And the big head
Big Head is just there
Im still mad we never got a followup for the Lament quest
Dude said he was gonna walk his ass to Europa and have a talk with the big head but naaaah
Its funny cause he most likely just forgot but still
They arent that weird imo, you download a brain to a USB and plug that into a robot
Yeah wierd

they work by harvesting vex brain juice but killing off all the vex cells with darkness
so you've got a liquid brain that a scan of a human mind can be put in
boom, robot people
Nah that's just Clovis. The people actually becoming exos weren't chasing immortality or anything. Like Elsie did it to avoid an incurable disease
I said Clovis
which Clovis may or may not have been responsible for
Everyday this man just gives us more of a reason to hate him. He wakes up says "what other heinous thing can I do to really piss people off"
I'm kinda hoping him and maya meet one day
Nah I want to see what the dynamic would be like now with Clovis as a big head on Europa and maya as this vex exo hybrid with an echo
She would slap his big bald head
Maya's getting desperate, maybe she will resort to a partnership with Clovis
and then she would slap his big bald head
We slice Maya head and place it in the room with big bald head so they stay there and complain forever

So like, whatās the Echo of Riis up to
It's wherever Eramis has gone after the end of Revenant
With Angry Insect Grandma. She planned to go back to Riis to restore it. That, and to find Athrys.
We may never see Eramis again. That's probably for the best for both of us.
funniest possible thing for bungie would do would be do some stupid bullshit like reversing the polarity of dark matter into some stupid shit like light matter
Isnāt light matter just regular matter?
There is, however, such a thing as light dark matter
Because scientists sometimes suck at naming things
Thereās also cold dark matter, warm dark matter, and hot dark matter
No, they donāt have anything to do with temperature, why do you ask? They actually signify how heavy the particle is
lukewarm dark matter
that's why it'd be funny
matter vs matter (illuminated)
matter (you)

no
(that I used to know)
I have a question about the campaign, if anyone can answer. I'm partway through, step 19 of 31. Ikora was smack-talking the Archon over comms, and mentions something like "You can't use the singularity to get to III". But III hasn't been named once yet. Even after possessing Lodi, it doesn't identify itself. Did I miss something? I feel like the narrative is jumping ahead of itself.
You missed something in that you should probably just.. finish the campaign.
It just doesn't make sense that suddenly she knows that's what's on the other side. I've been following as slowly as I can and she just up and says that.
At that point in the campaign (if memory serves) ikora has pointed out that The Giver the archon talks about is probably III, and that the archon intends to use the singularity to reach the giver
The singularity =/= III
The only thing said so far is that the Archon stole their power from the Giver, not that the Giver is III.
Again, in the interest of not spoiling you please continue the campaign I promise things make sense eventually
I hope. At this point it just feels like a skip in the narrative.
I've ran the campaign a few times and I'm pretty sure there's a line or two about similarities being drawn between III and the giver
The side quests help provide a lot of context and fill in gaps. Would recommend doing those every now and again as you do the campaign
are there any pics on what cabal look like?
also, what exactly are they?
caiatlās tusks kinda confuse me
How so?
Tusks are a trait of female Cabal
Notably, Caiatlās Champion in the Proving Grounds strike is a male Cabal who opts to wear a helmet with ceremonial tusks in honour of Caiatl
Though Caiatl thinks itās stupid iirc
I personally like to say that Ignovun is just a femboy

a flamer, if that joke doesnāt go too far?
bcuz of the fireballs?
a better topic from that
do eliksni arms grow back?
Yeah, thatās why docking clamps are used on Eliksni who are docked
Well
Iirc, itās the bottom set of arms that are typically docked and can regrow, which is why Variks has prostheses since theyāre his top arms
I could be wrong though
docked?
Yeah itās a form of punishment/social control in House hierarchies
basically a permanent dunce hat
thatās why a few have them wrapped in bandages?
You can see here a Dreg whose arms are clamped and then a Dreg whose arms arenāt and are unrestricted in the process of regrowing
Did Orin have to kill her ghost to become emissary
No
What happened to it then? Or is it alive and sheās still a guardian?
Most of what we know comes from the "Invitations of the Nine" mission from Season of the Drifter. During this quest, we see Orin, as the Emissary, floating with what appears to be a representation of a ghost next to her. It falls to the ground as The Nine say "You lost everything." This has been taken to represent that Gol, Orin's ghost, died. We do not explicitly know whether or not she killed it or if the Nine did it, but I don't think she did it.
Here's a video of the scene: https://youtu.be/yPT4oJbjxoc
I don't actually recall a source for this, but it is the implication. We might have to check around.
Icl I think a lot of my knowledge is getting rusty so I just preface everything with āiircā and always suggest I could be mistaken lol
Itās too late for me to be thinking of how to source the things I think I remember too š¤
It's always the safe bet if you don't have a source on hand, haha
Why is nezarecs sarcophagus present in Cataclysm (1st) encounter of RoN? Its the same pedestal with the psion symbol and sarcophagus that appears in final enc
so basically, the 1st and last encounter are both in the same area
it's just that the Tree of Silver Wings that was growing throughout the raid heavily shifted Essence's (The Witness' Pyramid) terrain
and throughout the raid, Nezarec's body was reforming
at the start, you can see it's just his head in there, but more of the body appears as the raid progresses
Is there a map of the entire raid? Like im trying to figure out how we circle back to the same area.
And do you see the sarcophagus in any other encounters? What does the explicator have to do with any of it?
we can see it in the distance in the traversal section between 2nd and 3rd
it's where the death wave comes from
there isn't a map of the entire area, but it probably wouldn't be possibly anyways since the area the raid takes place in shifts around and changes
the terraformation beam already did a number on Essence, but the Tree growing (presumably through our actions in the raid) just made things move around even more
as for the Explicator, he was moreso doing his own thing hence why Nezarec wanted us to "tear that useless sack of meat apart". He was presumably using the planets thing to search for worlds belonging to the Cabal Empire
Yes
They don't really show much of what you're asking about though
I kinda thought that it was like VoW where you can see Rhulk from the start of the raid and youre moving along towards him at the end.
But I guess its different here
you can see Rhulk? i know he's aura farming from the start but i didn't know you could see him
they're just maps of each individual encounter, not the entire area you traverse
you can see his little cocoon
the Nezarec map's bounds overlap perferctly with the center of the cataclysm map
well yeah, they're literally in the same specific area
actually maybe not perfectly since one looks wider but similar shape
byeah
in RoN we're pretty much going from point A to... point A but different
You can see his death machine from every point of the raid, 1st encounter onwards.
OPPORTUNITY
Point A to Point A'
whatās the lore behind VEIST
some guy got bit by a snake and died, the guy watching it got inspired
Yakuza ass backstory
reminds me about how the Awoken were created because of a rabbit embryo
They're a weapons foundry. Probably Australian with all the spiders, snakes and other venomous creature inspiration.
we have some info about how that place is doing
Getting inspired by watching some guy dying from a snake sounds like something a yakuza protag would do before unlocking a new fighting style
Hawkesbury got flooded and is now the Hawkesbury sea where an order of Warlocks known as the Fighting Dharug organize to preserve the remaining wildlife in the region
eh, not as fun as Old Chicago
Anyway, that's where VEIST comes from. The inspiration, I mean. Weapons with all the power of a venomous creature. Plus an onboard AI with that creature's killer instincts.
And now there's the Colony. A grenade launcher packed with fully mobile, AI-controlled insectoid detonators, each one designed with a taste for blood.
We've made some pretty messed-up stuff. You've probably seen it. You know. But we've never made anything like the Colony before.```
Also I think the there is genuine credit to veist having Australian heritage given 2 of their weapons are named after Australian wildlife.
Funnelweb, ikranji.
the implications that each VEIST weapon has an onboard AI based on the specific venomous predator it's based on are interesting to say the least
yeah, but that's just because Australia is where all the bad animals live
America has some bad animals too
yeah, but Aussies got a lot of the venomous ones
the komodo dragon is also pretty fucked up, which they had a weapon from
yeah, VEIST weaponry includes cratures all over the world
You might be mauled by a bear. Buy at least you won't die in under 15 minutes from a spider with fangs big enough to go through shoe leather or an octopus the size of a 50cent coin with a painless bite that'll shut your organs down
Or a nearly invisible jellyfish that even when dead can still hurt you just from a stray tentacle grazing you
bears are pretty brutal too actually
but i cannot elaborate on this server me thinks.
and again, VEIST weapons focus on venomous creatures specifically
Tex Mechanica and VEIST do a collab and make a weapon called the Rattlesnake Mk.25
id like to see a blue dogshit veist gun someday thats just "common european adder"
The whip scorpion is another cutscene from Australia
A blue veist smg with tap the trigger
Was just about to say that
I wanna say osteo striga could definitely be derived from a veist SMG and with the whole venomous deal it'd make sense
while the weapon itself is made by Jana-14, it's frame definitely is based on VEIST smgs
I wouldn't be surprised if just like thorn it was a veist SMG turned into what it is now through killing and hive magics. Not to mention the bones of the ones jana 14 murdered
As is the method for creating a weapon of sorrow
VEIST wasn't a thing back in D1 so that's not very likely
we actually have the exact weapon Thorn used to be actually
Rose
Which we made into lumina
which got corrupted into the OG Thorn which we then purified back into Rose, then we infused Rose with Light to make it into Lumina
Well jana 14 was doing her "research" during the time before the red war. I think veist definitely existed at that time.
I know but I'm just saying that's when all of that started. Obviously Jana 14 saw that and after some time osteo striga was created by her. Again I said it might be the same process that created thorn where a veist SMG was changed over time through dark hive magic (maybe from the necrotic grips even) and the bones jana "fed" to the weapon after murdering someone
well Rose turned into Thorn because Rezyl grafted a Hive bone onto it so you may be onto something there
but the SMG itself must be post-Red War since it is VEIST
Samples of her own fellow researcher who was infected by that corrosive power must have "leaked" onto her weapon possibly.
Reyzl hears whispers coming from the bone he grafted to his rose so maybe that same energy whispered to jana? You can see her becoming a lot more enthralled by how the necrosis worked on living targets
Maybe an infected tissue sample which is what we can see on the actual necrotic grips is what caused the transformation and the bones of janas victims are what transformed the once veist appearing SMG into the osteo striga
why is Veist's "krait" called that and not "bungarus"
imagine telling people to get bungarus
ballyhoo level name
veist like to be edgy and "cool"
even if it absolutely would make it 150% more popular
But edgy and cool is popular. I mean look at every hunter when superblack came back

So i guess the big tentacle monster was always the idea of what the nine would "look" like. Though with beings like this i imagine that this might be just how our minds perceive them
that same concept art does talk about the idea that the form III took would be different depending on who was looking at them
Isn't that a similar concept to warframes man in the wall?
it also mentions that the Nine are a sort of keystone species for time and physics
idk I haven't played Warframe
which could give us a hint as to what exactly the effects III's death will have
If they're a keystone then maybe the nines existence as a whole is what governs those other forces. Like imagine putting a face to gravity if that makes sense. Kill that being and then that force goes away
maybe not go away, but go looney
since III is tied to Earth, perhaps its death will affect Earth specifically
Yeah, Allison from narrative did also say there would be a sense of creeping dread as time went forward due to this very unnatural death of such a force
Maya just murdered one of the biggest forces in possibly the universe in a tantrum so there's going to be consequences to that
what if something related to the Red War gets pulled forward
or someone
and that could be part of what kicks of Renegades
there's also indication that IV is going to cause Renegades
or will be related to it
No clue. 3 pulled things through time but we don't know if the other nine possess other abilities or if that's the same among all members
since IV and III were probably the closest two members of the Nine could be to best friends
or lovers?
idk, what's important is that III and IV were close
and III's death is making IV very reckless as stated when IV itself claimed that grief was making it not care abotu the rules
If i had to guess maybe this "bind the nine" thing might actually be each member binding to us as a sort of deal. We help them deal with this new dredgen since paracasual forces can pose problems and in return they help us. Though i can't say the outer orbits would be so friendly given what we know
And again i'm curious if other members have different abilities. not anything massively drastic but maybe they just manipulate things like time in different ways.
3 sends trains, 7 sends planes
And 8 sends a boat.
That kind of thing
I kinda just think they can all do the same things at a base level
Plus 3 was innocent, the other members could very much become antagonistic towards us
of course a member of the Nine can learn and harness a new power like VI is doing with the Taken
We'll have to see what happens. I think we'll end up helping the "good" nine to bind them but the others might need a more forceful approach
Did we find out who the god of nothingness was or what ever was controlling the take during heresy
Not yet. But we know it was them behind the taken
The god of every nothing is their name. It's not a title or anything as far as we know
some speculate it is VI
Can't say i disagree but i don't believe it is myself. I think this is a completely new being made real by the takens will and need for a leader. Heresy was said that it'd open the door to new mysteries and this new god could be one of these new mysteries
its certainly one of the IX imo
New things and beings are being made or making themselves known to take up the power vaccuum left by the witness
III in the original designs looks like a starfish which again adds to the creativity Bungie couldve went
I love when they make the reality of our own into Destiny with these crazy designs
The Traveler looks like a fruit
The Veil looks like a manifestation of a mushroom/fungus
and III in the original design looked like a starfish (depending on individual who saw it)
I just want them to make The Nine unique, they may not be paracausal but they are sure creepy and interesting
And ngl that humanoid form design looks creepy asf
Something to also note is that we saw 3 in a vision when maya killed them. But WE haven't been face to face with them yet so the form we saw 3 in could have def been what maya perceived
That's just my thoughts though
Lord of Every Nothing. No gods here
My b. But it is still a new god in a sense since it is worshipped by the taken and even the dread
And somehow it blocks carves that should be affiliated with The Winnower
So whatever this new god is its just insane
Althought it may be VI since well the eyes looks very Nine ish based on how III designs looks like but yeah
'The Architects' are just a joke by Bungie when you get killed by slamming into the environment or something
Many people have over the years tried to theorize theyre actually supposed to be Bungie themselves manifested in universe but I personally think thats bullshit
Alex do you know some cool warlock lore
uuuuh
I always liked when Aunor in the Tommys Matchbook loretab skips half the stairway by blinking between the floors without a care
So like he'd just blink up a level?
When ever aunor is mentioned I keep thinking of the ainur from lord of the rings
Down
She was going down a spiral staircase I think and just kinda zipped through with blink a few times
The Matchbook entry is hilarious anyway
Who are you?
'Tommy' said the Ghost
'Ghost' said the Hunter
Is Tommy's matchbook any good?
Alex I require more warlock lore
I really like when lore talks about light usage
Expanding upon what we see in game
Uuuh go read about Osiris' final moments with the light
That shit went crazy
Itās a great way to proc healing, scorch, and stun champs so I would say yes
I use it on my solar titan
is there much lore on champs on how enemies become champs?
As far as I can tell champions arent even canon
If you wanna go into headcanon/tinfoil territory you could probably make up some shit like theyre enemies touched by darkness or some shit which empowers them
that could work i like that
Mhm, just keep in mind thats based on nothing at all
To my knowledge Champions have never been acknowledged in the narrative at all
so random rolls are lore?
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/they-were-the-champions
this is literally the only reference to champions
Defeat Champion combatants in Nightfall strikes.
"Champions of what? A lofty title won't protect them from you." āCommander Zavala
wow
amazing
Occasionally.
Trench barrel is a perk mentioned I think
i love my titan commander
That's so obscure
yesnt
We sorta got something related in the Grasp of Avarice narrative
To me personally tho it was always more about various things relating to the gun itself like a different type of barrel or scope
Not effect perks like rampage
and i would not say it canonifies champions as they exist, either
it's simply an old daily bounty
My take is that the guns are infused with light giving it those properties
Probs wrong tho
But that would be based on the Lightbearer that uses them
True
Sure if you are skilled with the light you can probably make your bullets do more damage but thats on you not the gun
You're right yeah
The way I imagine weapon rolls is you walk your ass through the cosmodrome and find a handcannon with a different grip than the one you found last time
Unless they have some shien factory type thing where guardians slap a gun and bam
Perks have been mentioned though as I said earlier
Youre referring to Grasp lore right
Nah before that
Drop some facts I wanna read up
If I remember correctly it talks about a guardian buying a shotgun with trench barrel
Trench barrel could just be a specific type of barrel rifling tho
Mind you I read it ages ago and I could of been misinterpreted it
Yeah but it is a perk in the game
That doesnt have to mean it works the same way in lore
There is and always has been a varying degree of disconnect between lore and game
I'm trying to find it gimme a sec
Found it
ā
Brother Vance's smile fell as the Titan entered his sanctum. The smell was unmistakable: ancient gunpowder, burnt oil, scorched Vex fluid, the burnt tang of steel overused through a hundred lifetimes.
"You have the Perfect Paradox," Vance said, his voice as steady as he could manage. He extended his hands. "May I?"
The Titan shrugged, then d...
Imo this doesnt disprove my interpretation
what is saints actual weapon
Perfect Paradox is what he commonly uses
I never said it didn't, that's just my take away from it
But as you said, it could be a physical property
always thought bastion was his gun
Its a different version of the gun with different strengths
Saying 'tactical mag' is a bit weird cause its a shotgun but it could simply refer to a way the tube in which the bullets are stored is setup
Bastion is apparently our gun
From a different timeline in which we died
ah forest of intfinte time or something
Corridors of Time
People were pissed about that
Rightfully so
I mean yeah, doing all that for an exotic that you would of gotten anyway
Either the Corridors of Time are correct and free will is a myth (rendering paracusality useless)
Or it simply shows a different timeline which means the scene of us finding our grave meant jack shit
Cause theres infinite timelines and infinite possibilities
isnt ther grave there us if wittness killed us
Back then the Witness wasnt a concept
And we never found out how that version of us died
The Witness wouldnt become a known concept until Witch Queen
Corridors of Time happened in season of Dawn aka Shadowkeep year
wonder if we ever wil go to back to corriders of time story or area
No
Unlikely considering Mercury doesnt exist in Sol rn
And even then I doubt we would return to them
bc of sunset or did it get blown up?
Irl reasons are Sunset
Lore reasons are cause the Witness snatched it along with Titan, Mars and Io
Titan and Mars have since returned to Sol but Io and Mercury remain missing
We briefly got a glimpse of Io during Episode Heresy as part of the ascendant plane in the Dreadnaught tho idk if that was the actual Io
I completely forgot titan came back...
How did we get Titan back
wasnt that with the taken titan
The only thing left is the dungeon rn?
forgot who her name
Cause I forgot
We didnt, it just showed up
Same as Mars
Thats just bs
They just showed back up from the 'void'
salon was is that it?
Sloane
Pretty sure the Updended could do it? My Vow lore is wonky
@trim grotto I call upon you
The power to move worlds
Remember ron
The room
didnt rhulk kill one of the xol worms to make the pyrmind in the raid
Planets
Not us but
Pyramids. Taking.
We killed the Worm Mother indirectly by clapping Rhulk
Mechanically speaking
So the stolen planets do end up in the Ascendant plane?
wasnt one we first seen wittness wasnt he moving planets?
Taking
Yea
They get yeeted
We saw Io there during Heresy
Ah so it was the actual Io we saw in Heresy
Top 2 wierdest places to end up
Then yeah, Mercury is currently sitting somewhere in the Ascendant Plane
- Ascendant Plane
- Vexnet
isnt plane hte dark place taken are?
And Taking has terrible potential if wielded by a mind more nuanced than Oryx's. Taking involves reforming matter in a self-contained reality, where the creator defines past, present, and future; imagine how a more insightful being could expand these definitions, to different ends. Overcoming a target's will must consume a large portion of energy. What if you used that energy for larger shifts in reality? You could teleport an army into a Hive mothership⦠move a fleet outside time and space⦠perhaps even alter a moon's orbit, devastating the planet below. The military applications could be far graver than simply creating an army. - Ophiuchus
Apply this logic to a planet instead of an army
I wonder if the Vex tried to capitalize on that since they have a direct portal there with the Forrest
mara sends us to there sometimes
We go there plenty of times
Savathuns and Eris' throne world are in there
Technically the inside of the Dreadnaught is too iirc
All of this are powers that The Winnower posses right?
Brother Vance sealed the entrance on Mercury. Sacrificed his life to do so, to stop the Pyramids from accessing it.
I heard that The Veil can speak to u
Idk if thats true or not
If someone wants to tell
Bro slapped a peadlock on that portal metaphorically speaking
The power of the Winnower is not as clear as Unveiling would suggest. Perhaps.
Mhm
Unveiling mentioned
Take everything it says at face value trust trust
Vance did it with Osiris's teachings. It's unclear exactly what he did, but Osiris did know his way around the Forest.
Id love it if we ever return to the Forrest and Vance is still in there fighting like the mf Doom Slayer
But still the power of taking is just insane
It is
No wonder why Darkness has cooler stuff than Light
That is a close 2nd yes
That one Guardian using one two punch strand navigator build
But its hard to find something more inherently cool that popping a 6shooter of pure solar light

wonder if saint can use strand
didnt ikora hv strand
Not the way we do
Isnt ikora the most powerful warlock now
isnt she the strongest vanguard
She is the lead vanguard now
Osiris dosent have light anymore of course he fell
Yeah obviously
Zavala has no ghost and Crow isnt on her level
id love to see guardian 1v1 ikora
I think Ikora was always the strongest vanguard member idk why
Being lead Vanguard doesnt inherently have anything to do with strength
Its likely she could best Zavala but he remained top dog of the Vanguard due to his tactical expertise
She always had that cool unique vibe
bloodlove_00 has been banned!
Smh
wtf was that
Disrupting conversations like this
Frrr
Dw about it
how would it
Random scam bot
ikora 1v1 us guardians

not to death but just a fun fight
Ik
It is more of a political role
Indeed
Honestly we need another Civil War in the Last City
Been too long since the last
wish i couldve seen the boogyman of saint
Someone stir up the foundries and create civil unrest or some shit
I always think that 80% of Destiny lore happend in the past
We have squished all disent thou
Yes
Obviously
Its much easier to create narratives when they arent set around you actually shooting shit
Then make disent idc
Obviously we need a lore library in game where most of the story is explained
Too much work
For bungo
I always liked that little chapter of Last City lore tho
The old Vanguard and speaker having to figure out how the fuck theyre gonna stop the lightless from killing each other in the streets
Lazyyyy
my fav char are eris saint ocris
Lightless killing each other on the street
What
Yeah that happened
Its pre D1 lore timeline wise
imagine being a thief thinking cops gon come after you
and you see a fcking titan come in your house
In the early ish city age there was a lot of unrest between the Lightless and the Lightbearers since with only the Vanguard in place it felt like a bit of a dictatorship to them
Yeah we need another dark story like this
BUNGO
GET TO WIRK
WORK
getting hit by a solar titan hammer would put normal humans in pieces right
Thus the factions slowly started forming and expanding their own little territories in the Last City which lead to conflict
The lore goes CRAZY
Nah Bungo get to fucking work and give us something like this
This is why the Consensus were formed
It was a fix the Speaker came up with to make the Lightless also have some saying in how the Last City should be run not just the Lightbearers
wish i got to meet the speaker lest once
Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, New Monarchy and that 4th faction that got banished to the old Tower
Go play D1 lol
hes alive and kicking there
Future War Cult was Mayas right?
Correct
Actually Lakshmi*
Well one of the founders
did he hv a ghost or was he a pope of the guardian
He was a normal human
Ues I wanted to mention that
man was norm n he speaked shit to ghaul? respect
Ghaul was just a coward
But yeah basically the Vanguard ruled the Last City and they implemented the Consensus as glorified advisors so the Lightless people would feel like their voices mattered too
if thiefs were in d2 would they send cops or guardians?
Lightbearers Patrol the Last City streets
Afaik its not clear whether theres a civilian police too but id guess so
When u realise there are still Ghosts looking for their chosens
Thats why The Traveler wont create more I think
bro imagine robbing someone n a fcking strand titan come at you
would a solar titan hammer tear a normal human in pieces?
Absolutely
I dont believe Guardians ever really use their abilities when dealing with Civilians
It doesnt seem like the Traveler will ever create more Ghosts
what bout just they fist?
Who was the first Guardian ever created
I wanna know that
I wonder if its even alive anymore
I can tell you some of the first Lightbearers we actually know of
Drifter, Shaxx, Saladin and Felwinter to name a few
Kept his light a secret and then one day some Iron Lords and Warlords started fighting in the town
Small girl got caught in the crossfire and died in his arms
Drifter had a miserable early existence
Why cant we just have something like this
In future expansions were the characters are actually characters and not fucking gods
we dont know drifters name do we
Cause again this is a much better story to tell when you have named characters existing in written text
Germaine I believe it is
š
aye i like that name
He went by many names tho
Dredgen Hope, Eli, Wu Ming und Germaine I think are some of his other names
Do NOT make it live action
Under no circumstances should a Destiny movie or show be live action
They don't. Back in the dark ages a normal person wouldn't be living if they defied a at the time warlord.
Most recent lore I think we have of a hostile guardian and human interaction was when crow pointed Hawkmoon at some civilians attempting to sabotage some ether reserves.
tho if a guardian wanted to stop a survy they could just hold them not hit them
Animated obviously, 3d would probably fit best with Destinys existing artstyle
I've heard some people say they want destiny in edgerunnners or arcane style animation
Destiny could also work in 2d animation absolutely
Destiny would fit better as an animated where its almost real
Just dont make it too live action style
Keep it animated but close to much realist
But yeah a Destiny movie would be insane
The only narrative I would be fine with Live Action is a short tv style show about the K1 Crew
A collapse movie would be dope asf
That
I think that would work as live action but nothing else
Go watch Indipendence Day and stop before the Humans start winning lmfao
Already watched independence day and resurgence but its too unrealistic
My guy the Collapse was a solar system wide conflict between two, for all intends and purposes magical forces
Yeah and independece day happend on Earth
So did the bulk of the collapse
Only other places where shit went down was Titan
In the Collapse everyone just kinda died
But u can add scenes about Titan and how the Earth was destroyed and how The Traveler sacrificed
Savathun betrayal
There are many things u can add that would make the watcher interested
Not to mention based on Lodi cutscene we see that during collapse the rain turned into acid and there was nuclear war? There are many things u can possibily add in it
The things the witness did to humanity during collapse just because it hated the traveler were pretty disturbing.
Acid clouds leaving not even bones behind, creatures slaughtering people, "grabbing" titan and turning it into a egg before letting go causing an apocalyptic methane tsunami, etc
It saw our golden age as an insult to its ideals so destroyed basically all of it in anger.
Wasnt it Nezarec that commanded the whole attack
The Witness was most likely there but Nezarec was probably the one who commanded how the attack would go, and sinde he is the "god of pain" he basically commanded to be left nothing
Nezarec was under orders from the witness. Yes he would have definitely enjoyed causing suffering but the witness also had a personal grudge against the traveler and all it gave the light to.
Hell it calls our ghost an "insolent speck" in a pretty threatening way. Almost anything to do with the traveler seems to really make it lose composure
So seeing a whole civilisation blessed by it would have definitely made it go all out
Also The Witness voice in that scene went from that female echo voice to a angered male echo voice
Idk if I am tweaking or smth
Did you know that every "voice" of the witness is just one person? They are just having their voice altered to sound different
It's all one VA doing the work of a being made up of many voices
Never knew that actually
I actually thought it was a single voice but the echoes kept coming from others that were part of it
No. All voices from the witness are one VA just having their voice altered or talking differently.
His name is Brett Dalton
Bungie employing actual hive magic when creating the filters for Brett
No other way possible
Shits insane
'Brett Dalton' is actually a cover name. they keep Riven in a box in the basement and use her for voices sometimes
feeding Deerset Perpetual 18 units of ether
Take a metaphorical cookie
Speaking of did we ever find the VA for riven when she spoke with her true voice?
Call me crazy but it sounds a bit like ikoras original VA
Call me crazy but Ikoras and Savathun VA is now universal in Destiny
I was gonna say she sounds like Savathƻn
Riven ever spoke with her true voice?
Season of the wish. She even tells us that because of our partnership that she is speaking with her true voice.
lol
The whole season except for that one time she mimicked shaxx she was using her real voice
Yeah, and guess what
Sheās Calusā partner irl
Nah waht
Her name is Debra Cardona
Is the pale heart physically inside the Traveller in the conventional sense, or is the pale heart inside some sort of pocket dimension that is inside the traveler?
The latter
The inside of the Pale Heart is much much larger than the Traveler
Imagine it like a Tardis
I always thought that when we enter the Traveler
that fully white area is inside The Traveler
and then the pale heart is basically the heart of it
and inside the pale heart we are basically inside its heart
also Alex is there any paticular reason why Verity encounter looks similar to The Traveler in a way and after we complete it, its corrupted
its a lie
verity is a lie
from what ive heard
Also inside Verity we are umaking our Final Shape
also iirc it looks like that because of the mataiodoxia lore card
cause thats what the encounter is about
yeah
And somehow its poetic
since
we need the Traveler light and darkenss to unamke our final shape
and inside that room we are basically inside the somewhat tree thats growing up to the Zenith encounter (Witness)
thats not bloom
Really interesting
I still find the Light and Darkness saga much more interesting than this new one tbh
you can see the reality around the corner of your screen in that encounter
and while you're dead
quite neat!
Cause its an illusion
The Witness is still trying to get us on its side, at least thats the implications
Holy fuck thats so cool
Also the reason the space looks the way it does is because the Witness' monolith used to be a big tree of silver wings
Salvation Edge is fr the pinnacle of raids in Destiny lore wise and gameplay wise
Yeah I know that
.
ermmm garden of salvation?
EW
NO
JUST NO
the way i interpret it its the witness both trying to finalize us and finally look at us for a moment because we're getting close but also trying to show us "look, don't you want this for you? this perfect version?"
Pretty much yeah
See through the lies, look beyond the illusion
Yeah
So if The Monolith was made around a tree of silver wings
inside the pale heart where the light is prob the strongest
this explains why The Witness chose that area
Its where it originates yes
Also in the 3rd encounter u can see the snake in the corners of the rooms
The Pyramids that entered the Pale Heart at the end of Lightfall partly got repurposed as the base of the Monolith (likely the starting area that looks extremely old and the gigantic trophy room of 2nd encounter) before becoming a fusion of former Tree of Silver Wings and Witness
So The Monolith actually has insane lore
I thought The Witness literally chose that area cause it felt the best for him
It is part Pyramid, Part Tree part Witness
them
it
it yes
Also that tree is not bloomed
It used to bloom, but the WItness literally tore it apart
Also
Also
Also
When u start the raid
theres a column of light in the center of The Monolith
Thats likely the root of the former Tree
is that light beam going straight up to the platform where we can dps The Witness?
Yup
It goes up through the Trophy room of 2nd encounter all the way up to Verity and ends in the DPS platform
Also inside Verity is it possible to be the inside the stomp of the tree or smth like that?
Its hard to tell what part of the Tree it used to be
Cause we dont know how big it used to be
I feel like the only way the Witness could actually create the illusion was using the light within the tree itself
Cause like
u can tell based on how further up u go
in Verity ur ascending to its brenches
Darkness as a power is all about the mind and the mental
So it could very well be a Darkness related illusion
a reverse nightmare so to speak
Maybe
what do you reckon is the coolest raid encounter objective
obviously DROWNDROWNDROWN is banger
description
I never read those lmfao
sadge
Vow literally has the best intro out of all of them
Literally Mara talking then saying
Un-
Welcome
That was pretty cool yeah
The main reason why I play DSC is because of the ost and the vibe the raid gives
I really like DSC too, I think Descend is one of the coolest encounters thematically
Descend was indeed something insane
Stopping nukes while the station around you literally crashes towards Europa was hella cool
The blast doors outside closing on reentry just to break off
And our Guardians being hurt after that fall
Desert Perpetual so far was mid imo
the only thing I loved about it was the last encounter
and the animation of the giant harpy waking up
I really like the OST of Desert
Its all around bangers with the final boss being one of the coolest looking and sounding (OST) things in this game
And literally doing DPS ontop of the boss is cool
Still dont understand why tf they went with the non linear stuff
Cause its something new and refreshing and made for a pretty cool Day1 watching experience
Not really
if an encounter is completed
and u have 3 encounters on which teams could discover how to complete it
If youre actually one of the teams competing its a different thing yes
that means everyone would know 3/4 encounters in an instant
But if youre watching it was neat
Yeah I cant lie abt that
Skipping around to see who was where
but competitive wise non linear raids are not good
it was the best watching experience imo
I think the non linearity actually discouraged the usual black screen shenanigans going on
i can see why people would dislike the actual experience of playing it though
And guess what
They still did it
xd
But still
Verity day 1 was just
insane
everyone theorizing how tf do we unmake our final shape
Cause its a puzzle encounter
Those are the biggest day1 hassles
And the most fun to watch, thats when everyone actually gets the taste of the actual raid itself
and why its called a race
Initial Verity approaches were just black screen too tho
Again, its unavoidable considering the stakes
Verity with or without black screen was random
people figured it out the moment they realised that the inside has nothing to do with the outside
People did not figure it out the moment [...]
I know
6
Yeah
and the team that did it
said that they realised that outside has their own task and inside their own task
after that they pieced it together
Ghost mechanic was already discovered because most teams did progress on inside and outside by mistake
and they got it done
and they realised that in order to get out from the inside after u get the key its by hearing the crack noise of the glass wall
after outside is done
I know how Verity works
Yeah but I am talking day 1 and how they discovered it
I also know that lol
Its also not exactly lore related
You cant exactly use this approach when canonizing raid clears, because each of the players in that fireteam are The Guardian⢠(protagonist)
So it makes no sense
Then why Zavala said that a fireteam infiltrated the monolith and stuff
Because a fireteam infiltrated the monolith
But it wasnt the fireteam that actually got the contest clear
Not canonically speaking at least
So im just tweaking
Yes
Think about it
Each member of the Fireteam that did Day1 Salvations Edge had transendence and played the campaign except the only guardian that canonically got transendence and did the campaign is you the player
Its a simple disconnect between gameplay and lore like many things in this game
That actually makes sense now
its technically not inherently canon that you (the player) did Salvations Edge cause youd still be on the top of the Monolith while Zavala gives his speech
It could be that you and the rest of the raid fireteam teleported down real quick
But it doesnt have to be
If you didnt do the raid then in your game you just werent part of the fireteam that did Salvations Edge
Canonically speaking every guardian is their own person but The Guardian⢠that we experience the story through is just their own
Just because you personally didnāt play a story or something doesnāt mean it didnāt canonically happen
Heresy treated everybody like they were the ones who killed oryx whether they played D1 or even did KF or not
Indeed
SE is just a bit of a special case because they way its set up you (the player) didnt have to be the one who beat SE
In most other narratives it was actually you in the raid
i imagine it still took some time for everyone to assemble after stopping the witness
and they had to like go find the guy
Zavala literally said 'moments ago [...]'
Its very clear that Excission happened right after SE
The fuck is that 2nd t
how did we get down so easily from the top of the monolith
And lore wise why cant we use that everytime?
Or again, you just werent at the monolith to begin with if you didnt do SE
No, you need to set up transmat beacons which have an active range
Ships are equipped with one thats how Mara bailed us out at the end of the main Final Shape campaign
hmm
And others you just place down
we came so prepared
Its possible we had our ship on standby around the monolith and right after we clap the Witness it swoops by, picks us up and drops us off again at the foot of the monolith
You pronounce it like how El Macho reveals heās the bad guy in despicable me 2

ČČ
Ƥ
okay enough
Ok
so basically
its my native language
and Č and Č are basically letters from the alphabet
so nothing to worry
I expected as much yeah
Do you guys think old Chicago could ever live upto the lore
There isnt even like that much lore on it no
Some random vault in there where they found the funny meele auto rifle
big frog
Do we even know if that thing is real
Absolute cinema
We know somethings there whatever it is tho is unknown

Picked off multiple fire teams of guardians who knows maybe it's just the frog or another one of Chicagos mutants
I highly doubt the bigass frog from pre D1 vanilla concept art is ever going to be a thing
FROGS
i highly doubt YOU are a thing
DID SOMEONE SAY BIG FROGS
I am quite certain I am a thing
If old Chicago gets introducted and we get big frogs I am never going there
I am scared asf of frogs I have phobia
I want to thank @ember storm for the phenomenal setup, couldnt have done it without yo
I was about to send le frog but since you're scared I won't
But still š
Full thing you cannot post here for what should be obvious reasons
I will say the human posing arms spread like she's about to hug the creature is funny
I actually like this ine
We must be thinking of different versions of this then
Mayhaps
There's also these two art pieces
This does give me Maze Runner vibes
If u know the series
You sure the 2nd one aint just cosmodrome?
It's supposed to be Union station
āDude, are⦠are you real?ā
āI donāt know⦠I think I amā¦ā
Rene Descartes busts into the room
āYou know, thatās actually some pretty solid evi-ā
āRene Descartes?!ā
III was meant to be a cute starfish
Well not exactly a starfish
But something like that
Meant to be isnt exactly the right thing here, it was a possibility
Its still concept art
But I always found old Chicago interesting with it's cryptids, mutants, tombs and swamp setting
And let's not forget the gravity weapons hidden within it's wall
Yeah
Most things of Old Chicago are based on these old concept arts which arent canon
They might be if they do decided to ever take us there in the story
But eh
I wanna explore Japan if its possible
I love 3 cause not only is he Earth but he's also just a Eldritch horror cutie
I mean we have seen Asia within game so it's fully possible
I feel bad now
FICKING MAYA
Who was the commander inside her echo
Commander Te Qal?
Or something like that
Concept art is always cool because it gives you ideas that you can have play out in your head but just arent achievable ingame
Like this early Lightfall story concept art
Where there is an escape sequence of a Calus or Cabal monster
By far
The creepiest
Was the Salvation Edge ones
100%
The Witness in that moving form
Nah
š
This alternative poster for EoF is also quite cool imo
you jump then get ghost rezzed
easy
Mhm
Thats actually funny ngl
Rusted lands wich is crucible may be japan but it's just listed as eastern flooded zone earth
I love a bunch of the D1 concept art
This ones from destiny 2 but still horrifying
What makes you think its japan? It's got Russian Federal Bureau of Aeronautics logos on it and looks very much like old russia
I said it may not that it is all we know is it's Eastern earth
I only know Japan was mentioned by Lodi
With his dialogue with Ikora about her past self
Artstation is still pretty empty of EoF related stuff I hope we get some early story drafts and shit soon
Those are always neat
On Artstation its just stuff you can see in the raid or various props
Yeah
Nothing you wouldnt get to see by just booting up the game
It is quite cool to see the final boss animations from afar tho
And about arts
We can all agree
The Witness arts from Salvation Edge
Were the best ever created
In Destiny
Funny how there are no dread in EoF but here we have concepts for them

A "dreadified" orge
Bungie

Pretty sure thats older concept art for heresy, at least the Taken variant
Nope its edge of fate
my guy
This concept art probably goes back to the time of Final Shape release or even before
Do you know how far Bungie works in advance
Because that sorta stuff is usually kept under lock and key for a while
Bungie artists cant just post whatever they want that shit is confidential for a long while
Wanna know smth
But I cant
An epic raid gun has been exposed on artstation
And u tell me Bungie artists cant post anything when they want
...
What are you referring to
A major spoiler
That I dont wanna talk about
If u wanna see it, its on artstation
Posted by a bungie artist
Yes
Send it to me per DMs if its really a spoiler
I cant
wdym you cant
It dosent allow me to send to u
