Well the whole point is that itâs entirely controlled by the user
It can spread if you are lax in your control of it
Is dragons breath fire solar light or fire
Can you have arc light power something for an infinite time?
The vast vast vast majority of weapons are just normal weapons
He feels the warmth radiating from the roasting heartwood above; Light still crackles in the ember-split wood. His Light. Left alone, it would destroy this old pine, consume it from the inside out. Saladin anchors the Light to his core and commands it to return, dousing the burn. The tree will heal, and today's wound will fade. This gouge marks a point of struggle surpassed, and given enough time, will fade into familiarity.```
Doesnât the exotic perk of dragons breath specifically mention a normal fuel
Why does void light provide illumination I thought it was supposed to be like a null energy
Because itâs a fake version made of
Yknow
Light
Only if you were chained to a generator. It still needs to come from somewhere.
Vex are great at making generators idk why we havenât co opted all their systems
That just reads like some sort of retcon to me. First one is from The Red Box entry and the larger one is from the Fragment
But itâs light the paracausal energy not the sense we understand illuminating light via photon waves
So you couldn't just create an arc orb and just have it stay there
Yes and light the paracausal energy still is illuminating
Dragon's Breath was created by Crux/Lomar, a weapon foundry. As such, it isn't a paracausal artifact. It'd be regular flame.
The traveler literally glows
Does that mean we can know that photon particles are a component of Light
At the very least
For the record the elements are entirely separate from Guardians using Light
those things just exist
You just shape the light into the elements
So the elements exist and Light is more-so the capacity to wield them kind of like bending in the avatar universe
Guardians specifically shape Light (a power that encapsulates the physical universe) into scientific things weâre already familiar with
I wonder, can you make a soft solar couch that's lukewarm to the touch
I don't see how.
For the record, the Ishtar Sink quote might be from the Golden Age. Ghost Fragment entries often have information the Guardians aren't actually aware of.
the only kinds of ârawâ light we really use is basically just warlock rifts and titan barricades
Do energy weapons matching a Hive lightbearerâs super do more damage when theyâre in their super?
I wanna see more of raw light usage
Like with guardians
they donât use weapons when theyâre in their super
No we do
Would healing grenades be raw light
They just use their super
Huh you mean like
In PvP elemental weapons deal more dmg to guardians in super of the matching element
Do they?
Is it the same for hive lightbearers in super
They did at least at some point
I have never known this to be the case
which barricade? Wouldn't the void one no longer be pure light since it adds void shit to it
Void is a bit of an amalgamation energy. Gravity, vacuum, and more. Not all of it is... null.
Plus, Void and Void Light aren't the same. Light takes on aspects of natural energies when we wield it.
Yes because thatâs specifically using a void fragment on the void subclass
Youâll notice it doesnât have any elemental properties by default
Itâs the same barricade on every Titan subclass unless you specifically pick something that adds an elemental effect
itâs just a basic light projection otherwise
Osirisâ echoes were light, werenât they? They just happened to be yellow?
If you combined void arc and solar light together would the colour be white since white is the result of all wavelengths overlapping
what's the difference between a fragment ability and the other abilities
you canât really
Thatâs because his clothes were yellow
That's actually a bit of a point of contention. Some are Light and some are Tech and we have no idea which is which because there are two different terms which have been interchanged.
Also we were on mercury where the sunâs rays through the atmosphere tinted everything in a yellowy orange hue
As a result of improperly cropping things, I missed part of the The Red Box quote from Season 6: "We salvaged information from a Ghost on Venus, in the Ishtar Sink. It described an artifact found by our Golden Age ancestors..." It's directly referencing the Fragment stuff
Like bleak watcher is a cabal turretâs targeting system frozen over by stasis
Idk if aspects just exist to give your guardian inspiration or are actually needed to function though
I would imagine probably just the former
Me with a frozen vex harpy in my pocket as a catalyst to use grim harvest
and itâs just a reflection of the gameplay
Theoretically you should just be able to use every aspect and fragment always
Ah, true. Still, what is the retcon you describe?
Why can enemy factions use light elements in their weapons and gear or shields
Because as I described earlier, Light is simply taking on the forms of these natural energies.
They aren't using Light.
So anyone can use the energies
they are, as i said, normal aspects of the universe
Allow me to show you a visual representation
Perhaps retcon wasn't the right word. More like, reconciling? the difference between the small box as described in the Fragment lore and the larger one found in game and redescribed in the Season 6 lore entry
for the record "Arc energy" isn't just one specific thing
Personally I see the fragments/aspects are just gameplay
it's a type of energy that includes things like electricity and also fission
Do they still do this level of visual lore in weapons?
sometimes!
Or atleast cool details
Not really. But people would probably say something about "reusing assets" if they did this, despite how cool it is.
Has omolon ever made a kinetic weapon
Psion psychokinesis is counted as a type of void energy because it's indirectly a manipulation of normal gravity, for example
No, but there are modified Omolon weapons which are Kinetic. Hung Jury was a Dead Orbit modification.
Oh yeah
and just in general all omolon primaries in D1
Tlaloc was kinetic right?
Ah I suppose there's the D1 stuff
or am i misremembering
Couldnât you theoretically modify any omolon weapon by removing that energy pack attached to it
And make it kinetic
Imagine a kinetic light subclass
I imagine that depends on the weapon. Omolon uses liquid ammunition and you can see it sloshing around within the gun, already coloured to the relevant element.
Like the Iconoclasm weapon
i mean kinetic omolon is essentially just an ammo pack that's just liquid going fast enough to deal kinetic damage
it's literally just a lethal water gun
Vex milk omolon
that's just divinity
To be honest D1 weaponry is a bit of a lacking point in my knowledge, since I never actually used those weapons
In Destiny 1, we have the Aachen-LR2, the Cydonia AR1, and the Inverness-SR2 for kinetic
but those are blue and green
Shame
majority of them were as the kids say mid
aside from that, yeah, hung jury
i still miss fabian strategy though
Tlaloc was a scout rifle that had the mantle of battle harmony perks but on steroids
And was warlock exclusive
this is the most chatgpt destinypedia description ive ever read
destinypedia in big 2025
I miss dregs promise
Tlaloc starts out as an average Scout Rifle with no unique properties. It is perfectly serviceable, but doesn't have much utility otherwise. However, given enough time, for the moment the player's Super is fully charged, Tlaloc's exotic perk, Overflow, starts to kick in.
Using this strategy, the weapon becomes a formidable killer of both minions of the Darkness and other Guardians in the Crucible.
Plan C is irrelevant since backup plan can be a common perk on legendary fusions
pfff
gallons of water for this
It was overflow as in its damage was boosted by having full super and massively boosted all your weapon stats. Not the picking up ammo doubled your magazine and auto reloads perk
the page says otherwise
what if it got backup backup plan as a perk
It gives considerable bonuses to stability, handling, and rate of fire all at once without any reduction in damage. The most common tactic was for the player to use the super, Radiance, and hold onto self revive until needed.
Tlaloc synergized really naturally with Self Res since you would be holding onto your full super anyways
tlaloc with memory of felwinter for the knowers
i wish they did random bullshit like that again
Plan C brought back but it makes the charge time instantaneous to separate it from backup plan. So it fires a hip fired bolt spread immediately upon swapping to the weapon
like the one that just had a chance to mind control enemies
idk why that would ever come up ever but it was funny
They should bring back Hereafter. Sniper that causes large AoE blind on a headshot kill
No Cloudstrike does damage
Itâs blind was funny it was like tv static and muffled your audio
uhhh
are there any exotics that do blind
its all just jolt isnt it
oh right overture
wait is that arc blind
think so but you can easily achieve it with the blind on headshot fragment
or disorienting
Special weapon kill blind and headshots trigger more blinds or something
do normal colossus do arc blind??
They should bring back Universal Remote
that's spread hand cannons
that's spread hand cannons yeah
fucking long as fuck range
what the fuck were they thinking man
no spread infinity range
There was also Patience and Time, the sniper that made you invis while crouching and adsing
Omg I forgot Super Good Advice
I also heard there was this terrible gun nobody liked called the Jelly Horn or something
Super Good Advice was a solar machine gun that returned missed shots to the magazine and auto replaced landed shots back to the magazine from reserves
I.E. better Mulligan
Yeah
Why would you waste your exotic slot on a heavy?
Essentially mulligan + rewind rounds
Uses ergo sum with wolfpack rounds while my friends use the sword glitch
i want it to turn into final warning but LMG
refund missed shots?
My damage: 11
Their damage: 999,999
gjally hoo
Imagine a shotgun exotic that had its bullet spread be projectiles that were recalled back to the barrel when you hit reload. Also armor piercing rounds. So you could shoot a target and it pierces through them and when you hit reload it pierces through them again as they return to you
And maybe it does more damage when hitting targets from behind
To incentivize the recall feature
isnt that just titan hammer
I didnât know this weapon existed or understand its gimmick bc I havenât done kells fall
yes
it shoots a slug that explodes when it hits a target
and overpenetrates
(it explodes into buckshot, for clarity)
Are its catalyst perks any good
pretty fun
pretty decent
its an alright gun all around
I once theorycrafted an exotic sniper rifle with a stupid gimmick using magnetism
I called it Dipole Fission and kills with it would grant you a magnetized rounds that infused a polarity into enemies hit. Holding reload toggled between positive and negative polarity. When two opposing polarized enemies were within 5m of each other it triggered a big vortex AoE grouping enemies. And when two matching polarized enemies were within 5m of each other, it triggered a knockback AoE
that sounds insufferable i'm ngl
Extremely niche and gimmicky
It would probably function better if it could toggle between arc and void as well and the vacuum caused arc blind and the knockback caused volatile
Just sounds as bad as launch stasis ngl
It would be meant for PvE not PvP
I'd rather die than go up against that fucking thing
Thatâs why itâs for PvE and itâs activation requirement is too steep for PvP
How often in PvP would you have a good shot at multiple enemies before dying or have enough ammo to take such a shot. And remember the special rounds require a kill beforehand to even polarize you
I think it would be too clunky for PvP
actually snipers have a fuck ton of ammo in pvp right now
two shots per brick
now's the time to be goated
where wrath takes place, whats the point of the complex aksis holes themself in
It's where he was turning himself into a cyborg. The "perfection" complex. Aksis is an archon, that is the eliksni equivalent to be on the verge of godhood and the eliksni belive that by fusing themselves with machines they can ascend into this godhood
<@&1019968308973416448>
Bonk em
daelln has been banned!
Whats the lore on vespers host
Yes
The only thing I know is that a Clovis Bray station got corrupted and we had to go there and The Nine had something to do with it
and Lodi somehow was mentioned and yes
An entity known as "The Corruption" (likely Vex in origin) took control over the last copy of Atraks-1 and turned her into the Puppeteer. It would then gradually assimilate the minds of the House Salvation deserters who sought a new life at Vesper Station until all of them were under its control. Then, the Puppeteer would use them to create the Anomaly (the big portal-looking thing)
Vesper Station itself was a secret sister Station to the Morningstar. It's purpose was to house Clovis' more dangerous and secretive experiments including one involving an AI made with Vex tech meant to infiltrate the Vexnet. Clovis had basically neutered Astraea, the station's AI, so she wouldn't be able to protect the Station and its crew properly. Clovis had also planned on crashing the Station onto Europa's surface as to hide what went on there, but that never came to pass due to the Collapse.
have you ever noticed that the people who use the term "Lore Accurate" have no idea what that actually entails
Yeah itâs really quite annoying đ
Lore Accurate Guardians can use any class ability and all elements at once and have no Super cooldown!!11!!!
meanwhile lore accurate guardian, impaling their foot with their first arc staff after being rezzed months ago and taking a trauma break
Lore accurate Guardian: oh wow, check out my Cluster Bomb Bad Omens!
metah
lore accurate guardians be like: d a n c e

Your face is lore accurate
Dont most lore accurate guardians spend their time fucking around not doing much
Yes. We love to hang at bars after being outside for so long
Saint likes feeding pigeons and walking through the city
Crow is an alcholic
that's a constructive hobby
That's the nicest thing anyone's said about it đ„ș
I feel like famous generals and leaders are not rare revive choices for ghosts because their bodies are usually preserved and entombed with care
Like pharoahs and important egyptians in the pyramids would give choice paralysis
It's possible, yes. But the Collapse also destroyed much of Humanity, surely including much of our structures - not to mention that many have worn down from the sheer age of millennia.
The Golden Age and Dark Age are both unknown periods of time both measuring in centuries, so any number of things could have happened to the bodies within any given tomb.
Ghosts don't really get to choose either
I'm surprised we haven't had any more echoes come out of the traveler or have found any inside it, since the inside of the traveler is it's own thing created from memory, so I wonder if we'll ever see any more echoes and see how they work, but then again, I'm spitballing
That's true, but they have options to sift through
True. I think tho most big shot tombs like genghis khan are still around
Maybe cleopatra too
I'd like to believe after the collapse something as old as the pyramids wouldn't have survived.
And even during the golden age I wouldn't be surprised if old structures like that would have eventually withered away or even been swept away in the terraforming the traveler did.
They kinda plunged the earth into an apocalypse
More than just using gravity weapons
sword logic go brrr
Stone henge, pyramids of Egypt, notre dame. Probably so old they'd be turned to dust just from time passing even
In the Golden age we'd absolutely work to preserve them
And we absolutely could
Stonehenge and the pyramids would last
Notre Dame may need repairs
Or maintenance
Collapse absolutely ruined them though
The structured probably were wrecked in the carnage, but i feel like the bones of some random pharoah would have lasted
hm
Bones probably. But remember pharoahs were buried in tombs so during the collapse those tombs would have been torn apart sealing off anyway to get in. They'd be truly buried forever.
we do know more than 3 echoes were ejected from the traveler
only 3 stayed in the solar system as far as we know
conveniently those echoes are echoes related to civilizations that are present in the solar system and were destroyed by the witness directly or indirectly
so i dont think i would expect any more popping up
A cinematic shows iirc 8 echoes with one apparently being destroyed on collision with something.
But I would take a representative cinematic with a fistful of salt
Ain't Maya's echo someone not from the solar system
^^^
Commander of... I forgot the species name
yeah but the qugu were deleted specifically by savathun's brood
The qugu. A race consumed by the hivi
That's the bitch yeah
i think the point still stands idk
the others are gone for a reason and probably are on a course for their original homeworlds
One of them is fucking oryx
I personally don't think we'll be seeing more echoes. The whole echoes plot was supposed to be an epilogue to the witnesses defeat and what would set us up for how our future would change. Which heresy did.
It's a neat possible future plot point
Maya still holds an echo yes but I don't believe we'd have any more echoes used as plotlines
The narrative fringe I think the lead called it
maya is also explicitly losing control of said echo right now and her whole thing is kind of wrapping up
so the plotline is on its way to being put to bed probably
ngl im still excited to see what they do with the story now since the whole plotline of a group of vex gaining individuality itself is kind of symbolic of the dark and light saga ending
I reckon Maya will die within next year
we ended the dark and light saga and further rewrote the rules of the 'game' by finding another way to exist and championing the philosophies of light and dark at the same time, and now the vex are starting to change instead of being stuck in the loop of representing the flower game before paracausality
the whole new arc of the nine reminds me a ton of Albert Camus
honestly a ton of destiny seems very albert camus
Universe is changing. IIIs death has set off a chain reaction that we don't actually know the full effects of. The narrative head at bingie even said that we would feel this sense of creeping dread as time went on after IIIs death
Apparently the rain is purple
And earthquakes and stuff
Like genuine changes are happening to earth
like genuinely read an analysis of Camus' "The Myth of Sisyphus"
the themes of Absurdism as he calls it feel almost 1:1 with the edge of fate arc
III was connected to earth in a way that you could almost call a member of the nine the planet themselves.
A "gaiaform" is another way to describe it, a planet as a living being.
the idea that Sisyphus lives "with the certainty of a crushing fate, without the resignation that ought to accompany it." is like literally the arc Ikora, Orin and Lodi all went through
while the drifter has fallen deeper into nihilism with the realization that his entire life he believed he was circumventing the fate the traveler forced on him and was just having his fate interfered with by the nine instead
i wonder how much of Camus the writers are referencing with destiny writing honestly because so much of the story seems to just repeat the same interpretations of existentialism
the entire point of the traveler in the story has been to grant humanity power yet not grant them meaning and see what happens trusting that they'll do the right thing and establish their own meaning of existence instead
what if we have to let the now individualized vex that are going to inevitably ally with us convert earth to stop it from rotting without its 'soul' lol
I don't think they'd do that. These vex honestly look like they want to be left alone and do their own thing. No interest in converting other places into vex architecture or anything
We just leave them to play cards and chat amongst themselves
idk as of right now the first one we've directly interacted with immediately requested asylum
and the tharsis reformation seems more like a commentary on something like how ex-cons struggle to find legitimate work due to having low trust but also can't gain trust due to having low trust
given they gained sentience and freedom and immediately start doing crimes
i could see it being an allegory to adam and eve as well
they gained the knowledge of right and wrong and the first thing they did was create clothes for themselves
and now they're subjectively seen as committing sins
sol divisive already sort of went with biblical references instead of greek mythos and the choral vex are even more darkness and light influenced than them
We don't know if they're actually doing crimes though. Underground doesn't always mean illegal and if they ask us to steal supplies from other gangs that's fair game because those supplies were already stolen to begin with.
We're not helping them steal from the city we're probably just helping them be able to sustain themselves and to maybe build their own place they can actually live if they truly wish to be like other civilisations.
they're literally called a crime syndicate lol
they do crime
Sorry I should rephrase that. "Crime" to them might not mean the things we think because as vex who are still learning they might not understand what is a true crime if that makes.
Lets say you steal from someone, the person you stole from is the worst scum of the planet kind of bad. But you still stole and stealing in its base definition is a crime. So these vex could possibly see it like that.
Do they?
Pretty sure you just like
See one and go "oh finally thats the one"
damn are they in a relationship or
Reading Destiny Rising lore tabs and found chaperone's. Turns out that timeline's amanda died as a kid, and a squad from the main timeline acknowledges this. Something about "project clotho"
I'd be very wary about taking anything from Rising too seriously, but yes, Rising "Project Clotho", which is about sending people to other timelines to pick up exotic weapons
Which, if you ask me, is just a cutesy way to get guns in that shouldn't exist without having to bother with lore explanations
Crimson's lore tab is basically identical except it adds something about needing to pay a debt off and then someone arrives there to offer to pay it off in exchange for the gun
It doesn't really work as tying the timelines together because it can't be the weapons from our timeline that they have
Otherwise we wouldn't have Chaperone and Crimson ourselves, y'know?
Obviously, it's just alternate versions of the same weapon
It's moreso i treat it as its own self contained terrarium compared to destiny 2, but some story beats here and there raise an eyebrow
Guys, is this whatâs going to happen to earth after 3 died?
Yeah
^^^
Give it maybe a couple years and we'll probably have to stop the earth exploding
Wdym? The traveler isn't as big as you might think compared to even something like the moon.
it still looks pretty massive in the pic i posted
Oh don't get me wrong it is definitely massive but compared to planets and other things in space it is quite small.
I miss seeing the traveler in the sky
I mean the Traveler has historically changed size depending on the scene plenty of times
Simply a stylistic choice
Most things of space scale are very inconsistent in Destiny
Indeed
Most things of in space scale are very inconsistent in Destiny
Hello!
Hello
I have a whole thing typed out! So dont be alarmed, also not that long
I'm try to come up with a new destiny name and I'd like to have something tied to Eris morn. But I'm not sure of the naming convention i could use to complement who she is.
Example: omnigul being the "will of crota" im trying to have a name like that but have it fit and be correct.
Titles i tried, "the scholar of", "will of" but not really sure what would fit..
What im going for: Lawliet, [fill in text here] of Eris Morn
Well considering Eris is for all intends and purposes a hive god of sorts you can fit do a lot of things into that gap
If you want to stick to the main narrative you could simply go with 'Knife' since thats just what she calls us, her Knife
Acolyte perhaps?
Knife is a good shout too
If it isnt Eris giving advice on how to name a character headcanon-related to Eris
Amazing
Hang on lemme go consult the DLV
Oooh yeah she does refer to us as so!!
Oh boy we're calling together The Committee for that one aint we
I considered acolyte as well but it has meaning kinda in destiny already
She does refer to us as her acolyte back in Season of the Witch
Oooo i missed that! So it does fit
my personal theory is that it literally changes size
the traveler is aura farming consciously
So ive got
Lawliet, Knife of Eris Morn
Lawliet, Acolyte of Eris Morn
Awesome!!!! Thank you very much Alex and Eris!! Now i have to narrow down what one to pick
Knife rolls a lot better i feel
Because my handle is too long for bungies name slot. I went with and was able to fit "L, Beloved Acolyte of Eris"
It's a god made of something we don't understand. It can change size for cinematic reasons, as a treat
Actually Fenchurch the reliable source says it smells like vanilla
I'm trying to send a message about it but apparently it's not allowed in the server >:(
It makes sense that the traveller can adjust it's physical dimensions at will so that it doesn't cause any gravity-based issues on the planets of varying sizes it inhabits
Fenchurch of the hidden? Yeah I trust him
Do we know if he actually went into the pale heart or if there's confirmation of it smelling of vanilla? I feel like I saw smthn about that somewhere during tfs
Funny how we had little reason to actually believe him here, but then lore from Sundered Doctrine armor pretty much confirmed it
i like how he's called drifter and hasn't moved from his spot in like 5 years
It already doesn't do gravity actually
i like to think it was purely coincidental and Fenchurch was really just bullshitting though
what if the pale heart is from where all the eververse shit comes from
and its just the traveler wanting us to have cute armor as a treat
and picked fenchurch as the Dripster
Actually is there any reason silver coins wouldâve been popular in the golden age
Like I know theyâre just microtransactions shit but why give them a lore description at all
The lore for them is outright wrong
Like it can't be factual
It describes it as awoken technology from the golden age
which, yknow
Not

It said Reef settlements, not Awoken specifically
It's very possible that humanity had some settlements in that area during the Golden age
Doesnât the reef only exist because thereâs ship graveyards to tie to the asteroids
Maybe they said Reef as a way of saying "what would become the Reef"
Well we still tried strong arming others didnât we
Like Titan or Europa
Even if the traveler just gave them breathable atmospheres which Iâm actually unsure about
Is it possible for savathun do to the Im osris thing again ? Or she uses someoneâs else
Possibly?
We dont really know how she did it so it was likely just 'hive magic' meaning she could probably pull it again
And sheâs extra pissed at us now so this will be interesting
Iâll keep a eye out for Lodi XD
Drifter
Still has the light
Drifter doesn't appear in this thread, we just like saying his name
did savathun kiss saint
Where did the term vex milk come from?
its white
thats about it
be thankful its not anything else
Dawning ingredients
it was just called juice before then but i suppose the holiday spirit does a lot to people
It's simply because it is white. Like milk. It's just a colloquial name for radiolarian fluid.
Rolls off the tongue a bit better
Probably not
Osiris was a little more distant and it was chalked up by everyone to be grief over Sagira
savathun should've kissed saint and also liked it i think this would add considerable depth to the characters and the lore and be widely regarded as a good move and make no one angry
Praydeth: still in the vault with a group of Ishtar people and has been on a cliffhanger for 11 to 12 ish years.
His data is free in the network, as are the 227.
Well, I hope he shows up in lore again or something. Maybe cycle breaker or something, idk.
Yeah, but I mean become a plot line or something, since their might be something with Elsie or maybe it something else.
they're just there really
they have nothing actively going on right now so it's hard to really focus on them without something acting on them first
Praydeths whole story kinda ended after we discovered his bones back in the D1 paradox mission.
His name was mentioned recently sure but it's not enough to have anything come out of it
is it really a cliffhanger if his story has ended
Aspect lore book though kinda implies he actually got out
A lot of stories from D1 are sadly becoming a thing of the past. Like with the new dredgen in renegades you might think shin malphur would be involved but in the lore he doesn't seem to be as crazy anymore about hunting guardians who have fallen to the corruptive power of a weapon of sorrow
Shin's work is done
we don't need him anymore
Exactly.
He has given that duty to us now with the last word. His plan to utilise dark weapons worked even with some guardians going over that edge like Jana 14
Still nothing on her yet btw
YES WE DO
I mean our LW is just a replica
what is last wish a replica of
It is specifically the original
You clown
I am reaching across time and space to call you misinformed
?
So Shin just left his og gun behind and the hive picked it up and tried to turn it into a Weapon of Sorrow??
Thereâs literally an entire lorebook dedicated to him gifting it to us yes
Wasnt that regarding Thorn? The much more delicate item in the mix
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/vi-a-gift-and-a-touch-of-gray#book-letters-from-a-renegade
â
The gun came to you? How does it feel in your grip? Few can light its fire, but any reborn of the Light can call its name. That's a secret I'm bound to hold. Just know you've earned it, and you've earned it true. The cannon you hold is yours, but it is no replicaâit is a gift from a friend.
I've hunted agents of the Darkness for longer th...
No
The gun came to you? How does it feel in your grip? Few can light its fire, but any reborn of the Light can call its name. That's a secret I'm bound to hold. Just know you've earned it, and you've earned it true. The cannon you hold is yours, but it is no replicaâit is a gift from a friend.
The literal minute we get Thorn we work on purifying it also that came out months later in opulence
LW was back in black armory
I was not able to DM that user, but that can't stop the banhammer.
godkid3314 has been banned!
Anyway
Okay so Shin left his legendary gun somewhere unsecure enough so that the Hive would get their hands on it
I mean he also left the original thorn in the hands of Jana at one point, so
What a lad
He just kinda sucks at his job
Should have let the hive have it and make another weapon of sorrow
True but then again he do be a baller
So he is forgiven
I would like more actual hive guns
You mean Skyburners oath type shit
Yeah
I think the last one we got was technically Ex Diris
Which was just a ramshackle copy made by Eris
I want that splitting fire gun that knights have sometimes
Or how about we pull a Kovik and put an ogre eye on a gun
New meta dps lmg
Isnt that technically the same type of shit Ex Diris is just in a different fire mode?
Like dont all hive Knight guns look the same
I never paid too much attention to them but they look similar
Not at all whatsoever
They also have cool axes
They should give us the Cabal flame thrower
Including the backpack that nukes half the map if an enemy shoots it
I would unironically love some kind of self destruct ability
I loved nuclear detonation in Titanfall 2
first exotic crossbow is gonna be one of these or one of the scorn ones im calling it
Supernova?
Also speaking about hive weapons we could also get that smaller weapon acolytes use that fires void.
eh i mean
hypernova
Looks like a halo needler.
whatever the strand smg is called
thats basically a shredder
i mean i just dont think we need another rapid fire hive exotic primary
i want more unique things like the previously mentioned solar crossbow
the hobgoblin sniper rifle is just a lfr
Wait a minute
do guardians who have lost their ghost age?
Cause like, eris has been around for ages right?
Zavala was able to fele the effects of aging after he lost Targe
Interesting
Eris does have her throne world but then osiris/zavala and the works it makes sense
They do go back to aging technically yeah
I wonder if Eris died from old age, whether she would remain old in her throne world or go back to a previous age

Like if she was old, and died from being old, wouldnt she get stuck in a loop
Good question but afaik none we have an answer to
Gotta get bungie on the phone rn for real
i'd assume at some point in all the hive magic she would've stopped aging
i'd guess around the time of that whole becoming a hive god part
Yeah it would make sense if she managed that
I meant more of managing to fix aging
Drifter's ghost is insane
On the other hand, and completely different topic, is there like a name for elite groups of Elkisni?
Or some term like Splicers being meant for machinery n whatnot
groups? not really i think?
titles are usually individual i think
there's houses, obviously, but outside of that it's just the ranks
Hm dang, ill just have to come up with some random thing myself then, wanna do more concepts for destiny stuff.
the eliksni weren't exactly well positioned to create elite teams
Yeah, cause I know apparently on neomuna they have the "Vex Strike Force" although idk if theres any lore behind that
or it just sounds cool
Probably the latter
vex strike force is just like
you
that's you
you're the strike force against the vex i think
ah here it is
I thought it was a strike force of Vex attacking the CloudArk?
Like, "why does the Vex Strike Force drop exotic armor"?
I basically wanna make some different concepts of these for different planets and post em so maybe someone at bungie sees it.
And also its fun to come up with random ideas and stuff
I know theres a few cases of people getting hired for making fan stuff like animations and whatnot but not my goal really, just want certain neglected parts of the game to improve
Like archon?
I know archon and them are like ranks, but I mean more like an individual group of Elkisni
Like a squad
Ohhh
Cause Splicers are the machine guys n whatnot
I don't believe so
Hmm dang yeah
There might be some obscure flavour text out there
Yeah id have to really dig lol
I suppose it would be a crew led by a Baron it seems.
"Most of the Barons encountered seem to be a variant of Fallen Captains, ranging from the height and strength of a normal Major or Elite Captain to having a towering height that could rival that of an Archon, and are usually found protecting an important objective or leading an assault in missions and/or strikes."
They also command one or more skiffs
An Elite Captain could also work
Syndicates don't really follow the regular House system, so what defines "baron" in Spider's syndicate and the Scorn could be a little different
Spider actually scoffed at the idea of being called a Baron once
Seated on the floor, wrapped in the tattered white cloth of his burial shroud, the man once known as Prince Uldren Sov looked up to the wide shadow Spider cast in the doorway. He rose to his feet, then bowed. "Baron," he said mistakenly, unaware that Spider neither held no such a title, nor led a great house. Spider's response was a smug laugh, though he tried to temper it behind smiling words.
in Spider's case, it's more of a misapprehension of who/what he is according to others
He seems to have claimed the title since at least
i love that hes deadass just fat
excess ether doesnt make you fat
bozo just is tony soprano on god
I like the idea that the nine hasn't directly fucked with the guardian at all because they can 4th wall break and tell there's some sort of external interference behind them
Considering literally every raid except like leviathan is supposed to be an impossible lock and story-wise we show up and make the exact key to that lock with a Dremel first try
I don't understand this explanation?
The nine have absolutely directly messed with us. They enabled the red war to happen, yes we weren't the exact target but it was still their actions that caused us to almost go extinct and even doom themselves thanks to the almighty nearly blowing up the sun
the red war would've happened anyway
one of them tried to ensure it would go in the cabal's favor
The red war would have been averted had we seen them coming. We definitely would have had to fight yes but it would have been nothing like what the red war actually was.
The only reason we got caught off guard was because a member of the nine sabotaged our satellites. The city is able to see quite a lot in sol through scouts, satellites and many other surveillance sources. We would have absolutely seen that kind of massive armada coming
Even more so considering they had a ship designed for the traveler specifically. Seeing that would have prompted an immediate response
yeah nobody would've ever expected the cabal were capable of sealing the traveler though
also ghaul already had countermeasures for the satellites the nine fucked with
they'd already prepared to bomb the satellites from long range
We still would have noticed it. Ikora said "there are no satellites" meaning she didn't actually see them at all.
If a satellite had been sabotaged or destroyed an alert would have gone off.
The cabal are not stealthy. Them blowing up a satellite, moving that kind of armada across the system and especially with a ship designed to trap the traveler would have prompted a response to guardians.
a lot of the heavy hitter guardians weren't in the city at the time because they were investigating beacons that had gone down elsewhere including MC
MC guardian showed up last minute
Shaxx, the vanguard and possibly thousands of other guardians already in the city would have been fine to hold them off while we and others rushed back.
Because we didn't know.
Satellites had been sabotaged
No help could be called for outside.
you're making a ton of assumptions when early warning really would not have done much lol
no enemy had ever even shown to be capable of targeting the traveler before
how do you expect them to deduce a ship is magically going to shut it off
ghaul destroying the satellites from range wouldn't have exactly tipped off that an entire war fleet is coming
The hive in D1 were draining the light from a shard of the traveler. Our enemies are absolutely capable of manipulating light to an extent and have always targeted the traveler.
The fallen in the beginning literally chased it, the hive want it destroyed because it is the enemy of sword logic.
A whole war fleet would have been seen before they reached earth. As I said we have a lot of surveillance resources within sol and that's not including ikoras hidden and caydes scouts
the shard of the traveler thing happened in d2 man
the hive are the only enemy that had even been shown to be a threat on that level at the time
we had only ever dealt with cabal scouts
No this was a different shard. We went into the hellmouth in D1 to stop a ritual which the hive were using to infect a piece of the traveler and we freed it.
oh yeah that happened but that was also crota
"With minimal interference" implies a certain degree of interference
The cabal in D1 were definitely no scouts. They took over most of mars, created the exclusion zone and we've also had major cabal threats such as valus ta,arc, the bond brothers, etc. A heavy cabal presence has always been in Sol
The Nine freed Skolas to see what we would do about it
they are called scouting legions
word for word in the game
They were scouts actually
also all the cabal in d1 except for the siege dancers were loyal to calus
The entire point of that reveal is that they do all that and are seemingly weakened, then near the end of The Taken King you find out they were forward scouts and requesting backup
Yes sry I had to quickly recheck that. But scouting legion or not they're still massive threats.
the siege dancers are the only faction known to be even loyal to ghaul
we had never dealt with any threat even comparable to the red war except for arguably oryx and oryx would never have been capable of directly attacking the city
That's the cabal.
Even ghost says this in D1 when we go to mars for the first time
The only reason Oryx didn't just wipe us is that Mara and her forces intercepted and damaged the Dreadnaught,at the cost of most of the awoken fleet and her life
No but like
Oryx does that, too
Sort of, yknow, part of being a Hive god
The vex do that too
We gotta lot of planet wiping entities going around
and was massively weakened when he came into the picture
in fact the entire reason we go to the dreadnaught is because cayde won't risk the dreadnaught firing again
oryx had no interest in actually killing us anyway
he literally did not give a fuck and wanted us to slay him
by all means if oryx makes it to earth its ggs
????
Thats
Thats the entire ass reason he's there
No he wanted revenge for his son
His first words to us literally were YOU TOOK MY SON
If I am defeated I know it will be because my understanding of the universe was incomplete. I failed to anticipate some strategy, some nemesis. (Perhaps Taox, if she still lives.)
If I am defeated, I know that I will fall to something mighty. Something that craves might, something that loves what I love, which is the Deep, a principle and a power, the versatile, protean need to adapt and endure, to reach out and shape the universe entirely for that purpose, to mutate and redesign and test and iterate so that it can prevail, can seize existence and hold it, certain that this is everything, that there is nothing to life except living. And it has two faces, yet it is one shape. One face is the objective, which is obvious, and the other face is that will to sacrifice things and ideas for a single mission, the mission of becoming the shape, a shape that will not relent, the utter commitment to survival, to draw the right sword and choose where to cut: to allow this hunger to become your weapon.
So I will prepare a book, which is a map to a weapon. And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going. And then they will take up my weapon, and they will use it, they will use that weapon, which is all that I am.
And armed thus with my past, and my future, and my present (which is a weapon, a weapon that takes whatever is available, a weapon bound to malice), they will mantle me, Oryx, the Taken King.
They will become me and I will become them, each of us defeating the other, correcting the other, alloying ourselves into one omnipotent philosophy. Thus I will live forever.
Iâll make sure.```
literally in this he was planning what would happen if he were slain
This was preparations for his death, not preparing for being killed directly
Getting life insurance doesn't mean you're planning to run out into traffic, you know?
And that's what the Touch of Malice is
Life insurance, because all the hive gods turned out to be bitches about the whole sword logic thing
It also didn't work because we didn't take up the power left by oryx after killing him
so get mogged bozo
this was not for us in particular
I mean you can take it from the Echo of Navigation's word, Oryx died because he sought revenge for his son.
this was for an actual hive successor rising up to kill him
oryx very much did not like us and did want to kill us
that's literally the entire point of the campaign
it's repeatedly pointed out that he's not making great tactical decisions because he's just zeroed in on revenge
Something that craves might, that loves what I love, which is the Deep, a principle and a power
This seems to refer to the Winnower's ideals and that aint us
We actively run a wrench in the sword logic because we actively refuse it every time it is offered to us
That's sort of the entire point of the game actually kinda
especially ever since witch queen the story has consistently portrayed the middle ground between light and dark as being the right way forward
their ideals do not conflict
I'm not talking about Light and Darkness, though.
I'm talking about the Winnower and the knives
The Winnower proposes that no matter what you do, a single pattern with emerge above all else and dominate everything else, while the Gardener grows tired with this and aids civilizations with the hope that coexistence may occur
that's a really narrow view of both that comes from the interpretations meant to be coming from the precursors when we know better now though
the two forces are in the end complementary, the guardian themselves is currently aptly described as the winnower's greatest knife
We are no knife. The winnower calls us a "difficult friend"
In the latest lore we got from the winnower
When Oryx communed with the Deep, he communed with The Winnower, and both agreed (at least at the time, for Oryx) on its choice, or ideals. That's what that lore tab is referring to
It specifically mentions the shape
Eris is the only one we have been a "knife" for
everyone is a knife
or capable of rising up to be it
Light and Darkness isn't related to the Winnower
Hence why the Witness actually primarily used Light when attacking (resonance is solar energy) and the whole reason he needed the Traveler for was using the Light and Darkness together
Resonance is Darkness
it do be dealing solar damage
p sure siva was all three elements as required
Resonance isn't really anything. It's under the same umbrella as Siva imo.
Not light or dark but more a technology of the black fleet, every time we interact with resonance it's always to unlock doors or bring down barriers.
Resonance is purely the Darkness' counterpart to the Traveler's Terraformation
i just feel like making resonance solar instead of any other sort of damage (or none at all) is a conscious choice
??? wdym none at all
I interpreted it as a physical manifestation of the Witness' whole orchestral approach to the final shape
It's shapin'
all damage has to be typed in some way unless it's just an instant kill trigger or status effect
resist mods exist, ergo they will type damage somehow
ok and as a rule enemies never do kinetic damage lol
attacks are and always have been color coded because of things like threat modifiers and element resist mods
the exception is only melee attacks
and that's not even always true
This isn't really about lore more just video game explanations.
I don't think it goes that deep
yeah it's just for visual clarity
The Pale blue coloration used for Terraformation and the orange coloration for Resonance have always been used to represent Light and Dark respectively
In Root of Nightmares, in Prismatic
also bungie literally stated multiple times resonance is the core 'language' of darkness lol
the orange shit is just how the witness manifests it
they tend to represent pure non-aspected darkness with either red or orange
red ended up getting changed to associate with nightmares later on, but they are kind of doubling down on it with the renegades stuff (partly because of star wars)
red/orange would be inferred to be tied to the negative emotions aspect of darkness which is why we never got the red subclass
and would also work with the whole red lightsaber sith dredgen tie-in
or at least what those negative emotions are expressed through
if stasis represents will and control and strand represents connection and collective conscious...
i'd guess it's in a way related to Freud's model of the mind that defines 3 levels of the mind
stasis being the conscious mind, actively exerting will and control, strand being the subconscious mind, "A vast reservoir of memories, beliefs, and learned behaviors that are not currently in your awareness but can influence your thoughts and actions. " , and the red one being the unconscious mind, which is primal instinct and repressed trauma
wait, what role did Variks have to play in Forsaken?
how was he involved in the prison break?
He sabotaged the Prison of Elders as a distraction to flee the Tangled Shore and get away from the Awoken
Which unintentionally got Cayde killed
well for one he was the warden and also reset the entire prison's securiy systems so everyone would break out so he could use it as cover to escape
he kinda accidentally played a part in the mass production of dark ether by failing to cure fikrul and having a bunch of servitors and their ether get corrupted
i need to get the fated weapon title man
i dont think its obtainable until epic raid?
idk
fated weapon is
the raid title isn't i think
that one's atemporal
which is cool
but
oh thats the kepler ine
it's no "Fated Weapon"
Transcendent doesnât come off of my titan
i think my lock is transcendant, titan is eternal, and hunter is Heretic
As a prismatic lover I feel transcendent fits very well
as a prismatic lover and also a transcendent without the cendent myself i think its great
Hi
No thanks
The lore and subclass system is why I've continued playing but man them turning the praxic into jedi just make me so sad.
Wdym? Praxic weren't really turned into jedi, that group is just the destiny equivalent to the Jedi.
Always focused on the light, never once even tempted by the power darker sides possess and doing everything to keep that darker power locked away
Except they're literally giving Aunor star wars armour and a light saber so
I guess. Idk one character being like I don't think translates to the entire order being that way.
The praxic blade was almost certainly a dawnblade of solar flame and now it's light saber
This is permanent
It just is that now
Well the dawnblade at least from what we know requires light to be used in order to form. We make one when casting a super and we saw Osiris cast one as well way back when.
This could just be a stand in weapon that instead of having to channel light can be used on a whim.
Praxic blade could literally just be tool of the praxic order like a hidden blade is to the assassin brotherhood
light saber
We don't even know if it's even actual light though. We've literally seen a red one and destiny already has a ton of energy weapons in its arsenal. I'm not saying it can't be light but I don't think it's right to make the immediate assumption that this a replacement to the dawnblade
I don't mean light saber as in Light
I mean
it's a lightsaber
and I'm assuming nothing
Older tabs went on about the praxic flame and the praxic blade, it follows, was a solar blade of light
Now it is
Star wars lightsaber
And we know that for a fact and it simply is this now
perhaps the Praxic Blade has changed
it is said that it is made from both Light and Dark, which there is no way the Praxic Blade has been like that previously
given that the Praxics zealously avoid Darkness
so perhaps the Praxic Blade becoming a lightsaber is an evolution of it
It is an actual blade (before it got turned to a lightsaber), right? And not a different name for some kind of philosophical razor like Occam's Razor?
maybe Renegades will deal with the Praxic Order adapting to the idea that Darkness isn't evil
"A Praxic blade could set the world on fire. We're very careful with our aim." âWarlock Aunor Mahal
That, to me, could still be read as metaphorical rather than a literal blade that would set the world ablaze
uhh in terms of someone like Aunor she's been referred to as the "Cormorant Blade" until only now recently it being confirmed that the Cormorant Blade is aslo what she calls her weapon
assuming this statement is literal, does that put Praxics at planetary level or...
And maybe it was
But whichever way it might have been is irrelevant now
Because it is lightsaber
True
false
Elaborate?
it is important to remember the evolution of something
the Praxic Blade is a symbol of the order
if it evolves, then it could mark an evolution in the order as well
I mean what if it's like. it takes a really long time
like plague inc
The narrative team has been one of the only solid things throughout this upheaval, let's hope the story actually leads us into discussions about that [Light vs Dark] again vis-a-vis Beyond Light did with the whole "Darkness is bad" to "Darkness is kinda okay (but don't use it in Crucible because that's mean)"
the point is that it could have been more unique, but they are just using the praxic order as an excuse to push the crossover. Its sucks man, yes you can make some similarities, but given the context and a literal lightsaber its not unique at all now.
thats just forcing the crossover narrative
So i finally completed the Whisper. It's been my favorite mission so far. The sense of mystery, the impossible shapes, the visuals in the jump puzzle, the soundtrack those ominous voice snippets, it all built the atmosphere really well. But once you complete that jump puzzle, it feels flat. It feels like the same old destiny. Like this mission was the closest that destiny has ever gotten for me, near peak sci-fi, like Halo, Mass effect, Dead space etc
Normally i am not interested in the lore because i feel Bungie doesn't really care about onboarding new players to the existing story and the missions are just open maps with no narrative weight. Just endless flights of corridors inside the pyramids, the hellmouth etc etc. They don't feel relevant, they feel like Quake multiplayer maps. But the Whisper was incredible. It was weird and it was a jump puzzle but it felt alien and mysterious and not like other environments in the game.
So my question is, What is " Xol, Will of the Thousands", some kinda raid boss that was teased in The Whisper?
Xol was one of the Worm Gods, the beings which... well, caused the Hive to be what they are today. The Whisper did not tease Xol, however - it was a sendoff. We fought Xol before that mission, as the campaign boss of the Warmind expansion.
Man, to me it felt like a buildup, really cool. It was actually a sendoff. I don't think Warmind is accessible anymore. Oh wel..
Not for about five years now, no.
The Whisper was more of a ritual. Xol's service to the Sword Logic. In our defeat of him, we proved to him we were capable. His power bound itself to us in the form of the Whisper of the Worm.
Thanks, very cool!
Thatâs not confirmed. Iâm assuming youâre referring to the Renegade Leader tab?
Who created the Vex? I can't find an answer to this question. And, i've also noticed that you mostly fight Vex/Cabal/Fallen in portal. Does that imply some lore point that Hive/Taken/Scron have been weakned byt the Guardians to the point that they aren't a threat anymore? Like Guardians seemed to have killed off the entire Hive Pantheon nearly. Is that cannon or just the current portal meta?
Also, unrelated but if the Fallen had the light before Humans, how come there aren't Fallen Guardians?
You fight Hive and Taken in Portal activities too
As far as we know... nobody. They evolved, as a species. They're biological beings, microscopic radiolaria suspended within the fluid. The "Vex Milk".
They do, however, have some implied connection to the Precursers.
Also the Portal means nothing
As for the Hive Pantheon, Xivu Arath and Savathun still remain, as do half of the Worm Gods.
And the Eliksni never had Ghosts. Humanity was the only species to wield the Light as Guardians.
Ghosts didn't exist before the Collapse.
If you'd like to know more about the Vex, I'd recommend reading Clovis Bray's Logbook, parts 1 and 2. It also goes into great detail about the Exo and their creation.
I can link these if you'd like.
Is this logbook somewhere in the game or do you gys read all this on destinypedia?
Absolutely never use Destinypedia
Hot garbage
https://www.ishtar-collective.net
Largely speaking, we use the Ishtar Collective.
I use chathpt at times too. I assume it can do older lore relibaly?
Absolutely not
Thanks mate.

NOTE-FORGE STAR
In an effort to keep them engaged with their new bodies and stave off the dissociative rejection that killed Mr. Zhuk, I have assigned my exos to scout through the gateway. The Vex statite has a surface area larger than Earth, so we have plenty of exploring to do. I cannot believe that I actually find it tiring, but the sheer sca...
Nice. Pretty cool!
Yeag
There are two instances of ships named Renegade Leader with almost identical tabs. The one youâre referring to is the one done in error
Mael noticed this recently
One mentions the Cormorant Blade, the other mentions the Praxic Blade. The other is the lore tab on the X-Wing, which is the correct one given the name Renegade Leader
@west tree
Nuh uh
renegade raider
Was watching the renegades vidoc to see if I could make out any small details and I noticed this shot of drifter with a thorn. I assume this just represents his time with the dredgens but it makes me if at one point he did own a thorn. Maybe in that group it was like something you had to have in order to be a part of that crew.
Obviously these cinematics are more representative of events and not supposed to be seen as absolutely accurate but I do wonder if he did dabble in those weapons back when he was just trying to survive
tbh i wouldnt be surprised if he was one of the ones who helped invent the replicas
rat man can just make shit like he mass-produced malfeasance after getting his hands on one chimera heart
He's definitely got a proficiency in weapons craft. Guess back then he had to know or he wouldn't be able to protect himself.
Arbalest is just a rail gun firing a physical bolt.
This might be an obscure fact, but does anyone know the name of the protocol Rasputin had that was to fire upon the Traveler?
The Abhorrent Imperative
and/or Loki Crown
If available ISR and WARWATCH indicates imminent [O] departure
>then [O] departure compromises human/neohuman survival and epoch strategy
Stand by for ABHORRENT IMPERATIVE:
Activate LOKI CROWN
Perform deniable authorization: full caedometric and noetic release
Prevent [O] departure by any means available
Stand by for effect assessment criteria:
Coerce pseudoaltruistic [O] defensive action.
Defer civilization kill.
STOP STOP STOP V101NTS923ATS001```
OMG thank you!
Speaking of this. I wonder if the traveler would defend itself should something like this have actually gone forward. Like we have cutscenes that have shown the traveler being destroyed or corrupted but i do wonder if the traveler would react if it truly was in REAL danger
And then also what would happen if it was struck? would it have a hole blown through it or would it do nothing?
!banscam 381499054863024150
what is bro waffling about
You were actually in the process of explaining to me why Shin Malphur is the best character in destiny lore Waltz
OOUUGHHH I LOVE LAST WORD
IT TOTALLY HAS REMNANT SOLAR LIGHT IN IT WHICH EXPLAINS HOW SHIN CAN USE GG WITHOUT A LIVING GHOST OURUURHG
Jarren Ward, legend even in death
Surely this new dredgen is really just Shin with another fake name playing around with a lightsaber

I'm really hoping The Alchemist, coming in 2026 better be the end of Destiny 2 as a game.
In terms of a story for Destiny 3's intro. The Traveler finally waking up from its current corrupted Pearl heart state and decides to visit the solar system It abandoned the last. Riis. We follow it and maybe there's a massive threat thats threatening Eramis's efforts of rebuilding her world and we coming in to help her.
Nah theyâll just make an expansion about that and make the person threatening Eramis Maya
Because they love shoving Maya in random scenarios
I wish they wrote Maya better XD
She interesting but lacking in some areas. One aspect Id do would be to have her have a Panoptes size Vex next to her acting like a body guard or something.
We have yet to actually fight her though. She could very well do that sort of thing and we already have fought many vex of that size that she herself has built.
I don't mean to be a buzzkill but destiny 3 isn't happening. We're with D2 for the long haul and a "Reset" with another game is not the right move.
Bungie is in no state to make a d3
And they'd have to compete with 6-7 years of loot and content
People were already sad D2 took away all their loot. I don't think players will tolerate losing all of that a second time.
D1 was only stomachable because it had a grand total of 2 years with 4 dlc to throw away
Just to put it into perspective
A robo-lesbian has more love from developers
Than rhulk and nezarek combined
Both got killed off instantly despite nezzy having his arrival built for years prior
So robot lesbian is more interesting than space boogeyman

Rhulk dying instantly is just cause hes a raidboss
And Nezzy I agree could have gotten more but considering Bungie is trying to make us forget Lightfall and Plunder and Revenant happened I am not surprised Nezzy is barely brought up
I might be wrong but wouldnât it be smarter to make nezarek the new villain, considering that he got ties to light and dark saga which are STILL main building blocks of the universe, nezarek doesnât need a lot of lore to back him up considering that he is space boogeyman and unlike maya is actually likable in some way, his backstory could be tied to the nine in some way or another but instead they just let him in, kill him instantly and then lobotomise mithrax in revenant thus nullifying nezareks impact on the plot
Donât get me wrong we had enough of the dread and pyramid theme but vex arenât exactly new either
the light v dark saga is over so
an antagonist tied to these forces isnt something bungie will do for a while
yes but no longer active plot drivers
Indeed
nezarec would be exactly that, something tied to the paracausal forces that drives the plot forward
something bungie at most will do in the distant future
Right now we're trying to move away from those forces to focus on this new saga which is all about fate as the name suggests.
Nezarec is cool but I don't see any place where he could come is as he still doesn't actually have any physical body anymore and as far as we know his essence is solely contained within mithrax now.
Or "Banished"
i was of the impression eramis served nezarec an eviction notice from mithrax
Makes no sense btw
Nah he is still within
Mithrax told us nezarec was still a part of him but that he has been closed off from the rest of his mind.
I mean imma be real I dont get the Nezzy hyped anyway
He was a fine boss for the raid and his previous mentions were neat too but thats really about it
ah
To me personally he never had proper antagonist potential
nezarec doesnt have the depth to ever be a significant antagonist
A literal god who is tied to concept of fear itself is tied to 1 body of some lame eliksni and canât actually do anything
He was never given depth
Come to think of it
Neither does maya tbh
nezarec is monotonous, one note, understandable and explainable without much thinking
maya has some depth, and potential for more depth
nezarec doesnt.
^
Nezarec is just a really really angry god who enjoys suffering but that doesn't add really any depth to him. We have no backstory, no events from his life, nothing that could warrant a story focused around him.
he's a really fucking fun villain, but he's too basic to become anything beyond what he's been
Character that can be explained by ârobot lesbianâ and thatâs pretty much it
A robot lesbian looking for her robot wife
"messy divorce" unironically has depth to it
Who killed god because yes
Who went insane and was also one of the founders of neomuna
Youre kinda doing her a bit of a disservice with that lets be real
She might not have the deepest of motivations but she has been in the lore for a long time and quite a few aspects to her and her variants
Maya has a crazy amount of depth but I do think you're being pretty harsh when we have so much evidence of Maya having depth as a character
"messy divorce, literally insane with batshit insane ambitions and goals, with the proven power to kill a god" has even more depth
She's been mentioned since year 1
She's been mentioned since destiny even started lol
A civilisation that discovered secrets of existence itself and became disillusioned by it so much so they strove to reshape it and willingly reshape itself in the process vs me need le wife

It's way deeper than that and you know it
i mean we can kinda break down the witness into something without much depth using your own wording
It's not just me need wife, she's wants to swap current earth with the earth from the collapse
Witness = Me want traveler
Witness? more like Nihilism crybaby
there
The witness was a fucking chud loser
the witness can be broken down into "unquantifiably old crybaby throwing a tantrum because the universe isnt like it wants"
Stupid fucking chud witness
The big orb in the sky didnt tell me what the point of existence is so we decided no one gets to exist individually
Maya is also fucking cringe as she's stupid
same as maya can be broken into "insane and divorced"
divorce leads people to the worst of places, like digitising the carcass of a time god
Believe it or not nihilism crybaby is better than me so lonely robot lesbian who has been given one of the most braindead broken powers in verse because fuck yeah she deserves it
Bruv her goal is to restore the golden age
And why does she want to do this?
Whatâs her endgame?
Because shes delusional
honestly
She's literally crazy
Thats like the whole point
mayas goals can kinda be compared to the witness
She isnt even that far off from the Witness yeah
Endgame is to reunite with chioma as far as I understand it
Both want to change the universe cause theyre crazy
maya seeks to change the universe to cope with the fact the univese isnt how she wants it to be
they're both insane
Absolutely ridiculous claim
only difference is that the witness has no emotional depth
the ideology of the witness has depth
the witness itself at an emotional level is very flat and one note
maya is very much emotional
Btw III's corpse is in that structure in the middle of the epic final encounter right?
The hexagon thing
Also I find it funny that you have such a problem with Mayas motivation when you initially suggested Rhulk and Nezzy as villains who have even less motivation besides the Witness said so!!!!
Lotta faces
Damn fr?
I dunno that's why I'm asking
Rhulk had to sacrifice his entire species to be initiated into disciplehood, witness literally killed itself to become one (plus they were practically gods even before being âveiledâ), Mara sov got burped up by a black hole, 3 sisters sacrificed freedom of their kind into eternal bloodlust whithout which they can not live, savathun died couple times, oryx died couple times, killed akka, xivu died couple times too for their power
And then thereâs maya
I should of said "is III's corpse"
But Rhulk still has no motivation besides 'The Witness said this is how it should be!!!!!'
Hes just a servant
Not about motivation
A strong one no doubt
I was going for how they got their power
I mean ig?
I don't know why you are still fighting this astmoe
I mean they can have their opinion
You dont have to like Maya
Its preference at the end of the day
It came out wrong
I get what you mean because I dont agree with their points either
im fighting this, you WILL like maya, you WILL feel bad about disagreeing with me
I hope so because if narrative team will slack off too
Game will die completely
There is still time so
Ehh portal has to go
Finally
Narrative team and RaD team have been very good
Someone else said it
They can not afford to and itâs not like they have bad rep
Wouldn't really say it found her more she just got to it first when it landed on nessus in what I'm assuming was radiolaria. Many hands reached for it but hers got there first and that's how it happened.
This echo didn't choose like the echo of Riis did
She seized it and the entity inside willing or not was just along for the ride and talking to Maya based on her actions. Currently her echo is displeased with her murdering III and even seems to have been damaged exerting the power needed to do that kind of thing
Yeah, one of the lore tabs more explicitly expresses how it was a desperate race to the echo. A presumed ashir mir also tried to reach out, but was too far within the vex network to do anything
Lightfall...
They either drop portal entirely or lock in and fix it, but it's too much Dev work either way - if they drop it they've just burned what is presumably an awful lot of time and money, and to fix it is no small endeavour.
The portal is staying whether people like it or not. And in the long run this is a good system and gives the game one central place where you know you can gain power from.
Is it a work in progress? Absolutely but it will change as time goes on like it has ever since EoF came out
Iâve always said that I think Portal is a good basis in concept
It just needs work đ
But having an incentive to run old activities is nice imo
Exactly. My personal thoughts on it are I wish all types of gear could be in the bonus focus pool instead of exclusively having the newest be the bonus focus
But aside from that I do like the system.
I've been seeing theories that the new dredgen in renegades is actually cyrell the "ghost hunter". Would be a pretty hectic duel if him and Micah 10 ever crossed paths.
I think itâs pretty boring to just put every morally-grey/antagonistic Lightbearer as a Dredgen
Also what would the threat even be we could just one tap him and be done with it
Dredgen yor took out multiple well known guardians seemingly without too much effort.
If this new dredgen is a REAL dredgen similar to yor then they're definitely not someone who could be dealt with just like that.
Worth noting that dredgens from gambit and dredgens from the shadows of yor aren't embracing the full extent of the title.
Because he had thorn
A gun that one taps guardians and ghosts by eating their light
Cyrell would literally just be equal to any other guardian but without any rez because his ghost left him
Whatâs he going to do if I just EoT
Cyrell already was seen as a bad guy. If he's embraced the title of dredgen then that could definitely mean he's tapped into a dark power of sorts.
Obviously there's no confirmation it even is cyrell but if someone is claiming to be a dredgen then I think that warrants the assumption that they've put their hands into some corruptive powers and become a lot more dangerous because of it.
We even see in the marketing that this dredgen is holding a ghost
If they went through that whole process of becoming a dredgen to the point it's considered an "ascension" then that could mean they've gone down the same road yor did and gone full blown guardian killer.
The red lightsaber is probably the result of that corruption but who knows maybe they do have another weapon of sorrow stashed away.
I kinda just hate the lightsabers existing tbh
Like Dredgens arenât supposed to be an order you graduate to just because you kill people, it was a bunch of pretenders that Shin was intentionally trying to weed out by drawing them into the open
Dredgen is a title. The analogue here and bungie have also said this, was that the dredgens are the stand ins for the sith.
And they aren't entirely wrong but being a dredgen means going through stuff such as the ritual of unmaking and crafting your own weapon of sorrow through the use of dark power. The shadows didn't kill guardians though as they walked that fine line in pursuit of power.
Though I would argue a TRUE dredgen would be something like what dredgen yor was. A ruthless outlaw and murderer with no moral code. And this new dredgen as far as we know seems to be doing that going off the marketing of them holding a dead ghost.
If they specified it was actually a real Shadow Iâd be more open to it
feels like they're double dipping for no reason
funnily enough this also reflects my feelings for maul being a crime lord in solo like why did he do that
His goal was to establish a secretive syndicate (The Crimson Dawn) with the purpose of subverting the Empire
Similar to what he was doing towards the end of the Clone Wars, but not as open
yeah but they didnt fucking do anything with it
how much of this is clear in the actual movie
maybe actually build up to it earlier
At least we have the upcoming Maul Shadow Lord show
how many years it been now
A few decades probably
all this just to ragebait a 14 year old and then die in one hit in a desert
has Destiny always been set in just Sol? i know there's lots of dimensions and stuff but have we had locations in other star systems?
Destiny has mainly been set in Sol forever really
There are occasions where we go beyond like when we visit the Black Garden for example
