe otherwise, and Tianshi's experience with Shin suggests that perhaps Ghosts could resurrect any one person, whether their intended Chosen or not.
The Guardian Creed says has the whole Devotion, Bravery, Sacrifice, Death thing that Dova referenced. This does seem to come into play a lot, but on the other hand,
sure
Fynch is a good example of this
he found his Knight too cruel and just decided to not resurrect him anymore
there have been quite a few occurances of this
Yeah i remember that
Damn witch queen was what
Like
Wait is it ever explained why the praxic blade can be recalled?
Magnets maybe
That or we are just that cool
Lore wise I would say is that the praxic blade comes with a special feature to return to the users anything he throws it
One might argue whether lightsaber throwing is even canon to begin with
My gripe with lightsaber throwing has always been how goofy it looks with just the single blade one.
At least the dual sabers look cooler when thrown
It is tho. It always has been.
In Destiny? Where you gather that from
Hasnt been seen in a cutscene and not in any loretab either afaik
I should start saying Praxic Blade but I will probably just stick to lightsaber lmfao
Is nezarec still in Mithrax?
echo of riis cured him
I see, I wasnât sure if it just like slowed it down/weakened the curse or fully rid him of it.
Thanks.
Yes. But locked away in a corner of his mind.
The echo of Riis expelled nezarecs influence but he did say some part of nezarec was still there.
Nezarec is the embodiment of fear and nightmares. He's not something that can be "cured" but instead can be contained and sealed away.
Yeah I know he canât âdieâ, but I wasnât sure how itâs different with Mithrax, isnât he alive as long as heâs remembered and feared by someone?
Correct and he can manifest through that fear which is what was happening to mithrax.
But as I said before the Echo of Riis helped to expel him back into the corners of mithraxs mind where he would not be a threat
Oh so he just happened to choose Mithrax? I see
So he canât manifest through others?
He didn't choose mithrax. Mithrax was just the one who took the darkness onto himself when making the cure that woke Osiris after his time being trapped by savathun
Ahh
it's actually kind of terrifying that besides the Witness, Ghaul stands alone as the only individual to break down the Traveler and the City, and he did it without the Darkness
Can maya sundaresh shut up
solely carried by the technology of others
also is it really a triumph on his part if the traveler was just intentionally waiting and killed him instantly
Do we know who Dredgen Bane is?
A Guardian called Teben Grey
Oh ok that's Teben
i went and reread the lumina quest lorebooks cuz we got a wannabe dredgen showing up
and dredgen vale mention I suppose aunor would know about it
From my understanding of what Iâm reading, Teben was a confidante of Shin Malphur/Orsa Zyre/Dredgen Vale
Are there any lore books on Orsa that alias is only mentioned twice in the lumina one
This is just my headcannon
But the main reason why stasis is free in Destiny is because Guardians have started to learn stasis more and more till it became a standard
And the main reason why Strand isnt free is because its still hard for Guardians to learn and use it
(Just my headcannon even tho it has no relevance at all)
How do you guys think religions reacted to the arrival of the traveler
I bet they didn't
wow this chat is dead
I think there's a reference to Islam somewhere in Titan's lore? something about there being a change where they now pray in the direction of Mecca as if it were transposed onto the surface of the planet they are on, and not in the literal direction of the Mecca on earth
Can someone please update me on the lore. I havenât been updated since the season with the green Spider-Man power thingy
ok how much do you remember from lightfall
and how detailed would you like me to get
how much knowledge you have of the lore prior to lightfall would also be good to know
I wanna know everything like the back of my hand. I wasnât able to play the expansion but I do know that the traveler was under attack and we had to do something about it. Iâm familiar with the rest of the lore from the first game up until lightfall but I havenât dived deep into everything
we discovered Neomuna the Spire of the Watcher on mars. It is a city on Neptune that survived the dark age and was founded by an exodus ship, the Indigo. they soon discovered the Veil, a powerful darkness artefact that mirrors the traveller and harnesses the connected consciousness of every being in the universe. Experimenting with the veil, Maya Sundaresh and Chioma Esi (yes, the ones from Venus who were copied over 200 times by the vex) partly figured out how it worked, and how to use it as a power source for their new city. however, they were not alone. Vex are present on Neptune, and began clashing with Neomuna, and researchers started harnessing Vex technology too. This led to the development of Quicksilver, a realised and far more refined version of the SIVA the Indigo had on board, and the CloudArk, which used portioned off sections of the vexnet and the veil to create a digital space for citizens to live.
thats a biiig task and wont happen in one day
wont happen in a month.
but we can cover a good bit and you can become familiar with lore in a day
fast forward a century or two, and we (the guardian and Osiris) chase down the new disciple of the witness and former Emperor of the Cabal, Calus, to Neomuna. The Witness requires the Veil to connect to the traveller and enact its plan to create the Final Shape. While working to prevent this, we come in contact with the Cloud Striders Rohan and Nimbus, essentially superheroes who have used quicksilver to alter their bodies at the cost of their lifespan. We discover Calus is going to use a piece of technology called the Radial Mast to allow for the connection, so we track it down and Rohan sacrifices himself to blow it up
Fine by me
simultaneously, we discover a mysterious energy we name Strand, which acts as the web or strings of consciousness that tie all sentient life together. as we work to prevent Calus' goals, we discover they have developed technology that blocks all currently known light and dark energies, so we learn to manipulate strand in order to overcome this in a training montage that I have no opinions on.
Probably very varying reactions. Iâd imagine itâd cause a crisis of faith for some people. For others, they adapted with their religion to the Traveler and the Golden Age, as referenced by Deerset
And then ofc there was a great many who directly put their faith in the Traveler
we stop a taken incursion into the vexnet, and eventually Calus storms the Veil containment complex himself. we give chase and follow his path as Caiatl covers our rear, and meet him below the veil. there's a big boss fight, and we kill him. everyone celebrates for a moment, but then our ghost is hijacked by the witness, like it has done before in shadowkeep, and uses it to form the connection between itself, the veil, and the traveller. There is a battle above earth between coalition forces and the pyramids, featuring the traveller firing a beam of pure light into the witness' capital ship, which terraforms it and causes it to grow a very large Tree of Silver Wings. However, this is not enough, the witness approaches the traveller, and cuts a triangular portal into its surface, and enters. anyone who tries to follow ends up fused with their ship and dead.
but good news! turns out strand is literally anywhere there's life if you know how to see it. it was just extremely dense in Neomuna due to the large population and the presence of the Veil
as for the seasons, defiance didn't matter outside of Amanda dying, Deep followed the return of Titan, Sloane, and the proto-worm Ahsa, who bestowed upon us a vision of the witness' origins, and an expanded explanation of what the veil was thanks to the weekly logs that could be found. We were battling Xivu Arath's hive over control of titan. oh and also the Lucent Brood found part of the wreckage of the dreadnaught on the oceans floor, including the corpse of Oryx, and we're trying to force a ghost into resurrecting him.
Witch was my favourite season that year, we used the Sword Logic to battle Xivu and SavathĂťn's broods in her throne world to tithe to Eris in her ascent and acceptance of godhood as the Hive Goddess of Vengeance. She killed SavathĂťn herself and used her new morph and power to unleash a spell that expelled and barred Xivu from her own throne world, making her mortal at the cost of all the energy we built up the entire season
I'll stop for now with wish because I feel like I'm just kinda rambling at this point
in Wish, we ask Mara to bring the spirit of Riven so we could wish for entry into the traveller by way of the 15th wish, which we discovered by analysing the patterns on SavathĂťn's wings after new death at the hands of Eris last season. She says she'll grant it if we do her a favour, securing her eggs. We obtained one during the season of the witch from SavathĂťn's throne world, and Riven tells us where to find the others. we fight through Sol Divisive Vex to get there, only to find that they've been scattered through the ascendant plane. We chase them all down except for the last few, which we need to go into the Black Garden for. as we do, we learn of Taranis, Riven's mate. He was a benevolent Ahamkara who starved himself in order to grant the most accurate wishes he could, including doing something that kills an Ahamkara, wishing for something for themselves, a protector for his children. We find the last eggs with his skeleton and the Wishkeeper bow, a symbol of our fulfilment of that wish. Crow ends up being the one to make the wish, because his unique connection to Mara allows for him to communicate safe passage through the portal for the rest of us. Crow goes to the other side, and we all wait for a month or two for Final Shape to come out
god my fingers hurt
I'll probably start writing out the final shape stuff in like half an hour or whatever. also all of this is simplified and may not be entirely accurate as it's just based on my memory
Itâs alright take your time
@ivory berry
Final Shape. We follow through the portal, encounter the new enemy faction named the Dread, and land in the Pale Heart of the traveller. We fight our way through to an overgrown version of the Tower, where we encounter a strange pink puddle and access the perfect harmony of light and dark, Prismatic. We do some more fighting and eventually make it to the rendezvous point to meet with crow. except crow isn't there. Cayde-6 is. Unbeknownst to crow, he accidentally made a wish before going through the portal, which Riven granted with no twists. He wished Cayde could've been here to help, and so he is. We have a good conversation, crow comes back from scouting ahead, and we make our way forward. we find Ikora's crashed ship and eventually her by a tree of silver wings, and push forward again. every now and then we encounter Cysts of darkness where the witness attempted to carve and control the traveller, and we receive messages from it.
We find Zavala fighting at a recreation of his home before the city, defending the graves of his partner and son. (over the last couple years Zavala has begun losing faith and trust in the traveller, this is important.) We help out, blow up a big brig, and continue forward again. As we get closer to the Monolith the witness has constructed, the land becomes more corrupted. we crest a mountain and end up in recreation of the cosmodrome, and at the site of our resurrection, we gain a boon of the traveller in the form of a new super. Zavala grows tired and angry and heads out on his own after an argument, leaving us and Targe, his ghost, behind. We track him down to a trap set by the witness, and Zavala almost dies to it because of a trance-like state he ended up in because of a cyst. Targe sacrifices himself to save Zavala, but leaves him lightless in the process. We also learn that not all members who make up the witness agree with it, and they tell us that it can be harmed by their deaths.
We confront the witness ourselves, using a sword gifted to us from the traveller, and the power of the darkness to enter into the witness and cut down these dissenters, injuring it. At this point it retreats and the Raid Salvation's Edge happens, which further weakens the witness. Excision caps the main narrative off as literally everyone enters the traveller to help kill the witness, ending with Ghost being overcharged with light, us using him as Kamehameha, and the witness dying. Ghost also dies, but Cayde sacrifices himself to heal him and brings him back to life, as he was made of pure light. post campaign, we work with Micah-10 to help lost ghosts and generally celebrate.
man that's a lot for a short synopsis
i think I'll try to condense the episodes more
Cayde sacrificed himself to heal our ghost
We have some lore on this actually, from before the Ares-1 launch
A cult rose up iirc
Damn thanks for the lore dropđ basically avengers assemble and beat thanos type of deal. experiencing it would be great and all but the expansions costs money and having to be in a squad to do dungeons for the lore is a lot of workđ
Well, there's the free access week, at least
anyone else not care about the nine but are super interested in how they're writing them in renegades?
it would sound as though you are gaining an interest in them
and for the thing that I care about, MAAAN THERE'S NO ULAN-TAN MENTION IN THE DLC
I just realized Golden Gun with Nighthawk is literally "he killed four men with one bullet"
the third bird
Can we talk Renegades now? If so ||How was VI talking in the first mission of Renegades||?
he was talking through bael
Is the Thorn that the Guardian has a copy or is it Dredgen Yorâs
Is that the same for the d1 one as well
Yes
If we had the real Thorn, it would be one-shot perma killing Guardians
Stripping them of their Light
well it was un-thorned into Rose
And then mogged into Lumina
Which I think has a lil' more significance
Since it's truly just doin' the opposite of a thorn rather than piggybacking on thorn
Imagine the polar opposite
A gun that gives life
Btw, what are the balls Bael has on his belt that look like Ghost cores with green eyes?
Hive ghosts
Why does he have them?
No, the core is too different
A hive ghost core is like a hive flame marble
because he's killed them
to TRICK me into thinking he was cyrell
Its probably just normal ghosts ngl
Just green....
No he killed a Hive Ghost in his lore
The first time he ever killed a Ghost I believe
Yeah but we are talking about the ghosts on his fit specifically
I would also assume they're hive ghosts
Nah the core is too different
I'm sure he went on a bit of a rampage
Also the eye is a normal ghost eye
hive ghosts have like. weathering. on their irises
It looks just like a hive ghost eye, just without the green swirly magic in it
Still mad they never gave us a real ghost shell
They look so cool
Not my style personally but would love to see it added for the people who want it
I love it, I think the green eye is awsome
Wish we could have eye color options
Eh some shells have different eye colours
I know some ghosts have different colors but imagine being able to choose
Just a little thing that would be nice
The ghost from the season pass is really nice, it's simple but pretty
Is the new "sintering" lore book bugged?its all in a weird order and the last three entries i have are all duplicates, it goes 7, 8, 9, 1, 2, 2, 2
ah yea its known, wells hoot i want muh lore
damn
they rly left out good Bael lore in the campaign
sometimes I wish the game wasnt rated T sigh
He did take his anger out on a legionary. Something i didn't think they'd do because of ratings
erm it was a centurion
A cabal
yea fk that guy!
Though i am interested to see just what bael is capable of because he's the first non paracausal being since uldren to actually pose a threat to us and be dangerous.
He is just some dude with stasis. No ghost or anything and VI puppeting him
im assuming he has strand too
he did have the green ball things on his hip
idk wot they are tho
Those are ghosts
why they all green
Hive ghosts is what people say because he was attacked by a hive guardian and managed to kill them in the past
He's also extremly disfigured under his mask and armour. He ripped his own nose off and most of his body has been replaced with metal by VI
I just hope they dont do their typical redeeming arc story
Just like how Lodi once said his leg was turning into cadium
I don't think they will here. Bael is not a good guy. Disturbed yes but not good at all and is responsible for a tech that brutally wiped out many guardians and ghosts.
it's just that Lodi can function with all that happening to him because he was chosen, and Bael wasn't so he's having the usual reaction
~~kylo ren ~~ thanos type shi
Pretty much. Hell he even collects ghosts as trinkets as we saw and in general hates the guardians
yeah he might've been redeemable before spending decades in time dilation but now I very much doubt it
He might be able to be reasoned with but i don't see any good ending for him other than death
OR being locked away with VI inside him if that's what binding the nine is supposed to entail
Bit like that malicos guy from jedi fallen order who got sealed in the ground by that nightsister
Is Bungie aware that everything post Mother in the Sintering entries is missing from display?
yes
Do you think spider has a couple of guys trying to find his stash of ghost corpses
He fucking loves those things surely he'd be chomping at the bit
Wouldn't be suprised considering the black market involves us messing with the imperium and stealing loot from them
Spider sending out Varok to look into where Bael's ghost stash is
Though something i think might be of interest is, who is this father of baels? Bael imo doesn't sound that old so i think tex mechanica might need some looking at if someone high enough to be called a "magnate" is related to this guy
do you think he grabbed all the dead ghosts from the little theatre
A few
Enough to satiate himself, too few to be noticed
Hold the fucking phone
Nice try, nine
Don't tell me shin is the father and is secretly running the foundry that created his hand cannon for a "i am your father" moment
Not falling for that one
That wouldn't make sense
Shin has been constantly on the hunt within the system for any remaining dredgens
He's been too preoccupied with that to be operating any businesses
Or having any children
Plus TLW was Jarens gun prior
Not anymore for quite a while as he kinda handled that mantle to us. And who's to say Bael was thought dead after that hive guardian attack. Obviously this is an insane theory but it just got me thinking due to bael being a character who has a mother and father. Eido iirc is the only character we've seen the family of
I know but it is shins gun now and that pertains to this theory
technically the brays
True. It's been a long time.
Grandfather and the 2 granddaughters
Also, didn't we get the name of the dude acting as magistrate lol
Don't believe so. We were just told he's the son of a tex mechnica magnate
Theory aside i would like to see baels family because biological families are sadly a rarity in destiny
President, Cesar Bizet
Ok theory is now dead. I hope we get more from this ceser and if he even knows what happened to his son
It also matches since Nazaire Bizet is a French name
Well, Nazaire and Bizet are French first and last names
Bizet coming from Cesar, Nazaire coming from the renegade arms lore tab
french in charge of a cowboy company
Maybe that's one of the universe shifts from the destiny world
Or maybe it's like a westaboo situation where France got really into cowboy culture
the Louisiana purchase never happened.....
I was wrong
VI is The Alchemist but not the LOeN
VI used the sword logic as an example from LOeN
I was wrong
Sorry Retro
All good to have fun with theories haha.
Well I understand it now
Tbh I am quite upset that spider didn't get domed
I was blinded by the fact that VI had symbols similar to LOeN but they are different
LoEN is doing thing oryx mistakes for the winnower, a paracausal being on the level of god in destiny, The nine aren't paracausal so thye wouldn't be able to do that
Correct me if i'm wrong but did Jabba die at all?
Killed by Leia
choked out
Tbh I kinda just wanted to roll up to spider's den only to see him be blasted in 12 different places
spider deserves his happy ending of being the ultimate crime lord
especially if it means we never see him again
I wanted it to be like "yeah everyone thought he was pretty annoying so they all sent assassins after him so we dunno who did the actual deed"
Ok. Just wanted to know since spider is obviously inpspired by jabba. As for his fate i don't think he deserves it. He's a bad guy yes but isn't interested in world domination or anything. Bro just wants to laze around and make money. Mithrax has threatened him before so he knows his place
It's not even about whether or not he deserves it I just think it'd be very funny
Tries rolling up to be the newest big boss in town, fails spectacularly
He has told Blue that he lives for the life he lives and to stay still is to die
So the more he can gain the better
"to stay still is to die" then I must've been talking to a corpse for the last few years because this fucker has never gotten out of his chair
Oh he can move. He's just a lard boss who has everyone else do things for him
I wonder how things are gonna go with this guardian games now that he's out of the city
Wdym? spiders never been in the city. He's handled shipments sure but he's never been into the city
yes he has
He was in the outskirts and in the city
he was in the market district last year
Eliksni outpost and the last city location
Oh yeah the old bar place my b.
and the botza quarter before that
Where he handled the... Less tolerated gambling aspects of the games
Well i guess he is always free to come back and mithrax will let him in provided he behaves
Tbh eido would probably be more likely to crash out
Eido is too busy being lovey dovey with riliks atm
Not only is she way bigger now but she's also got the trauma of witnessing a guardian massacre, she's totally capable of flipping a switch and docking spider in the moment
And riliks is about to be in for quite a suprise when he finds out eido is the daughter to the kell of kells
"just one bad day"
"alright everyone, so I know we renounced our former beliefs in service of living out lives of crime... Buuut"
Bro sold his syndicate out for his crush
almost got killed by an acolyte, only for a ghost to try to resurrect it in front of him. his mother died and was cremated but was brought back as a guardian. when he saw her he hugged her out of instinct and she pushed him off herself and was very very cold towards him. and then he was also manipulated by VI into thinking he was the Chosen One
Nepobaby
he also generally disagrees with the political system of the city
he's honestly pretty justified in his hate but it was definitely exasperated to extremism by VI
he's just toeing the line of sympathy. he's very much a child that was used
Justifiable crashout but he definitely is not on a good path and he is desperate for approval which makes him easier for VI to manipulate
Nope
nope
Just some random ass teenager then
He is just a human. The son of a tex mechanica president
not a real Dredgen either. he was just researching them and adopted their philosophy
So he's definitely not getting that hand back
unless VI makes him a new one
Though VI is turning him into metal so could get a prosthetic
I was joking when i said nepobaby, but he actually is a nepobaby
he believes the Tex Machina philosophy is outdated and they should be focused on experimental weaponry
Bro doesn't like westerns. Kill em
I don't get the opening of this story. We get captured by the tractor beam and they apparently board us and and only take Drifter? Without us doing anything? And put him in Stasis? Then we get to go rescue him because they left us completely intact in the ship?
_>
No we chased drifter
I agree actually. Tex mechanic's niche is about antique designs, that's why people like em
we initially hid to keep the data disc safe
but once the coast was clear we began our infiltration
Bael was after drifter. I don't think he really cared about us until we started screwing up things for him.
Bael also wanted drifter to "teach" him as he said to aunor
Presumably more about being a dredgen
I wanna see the inside of a praxic blade
in the lore video, i constantly hear the word saul, but i cant seem to find out what it is?
Saul?.
Do you mean sol as in the solar system?
ahhhh yeah i think it should be sol
i am watching the video with subtitels so i think he translates that to saul
YT subtitles aren't good for really anything
i must say i dont mind them in the lore video right now
But just clarifying Byf is saying Sol as that's what we call the Solar system.
yeah thanks that clears it up very much for me thanks
Saul is actually the Ghoul's real name /j
Is bael using a voice filter to sound raspier?
probably the mask
you can sound rather raspy using nothing but a mask, given the right placement of air holes and material
I know he did that on purpose, i just cant prove it
He is very disfigured underneath
Tore his own nose off and most of his body is metal
He is in constant pain
Pretty much. But in this case it's a side effect of not being chosen by the nine. Lodi and Orin had this same experience but are still fine because they were chosen as emissaries
Bael has been picked becasue VI needs someone to carry out it's will and does not care how much pain it puts the individual through
So he's a pseudo emissary?
No because only VI can speak through him. And it's a very forced kind of thing
So yea, pseudo
I guess. A failed emissary although it's not like the other nine chose him
Again VI just needs someone
They're part of the outer orbits. They want to break free using a singularity and view us as "jailers"
So they want us removed
Yes but that's what the singularity is for. They believe if they can achieve that then they'll break free of that dependency
They want to exist on their own
Not through the life of something else
Understandable motive, but how are they willing to gamble everything on a singularity in the oort cloud?
How does a singularity even help them
his face is decaying so that probably has something to do with it
It's all about dark matter. It's been a long term belief by all members of the nine that if enough dark matter was gathered into a singularity that it'd be able to allow the nine to break free of their depndence on life.
Dont know how that would work, but im not made of dark matter, so i wouldnt know
The outer orbits though are doing this in a much more aggresive way and in EoF could have wiped out SoL had that black hole been left to grow
the outers have the same ideal of becoming independent, but they all have their own ideas on how to achieve this
And what happens if they fail. They just accept death?
pretty sure VII. or whatever one Neptune is I can't remember. is studying the traveller and the veil as they believe they can use them to restructure reality itself to free them
To use the veil to link with the traveler would require them to weild darkness
The outer orbits see paracausal being like us as in the way and so are more than willing to do anything to try and get rid of us. Like now with bael and the nightfall station. No guardians means they've got no one to stop them trying to open a black hole
VI is really trying to gamble everything on one singularity?
All the outers are
Are none of the inners doing anything?
The most outter huh?
the opposite
im banking on IV to bail us out
IX is the sun
no waayy
I guess it makes sense they wont care
They're chillin
IX knows it will die when the sun dies. it's just happy to shine on our armour
but it does relate to the traveller and actually likes humanity. not as much as III did though
I couldnt make that out during the meeting
They are helping us, as III did when telling what we needed to do
They all talk so fancy
III my GOAT
most of EoF IX was just crushing on Louis
whats 2 up to
No idea
What about 1
We haven't seen much from the inners yet. But again they aren't against us and will most likely offer help whenever possible
iirc we know pretty much what each outer is planning on doing
IV is our first outer "The Alchemist" that we're having to fight back against.
Saturn is using sword logic, Jupiter was trying to use Maya to gain control over the vex so it could use their infinite resources to build mass and develop into a star, I've already said what Neptune was planning
Wait isnt 4 an inner?
Sry mixed my numerals up
lol
I meant VI
who am I missing
yea it's why i used the arabic numbers
VIII/uranus
right
if the inners are so fond of humans, why dont they plan with us?
VIII is Neptune
oh yeah VII was just warning us not to trust the inners
Because only an emissary can channel them and if they don't want to talk then there's nothing we can really do
we don't know if they've even got a plan
All III told us was that we need to bind the nine and that the weapon "us" will do it
the inners operate on a need to know basis for us
We're starting to maybe figure what it means with binding the outers to individual bodies but haven't seen anything further on that front
they'll just intervene with outcomes to ensure we're on the right path rather than tell us what to do
Shows how differently they each tackle things
Outers are not nice members
if the nepo treatment is being groomed by an alien god sure
it's a very unpleasent relationship
I think it shows the outers are desperate
eh maybe. VI was "cheating" by their standards to get their way
Not desperate just impaitent more like.
They've been alive for eons
They're done with rules now
such is life
They aren't gods but their actions can mess with the whole solar system. LIke them orchestrating IIIs death has caused earth to change in a very bad way. One of the biggest mountain ranges in the world turned to copper, Oxygen is changing to carbon in certain spots, rain is purple, etc
They really want us to die
pretty sure there was an expert about the gold in Osiris' teacup becoming magnetised and sticking to his gauntlet
gold isn't supposed to be able to become magnetic.
As long as they get that freedom they don't care if we die or Sol is destryoed
oh and a cabal legionary saving a baby eliknsi because it.started to rain actual solid iron
I hate that kind of people
Oh where's this from
Which lore tab
I can't remember but it's recent
oh! compact defender
there's some really strange effects too like chalcos flute being pushed out of tune
don't even know how that happens
Is this one of the renegade guns
Yes
yeah it's the void sidearm
`An Eliksni hatchling chittered in delight, placing a ball in the oversized hands of an Ascendancy warrior.
Wind whipped viciously at their clothes, and the sky darkened without warning. He quickly scooped up the hatchling and ran for cover into the Hangar before shards of iron started falling from the sky.
The hatchling burrowed into his arms with a cry.
"Courage, little one," he murmured. "It's⌠only rain."`
the real concerning part is that it's all testimony from in or surrounding the city directly
Zavala mentions that the place that's been affected the most is the great lakes though
which is troubling because we're going to Chicago very soon
Purple water maybe
So just for context the mountain range that turned to copper on earth is called the Andes. It's the worlds largest mountain range outside of Asia.
This whole thing turned to copper
This range is taller than the US.
Like just a big chunk of copper?
At least we'll have plenty of material for wiring
Also when it rains iron, iron and copper are both quite conductive so lightning is a serious danger.
imagine the amount of lighting
yeah
Oh! Fun
also the Andes are relatively close to the city too
You have a continent sized lightning rod that could very easily start a forest fire next to it
oh and in Tharsis you can get a news story on the terminal in the market about how mosquitos are dying off en masse due to altered iron levels in mammals
That's one silverlining
I mean. is it?
the amount of iron in our blood is changing. we need iron because it's how we transport oxygen
Mosquitoes dying while sure cool but it's not for the right reason
Wait are the iron levels dropping?
Yes
also mosquitos are a very important food source for birds and bats
it just says altered
How are the mammals still walking with such a decreased iron levek
Well it's prolly the food chain, Bird and rabbits don't get enough iron, bigger animals don't get much from them and so on
Chain reaction
That can lead to heart faliure
Oh fun
and also liver cancer
