Maya, too, wielded the Echo of Command, and used it to command the Vex and Saint
ya
So after the Echo ends up escaping we chase it throughout the Dreadnaught to prevent it from falling into Xivus or Savathuns hands, we end up battling forces of both heavily until the Echo of Oryx basically asks us to kill it realizing that apart from only being an memory of someone else the universe and the people in it that it thought it knew have all changed too much to be recognizable and no matter what it would always be hunteted by someone for it's power
So it accepts us to be its killer
Savathun gets suuuuper mad at us for this so she's gone from the sami-ally board back to properly against us
Eris and Drifter are a thing now (finally)
And uuuh Chess also happened
so wdym by the forms of the witness's past
Alright this should be the most crucial stuff mostly
they're memories. the Witness destroyed Riis, the Qugu, and gave Oryx the power to take
The Witness destroyed Riis. An Echo took on a memory of Riis. The Witness knew Oryx. It took on a form of Oryx. So on.
Memory
Memory given form and power by the Light
Memory of Dark given form by Light. Just like the Pale Heart itself.
The Pale Heart is a land formed of memory given form. The Echoes are, in many ways, the same.
what form did the echo take for maya like how did she control it
the Mantle around her neck is the echo
ah ok
It crashed into Nessus, remember? It interacted with the network, and that network data version of Maya claimed it.
Made herself an Exo body.
so the echo took the form of what fikrul used as his staff?
the Maya that claimed it was the Real Maya too. there are a bunch of copies of her in the vexnet from her Ishtar experiments, but after the collapse and landing on Neptune, Maya experimented with the veil, and this ended with her separating her consciousness from her body and going into the vexnet
The glowy bit on top.
got it
and this is the echo of navigation
btw who is lakshmi i know shes related to maya but as far as i remember i never met her
i do hear about her a lot though
Did you do Season of the Splicer?
literally only the first mission
Lakshmi was an exo on the Exodus Indigo with Maya, but she was wiped brain-dead with the experiments with the Veil, so Maya used her body to "clone" herself, reset it's memory and sent it to earth with a cloud strider patrol
Lakshmi-2 was the leader of the Future War Cult, one of the factions of the Consensus that led the Last City.
so she wasnt a guardian then right
Season of the Splicer was when we first met the House of Light, and through trauma and Savathun's machinations, Lakshmi tried to kill the House of Light and died for it.
nope
She was just an Exo
Bungie just casually drops this major lore reveal and we know practically nothing else about it
wait how long have we the guardian known miisrax
if anything it's a convenient excuse to use her model for the Conductor
Since... D2 vanilla, technically. We met him during the Red War on Titan.
oh ok i thought it was longer than splicer lol
that is longer than splicer
we knew of her
We knew of her since D1, but she lived in the Golden Age.
She lived and died long before we were resurrected
she's a very important golden age character
nope
They don't have one.
wb creator or anything
They evolved.
they're organic
yo what i gotta rewatch the faction explanation video
The Vex are, in truth, microscopic radiolaria contained within the "vex milk". The chassis are simply that. They're like mechs.
all vex are just parts of a machine. it's a hive mind that utilises slaving systems. the Computer (metaphorical) recognises an issue, gives the local units the necessary information and "commands" to resolve it (Which are what Vex Minds are)
So next time you walk through a lake of Radiolaria on Nessus, you're actually wading through Vex.
the vex milk is the living part? like bacteria?
mhm
thats so freaky yo
they're microscopic engineers
the Vex themselves are patterns held within the radiolaria
*not actually hive minded but similar
howd i not know this tbh
like computer bits
i think my assumption was that they were powered by the white stuff and then all connected through a network being given directives and such by someone the vanguard doesnt know
this is way cooler tho
every time Maya uses the echo of command, she's controlling billions of organisms
(if not trillions)
"how many vex does it take to pilot a goblin"
dealing with leftover shadow legion on Neptune I would imagine
Living and commanding the Cabal Ascendency. They're just living, really.
Very very very good predictions
No.
oop
that's because of the Sundial. Saint is from an alternate timeline
Our Saint-14 was pulled from a neighbouring, nearly identical timeline due to the Sundial, a device of paracausal power built by Osiris.
the vex do have time travel, just in a different way
ok but anyway my main question was
how do we physically interact with vex simulations
like entering the Vexnet and such?
yes i think
Savathûn (under the guise of Osiris) compares it to the Ascendant Plane
we use Splicing to take control of the network to make it into something we can understand
oh thats awesome
This isn't always the case, however. Some of the simulations do simply have a level of physical form, but they can't exist outside of their engines, such as with the Infinite Forest.
it's very enigmatic but it's like they convert space-time into pure data
so like the splicer thing makes sense but how does the infinite forest thing work then
studying destiny 2 lore > studying biology
and getting into the network is "uncompressing" it into something closer to its original form
I couldn't say in detail. But we actually use a form of this tech in the Last City. Some of our Crucible maps are simulations now.
I expect it's a similar line of tech to Engrams. Actual items that have been compressed into data.
it's like the holodeck from star trek
Which is itself akin to Glimmer
🤩
in a way
thats awesome yo
hey how come a sidearm and a spaceship have the same size engram
oh like sd cards i guess
because if they were relative it would be very hard to find weapon engrams
Concierge AI: Every day we're finding new applications for engrams that will make your life easier. At Clovis Bray, we're pushing the boundaries of computer science by utilizing the power of the engram. Would you like to know more?
Concierge AI: Engineers of the 21st century hit the physical limit in the advancement of silicon transistors, unabl...
cool!
Because engrams are physically encrypted matter. The same way two different physical books can be put onto a usb stick essentially.
You wouldnt download a sparrow!!
alright i gotta sleep now but thanks guys 😁
super appreciative and appreciative of yall being patient with me ❤️🌹
I would. Because I'm evil. 😈

Is strand spacetime?
No.
what is it
It's a bit like the matrix. It flows through and connects all minds and beings.
Like the ascendant plane it's subject to the influence of paracausal beings
They can pull things out, re weave them into new things
it's the threads of the net of consciousness
it's a very similar concept to the Weave from dnd
Again. Very matrix inspired with the whole secret web overlapping the world.
you have strings that connect your consciousness and thoughts to the world, and every other being around you
like a psychic internet
So how does that affect literally anything?
Like
Does your will determine ur destiny or some weird shit?
oh
but your will affects the others around you
how so?
this is getting into my personal theories on strand
alright
but every "intent" or will pulls on that string, and that pull tugs on everyone who will be effected
Your will determines how you'll be able to manipulate strand.
Strand doesn't effect destiny or anything. It's just a neutral force of the universe
it's been implied that the hive can see strand innately
Oh yeah
but for most other species it's invisible
unless you're trained to see it, you most likely won't
Do hive just eat a giant fucking worm or is it a ritual like in the parasite quest?
genuine question
The "consumption" isn't known.
to expand on this, it's how I think Severing works. if you cut off someone's connection to the web, then their intent doesn't pull as hard, and they do less damage
the other verbs are more self explanatory I guess
🤣
closest thing we have to spacetime is void I guess
How?
Debatable
it's gravity
Isnt it moreso the absence of shit
this shit just looks like a 3rd form of the light
the three light elements are all ways of manipulating the laws of physics. radiation, electric currents and gravity
the act of creating something from nothing
Elements in Destiny are funny
You got Fire, Electricity, void, Ice and the fundamental fabric of reality
(This is a joke)
The "void"
It's almost like it was supposed to be poison
As they say "flow like the river"
an absence of anything doesn't make sense in the context of a lot of abilities. what does a smoke bomb have to do with that
NEVER SPEAK AGAIN
Don't start that dumb theory
at least in my eyes, gravity makes more sense
tf does a tripmine grenade have to do with solar light
overshields are just repulsion. slowing or stopping projectiles with gravity. all the singularity stuff makes sense, it's easy to "weaken" someone if there being weighed down
Strand has nothing to do with poison what
or a knife
explosion
And also its way cooler than poison
hot knife
dawg
solar is the easiest to weaponise
stasis is the reduction of entropy
theres a difference btween hot thing and solar light
Our guardian seems to be kinda shit at it tho
Otherwise the cores in DSC and Vesper would be harmless

How???
Aka funky crystals
Cause we are basically magicians
its much easier to think of the light and dark powers as just straight up magic
it's called solar for a reason. it's the same mechanism
Do we manipulate radiation or do we make it with nuclear fusion?
most likely through the fusion
so we make it?
about sunless cell strike and oryx, there was some dialogue at the end when the boss is being transformed by taken blight
oryx says something "this is not my taking. knife of my slaying, to arms"
what does he mean by that, he did take the knight right. was it xivu who did the taking or was it future oryx and echo oryx doesnt know about that?
he did not
the Dire Taken aren't anyone that we know
it's said that the taken, without a will for so long, ended up creating their own god
The Lord Of Every Nothing
oh dire taken is new to me, thanks. another question is whats the timeline for alak hul. is the reprised sunless cell a retcon for d1 sunless cell?
guardians kill darkblade, but traveler gives light to the hive. then a ghost rezzes him and he becomes lightblade and guardians kill him again. but he's now imprisoned on oryx's ship. this is confusing lol.
it isn't alak hul
it's Obak-Hul
also a darkblade, just not the same one
Alak hul wasn't killed. His ghost got away at the end of that strike.
Xivu would never employ a lightbearer hive.
whats this mad thing im hearing about JFK
Nine had some influence on the event
maybe he is. he wouldnt remember being president
the jungles of Old Dallas....
John F guardian
The F stands for fury
Johnny Papuc
you know people keep talking about the jfk thing but nobody mentions that the lore talks about moscow
implying the ussr had gravity weapons
Nobody talks about how the history in Destiny universe was altered than ours
Advancement back then was extremely different to our own. Instead of bullets we started experimenting with plasma weaponry which is where things like fusion rifles come from.
Graviton lance was creating miniature black holes which IRL would possibly be the end of the solar system if it was fired even once
what stuff would be good examples of how warmind stuff is designed? like HoN, ikelos, or the architecture or armor, what would I have to gather together for all the aspects that make it up
or is media a better place to ask
Could you elaborate more?
Sleeper Simulant is literally the cannon inside Warsats
There's Pocket Infinity in D1
The seraph weapons and armor as well
Which are different from the IKELOS weapons which were specifically designed for the guardians
if I want to create something according to the design of the warmind Stuff, what should I look at? that help?
iirc?
I supposed it'd be IKELOS/Dvalin forge weapons if its in the modern day or Seraph gear if its golden age
Sorry lmfao I thought you were asking what it means
lmao i thought you were gonna drop some lore
and hierarchy of needs, soteria, would that be modern or golden age
or is soteria herself a product of golden age but slapped inside the modern age bow
Golden Age, given that the lore explains that the bow was just there (and seems to be a Seraph weapon) and Soteria just escaped into it
I see I see
Given the rest of the weapons are Seraph, that makes sense
that splinter of soteria that was sent to neptune and became the occlusion, what else happened there? did they use occlusion at all or what did it do or whathaveyou
it became a part of the cloudark iirc
the quest it's related to implies it's a "baby" vex mind but we know that's not how vex work
the fragment was just copying a vex signal
everything that looks like rasputin is stuff he basically designed himself because it looks like him
everything else is braytech or other golden age groups like the seraphs
Skulking around the tomb of elders.
He's a scorn so has no memory of who he was and is essentially this husk of a fanatical kell.
but at the same time there's room to grow
Fikrul had a team of knights who were capable of speech and self reflection
who ended up being the WR bosses
Only thing that seems to get his attention is the call of the challenge of the elders.
if Skolas is left to his own devices, especially considering he's a revenant scorn reborn in light
he has all the opportunity to actually make a comeback
he's still very cunning
the fact he resurrects himself at the end, laughs, and then chooses to retreat
my GOAT
a wolf through and through
Fikrul dubbed himself the "Lifegiver" and boasted about how the echo used light to resurrect
Maybe Skolas will be in the Plaguelands trying to open the Replication chamber with a monkey wrench to acquire SIVA
revenant scorn are supposed to be more advanced than standard ones
I know people would probably be very unhappy but I'm fine with him just remaining as this "boogeyman of the prison" all he knows is from his time in the prison.
i highly doubt they're just leaving Skolash to be an empty shell
he wouldn't know what it is
he literally leaves at the end of the activity
bungie is not going to just give up on scorn being a faction forever
they literally made entirely new models and a combat mechanic for them
he's going to come back
yeah as of now he's kinda their de facto leader
So wait, in theory someone like Aksis could return through Scorn? Or Vosik, Kovik etc
Not from the actual prison. Also they kinda have to. Fikrul, the witness and even riven are dead so there are no more ways of summoning and creating scorn anymore. Skolas will eventually be the only scorn left.
not anymore. eramis left with the echo of riis
dark ether is not a limited substance
as long as it exists it can infect other ether which is all that's needed
the machinist was literally stockpiling giant vats of dark ether to use in the forsaken campaign
all you need is an eliksni corpse
their bodies are all entirely gone now so
can't bring back skelebones
there was barely anything biological left of them to begin with
I never said it was but we don't have any other beings who would even know how to do that whole process. Unless eido decided to experiment or something.
The eliksnis story is pretty tied up now and aside from this new fallen house of exiles I don't really see anything more coming from them for a while.
Even the Nine aren't as powerful as plot convenience
again, scorn are not mindless zombies
they know what they are and they know how to make more of themselves
they act purposefully because they want to
the throne world scorn only got there because they willingly followed the witness, they weren't drawn in like taken are
Fikrul should've literally just have gone after SIVA. SIVA + Echo is a gg
I mean there's hope that without fikrul they could just be peaceful
condemning Skolas' revival to just "yeah he's stuck in a seasonal activity that will be vaulted in one day" forever is a million times worse than actually doing something wiht him
it doesn't exist anymore
all siva is inert
colony ships were outfitted with a limited amount of siva that needed to be activated and actually programmed
the entire exodus black is in pieces
that supply is gone
there's no replication chamber to actually program it or make more of it
(and technically quicksilver is an advanced form of Siva)
What if the Nine create a new SIVA, not SIVA but like a weird Nine blessing or something
the Giver sounds sus
what
why would they do that
Like they create something to empower a race
the "gifts" the giver is giving the house of exiles is the dark matter fungus and strand
Like the Witness did
why would it have to be remotely related to siva
the emissary is what they do to people
Orin quits right?
how do you quit the Nine, surely something of that cosmic scale already planned for it
Orin had retained some of her own will this whole time
like she flat out refused to allow the nine to completely control her
Is that from the "we don't understand" Jokers Wild stuff
Willpower.
The nine didn't have as much a hold on her as we thought. Even back in prophecy there's a moment where she explicitly states its orin talking and not the emissary.
the nine simply don't understand life forms or emotions at all
she's had 1:1 conversations with them about this stuff
I wonder if Ghaul will come back
she has had multiple conversations with them, even after becoming the emissary
I highly doubt that
'I am not your pawn. My will is my own. Though… perhaps not my actions, of late.'
I miss Ghaul :((
he should've been melee focused
i have no fucking idea why they gave him a slug launcher
not even the centurion shotgun
actually moronic
seasonal narrative was on a generational run from Beyond Light to Seraph
imagine if he had a warhammer that would be imbued with the light in his super forms
I'm so glad we've moved past the Veil
the winnower in question
I knoww, but like I'm too stupid for all the Veil stuff, I still don't even know what it actually is, Osiris yapping god knows what science at me
it's a dark counterpart of the traveler and the two may have been part of a larger whole originally
that's literally it
it's a conductor and amplifier for consciousness basically
Osiris kept explaining it, but explaining nothing at the same time, it was exhausting
it can meld minds together
that's how the witness was made
it's always confusing when things become metaphysical
we don't know the extent of its abilities, only examples of what it's capable of
The Witness was easy to understand, I just don't understand why the Witness needed the Radial Mast, and the Veil when it drew a triangle to enter anyways, unless the Veil did something to allow the Witness to enter?
the radial mast is an artifact of light
the veil works as a Bluetooth connection for the witness to "commune" with the traveller
ah now that I understand
this is why osiris assumes the two are two parts of a larger whole
like, there's a particular reason that linking the two together formed a direct gateway to the pale heart
but why couldn't we follow?
a fruit and a branch of a larger tree, one might say
we could, but there was no way to safely navigate
it was extremely volatile and dangerous to do so
see our boy joxer
poor poor joxer
why was everyone dying when they went in, or being disfigured like that titan, but the entire vanguard and we made it through unscathed
they were reformed into the monolith
you can see they literally turn to mist as they enter the portal
rather than simply floating in as a whole like the witness and our vehicles
and the one that got bonked by the traveller is still in orbit iirc
the witness' transport one that held nezarec's head, yes
now it's just a crucible map :)
So how did people like Mithrax get in?
also followed crow
crow mapped out the safe passage
oh
through the ahamkara wish that literally asked to follow the witness' path
so we just had to go in after him
and if you remember it wasn't exactly foolproof either
he was in there for a very long time lol
our and ikora's ships both ended up crashing
chilling with cayde for a couple months doesn't sound terrible
Wait hold on if the Pale Heart is memory, surely that means it could reanimate the memory of say Oryx? Or maybe a Dreadnaught?
Since the Witness recreated Zavala's family
I noticed a bit of Kings Fall on the trail into the Pale Heart
no and no
it was just formed at first by the first few who entered it
it is not literally a direct 1:1 of everything we've ever experienced
it can't make people either
safiya was just an illusion that the witness induced on zavala
but if it can create Zavala's house and the Tower, it can create a Dreadnaught?
all it could do when it finalized the universe is put Zavala in a recreation of one of his cherished family moments
no
wait yeah I'm misremembering
that would be way too big and obstrusive to do
there's nobody who'd enter the pale heart and have memory exclusive of the entire dreadnaught
at most you'd get a weird approximation of one room
which is literally what happens in the opening mission btw
it's a visual synopsis of our journey
this is the kings fall chamber
starts us with Cosmodrome stuff, then it transitions to the kings fall stuff
and then I think there was some Vexnet matter in there
it's been a while
The Echo motif is still prevalent in the music for Edge of Fate
do you think there's more
?
or at least a knock on effect
well
Maya is on Kepler
we see her hologram things and the Nessian Schism in trailers
she's in possession of the only echo in the sol system
Yeah that makes sense, the motif is too constant to be coincidence
what is the echo motif
one sec

ABOUT DESTINY 2: THE FINAL...

The echo motif
Second encounter track of Sundered is built around the motif which is cool
Sundered is such a cool dungeon overall honestly, the music reflects Rhulk's percussive BPM, takes from the Taken King and Witch Queen too and of course Echoes
I like how the intro to Kerrev's theme references First Disciple
exactly! so cool
do ghosts, or exo’s, have to sleep? either mentally or physically
thinking about Moss-2 and his ghost, the guardian with a neural connection to his ghost, and if while moss were to sleep (if he could, or does), and rest his mind, if his ghost could take over the body
exos technically don't need to do anything, Clovis designed them so, but he soon figured out that people go insane if they can't eat, drink or sleep
something about their brain thinking that because they can't fulfil those needs (even if those needs are purely psychological), they must be dead
of course Moss is an incredibly special case that we don't know much of anything about
I suppose with moss’ implant already crossing the DER line, not sleeping anyway seems reasonable
I suppose I wondered if standard exo’s needed to physically rest also, or if their body could do things while they’re consciousness sleeps
considering that they don't have muscles to tire
probably not
it's all just the psychological element. just because you're physically capable of working 12 hour hard labour shifts doesn't mean you wouldn't get bored or want a break
and theoretically someone could "pilot" an exo unit while the mind is sleeping but I doubt such a system was put in place
definitely sounds like something Clovis would do
Sun tweet
"hand to my heart/darling we're a mess" didn't know the sun was smooth like that
They're not lyrics as far as I can tell
anyway reference to the fact they're split 4/5 still, and the butterfly effect
which itself is referencing their preferred way to interfere with events
So lore question. ||Can Eris even leave her throne world? I know Mara can but she is also (as far as I can tell) far more powerful than Eris.||
she literally does so in Heresy
I must have missed that. Or just forgotten.
the whole point of reforging willbreaker was to use it to cut open the connection between her throne and the material plane
sorry that came off as harsh
Do we actually see her leave her Throne World?
Yes, but we always go to her. We never see her outside the throne world
Now I think about it, yeah
actually that's a good point
We cut our way into her Throne but that might be different from having conjured her back from it
Unless I’m forgetting some moment or some lore tab
we did that with the ritual of Vengeance, no?
the part where drifter tries to recite the spell and just gives up halfway through
He does his best lol.
I think I just assumed Eris stayed in her throne because it was new and she was exploring it and its capabilities
That was all just part of reaching her, no? We could only hear disjointed fragments of her before that, and not properly communicate
Potentially
Imma ask around in the Cryptarchy for people’s thoughts
there's no reason she shouldn't be able to leave
Id think so too but even other people in story specifically go to her throne world instead of her going to see them.
Why would you need to ask Cryptarchy? Aren't you Eris?
Sloane, drifter, all of them go to her new Taken Hub
to be fair she was also babysitting the echo
Thats true for a time but even after the Echo is killed, she stays.
Someone's observation on the Nine tweets
I've only found 5
I was just gonna say that lol
Was hoping it was going to mean something bigger but it genuinely is just a weird spot the difference
im at 3
Visor, both rocks, the satellite tower in the back, and a tiny vine at the bottom of the center rock
Titans visor colours are different
it's more clear if you go to twitter and load in 4k but it's very bs
Yeah but that requires opening twitter and I'm allergic to that
||on the middle rock there is 1 tiny ball missing from the bottom of the left clump of fungus||
fair enough
also missed opportunity to make it 9 differences?
bungie what are you doing smh
finished reverent
so like
where did eramis go
just like west foreverr
or did she go towards where riis was
or do we not know
Unknown aside from she left Sol to rebuild a new Riis. Whether that means going back to the actual planet of Riis or settling on another planet is unclear.
💯
she's going to go crawling back to her wife begging PLEASE I'M NOT A DICTATOR ANYMORE LOOK THIS GLOWY STAFF SINGS TO ME
Hope she doesn't try to rebuild Riis using that fancy heretical stasis of hers.
Crystal palace would go hard though
Eramis could go on an Elsa arc
you know i get why eramis didn't wanna stick around to try and cure every single scorn in existence
way too much effort
but like
not even a quick pitstop to seraph station for praksis
nah she's just fucking outta here lol
She already hated Sol and the traveler enough. Don't blame her just wanting to hyperspeed out of town.
yeah but like it'd take half an hour maybe
for someone who she treated as a friend and had to see personally defiled
We did kill praksis as a scorn and iirc they weren't brought back by fikrul or anything so doesn't seem like she could have really done anything at all.
Praksis can rest.
And other notable eliksni figures who became scorn.
Is there a lore reason why Cayde couldn't come back to the tower in TFS?
He turned himself into Light to bring our Ghost back to life
Excision's cutscene is just exactly that
Yeah but before that
He says himself he doesn't think he can come back and I'm wondering why
It was in a radio log yeah but obv taken before excision
Because he probably instinctually knew that he couldn't exist outside the Traveler/Pale Heart. Also, why, for lore reasons, would we end our mission to stop the Witness to sit down for some ramen back in the Tower?
Who says that he couldn’t?
I do :)
Me and my non-existant degree in English literature says there's clearly enough textual evidence to support this. I'm also making some parts of this up but I do fully believe he wouldn't have been able to leave the Traveler had we had the time to actually not pursue the Witness
He's made by Crow's Ahamkara wish and he's shown being turned either into, or back into, pure Light during Excision. There's the line where he himself says he doesn't think he can come back. There's a line from Crow about "being capable of things you don't even understand yet".
The entire campaign they're foreshadowing that he's not going to live
Because he chose not to, not because his options were limited
Iirc, his line about not knowing if he can come back is a comment about the fact that he died, that people grieved him, and he feels he can’t exactly just reinsert himself into people’s lives
It’s about the themes of grief and moving on and how Cayde felt about his death. Not a comment on any physical limitation on him
I don't suppose you have the actual line in question? I don't recall it word for word, but I believe that's how I interpreted it too.
Me or Eris?
I was replying to Eris, but whoever has the line can post it. Make it a race. Who lores faster.
I'd check myself but I'm on mobile and at work so I'm limited haha
I don't know what mission it'd be from
Or if it’s specifically from a mission lol
That too
"Cayde-6: But life isn't about holding on forever.
Cayde-6: I mean, I was… gone. Mourned. At peace. And now, I'm… here. Opening old wounds, filling 'em with salt.
Cayde-6: Eventually… you have to let go."
Is the best I have from Requiem
have any ghosts ever died in the crucible/gambit
mhm
🥀
Dredgen Yor and Shayura
ive heard that name before..
Dredgen Yor is the original user of thorn and just actively killed guardians and their ghosts because of his corruption
and Shayura went kinda crazy when people started using Stasis and gave people their final deaths if she found out they were using it
but she's since turned herself in and is trying to make amends for what she's done
Probably because of trials weapons
Shayura's Wrath and so on
That’s the vibe I’m thinking of but I know it’s not the quote here
not their ship and not a suicide
cool lol
Is there a known reason as to why saint mainly uses void light?
Most Guardians have a subclass they prefer
Easy to specialize
oh
strictly speaking though it's just about how much a person can remember
they're just techniques. a person could learn karate and boxing and cavalry archery, or they could just focus on one
are malfeasance and barrow dyad weapons of sorrow or something different? And are the two even related to each other?
malfeasance is based off of thorn, and barrow is just a weapon of hive origin
but neither are true weapons of sorrow
malf was made by the drifter
hello a monkey tier lore question i have
nezarec has the helmet exotic nezarec's sin are there any other items in the game that are of direct relation bar conditional finality
there's a glaive that came out in haunted
Nezarec's Whisper
the delicate tomb too
oh yes
alright. i was just thinking because both (malf and dyad) deal with blights in a way.
fair
I think the only weapon of sorrow related to taken specifically is the Touch of Malice
that seems right.
is osteo striga also just a hive gun then?
yep
i really like the whole "weapon of my enemy" thing those got going. want more of that
generally all weapons of sorrow were either directly crested by the hive or with hive parts
there's like 4
Theres the devour bullet the Barons used to kill Cayde but that doesnt really count as a weapon
thorn, necrocasm, osteo and touch of malice
Osteo is one?
mhm
Neat
i c thanks
Not exactly. They are a ploy by the hive to corrupt humanity. Basically the hive weapon master would create weapons like the necrochasm which was originally a human weapon but now twisted by hive magic in an attempt to lure guardians in with power. And if they took this power it would consume them and they'd then turn against their own from the inside.
The weapons of sorrow are dangerous, hungry and a lot of guardians save for us obviously are consumed by that dark power such as people like jana 14 who now treats the osteo striga like her own child.
The tale of Rezzyl Azzir becoming Dredgen Yor really speaks for itself on that front
Exactly. A guardian simply taking a trophy for his weapon turned him into a murderer of other guardians through hive whispers.
Mhm
im not talking about weapons of sorrow specifically. More so skyburners, lord of wolfs, qb, acrius, heir apparent and whatever i forgot to list. i would also evil deeds to get dregs promise back
There's sort of Trespasser. While it's not an Eliksni weapon, Shiro did build it from their weapon parts.
Ex Diris is a semi boomer knight gun no?
Basically
Mhm
There's whatsitcalled... charge up pew pew rocket barrage
That's the one
Yeah whats its name
Grand overture
Thank you
Retro with the win
Still a little crazy that we haven't yet gotten the void weapon the centurions use a lot of.
Psions wield them sometimes
They should make a glaive thats just the Eliksni arc lance that Vandals sometimes run around with
Its so obvious
That's the one
Oh yeah those weapons were very cabal looking.
Pyroclastic flow as well
What other guns from our enemies would be neat to have
That centurion one I mentioned, a dread weaver/attendant "resonance rifle"
I think they should make a gun that launches the little worm thingies that control the whatever that one dread enemy is called
You know that one
Husks? You mean their geists?
Yeah those
Like a special ammo weapon similar to Parasite where you just send out those homing worm thingies
What about a weapon that can do the same tinnitus effect that grim have.
Good idea
Make it a Titan exotic that is just a pair of arms with some big music boxes as pads
And every time you cast your barricade it sends out a tinnitus inducing wave into that direction
So uuhh where we gonna start about Urshenkov and his Fireteam Of Rage?
His World War 2 past first or just skip straight to D2 timeline?
Well uhh if we skip then you all will be confused of the conception consider almost everything heavily connected to his WW2 past
Who?
Typically speaking, modern age humanity has very little idea about what happened in the Golden Age, and most people don't know much about prior to that, either. Not to mention that Guardians have a bit of a code not to look into the lives of their past selves... so you could quite easily skip ahead to the modern time of D2, depending on how much you want the reader to know.
Fanfic characters that ivan is writing
Well, maybe I would start with ww2 first consider... Damn, it's epic
realistically, how much of an impact does the world war 2 stuff have on the rest of the story
Alot
Especially on.... Urshenkov personal thing, but maybe it would be different case for other part
Oh
ah ok
But maybe, for mods, I want... Any of you to take action immediately if some of the lore contain something too heavy considering it is heavy lore lol, maybe replace it with something tamer because this lore were really meant to be edgy and brutal
Date: 1930
Urshenkov born in 30 Dec 1922, the exact same time when the Soviet union formed, he was once a kid who live in a village that located near ST Petersburg, when he was 8 years old, Urshenkov was a happy kid who seemingly would have a great future, but everything changed when an anti-soviet group invade their village for unknown reason, the group was extremely hostile towards the establishment of Soviet Union, there, Urshenkov was held with his older brother watching their parents being martyred, Urshenkov, scream for his parents, couldn't do anything, helpless, until the army of Soviets union arrive, killed the members of the attacker and saved civilians, including Urshenkov and his brother, there, Urshenkov, inspired to join the army, with his brother, but it didn't last long in the winter war....."
hi does anyone know of any high quality images up close of nezarec's eyes
i do not mean in game i mean in artstyle format
artstyle format? how do you mean
the creature designers really cooked with nezzy
that's also concept art which doesn't reflect the actual look
yes thats fine
unfortunately you're not gonna find much of anything that isn't fan art
here's a closer (but untextured) look
that would be perfect if they had textured it
this should be a higher resolution version of the first one
alas, i shall throw myself off a cliff
looking for a pfp?
no
i am writing up a dnd session, and require a reference image to utilize for some eyes and i thought his would work well
ah
maybe tormentors have an upclose like i am looking for
if nothing else you have the colour and pupil shape
Tormentors don't really have eyes. Just a pyramid on their head
am aware, meant the light source
man I should look at concept art more this is cool
they are very good yes
this seems to be the clearest actual look at the light source
this looks like a reaction image
every other image I can find had the light actually blooming
yeah i meant blooming
thanks
Hey guys why do ghosts choose exos and not revive the original body instead? Are they stupid?
?
Exominds, the mind has to come from somewhere yeah? Why not revive that original body
Because they found the Exo?
Exos aren’t exactly carrying their human corpses everywhere with them

No, like, there's the exo and then there's the body the exo came from. Why not revive the body the exo came from?
The Ghost is looking for their partner. They find the body of an Exo and feel a pull to it. Why would they then leave that Exo and go looking God knows where for a different corpse to revive?
This might sound exophobic but why settle for the facsimile and not get the real deal
Makes sense
Personally, my theory is that Clovis Bray himself eats your body when you become an exo. Too fragmented to revive :/

not a true robot enjoyer are we
I was legitimately curious
more elsie bray for me then
No I do like her
given what atraks did to her corpse it might be this
not that he literally eats them mind you
but i think seeing your alive flesh body (with no soul inside it) would probably give you DER
You think Clovis would let exomind participants get access to their "old" bodies?
that said if you wanna get onthological about it i'm p sure the exo process takes your whole ass soul and spirit away from your body so your body is just
cells and shit
that couldn't be revived with a ghost
no, which is why he probably just chucks them out of the station
rememember that clovis saw the human biological body as flawed and cringe
would he not experiment on them?
honestly probably not? he has more interesting thing to work on
Lemme get this straight, because the original body is already nowhere to found but their Exo frames
Yeah true, he made exos he probably doesnt care about the flesh bodies
Maybe throw it somewhere in a slums
Continuing
Date: 1939, Winter War, Finland
Urshenkov and his brother, now 17, in the army, was sent by their commands to patrol around the base, at first it seemingly to be a normal patrol, but everything changed when he and his brother were captured by the Finnish scouts, they being brought to somewhere in the middle of the winter, frostbitting temperature really soaked the place, there, Urshenkov and his brother being interrogated, Urshenkov refuse to talk, then the capturer try to make Urshenkov brother to talk by force, there, Urshenkov had to watch his brother being brutalized, the only family member he had left, now die infront of his eyes
we know this from mask of Bakris but that would be an incredibly traumatic event
There, Urshenkov show the early sign of his rage, the capturer saw his eyes, burning crimson, his vein and muscle bulging, his teeth clenching, he break himself free from the chair, then killed the capturer, one by one, no mercy shown by him, then he come to his brother, murmur him, but he had no time left, the enemy outside already alerted, Urshenkov grab his Mosin, and obliterated them, the enemy saw it, they saw their bullets go through his body, but he didn't even flinch, he keep walking, shooting, yelling, like. A mindless beast
in theory I guess it would be possible for a person who was uploaded to an exo could be resurrected and their exo self could also be around too. but most likely they cremated the bodies of those who were uploaded
I know Elsie specifically asked for her body to be laid to rest in the oceans underneath the Europan ice sheets though
Europa or Europe?
Europa = Europan
Europe = European
it was autocorrected to European at the time the question was asked
And when his commands and other soldier from the battalion arrived, they saw the ground is flooding bloods, bodies of their enemy just laid everywhere, they find Urshenkov, unconscious, but they feel a strange present inside him
There, they heard a vague voice saying "Rage.... Survival.... Urshankrav...."
-# The name Urshankrav will be revealed even further in the D2 timeline
Back to topic, his commands punished him, making him not allowed to use anything far more lethal than a Mosin
Hey i’m just wondering what will edge of fate be about, like the general story and theme. I can’t find much is it supposed to be mysterious? i know it’s about the emissary leaving the nine and the nine are looking for a new person to fill the role. I want to know why are we going to kepler and a little background
The Nine
the nine invited us to kepler?
alongside Ikora, yes
Yep. They arranged it so we wouldn't say no.
why? that’s what i’m trying to figure out
they've kept the plot fairly under wraps
They want our help with something we think
seems cool though
the nine are enigmatic
wow
bungie really left it vague
that’s cool
what is the emissary
The Nine have always been mysterious
yeah fair enough
Orin
The floating lady from Rite of the Nine
she was the Emissary
yeah isn’t she like tryna leave the nine
and she’s trying to quit?
unlike Xûr, she retained a small part of her will and actively argued with the nine several times
essentially yes
wasn’t she a guardian turned agent
mhm
and the nine are trying to fill that role i presume
which we have assumed is the role Lodi is "auditioning" for
the guy with glasses in the trailers
ahh, he lowkey look like my dad 😭
he was a linguist for a U.S. government agency called the Department of External Observations in the 1960s
oh wait didn’t he assassinate jfk with graviton lance?
no
god that cross video has baited so many people
there's some contextual lore about the DEO that came with the collectors edition that references a gravitational anomaly within JFK's wound
that's literally all we have on it
so that’s why the trailer had some 1950s stuff phone
it's implied the nine influenced it for whatever reason
probably to get Lodi to work for the DEO as setup for bringing him to Kepler
ohh
is there any info on the season? like what the story is about
the season is mostly unrelated
do we know anything
there's no more seasonal storyline but we get a general theme
oh really? so no more missions
do we get a seasonal activity
the foundries and the vanguard are working on reclaiming things on the planets and moons we got back
I think so? good news is that it's f2p
that’s cool
only paid part of seasons are the reward passes
We don't know if it's related. Events might occur that effect the season as most do during an expansion. Bungie have only said the name and where we're going
We know nothing else
So to get things straight, edge of fate onwards is a complete new ‘saga’ and has nothing to do with the last 10 years of destiny besides incorporating characters we already know like zavala and ikora etc
pretty much
the black fleet is no more
We don't yet know our next true big bad
ahh okay that’s pretty cool i was wondering
All we know is something is wrong on kepler and the nine are starting to play a bigger part in things
bit off topic but the download size is 133gigs on xbox 😭😭😭
That’s really cool i’ve always loved the nine
The game is being overhauled and changing massively
is the raid in eternity, that’s what it looks like from the image
No idea
yeah i know it’s still crazy though
We just know it's name
hmm cool
And what i'm guessing is the intro
judging by the one shot we have from the trailer it will be
yeah i thought
another question
what is renegades? i know its star wars but is it cannon or nah and is it a part of star wars and destiny or just destiny
Not everything is in eternity. Like the haul for example. The realm of the nine isn't a "place" in the traditional sense
but it's otherwise not related
It's just the space western theme first done by star wars but still an original destiny story
yeah I know
but it's still got the Unknown Space architecture
lightsabers

None of the lore of Star Wars cannon will be added to Destiny 2
ah i see
You will not fight Palpatine in a Death Star dungeon
so there won’t be like star wars enemies and stuff
nope
you know that’s what i was hoping
will there be lightsabers
it's just a space western on a desert setting
that will give us a lightsaber and a blaster
i saw the trailer i thought that it was tatooine
if anything we'll be in contact with the spider as the main overwatch
Drifter if anything considering we're hunting a Dredgen
ahh i see
spiders a cool character
My money's on the new dredgen being jana 14. The owner of the osteo striga and a very sadistic and evil warlock.
being a dredgen seems like a weird turn for her tbh
she's nowhere near the criminal mastermind villain type, she's literally just a disturbed serial killer
Even serial killers can act civilised and even IRL serial killers are pretty damn smart in a very frightening way.
yeah but she's not like a dexter type
she's literally skulking around alleys, showing people her bundled weapon, and leaving them in rotted disembowled piles
how does one go from that to literally running a criminal empire
Well we don't know if it's her criminal empire. She could be the target but there's a lot of room for other characters who could also be running those syndicates. Spider could be one of them, drifter definitely given he used to be a dredgen. And possibly new characters.
Spider is def a jabba the hutt stand in type character.
thank you neptune
truly a lore moment
Why does one of the pictures in the "installing" screen show an icy moon orbiting Saturn? Which one is that?
Enceladus?
Do exos eat?
Yes
Because Clovis Bray in his infinite genius decided to put human minds in normal robot bodies and discovered the human mind requires all the basic bodily functions to work properly.
MODS
MOOOOOOODS
Are we allowed to discuss new lore in here?
or rather potential new lore
Something something singularity
Probably allowed to discuss things as long as it's just speculation based on what we already had before EoF
But not based on anything new
I'm sorry but you're saying a lot of things to say a whole bunch of nothing, this is exactly why I'm asking lmao
Human minds having the sudden realization that they shouldn’t be alive causes a mental breakdown that always ends in immediate suicide, so
Exo bodies are specifically designed to simulate human functions like eating, sleeping, and breathing
Ah right
New stuff in spoiler channel for now please
alrighty
Can there be a common knowledge channel for old stuff
?
Make a limited time channel to discuss the opposite of spoilers
...
It is good idea
Hmmmm
Continuation
Date: 1942, World War 2, in a frontline trench between opposition force and Soviet armies, The Second Attack Of The Dead Men
Urshenkov was deployed there, among the Soviet soldiers, Urshenkov already became a myth after his Finland rampage, anyone hesitant to be near him
But suddenly... And attack by their enemies, the opposition force use the same chemical gas from the Osowiec, the first Attack Of The Dead Men
The soviets wasn't prepared, the gas make their skin irritated, they vomit bloods, Urshenkov is one of the soldier that got affected by the gas, his lips, peels off, melting, only left flesh and his teeth
But Urshenkov feel the same rage that he unleashed in Finland, he began to stood up, be the first to show up Zombie-like, Infront of the enemies, they saw his lips, completely altered, then, he began to shoot, shoot, and shoot, the enemies try to kill him, but he doesn't fall, slowly the other soldiers began to rise again, joining Urshenkov who lead the undead soviets
There, Urshenkov iconic war cry was first heard
"УРАА!"
Oh @sick yew is there any message on this that go against the rule? If there so, maybe you could ask me to edit it
Anyway uh @trim grotto , if you read the page from Urshenkov traumatic childhood, his Finland Winter War first rampage, to this current, you could see why I didn't make Urshenkov forgetting his past and break the guardian code you mentioned before
I’d prefer if fan made content remained in #🏆destiny-media instead of lore
But people keep asking me to put it in this channel
They are?
Yeah...
Damnit baguette
Back to topic
Urshenkov finally falls after the enemies retreat out of fear, the paramedic arrive and brought Urshenkov and the other to the medic camp
Urshenkov skinless lips became his most famous traits
@buoyant horizon considered your a fans of Urshenkov, maybe you would love this, scrolls down and you'll the lore continuation
Uhh I'm not sure if other headcanon/fanfiction writter would love it too-
theres a lot of nine-based visual design going on that i think is super cute
like not The Nine just
thing that are nine
like there's nine rings and nine receptacles for the hourglasses
i cant lie, its extremely weird to use actual wars, let alone, world wars, as part of your character lore
Well
Actually Urshenkov wasn't D2 fanfic character at first
But consider I already throw away the series and Urshenkov is the only character I want to keep
So I made him one
I keep his WW2 related past for originality
The main character of the past series is Urshenkov, Vedev, Rykov Karlenko, Nevgerev, Kagerev, Ana, William Krueger, Jacob Pokorski, the other character are being put into my Countryhuman Series as an Easter egg and memorial, Vedev is the only one that were also in D2, as Dmitry Ghost, one of the member of Urshenkov fireteam
Kagerev is Urshenkov son, while Nevgerev is his Grandson, so possibly they will appear soon
Anyway uhh why is it weird?
theyre actual wars that took place that affected real people and communities, some still feeling the effects of what happened to this day, using it for lore of a character of a video game set in space and on different planets kinda just feels inappropriate for the severity of what happened
Sooo I can't do it?
Just... don't
Wait I have to remove a lore that I've been working on for a long time?
Just... No. please, I would not, I put my love in this lore and I have to get rid of it?
I think what you need, friend, is a community who focus on fanfic. This discord doesn't really have a fanfic community.
And maybe focus more on the known realm and time of Destiny. People fell in love with Destiny's timeline of the Golden Age onwards, even if your characters pre-Golden Age history is relevant to their development.
There are groups out there who have thriving fanfic communities. Heck, even Destinypedia has one.
||Which probably explains some of their page entries to be honest||
Destinypedia kinda waters down all the cool Destiny theories that Bungie never wants to admit are true.
There's actually one problem that made me barely got into one.....
I actually know one.
What is it?
My friend Ultrarisen owns it
Well no that's not it
Most of my stuff are..... Extremely Irrelevant
Not quite the way I would have phrased it.
Well that one is about retelling Destiny 2 Pyramid race.
And even if I did caught up their attention, most people would just take a look at me and go like "Bro, why are you making these?"
🙂 Be like me. Make a whole lot of pyramid ships, every time you take an L, you make a Pyramid Render
All I can do is drawing buff character
And uhhh make conception
Keep at it, oh, and stay away from the brain rot, it will kill your creativity.
Such as uhhh, a runes meaning depend on the colour it painted in, such as Algiz, protection, Blue mean protect with loyalty, love, and honor, while red mean protect with hate and brute force
I’d say stick close to what you love. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do.
Well, you know their past. Write their future, too.
Destiny's universe is a big place. Aliens, dimensions, futuristic tech, a struggling city of humanity. If you want Destiny fans specifically to enjoy it... Show them Destiny. The Collapse to modern day was hundreds of years. There's a lot of potential.
Wait, I already do that alot
Such as Urshenkov upcoming battle with Hansër, a mirror of him, which will take place in the last city
But it... Would mention mythology
Real mythology
Such as Urshenkov was already being prophecies by the gods across pantheon, Norse, Slav, Aztec, Egypt, all mention the same figure, a red skinned warrior, but not his name
Well, it's your story. It doesn't have to be a perfect copy of Destiny. It can be your AU.
You just need to be mindful of what it is youre writing, and where you share it to, cause some of the things you glorify would come off the wrong way to many people, especially in current times
Oh
Well, I think I will focus on my Httyd headcanon because that's was my main lore
you can always create your own wars, you have full control of your oc's history and lore, you can fully create a war that suits your guardian oc (well, before they were a guardian)
Aaa I would just say straight no to this
Well, I have to go
I just finished the story. HOLY SHIT
Can't wait to discuss it when spoilers are lifted
Get out of here you two I haven't even finished my shift yet
No, Mael is right
To #1394367773207040042 with you two
#1394367773207040042 for you too
how dose strand enemy's work in lore aren't we meant to be like the first and only to know about it
We were the first to know but the Witness took notice and simply explored it in the time between Lightfall and Final Shape
what hasent the whitness stole
Are the vex more powerful than the nine?
...that's a hell of a comparison.
I... really... can't compare them like that. The Nine are bodiless swirls of dark matter caught in gravitational loops, the Vex are microscopic Radiolaria piloting mechs.
The Vex can leave this system, the Nine are trapped within it.
The Nine are... more "powerful" within it, I suppose?
Like this is a very difficult way to compare
So it's like immovable object vs. unstoppable force, except the unstoppable force has a record of destroying an immovable object?
the immovable is of course Saint
I just can't say that either being is more "powerful" when it depends on the context.
oh alr
imma be honest
I don't care for the nine
but
is there even anything else they could've done?
lorewise ofc
What?
like, next big bad
is there anything else they could've even done
genuinely wondering
and no
I'm not just trying to hate
Well, yes. Quite easily, they had options. But we haven't had real content with the Nine for many years.
the vex are still a big threat right? i think only the sol divisive was devoted to the witness
