i wouldnt be surprised if clovis bray kept the cure for cancer
Right. That's why I said diseases in destiny might already have cures or treatments that are plentiful. Unlike nowadays where the most life threatening stuff is still being researched and only some survive them
Braytech probably saw the exo as the cure
THE FLESH IS WEAK
im pretty sure cancer is eradicated in a way for humans
since the 300 thing predates the exo project
Pretty much the iron hands treatment yes.
hahahaha
Clovis saw being exo as the step to immortality
also note that ghost did not state we arent harmed by tetanus
we cant get it
we cant be bearers of it
However he was a sadistic murderer trying to achieve it so that he could become the equivalent of a god
do you think its the light doing the work? or our immune systems doing the work(enhanced with the light or not)
given that this extends beyond guardians, probably not
It probably has something to do with the light but many times we have seen ghosts come out, flash a couple lasers of light and we're back to normal
again, 300 years, you dont get to that age without extreme medical progression beyond effective treatment.
man, imagine the things u could do with a most virus resilient body
you can work with less medical problems
and well you wont worry much on finance on medical stuffs
This also isn't just virus protection. Like how do you make a human heart go for 300 years? Or any organs for that matter.
ah wait a min
maybe something that slows down DNA deterioration
if humans are resilient thanks to the innovation i bet the prices in that d2 universe is expensive
where your body degrades much slower when you get to like 25-30 ish
That's what I thought as well. Something slowing down aging even
slowing down dna deterioration slows down aging, makes organs last longer, your immune system is kept in check longer, etc
Making a 60yr old look and act like our equivalent of a 25yr old
come to think of it, nobody in the destiny universe needs glasses afaik
so eyesight is probably universally perfect
i am trying to remember some npc models if they have glasses
ye i dont think i did notice any of them using glasses
we are already able to change our eyesight today
in the modern age with modern technology
mhm
Biotic enhancement might also be on the table. Body parts like eyes that can behave and look just like the real thing. Ear implants for hearing that are much more sophisticated
absolutely not unfeasible they perfected it in the golden age, and made it stick
because remember, the golden age is over
but these things still linger
that made me think, what if the golden age just found a really really great way to alter DNA to make eyesight perfect and all that stuff, which is why it lingers on
Our golden age is still definitely around. And lots of it can still be used even. We built a whole city out of the wreckage of it. And we now even have neomuna that's apparently always been in that golden age until the shadow legion came
"until the fire nation attacked" sorry had to put it in there
yeah but its not around in a great enough degree that we could replicate everything the golden age did to improve our health if everything form the golden age relied on machinery and treatment to fix the problem when it is occuring
like fixing eyesight after it becomes worse, curing a disease after you get it
it'd add more up if they found a way to prevent it ever becoming an issue
no treatment needed for the flu, because you dont get sick from the flu, ever
eye doctor not needed, because your eyes are permanently perfect
and i assume in the golden age digitized stuffs are more prevalent and hard copies or books are few, since we could have probably left some history behind
yeah, in the golden age they developed the engram technology
which is information storage
which can even host physical material
some of the shit we find in engrams can not fit in it if the engram is just a box
would have been great if the golden age people left some medicinal practices recorded but information easily distributed is probably a feasible option more than the slow and resource heavy like printing i assume
Unfortunately whether we like or not diseases will always exist and when we cure one thing, another takes its place no matter how much we find cures. The body is susceptible to itself even. Sure the golden age allowed us to live to 300 years but I don't believe people who were that old didn't experience issues. Like I'd still expect someone who was 300 years old to still show signs of age.
welp, we found whether we like it or not for our golden age
yes you do eventually die of old age, but you can still die of old age in spite of full virus and bacterial immunity
hell, dying of old age tends to not be virus and bacteria iirc?
let me check that real quick.
Yeah, the 3 most common ways to die of old age are all things caused by the natural deterioration of the body, viruses or such plays no part
yeah
while the diseases probably exist, they're probably redundant and wont even make a dent in humans
also its possible for disease to exist without it harming us
Hey I'm just saying I don't think disease was completely wiped out. I'm sure people still got sick and all sorts of stuff. The death from those diseases might have been miniumal but they still existed.
diseases can mutate too
and there are means that could outpace evolution in disease
if all life has been blessed by the traveler i assume PROBABLY the organisms that carry said bacterias
take the humble fever
its such a commonly used immune system response across animals for such a ungodly lengthy period of time
so why has no bacteria or virus evolved for it?
simple, they have! they do all the time in fact
but when you evolve to handle a hotter body, and you infect something else, its too cold
and you die
a immune system that punishes anything that evolves to counter it, if the golden age found something that could work like that, no virus or bacteria would ever be a concern for humans
true, i can see that
Anyone have ideas where the new dungeon might be? My guess is that it's a giant factory/furnace for the fallen and scorn. We might see a new kind of scorn who could be a successor to the machinist or something fikrul may be building. It reminds me a lot of that giant ball we saw in WOTW at the very start when you chase vosik off during that raid.
Vesper = evening song = music
Music + vex aesthetic suggests to me it's a Choral Vex/Nessian Schism Dungeon
I've seen that theory with the vesper name. Then what's the "host" part of it.
Also i know it looks vex but with the fallen style cables attached to it i think it might be more scorn or fallen who have stolen something from the vex
But on the other hand I can see the fallen or scorn creating a giant hunk of metal with a fire pit.
Honestly it might even be something that was tucked away in the reef since that whole region is nothing but rocks, cables and debris. It's just missing that purple glow of the reef

bullets in d2 has to be easily mass produced given how often bullets get thrown around like candy in crucible alone
And the ammo that all the enemies in the game burn through
I mean cabal and some specific fallen guns are basically the only ones actually using ammo
Dreg 1: "oh no..."
Dreg 2: "Let me guess, the Guardian got a new Exotic weapon?"
Dreg 1: "Yep."
Dreg 2: "And it's going to kill us with some otherworldly power?"
Dreg 1: "Most likely."
Dreg 2: "Bring it on."
And even then fallen have âshrapnel launchersâ meaning theyâre literally just shooting garbage
Totally not an Emperors new groove reference
emperors new opulence
That works too
No one can tell me that omolon weapons don't shoot liquid at the velocity of bullets.
That's what omolon weapons are
The falling guillotine in question
With the Hive fighting against the Taken and the Dread in the Pale Heart, surely SavathĂ»n (me) knew that sheâd never win against the Witness? Why invoke that battle in the first place?
Distraction
?
She was preparing her own invasion after the witness was dealt with
She was very transparent about how it was going
She agreed to help in excision because it was literally that or the whole universe dies
After that? She didnât owe us a thing
She did also imply that her "interference" was also helping us
In her own twisted way
No not really
That was just the narrative she was spinning in Lost
She was always working toward her own ends
Reminder:
Savathuns Plan A was foiled by us killing Quria in Splicer (she wanted it captured)
The implications are she was trying to install a puppet government in the City so that she would have the Guardians under her indirect control
Finally I'm free
I've been muted for two days
And I was geeking out over how awesome Season of the Witch was and unable to express that today
Eris Morn is just the most badass character in this series... She needs more screentime. I need a break from Crow for real
But watch Crow be relevant in Revenant anyway
well yeah, if it's about Fikrul, then Crow is bound to be relevant to it
Eris will probably show up again in Heresy though
Hope so
Considering the armour is themed around her, and there was that lore tab last season I believe teasing it as well
Itâs a safe bet
Wait we have previews of armor from future episodes?
yeah there's that
Someone link me
Ohh perfect. The hunter one looks exactly like her because she was a hunter
Revenant armor looks sick too
I'm gonna wear that shit and never take it off đ
Heresy also has armor that makes us look like old-fashioned navy officers
pulling up to the newly revived Oryx looking like Napoleon
ridley just carried giger's vision into cinema
is it confirmed oryx is coming back or is this just memery
Dreadnaught is returning and the episode will have a lot to do with Hive gods
also Oryx's body itself isn't dead
it's just that the mind that once was in that body is gone
honestly i don't know like... how the enemy factions are gonna be doled out post-witness
not confirmed, but it really seems like a possibility
bungie retiring the dread seems like wasted assets
and the taken
doesn't the ability to Take come from worm gods, actually?
I doubt Bungie would have put the effort they did into the Dread if they didnât think theyâd reuse them
No
Oryx slew one of the Worm Gods in order to gain power through the Sword Logic enough to commune with âthe Deepâ (likely the Witness) and inscribed how to Take on the Tablets of Ruin from this communion
ohh.
well that would kinda leave the taken without a leader then
so i wonder how that's gonna work out
can xivu take right now? i guess we just have no idea
That one battleground in echoes tells us she doesnât have power over them
She also doesnât have the ability to take naturally
She just loaned them from the witness and used an old piece of oryxâs sword
hmmmmmm
The fact they apparently made a conlang for them too
Unless that was in fact built majorly off of Eliksni as Sarsion has theorised it may be
so we have:
vex sub-faction - conductor
original vex - vex hivemind
scorn - fikrul
xivu's hive - xivu
lucent brood - savathun
house salvation - no leader
dread - no leader
shadow legion - no leader
taken - no leader (oryx 2????)
Eramis fucked off from Salvation I believe
Eramis isnât leading anything
Yeah
yeah i knew eramis left the pale heart
i just was under the impression she brought some salvation with her
but i guessss not
She wasnât there to begin with
oh lol
She made plans to leave at least back in Wish
She hasnât been seen since defiance
fail on my part then
edited
is it confirmed that there are living disciples we haven't met?
Actually, didnât the post-Excision cutscene show Eramis talking to Fikrul?
did it???
No clue
No
They were two separate hologram things
It was spider and Variks talking about the two being mia basically
There is an unknown Disciple in Root of Nightmareâs lore book but
Unknown if theyâre alive
Definitely Harold
long dead
pretty sure it says so at the start of the entry
so it sounds to me like we're at a point where bungie can asspull anything and everything for these leaderless factions
I mean weâve been in a swap between general criminals and salvation whenever fallen show up
i say asspull lovingly because i know that's just how writing works for this genre
and we know they won't just stop using these enemies
it would be a huge waste of time and money spent developing them and i'm sure some people aren't tired of them
though some NEW TAKEN would be nice. christ
I guess this isnât really clear
i feel like there's been like maybe one change to taken? adding some stasis weapons to a few of them? since the game came out.
That was back in BL
Also itâs worth noting that pale heart taken are visually distinct from standard ones
yes, eye color
but even the palette swapped cabal got at least a new mechanic
i would very much appreciate a bit more fleshed-out scorn and taken refresh in the next two episodes
Congrats on trial mod!!!
holy đ
does yirix belong on this list?
besides the witness who is the strongest enemy we fought against? i mean if we powerscale the raid bosses/campaign bosses
lets just probably do top 5
Witness then probz his disciples
Rulk was the most powerful one
isnt it he only got rhulk and nezzy?
And calus
Zavalla could beat them sll i think or most becose hes wise as yoda from star wars
Is he?
Hes leader of anything

Hes leader from tower and vanguard
Witness, rhulk, nezarec, oryx and then calus.
Even guardian boss
Well, yes, that's what it means to be the Vanguard Commander.
Witness was final boss supposee to be but its isnt true becouse endless wars
He's not the boss in the traditional sense. He just runs operations. He's a leader sure but as he said to caityl the guardians don't kneel to him or anything
Constructor is next but even that ended whats next it feels like the end of destiny 2
He's the one who directs guardians to where they need to go but I don't think he'd order guardians to do anything they didn't feel safe doing and has forbid guardians going certain places many times (not that some guardians have listened though)
Conductor.
Yes
Yes. That is the end of the light and dark saga. The episodes currently are an epilogue to that and we won't see a hint of the next saga until revenant according to bungie
What if zavala beat the taking king
Oryxs body is now at the bottom of titans oceans
Actually, the corpse was sequestered by the Hidden.
Not really its spirit still lives
No, it doesn't.
So it did get moved?
There are cells still active within the corpse, but it is still a corpse, and Oryx's spirit is dead.
Yes.
Ok
Spirit even if she has defeated the withqueen still lives as spirit ghost
Huh?
What?
Ghost seal still alive
You're not making much sense with these sentences
Oryx doesn't have a Ghost. He's just dead.
Ok
Oryx is dead dead
Soul still lives on and a soul of all
Even cade is killed but on traverler hes back as
Soul as live returned
Oryx wouldn't want to return even if he could. Besides that, he was killed within a Throne World. It was a True Death.
Cayde is only back because of a wish crow made
Hes not named crow real name
Yes he is
Crow is his real name.
They called him becouze hes returned
That's still his name
Uldren died. Crow was resurrected. That's how being a Guardian works.
We have had literal years of storytelling explaining this.
He is considered separate from Uldren Sov.
You mean sinse 2017
Uldren died, came back as a guardian and was given the new name crow
Since forsaken pretty much if we really want the start of it
Beyond light we met uldren, now crow
And since then his character has developed
You forgot all red war
Because that's not related to uldren at all
Uh, neither Crow nor Uldren were related to that.
Red war, curse of Osiris and warmind save for 1 very little piece of dialogue isn't related to uldren
And trials of orziris and 2nd expasion
Curse of Osiris
Still irrelevant to Uldren/Crow
Okay you're talking in circles and yet not making sense
Somehow
It's really hard to understand what you're exactly trying to say
So
Bungie has several roadmaps that show Destiny is not on the final chapter
Bungie will keep Destiny going until it is no longer profitable or the company goes under or something
Ive heared that we wont get new campaigns becouse m oney they are out they losing alot i know that ive seen on youtube
No actually they are releasing more campaigns
Twice a year expansions
Probably shadowkeep sized but hopefully bigger than that
I have heared many negativity about that rushing releases
Well we donât really know until it happens
Final shape was delayed so it definitely wasnât rushed
Even story was gooxd but new players friendly it isnt not they just losing
Idk what that is supposed to mean
Ok sorry i cant explain
We are. As I said it's the end of the saga. But another one will start soon.
Whats your favorite saga
There's only one
The beginning you guys forget
That's also part of it
No. It's all been the one saga.
Oh i thought different storyes
Stories are different
Mine was forsaken whats yours all
The start of destiny 1 all the way up to where we are now has been called the light and darkness saga. @grave mist
Iâm pretty sure the witness didnât exist conceptually until some point in Destiny 2 but the whole overarching plot of D1 was part of this fight against The Darkness
Ok beta earlyer
Maybe not but the idea of an ancient enemy for the traveler was always a part of destiny. We just didn't have a face for that enemy only that it was what caused the collapse and that the hive worshipped it.
No
Destiny came out in 2014. But I believe was revealed in 2013.
You must be talking about Halo
It exist 10 years now
Yes
Yes
It's 2024. 10 years makes 2014.
So glad we have orange names to give us info like this
But there was a leak before they kepd hidden
!lettinggo was not a leak. It was fanmade.
That logo was exidently
I know one of the people who made lettinggo.
Whatâs lettinggo
Is marathon same as destiny makers
Marathon is the same company, Bungie
Becouse ive heared myth about it
Bungie, yes.
The original Marathons had a similar playstyle, I suppose.
This is hilarious
@rich wyvern this video has been theorised to apparently be something bungie used as inspiration for Rasputin and was apparently going to be an actual story for him. The evidence though is unbelievably minimal
It's a quote and some morse code.
Marathon infinity ive tryed to play i coundt make it true level 1
@slim girder it was legend leak
I think the similarities are coincidental. Sci fi, sci-fi fantasy, thereâs some tropes that just come up often.
!lettinggo is fanmade. I know one of the fans who made it.
It had the destiny tricorn sure but I don't really know the full story behind its creation
Sinse 2011 is leaked alpha build of destiny 1
No that wasn't leaked
Look media im not joking
You shouldn't say that these things that were available to look at were leaks. We have footage from bungie themselves during destinys development showing gameplay builds
Companies can show development footage itâs not a leak
A leak means someone illegally stole and released material without the consent of the developers
A leak is called a leak if someone from outside of a company posts something that a company hasn't posted themselves
And usually without permission
Or inside the company but they werenât supposed to
That to
Or "insiders" which for some reason every company under the moon apparently has.
God I hate when people bring up that they apparently have an insider
Insider is either an employee or an employeeâs friend
And like. People have friends. And people like to show things theyâve been working on. Itâs normal human experience. The shitty part is when those friends run to social media with what you showed them
Right
But I don't think an employee even likes being called an insider because at least to me if someone called me that then that means I'm apparently not trustworthy inside a company
I'm the inside person giving all the secrets out
You are the guy who leaks
i donât understand the xenophage lore and what the quest had to do with the exotic either
and the boss
Within the Xenophage lies Omar Agah, from Eris Morn's original Fireteam that delved into the Hellmouth.
Take a look inside next time you reload it
He a bug now
But his hatred of the hive is there and through xenophage we give him that vengeance that he wants.
he is the orange thing in the weapon?
A beetle calcified in what I'm assuming is an amber of sort.
Why do you have this mael
because i possess a minor ability to use google images
this is cool as fuck
Ah
Eris Morn be like: "Only I alone crawled out from that pit" when only 3 of them actually died.
To be fair Toland didn't crawl and Omar kinda got... amber... bug... ified.
Sing the lifesong and shoot him in the legs, now we'll see if he can crawl out of the Dark Below
Silksong
I hope they bring back forsaken one day completed edition
Like the campaign?
Yes
It was just okay. As long as they donât get rid of the dreaming city Iâm good.
There are 2 campaigns renember
If they vaulted dreaming city Iâd riot.. đ
The corrupted is gone?
No.
Forsaken only has one campaign
isnt toland just a white ball now?
Hollowed Lair and Broodhold are
Yes. A wisp, able to travel between the Ascendant and material plane. An immortal, boundless scholar.
The dreaming city was 2nd campaign
It wasn't a campaign, it was post-campaign content. Just quite a lot of it.
That was post campaign content told over different activities. Not an actual campaign
It was 3 missions long
We know what it was. We experienced it.
Nope, the Dreaming City storyline is way more than that
Itâs the raid, the strike, those three missions and the dungeon telling the Dreaming City storyline
Multiple missions across multiple weeks, various secrets based on the curse week, so on so forth
Forsaken campaign was good story
I donât even remember these at all
For me the tangled shore was just totally eclipsed by the city
So theoretically speaking, Oryx is in the Pale Heart somewhere
Or at least a statue of him
Since from what gathered, it makes thought, memory and history manifest, but itâs an accumulation of them. Not just one person
I noticed on the way to the Pale Heart through the Veil, there were some blocks from Oryxâs throne room scattered around lol
Tree of Probabilities really gits you hard
Can you believe it
Revenant better bring back some good Tangled Shore tracks
He probably will given the TFS final cutscene
It showed Spider (who Bungie confirmed), Variks, Eramis, and Fikrul (also confirmed)
And chances are Eido and Mithrax will be involved
Yes thatâs why I mentioned him
Crow will also have relevance probably
Are we just assuming Fikrul gets the next echo? Bungie isnât gonna do some crazy twist like give it to Mithrax?
We already see him have it on his staff
It's shaped like a Spear head
Like the Conductor made her Echo take the shape of a mantle
I wonder what damage type it would do if he shoots us with it
Itâs not just one guy
Itâs several people who were jointly responsible for Destinyâs music. And several people who are now gone. I believe only one in-house composer remains
Echoes seem kinetic - traveler light seems to be that, like microcosm
it had nothing to do except when it had season of plunder which was amazing
literally just good strikes and a good season and then it had nothing else
Fikrul made 5 weapons for his knights that represent them. We know one was buried bloodline, what was the other 4?
What leads you to believe there was 5 exactly?
Rathil was the leader and the only one given Bloodline as an actual gift
ok
All five of them were just given staves like Fikrul beforehand
ohhh
Which is why they all function as reskinned fikrulâs
i get it now
technically Plunder was not in Tangled Shore
it was in the Asteroid Belt though
I think most of the Plunder stuff took place in the Themis cluster
let's see
Itâs jarring to realize that like all of the awoken shit takes place in the asteroid belt
Pirate Hideouts:
The Brute - 64974 Savaria (Themis Cluster asteroid)
The Sharpshooter - 1633 Chimay (Themis Cluster asteroid)
The Blademasters - 8964 Corax (Themis Cluster Asteroid)
The Beast Tamer - 90 Antiope (Themis Cluster Double Asteroid)
The Bully - 14072 Volterra (Themis Cluster Asteroid)
Parley with Eramis - Asteroid, Themis Cluster
The Coward - 43193 Secinaro (Themis Cluster Asteroid)
The Scrapworker - 8319 Antiphanes (Themis Cluster Asteroid)
The Lucent Brood - 16246 Cantor (Themis Cluster Asteroid)
never really says where Ketchcrash is, but it's safe to assume that it is Themis cluster as well
the Themis cluster is in the outer region of the belt
and all of these are based off of real asteroids in the belt
not only that, but the Dreaming City is based on a real asteroid in the belt as well
4 Vesta, which in the Destiny universe was reshaped into a giant disc by Riven and Techeun magic
Yeah thatâs why DC stuff is Vestian, right?
Right but thereâs also Vestian Dynasty
And I swear some other ones
Vestian Hawk
basically anything Vestian means it's from DC
How many disciples did witness have? (I have found the byf short about winterbite and the other disciple)
Four at least
I like the unspoken development of the witness slowly realizing that disciples are just basically a bad idea and ending it with Calus being one in essentially title only
Had to get the achievement atleast
How do you spell Oryxâs old name?
Aurash for Oryx's original name, Auryx after he took the King Morph.
Speaking of the old hive
What happened to Fundament?
Does it still exist or was the planet destroyed?
Life upon it was wiped out and the Hive abandoned it. It should still exist, but there isn't likely to be much there.
Phobos 2
Just a war ravaged wasteland probably
Might still have plant life or something though
It did have vast oceans
Titan fu of hive vallen etc
Huh
im sorry?
Gas ocean planet moment
We're talking about Fundament, not Titan.
Ok
Are vallen the new enemy type that come from Fikrul making everyone vampires
âI vant to steal your traveler, blehh â
Maybe finally taking scorn culture off the back burner back from forsaken
Is the incoming new dungeon similar to smth from destiny 1? I feel like I remember it looks similar to something, but idk
Lore wise? no, not as far as we know
Yeah, lore wise
It seemed similar to the dark garden or whatever the name was
Nah
D1 stuff is kinda irrelevant
Wdym
Most storylines from it have already dried up
The dreadnought is one of the few things (if not only thing) I can think of that can be reprised with new purpose and that's already coming in episode 3
definitely don't recognize it, but I have some ideas
for starters, it does look Vex-like
and it might be in the Tangled Shore (or some other part of the Asteroid Belt)
and it does remind me of something mentioned in a lore book
Drifter once told Shin Malphur that he went to something called the "solar engine of dead star 6"
though the chances of this thing being that aren't very high
Vesper's Host definitely looks Vex
It's unmistakably Vex in design
Will it be a vex dungeon? well
House Dusk has been used recently in story and Vesper means evening
however vesper also refers to an evening song or prayer taking place in a religious context
which reminds one of the new vex and their musical motif
but then again, vesper and dusk are way too similar to ignore
so maybe vex structure that hosts house dusk
the name also reminds me of Holborn's Host which were a group of Guardians who ran high-profile Vanguard operations on Mars
honestly when i was looking at it i went "oh shit it's volantis" but volantis is blue, and it would probably be a raid and not a dungeon
interesting
though it probably isn't related to them
could be related to another Guardian group though who was similar to Holborn's
no, but it reminds me that host can mean something more figurative than what i was thinking
still, if it's a house dusk dungeon within a vex structure or that uses a vex portal to access, let it be known that i called it
is this supposed to be riven on there?
looks like it
though it could be a random Ahamkara
it is certainly an Ahamkara at least
the white enamel and styling kinda clash with my idea of the weapon (DMT), but ahamkara-themed stuff is always pretty sick
definitely one of the cooler destiny concepts
season of the wish kinda put them to rest, but i hope that's not the end
lmao
hopefully they take after Taranis
kinda miss when destiny was weirder
some parts of lightfall and final shape were very.. avengers
Lets be real. Bungie won't do anything with them lmao
not yet
Nah. They'll appear in a single lore tab and be done
Actually
Knowing bungie they'll appear in a lore section in the new grimoire
You know what else was a plot point
Breaking the DC curse
Realistically I dont see them appearing unless its a lore tab
In game I cant see happening
in Wish, they stated that at this point the curse can't be broken
The what?
so now the goal is to try and get everyone trapped in the curse out of there
the plot point wasn't dropped, it was merely changed
in fact, I can see the curse plot and Ahamkara plot being tied together
Itâs not exactly a light and dark thing so itâs reasonable
use the Whims born from Riven's clutch to free the Awoken soldiers still trapped in Dreamtown
perfect plot for a season
You think taox will be in heresy
maybe even bring up the fact that the Cabal Empire are planning on getting rid of the Ahamkara once and for all
eh, we don't even know if she is still alive at thsi point
makes for some nice conflict in the story
Itâs still very open ended and the whole hive pantheon thing would be the only place to tie it up
honestly it depends on how long the game lives for.
i doubt it will get touched for another year. maybe 2.
i believe you but do you have a source? i've been thinking about this
Mara laments the state of the Dreaming City and its curse, laying the blame for it at Riven's feet.
The scrolls we recovered from Savathûn's Spire confirmed her greatest fear: the curse is unbreakable. Once granted, an Ahamkara's wish cannot be undone.
Mara dislikes Riven's bargain, but knows we have no other option. She tells us to cooperate wi...
ty
Like Shattered Throne, canât Pit of Heresy canonically be done over and over since the special Hive Wizards can just revive Zulmak
pretty sure it is canonically replayable
yeah I kinda remember reading it from one of the Altars of Sorrow weapons
@dim minnow what music do you think Clovis listens to
Classical probably
Or just a 5 hour recording of his own voice
Classic Rock Nightcore
I think Clovis is secretly a big country guy
he might not even listen to music at all
he showed little interest in Ana teaching Rasputin anything of Human culture
maybe he believes himself to be above it
That could also just be because to him Rasputin was something different
Clovis probably thought why would my warmachine need to know what music is
That's exactly what he thought. Clovis did want to make himself the new "Rasputin" afterall so the original was just a test for him. Learning music or human culture poses nothing of value because with power he wanted he would be the one to make a culture of his own.
Thats why I said if Clovis listened to music then its probably just a 5 hour rant about his worldviews that he always plays back to himself
I don't think he would even see the value in music tbh even if he made it. "Unnecessary" he'd probably call it. Way too up himself to care about something that brings joy to people.
Its not actually music its just a podcast of him yapping
Prolly
I do wonder what actually made Clovis the way he is. Obviously the darkness had influence but surely as like a kid maybe there was a traumatic event or something.
Maybe he was just born rich
Look around, that can be enough to make someone grow up to be a dick
Could be. I like to think it's similar to maya where unfortunately they both just couldn't leave something alone and let their curiosity run rampant. In Clovis case it was the exo and then it just went downhill from there through countless inhumane experiments.
Pretty sure Clovis was already an insufferable prick beforehand
He was already a horrible person beforehand
Plus exomind creation doesnât just magically make you a misogynist
He definitely talks to his 2 daughters in a way that at least to me makes it sound like he would have wanted sons instead.
Clovis is alright once you get to not know him at all
If you got to know him then I guarantee it was because you were probably in pieces being experimented on.
Itâs actually the opposite
Itâs a defined preference for having granddaughters because theyâre âeasier to controlâ
He shoved his only grandson Alton to some general colony management job away from Europa
Do we have anything on what happened to Alton?
Just died probably
He wouldnât even have some spinfoil connection to siva like Willa did
He probably just died like Ana did actually
So nothing sinister as per usual with Clovis?
Rotting skeleton left somewhere
The only family member to die as a direct result of Clovisâ actions was Clovis II
And thatâs just because of genetic tampering before he was born
Idk I guess I was just expecting some kind of manipulation or something with Alton.
I need to go through Clovis lore again. I haven't read it in a long time
Right
His âwhyâ is that he was terrified of death and obsessed with legacy to the point where he ignored normal relationships with his family and only thought about legacy and avoiding death. Constantly. Non stop
Thatâs why he was an awful grandfather, thatâs why his last project was exos
As far as his son, I mean, that was more him playing god and being an egomaniac.
But it is still linked to the idea of legacy. Children are the first legacy. He just felt that they werenât enough
When I awoke, I thought I must have had a near-death vision. So I checked my nerve logs. Every last spark in my brain is recordedâand nothing in that cerebral panic can account for my dream. The mind is the brain. It is impossible to have a vision without correlated neural activityâyet I did!
Mysterious logbook is kinda peak dark-sci-fi writing
Not for this passage, but I just realized that Clovis had a post-death âdreamâ caused by the defector statue
Of course he said this, it wasnât a new detail revealed by final shape
But I mentally skipped over it because I was focusing too much on alkahest, Maya Sundaresh, Vex stuff etc
Logbook is PACKED with stuff
As far as I'm aware, the dreams were from the Traveler instead
The third and final one we see definitely was
What
lore
what the hell is lore
Drifters shoulder pads
That's fur
But of what
Bear?
My assumption too but I imagine there aren't many bears about
they do still exist though
coconut
lord shaxx has coconut too
Wonder if those new figures we saw are humans or another race
They look like much more regal kind of civilisation
Robes and banners
Very serene and peaceful
Same logo as the one on those "pods" in the first screenshots for Apollo
Jovians?
Aren't those usually native to Jupiter though? Unless there's something in Destiny lore I'm missing
Also that "device" above the room has to be a colony ships thruster or the thruster to any kind of ship.
Jovians are beyond the Asteroid Belt
where they are isn't really known though
I just looked up jovian and the first result said they were native to Jupiter. Humanoid in look but thicker and stockier due to gravity of the planet
That's an F-1 engine from the Saturn V
It depends looks like they set up something underneath the ship like maybe an altar of sorts. Maybe this is a civilisation that worships machines a bit like the eliksni.
What if it's more like a cargo cult?
All this stuff washes ashore and they worship it as gifts and artifacts from their gods
we have never seen Jovians ingame other than Xur
I don't know where this info comes from
"Xûr is⊠I believe he's called a Jovian. They're from out beyond even the Reef. I'm afraid I don't know much else about them."
What was the result
Thatâs not how Destiny uses the term
So you see how thatâs not anything related to the Destiny universe
Nah hear me out
Strange coins are actually the secret scooby doo live action arcade coins from 2010
So its when Developers try and be cutesy and add "Subtle Storytelling"
Like Big Dorks
Okay if a Guardian were Chestbursted, would the Xenomorph have Access to the Light
Not unless a little Xenomorph Ghost popped out alongside it.
that's not even a Destiny wiki man
I'm pretty sure that page isn't even referring to a Jovian race in particular
more it's talking about the trope or use of a species native to Jupiter in general
while Jovian does tend to be used to refer to Jupiter, the term is also used to refer to the planets in Sol that extend beyond the Asteroid Belt
Okay what if a Ghost revived a Xenomorph
no way in hell that would happen
Whyzat
I can't even imagine it as a rhetorical situation
because Xenomorphs are awful creatures
You could... engineer a background
and xenomorphs are more animal-like
Theyre still incredibly smart
not in the same realm as humans and such
they have their own language
they are smart purely in a predatory stance
What about a Xenomorph Queen?
Oh God, A Yaut'Ja with a Ghost...
Fucking christ thatd be so cool
They are intellegent
thats clear
they have their own Rituals, Civillisations
They're Hunters for a cause
they live for a hunt
Xenomorph Queen is
ehh
đ„Č
Thoughts on taniks returning as a scorn?
hilarious if he will
but we have his head
Ravagers don't have heads so I'm sure he'd be fine without it
Hmmm....
Are Eliksni eyes clear?
Like. The eyes themselves. They're very blue, but so is the blood they have due to their Ether.
I honestly don't think there's an answer to that question.
Soo is anything/anyone leading the taken now?
Xivu and savathun maybe have some level of control. But as of now no. The taken are leaderless.
Cool. Developing a raid concept that I want to make sense lore-wise.
In Avalon? Radiolarian Fluid storage. Plus references to old Vex cinematics and the Pyramidian.
You know in CoO we saw the process of vex just starting to convert mercury which included giant cylinders of radiolaria injecting themselves into the planet
These are the "seeds" that the vex will implant when coming to a new planet.
All that radiolaria can be the equivalent to trillions of vex possibly..
Is there a reason why there are no taken scorn? Are they immune to it or something?
Scorn arenât like guardians in the sense of being healthy and living
They are literally ether pumped bodies that have horrible growths and cysts all over
At best some of their internal organs are being forced into operation again but theyâre definitely not living
Have there been guardians that have been taken unwillingly?
Only deputy commander Sloane, and her ghostâs connection to the light staved off the corruption
You canât really be taken âwillinglyâ
I was alluding to Kings fall when you fight Oryx at that one part
Or does that not count?
Thereâs a difference between the power to take and actually being taken
Oryx physically just took himself to run away
He did not become a Taken in any capacity
So if Sloane is taken to some extent does that give her a power boost in any kind of way?
Nope
She just constantly had Xivu prying into her head a lot
Although she was also able to act as a sort of avatar for a proto worm god, so there was that
and eventually Xivu tried to kill Zavala via Sloane iirc
Yeah but she thugged it out
Is this from the ramen Eliksni who got lynched
The sparrow?
Itâs the splicer sparrow so
Ye
i am shocked every time i remember that they lynch eliksni
Canât remember whether they died or not
Sooo could taken dread theoretically exist?
Also, wouldnât taken vex look exactly the same except for the radiolaria looking taken? Since, thatâs the living part?
I guess but that would actually be a detriment to the cause
Dread are genetically designed to be perfect soldiers, theyâre already made for specific purposes
Yeah. Taken are more just âtake control of as much cannon fodder as possibleâ
Taken are just a bunch of otherwise mindless drones the witness caught under its control to act as trash mobs
Cool
They donât actually do anything
Being taken already affects your armor and weapons
Vex chassis are essentially full body prosthetics for the radiolaria
You can, as evidenced by the techeuns and riven
Itâs just like, yknow
Are you going to bother with doing that against hostiles youâd be shooting anyway
That sparrow is for Niik, an Eliksni who took up Amanda's role after her death
I hope we meet niik as a character. I think they've been seen before working on that sparrow but they don't speak.
Maybe they will bring her in with a shipwright rework
Bungie could save destiny 2 with a ship battle mode
And ships could actually have use
Ketchcrash was like this but only really in setting
Jumpships generally aren't armed.
They'd need a massive mechanical and visual overhaul for every... single... jumpship.
a mode that's a mix between Ketchcrash and Gambit would be a neat idea
like each team has their ketch and must take down the other
players can either do objectives on their own ketch to deal damage to the other, or can go and attack the crew directly
Been watching some old cutscenes and I noticed that in the final shape intro where one of the astronauts is going through the elements, they're doing a bunch of different hand motions so it made me wonder if there's an "art" to wielding light or dark. Like you see them make a clenched hand for arc but then for stasis they make a fist.
Solar the hand is outstretched with the flames sitting on their hand, strand is flowing all over their arm and void it seems to just hover above their hand.
i would say there is
a level of control yes
and as guardians we have mastered that long ago
Incinerator snap might be a good example. Snapping your fingers by creating friction of some kind which generates heat and as a guardian this can translate into solar light
I like to think for guardians it's something that comes naturally. Like a mental imprint that they instinctly know.
Not really
Many Guardians are still learning how to wield the Light
Most Guardians are still mastering just one subclass
Anybody know what that city is near the cosmodrome? I first saw it during the caydeâs stash mission during d1 and when they added the cosmodrome during d2 it was still there
there definitely is
the cutscenes of us learning strand have a lot of flowing and pulling motions
and stasis is very focused on like brute strength and bulky motions
City?
case in point the fist and us forcefully breaking out of the freeze when we channel stasis in beyond light
I meant more as in learning to wield the light in the ways we usually see. Like they instinctly know they can use it but through mastery can turn it into the subclasses we know.
Iâll get a picture
I did notice that with strand and stasis. Again it seems to have certain hand motions tied to it almost. Obviously this would be different per class though.
warlock stasis is very like
evocative?
and magicky
hunter and titan stasis are definitely more aggressive and calculatingly brutal
I like how Stasis abilities have that kinda magic circle style imprint on the ground during use
Oh itâs even on her hand here
My personal favourite example was when eris had crystals growing around her when she met drifter on europa. Almost like the circles you see in a zen garden
The Cosmodrome is inspired by the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan so potentially itâs some city near that area? If there is one
If not, itâs some random city invented in the Golden Age. Off the top of my head I couldnât say itâs even been relevant so
I Guess its Tyuratam

Speaking of cities i wish bungie kept the idea for old Chicago
We're talking several hundred years ahead of modern times
It could be a new city bot here today
Yeah, we have no definitive answer for you Iâm afraid
Could be a improved upon place that used to be a small village now
Could he a known, named place even today
Be*
Iâm just gonna assume itâs a golden age city considering that the closest city to Baikonur (Tyuratam) is a small city with a railway station
Itâs a nice little detail to the art design of destiny though
I was in the mission in d1 to get caydeâs Stealth drive from Rasputinâs bunker war-4 and a scannable suggests that in the bunker they were trying to âco-op fallen technologyâ does that mean that the seraphim bunker was still active after the collapse (like people still working inside the bunker) and was abandoned or did I misinterpret what cayde said because I donât think we were aware of the fallen during the golden age
You sure itâs not the other way around?
Fallen and hive breaking into Rasputin bunkers was a regular occurrence in D1
It seems like every race in destiny has broken into one of rasputinâs bunkers at this point
But nah from what it sounded like Cayde was talking about weapons testing on fallen technology and another scannable also suggests there were other people involved in waking up Rasputin although that could have been Ana bray
Like there were people who doing research inside the bunker
Another thing I want to add to this is the visions back in vanilla D2 about different guardians using those respective elements. Like how ikora teaches how to call the storm through breathing techniques.
How can alien races like Cabal and Fallen understand human language?
Magic space translator tech edition
they learn it
translators are not currently used in lore, only at the very beginning
Caiatl took specific effort to learn our own language, she's referenced sun tzu multiple times
variks takes advantage of being fallen to intentionally speak a broken version to appear weaker
plus, if there was some kind of automatric translation tech that worked for comms, there'd be no reason for Variks to be running point in the house of wolves campaign to relay their orders and speeches
Do you think theres a lore reason why we have a pyramid vessel or did niiks refashion part of the pyramid scale into a ship like she did with the sparrow
Pyramid ships vary in size
true
Would guardians even be able to pilot them
I remember hearing that pyramid vessels wanted a new owner from somewhere
do we know why the vex experience time all at once or do they just do that
could be tied to their origin
the Black Garden does grow both into the past, and into the future
the fuck are these?
weird exo-vex growth
Maya must have been into some freaky stuff before the collapse.
Her version of "flowers" since she was trying to replicate the golden age
that kinda makes sense.
I had a friend tell me that cayde and crow made out when they were alone in the traveler. Did that actually happen?
...
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and suggest your friend meant made up. As in, Cayde forgave him on account of him not being Uldren.
i agree with mael on this one
Yes
Honestly considering it was a special delivery kiosk thing for final shape pre order, i do not believe bungie wanted us to analyse it so closely.
But what if
They definitely made out

Assume that if someone says something romantic happened in Destiny, it did not happen unless everyone keeps pointing fingers at a specific loretab, and even then you have to read the loretab yourself to ensure that they aren't just making shit up (ahem Mark of the Great Hunt)
Bungie isn't explicit about whether something is intended to be romantic from what I've seen

It is now my birthday, and because it is my birthday I ask a birthday lore question
Do guardians celebrate anything of the sorts?
Because the closest thing Iâm aware of is dares of eternity
nothing on this
They might not celebrate birthdays but they do still celebrate stuff like with the dawning and festival of the lost.
Yeah they probably don't celebrate that kind of thing as they are immortal.
Their ghost would remember it most likely. Our ghost gets all lovey dovey when talking about when they first found us so I think a first res is special for a ghost
Is that seraph helmet?
Wrong channel?
Also why the 110 recovery
nope it's the Scatterhorn because why not
Ohhhhh
Oh ya this is the wrong channel sorry mate
No worries haha
Was the âitâs on Enceladusâ retconned to be Europa
No.
It was never referring to the Deep Stone Crypt.
You just got Byf'd.
I like to think he was just stupid
bif

Aw man, I must have missed a banger
Fortnite was better
Iirc that was literally it lmao
Fortnite is automatically brought down a grade for having Destiny content
That ruins everything
real
so.. what's the deal with liminality? there being like, dozens of ahamkara bones in the traveler?
It's a bit of a mysterious one, but like everything within the Traveler, it is a creation of memories. They aren't literal bones, per se.
like, obviously just spitballing here, but since the pale heart seems to be made up of "memories" IE the various locations important to it and us (dreaming city, Io, cosmodrome, etc) is the presence of the ahamkara meant to be representative of the great hunt? or a manifestation of crow's use of a wish to get inside/bring back cayde?
Ikora and Zavala both were around for the Great Hunt, but it may also be a memory of the Witness. The memories generally seem more literal than a representation of Riven's Wish
what happened to like sports and entertainment and music and the such in the destiny universe because i donât see or hear about any of that in the tower or farm
there's probably music, i mean the tfs trailer showed an eliksni playing a string instrument
The farm had football
waiting for someone to say it was soccer
If you call it soccer when youâre in a place that doesnât then youâre a clown
Anyway regular TV still exists, crucible broadcasting is just an additional thing, itâs not their only source of entertainment
The city isnât just a bunch of refugees huddling in tents, itâs a fully functioning society
do they have like
eliksni drama shows
Those people immediatley died when the Traveller arrived
Maya Sundaresh is Lakshmi right? if Maya entered the vex network and split into a million pieces, then how come lakshmi exists?
Not exactly
Lakshmi is kinda funky
Do we know what happened or do we not have any info?
We do. Her origin is touched on in the Veil Containment logs
You can find a playlist of that dialogue on the Destiny Lore Vault YouTube channel
Does that explain lakshmi's existence?
Yes.
Aight, i'll check it out.
Is a facsimile its archetype? No
There was a Quebecois Lightbearer in Achilles Weaves a Cocoon and there were survivors north of NYC in the Lenape Valley so a decent chunk of Americans prolly survived
At the time of the Collapse, globalization was in full swing
Last Days On Kraken Mare, in particular, shows a shitton of different cultures mixing
and something about Chicago idk
I was reading through lore chat because I was bored and saw this
Theyâre so gay
I wonder how exo anatomy works
i believe that exos are identical to humans anatomy wise, or at least on the outside (makes them hit DER less, according to clovis?)
They also have internal elements and functions that emulate the human body, ie lungs to breathe, the urge to eat/sleep, etc
whenver i see cayde my gaydar goes off... takes one to know one
yerp.... i got that built-in to my hardware...
This is actually real
Yeah but do they have gonads
nah
not functioning ones at least
i think its implied exos have "parts" idk where tho
Exos are given the "need to reproduce" according to Braytech
Which, in turn, implies a way to act upon that need.

Question, what happened to Eramis after beyond light? I know she's currently off sol trying to find her wife, but what happened to her between being frozen and leaving Sol
Season of plunder sheâs released from her stasis prison by the Witness who wants her to collect a series of artifacts, which is thwarted by us working with house light and drifter
Imagine if you could set a certain theme as music when you are in orbit.
Afterwards is season of the seraph where Eramis takes a backseat in leu of Xivu Arath, with a good amount of Eramisâ house being raised as scorn as punishment
I'd instantly choose deep stone lullaby
She tries using Rasputinâs weapons against the traveler, which fails, and becomes further disillusioned with the witness
After that is a brief appearance in Defiance where she helps save Mithraxâs life before just disappearing completely
i see
R.I.P. Rasputin ;-;
thanks alot, from a quick search i could only find the lore tab for nostos but between that and beyond light it was rlly hard to find info abt
Just with that one moment. Copletely deleted everything.
Everything she worked so hard for.
wait was it ever mentioned that Eramis's wife is dead or did that get retcon
i see
She was on Riis when Eramis left. We don't know if Athrys is still alive or died as a result of the whirlwind's lasting effects on Riis, but Eramis seemed hopeful in her survival when she set out to return to her home planet, wanting to spend the last of her days with her mate
Thatâs not true
Riis was like over a millennia ago
What Beyond Lightâs lore establishes is that Eramis sent her partner away to another star before setting her empire in motion
just checked some lore stuff and Athrys is very much alive
Oh lol I had misread that part lmao thought it was just some others
Why is it called Athrysâ embrace when Eramis hasnât felt the touch of her in years
i can be specific, cause i just had such a big lore read, the Eliksni are so interesting to me
In the third entry of "Achilles Weaves a Cocoon" book
there was this exchange
"She knows what she risks. Why else would she have sent her mate and children to another star?"
"Athrys is gone?" Woeful news; she was Eramis's guiding glint. "You always have a way out. I want a part of itâ"
