how did the eliksni build all their skiffs and stuff when their society went to ruins after the traveler fled?
Itās not like they were immediately brought into a Stone Age
They still had their technology and people who were used to designing/creating/using it
How much lore is there before d1
like what do you mean as in lore
as in written stuff describing events that take place before the first game chronologically
Yes
How many years pre d1 was the golden age
WTF THERES LORE BEHIND WHY WE HAVE PVP IN THIS GAME
exact number is not known
definitely many centuries
we also got lore from things that happened up to many billions of years ago
like the origin of the Hive and the origin of the Witness
Like the witness being made
yup
crucible is canon
and the other pvp modes of course
you would be amazed at the other stuff they made canon as well
Eager-Edge skating
weapon perks
random rolls
Tuesdays
guardians jumping off the tower for fun
the purple ball is canon
question: who's helmet is near the bottom of the "False Idols" Sword? I can't make it out, but I think it's either a Titan or Hunter helmet
Tuesdays? in this universe?
They've got me intrigued with who the conductor is, I also really like the lore behind what the "echoes" are, the final cries of civilizations formed into shape as functional artifacts of light capable of exacting those demands, fucks hard
Every world changing event happens on a tuesday
For some reason
plot twist: our universe is the only universe that doesn't have wacky stuff happen every tuesday
they've put in quite a bit of clues already
can't wait for the official reveal of her identity though
Ah havent caught onto those yet
Absolutely she has an amazing design for a destiny antagonist
They always show out with the visuals
the clues are indicating that the Conductor could be ||Maya Sundaresh||
why does that ||name sound so familiar?||
Maya Sundaresh was one of the 227, a renowned Ishtar Collective scientist, and one of the founders of Neomuna.
speaking of the echo they call it the echo of command in this week's story, could it be that the other ones have different powers?
Xivu could be the one who joinks a echo in EP 3
That's what's being assumed so far ye
she's been popping up quite a lot in recent lore
she was among the founders of neomuna
she's the one in the tapes from the epochal mission
iirc one of her clones became lakshmi
fun fact she was also kinda sorta name dropped in spire of nothing where it said the last person to access the file you want to get to was MSUND12 hunders or thousands of years ago
so she has quite a lot of links with the vex in general
Inverted spire, btw, you're mixing up inverted spire and warden of nothing
lmao I thought that sounded weird
look in the uh strike thang with the bigass psion dude ykno
nessus thingamabob
Inverted spire
Only just realized I forgot to grab the newest lore book for this week, oopsie
Damn good one too, seems to imply there might in fact be a copy of Osiris and even Sagira somewhere buried in the Vex collective? Also name-dropping Praedyth
Wondering if the Osiris thing wasn't one of those Reflections or Echoes that he lost contact with a long time ago
God could you imagine
We could bring back every guardian ever in history from the vex collective (seeing as Saint was there and maybe sagira)
How so
I think I read something wrong,
When you say buried, are they alive or dead
Do we have a copy of that sundial thing from dawn somewhere?
Even if we did what'd that bring us
Its not like you can just type "Sagira" into it and boom
it was exclusive to Saint
What about her?
who the hell is maya
Mayalasia
Hello in which channel I can send a message for people who wants to do clan quest ?
Clan lore
Honestly is there a clan in lore?
hawthorne talks about it all the time
You just never give up do you
Took down ghaul
Nice view, if you like concrete
Most of Salvation's Edge takes place inside the Witness...
Not really
#thefinalshape #destiny2 #shorts
it is the entire thing..
Ngl Ana bray has to be the luckiest person in destiny
Ur telling me she came back a guardian, had a warmind that does her bidding, and has full access to her past
Then thereās crow
Also she has natural affinity for darkness WHICH SHE REJECTS CUS SHES COOL
cool people donāt use darkness
I mean most of those things are the opposite of true
She didnāt come back as a gaurdian?
Ana had to scramble to even know what Rasputin was even thinking half the time, he did what he wanted to
She also didnāt have full access to her past at all, Elsie routinely kept redacting or removing information from where Ana was looking
Also WDYM opposite of true
all she really had was an id card with her name and general knowledge of what Braytech was
false
So what was right and what was wrong
Itās more clear no?
I mean more or less alive but when you're a vex simulation like the Ishtar researches or have been assimilated that'd sort of call whether you are alive or dead at all into question
Can ghosts have throne worlds? If so can crushed ghosts get reborn
Do yall think crota had the potential to get stronger than oryx?
Unless he specifically took his throne, no
Oryx always had a leg up on everyone due to being the only active leader and maker of taken
No and no
If every guardian competed in a 1v1 bracket whoās in the finals and whoās coming out on top
are you asking who is the strongest guardian?
the hidden did make a list of guardians of high calibur
if i remember correctly
ikora is top 5
though this includes living and dea
Hive Lightbearers arenāt Guardians
Drifter isnāt a Guardian
Hawthorne is a Guardian
Honorarily
Between our guardian , ikora , shaxx , saint , drifter and Saladin
Ikora and saint are both currently the most powerful titan and warlock respectively
Idk much about the hunters out there rn
Ik ana is on some lvl with her gg
Where is cayde (imagine he's not dead)
Wait so Zavala is less powerful than saint?
Saints title is "the greatest titan that ever lived"
Not that powerful
Fair point tbh
Heās plenty skilled and experienced ofc
Eris uhh the banner in your profile, the one before final shape (the one you have rn) looks better (ik it's off topic, only one suggestion š)
I donāt remember what I had before tbh
Zavala is currently not a competitor since targe died
Honestly
but he has stasis
But he has one life
And we don't know if stasis is as powerful rn
Ikora saint and shaxx have all honed their light over centuries
Zavala only recently learnt to control stasis
wont matter if his target is frozen
all he has to do is punch!
Ikora knows how to use stasis 2 anyway
Osiris should learn strand
Stasis logic during launch
āStasis user when the enemy can shoot backā
Then I shall shut up
Can someone explain the current saint to me
Is he a saint from a different timeline or is he a simulation
I think the original saint died, there was time meddling to prevent his death. So probably another variant
Skim read the wiki and jumped to the conclusion
Timeline
Itās also mentioned in the ingame timeline
Osiris created sun dial to get back to a moment matching the saint that died and we saved that saint
And heās just now having an existential crisis
I'm hoping there's a implication of the conductor getting inside saint head
Maybe he turns against us for abit and we gotta save him
Didnāt we just stop that from happening in act one?
Is the sundial destroyed?
It was decommissioned
its core was removed essentially making it inert
Wasnāt it also powered by darkness or something
I think its core was some sort of whispering thing
we never really got much of an explanation on the Sundial's mechanisms
we just know that Drifter was pretty wary of it
I polled an lgbt community I'm in and out of the 37 Destiny players polled, 60% of them are lore nerds
Conclusion: ???
Old man robot yaoi is very engaging
Oh my
SO TRUE OMG
LITERALLY SO TRUE
I LIVE FOR IT
Im surprised the percentage wasnt higher
Rookie question but whatās the deal with Saint 14
Is he not from our timeline or something
Hopefully this works and the quality isn't too bad
I'm in my car about to drive home
Hi mael
howdy
How goes the mission

so is the pale heart the literal heart of the traveller?
oh
Essentially. For as much as that means to a construct manifestation of Light. It is the core of the Traveler.
ooooh
I asked this question a while ago but got no answer. Did we ever find out exactly what the poison from the weapons of sorrow actually is? "The devourer" is on thorn and necrotic grips so maybe that is an actual being we haven't met or maybe it's just another title for dredgen yor.
But I'm curious as to if this "poison" is from the hive or somewhere else.
Could I just say scarlet rot and call it a day?
it could be the damaging area that they do sometimes but put into weapons of sorrow
you know the one the wizards do sometimes
Yea itās some kind of rot
oh
Anyone else concerned about Variks holding a bottle of Worm gods?
Thatās what you think until Variks hits you with the splash potion of Worm Gods
Variks casts EIR IN A BOTTLE
I always assumed it was just a form of hive magic
I did as well like a hive soulfire of some kind but in the Necrotic grips lore tab the poison is described like how a snake venom works almost. It causes the victims heartbeat to turn against them.
It's also acidic so it can rot away flesh and is so powerful that in dredgen yors case can drain light from a guardian.
It wouldn't be the worst comparison ngl.
This poison is just mountain dew flavoured instead of raspberry fanta.
The corruption also made one of the city researchers say "i am reborn" as they were being corrupted.
Carro was his name.
Hive magic can also drain light.
But im going to look into necro grips real quick
So yeah. In the lore tab, its described that dregen yor already mass produces this as well as the other weapons of sorrow. And it describes not using traditional hive magic so its likely knock off or a different kind of hive magic
And the arms specifically buffs weapons of sorrow which is what thorn is so yeah, definitely a weird hive magic.
Iirc shadows of yor produced weapons of sorrow, not actually dredgen yor
Dredgen didn't even entirely produce his own weapon or sorrow
Yeah your right. Apologies.
My guess is that it's an experiment from the hive weapon master that we killed in the last word quest.
But it's still not that it doesn't behave like traditional hive tech which is the closest analogue which makes me wonder if it's an experiment like I said before or is it truly something different that just has some similarities.
Also it says the cultists (shadows of yor) can produce knockoffs. But those obviously aren't made the same way the original thorn was.
He was tricked into making it by adding the finishing touches
The shadows of yor kinda stopped making guns though
They've been in deep shit for a while
Well original thorn was super duper powerful. But it seems like the copys of thorn are made similarly to necro grips if i had to guess.
Yea og thorn permakilled Guardians
By just killing the Guardian
The ghosts would live and couldn't rez the Guardian
It drained light and dredgen yor even killed regular people to feed his thorn.
Replica thorns donāt have those properties
Necrotic grips are made of dead human skin extracted from a victim of the original thorn
Necronomicon poser
Probably pretty chewy by now
I need OG thorn so i can kill all prismatic hunters
I wonder if it's more like leather now
Yeah uh
About that
The "artefact" that killed that researcher was never confirmed to be the original thorn. In fact way before that lore tab even came out. We turned the original thorn into lumina.
The creator of necrotic grip is the creator of osteo as well, and she went down a very not healthy path after studying the original thorn extensively
Sequential order doesnāt mean chronological
Yeah she got obsessed with ostro
It was the original thorn
It ain't thorn no more mate
Oh yeah, its lumina:(
Yea
Thereās a very extensive timegap between when Shin killed Yor and thorn just magically being left for us to find in an ash pile as a gift
He donated it to a research team while he was in his āwe should dabble in darkness a littleā days
Thorn really fell off when it became lumina, since the healing auto does the same thingš
After the research went to shit he decided heād keep better hold of it until he found someone he could actually trust (us)
How do we know this though? Maybe it was the original sure but it says that it's "yors little creation" which means it was directly made by him. The original thorn kinda made itself almost.
At the end of the day, Yor made thorn
He put cursed hive bones onto his own gun
Itās not like anyone else made him do it
Nobody else made him go on a killing spree either
Not that anyone could anyway. Hes yor.
True I'm just saying what if he made something else. Like the researchers are talking about discharges. Osteo striga absolutely has "discharges" through its poisonous bursts.
Itās a confirmed fact that thorn replicas donāt have any of the actual devouring capabilities
All they do is very basic acidic stuff
Cant, phone photoshop sucks
OG Thorn one shotted people. And osteo cant, its even a slow death
And I answered no.
They do though just more for the one holding the gun. Proto thorns are a "test" afterall. And if you fall to temptation then the man with the golden gun will hunt you down. It's a similar reasoning as to why we currently use darkness as a tool. We weren't going win with light alone.
They werenāt really a test
Dredgens actually wanted to be little thorn fanboys and made replicas which just flooded guardian inventories
Shin really didnāt care about those
People pretending to dabble in darkness werenāt on his radar
Its people corrupted by it right?
What he was actually interested in was finding a balance with the real thing which is why he would give it to a research team in the first place
No
Thorn replicas literally donāt do anything the original did
Drifter even called them cringe
They basically just have battery acid in their rounds that does basic corrosive damage
Thereās no hive magic soulfire stuff
Theyāre replicas
Not the genuine article
We "sever" the link when creating our thorn. So that it loses the devouring capability sort of.
Oh i meant he tracked down people corrupted by darkness. I thought thats what he did anyway.
When we find the charred remains of the original thorn during the lumina questline, our guardian becomes physically sick just holding it
He did. This is why I said that these proto thorns were a sort of test. Shin malphur under another name that I've forgotten would form a group called the shadows of yor to keep watch over guardians who would seek power in the darkness. But if they went too far and lost themselves, then shin would appear to hunt them down.
I wonder why they named it that
H-349 is strange
Unless I'm missing some hidden detail.
Theyāre a research team first and foremost
They werenāt giving it special treatment
Even Ikoraās hidden just give every āvipā a number
H probably stood for Hive and the numbers are probably among a list of hive artifacts. This one is just one of the notable ones we get to hear about.
Idk. Just referencing other media usually special subjects or specimens of interest are given unique names.
Feels weird that here we have what's probably the original thorn and yet it's just given a letter and some numbers.
Itās not like that was their first time forming
Well its not og thorn. And like someone else said, even ikora doesnt give us a special name among the vips.
They were a research team who probably studied countless other things in the past
Whyād you say ālike someone else saidā
My message is literally still on screen
Im on phone. I couldnt see it. And im too lazy to scroll up

How do we know yor gave them the artefact? From what I can tell everything related to yor is stuff shin malphur has gathered after he killed him. Shin has even said that even though him and the vanguard don't get along very well they still allow what shin does. Maybe he's the one that gave the researchers the artefact.
I never said yor did
Iāve been saying Shin gave it to them
Finding a balance was his entire mo
Oh wait sry. I misunderstood the message. My b.
And this was through watching other guardians who sought power through darkness right? And then killing those who went too far?
Because to my knowledge he made the shadows of yor to accomplish this.
Essentially
He made the yor fanclub to weed out those who wouldnāt be cut out for it to begin with
He said malfeasance was a sample to test guardians who would seek more since gambit was allowing us to use darkness.
Why where cabal trying to assassinate zavla?
Is fynch just irrelevant now?
Because heās the Vanguard Commander and destabilising your enemyās leadership and taking out a powerful Guardian is a good idea
Hi eris
Iirc they signed a blood pact
Itās kind of heresy to assassinate him now
If I remember correctly tho
The psions tried to kill Zavala cus they had Iāll feelings towards their coalition
You know
Considering they were enslaved and basically had no chances to be seen as equals
Although caital did free them
The damage was already dones
A small group of psions orchestrated this however
Iām not so sure about this
Itās not like Caiatl being Empress stops those conspirators defecting and doing stuff
Because they continue doing stuff in Season of the Risen
Eris can I reply rq
What I mean is like
Actually nah itās too long
U right
Iām tired
Wait, is eris gonna be the new lore mod? No more Alex, no more venetian
No one can rival mael
other than me
Iām still here, I just watch.

I donāt think Maelās rushing to apply lmao
Is the veil conscious
Like the traveller
Or is the veil like
The travellers clothes
The ritual SMG this season seems to suggest so
In the Prophecy dungeon, did the Nine design the guns we get from it?
probably
Who and what are the Nine?
Sentient space dust!
ā
I am.
I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I.
At first this is all the loop of dust can calculate. It is the hardest thing in the universe for the dust to make a loop at all, because, like a gust of wind or a river, it was only meant to move one way. For a mind to function, the end of one thought must alter the beginning of the ne...
clouds of nigh omnipotent space dust bound to the gravitational loops begrated by each planet in Sol and to the life that exists within them
the Dust lore book (particularly the last two pages) does a reall good job at explaining them
Oh
Was the light lady from concept art an inspiration for the witness?
the whay
One of the concepts for destiny had the traveler be represented by a woman of light.
Show it to me
I don't believe so. The witness has had many concepts and who really knows exactly when they were actually thought of it.
@ember storm https://youtu.be/5DVryD3Xhwc?feature=shared
This "Expedition Animatic" Conceptualization by Ilya V. Abulkhanov is likely part of the Original Story of Destiny before a lot got changed after the firing of Lead Writer Joe Staten. The mysterious female entity that the cosmonauts encountered on Mars was wiped from the story. She bears similarities to the Awoken or the Emissary or the Nine. Al...
Yeah I donāt really see it
Is Saint-14 now from another timeline or the original?
Still waiting on the story for that answer.
oh ok
The one from the most recent echos quests?
The answer is āmaybeā
Definitively, his existence is rooted in time fuckery and paradoxes
Oh yeah I'll get to that after some breakfast
does anyone know if fail safe fully transfered onto the helm or is she just radio-ing in on the helm
like has she fully left nessus
Itās a hologram no?
Sheās still on Nessus, sheās just got a FaceTime
ah,thanks, i hope in fronteirs she fully comes onto the helm and becomes our new co pilot or something like that
I doubt it. Shes probably always going to be a vender at nessus. Which makes sense because of the new light quests associated with her.
wait shes a vendor on nessus
as in you can get bounties from her?
Yes.
No she doesnt sell anything useful, just stuff engrams and stuff.
Bounties? Maybe, i forget.
oh what i never knew that
was amanda considered a vendor?
Before she died. Yes
ok so like big changes like that arent completely out of the question then tho
She sold sparrows and ships. Which rahool took her stuff to grow more powerful
But as a vender, she disappeared at the start of the season. So her death was kinda forshadowed in that time. Hence why Failsafe happening this act is unlikely
ok
maybe shell just rc-car the helm
Picture this
Twist the act
She is fully uploaded to the HELM and remote connects to the Exodus Black instead
Wouldnt that mean TWO failsafes?
I know saint is not from our timeline but by his logic wouldnt that mean we arent real? Cause the dark timeline is the actual OG timeline.
Itās not
No, since that ain't how the cookie crumbles
The Dark Future lorebook tells the events of one of many timelines Elsie has experienced
And not even the first one, either
I don't believe that was specified, no
Quick question, was it lore or dialogue where Calus supposedly referred to Vex combat units or whatever?

The same static green and blue ships/sparrows that were there since vanilla. No her main purpose was being the vendor for prime rewards
I dont think she sold prime rewards. I feel like more people would remember her if she did.
OH twitch prime
Mb
i have returned
for another question
are Ghosts a thing in Destiny
like a ghost of a dead person
who roams the earth
Not really, no.
I mean there's the headless ones
We don't know exactly what they are.
Glint... isn't helping.
However, depending on how you view a Ghost, it is worth noting that some semblence of self does persist after death. It is how Ghosts rebuild is from a corpse, how the Ahamkara remain somewhat aware after death.
But you don't see ghosts like Old Man Jimbo haunting Huckleford House down the lane
That's just what the praxic order wants you to think
wait for Festival of the Lost
Sadly I may not be able to play then
Think we're getting new dialogue? Like micah or something?
Dialogue? Probably not. Lore in the form of a silly story? Probably.
Last year we got some immaru dialogue, tbh I just want micah to be relevant outside of the pale heart
Nightmares would be the closest thing to ghosts probably.
True! Though not literal, they manifest similarly to a stereotypical ghost.
Formed purely of memory and feeling, however.
More specifically, usually trauma.
Exactly. They are a vengeful spirit in a way. But aren't the actual person coming back from the dead.
Interestingly, confirmed not to be purely from the Luna Pyramid.
The Europan one manifested some too.
Micah did talk about how the nightmares could be an untapped power of the darkness since darkness is all about memory and consciousness.
As for the pyramids they are very much more alive than a conventional ship. They don't have a pilot but respond to whoever may be inhabiting them or in the case of the witness it imposes it's will over it.
so what happens if a guardian
yknow
Rides St. George
Does The Deed Of Darkness
Takes Grandma To Applebees
what happens if a guardian has a child is what im saying
are they born a lightbearer?
Nothing is known about if that's even possible. Zavala is at least to my knowledge the only known case of guardian being a parent of sort.
But if I had to guess I'd probably say no. The light is paracausal, not genetic.
Extremely unlikely
Also it's presumed Guardians are sterile anyway
do the ghosts give you a Lightectomy?
We don't know, it's presumed Guardians are sterile and only that
why is that the case
It's that they "can't" have children
Is it because of duty? Sterile? Something else? We don't know
And this was referred to Saladin explicitly
Guardians are immortal so I'd want to assume almost none of them want to deal with the idea of their loved ones dying while they remain. Again Zavala would be the exception.
wheres it said they "cant"
A lore tab with Saladin and his ghost
I don't recall which
maybe Saladin just had Bum Nards
It could just be because Saladin wouldn't really be able to raise a child
We just don't know
This raises another question
Not a single case of a biological child of a guardian has ever been revealed
It is purely speculation. There is no answer to this currently
Yes.
Not severing the light no
Our ghost was rejected by a guardian before they found us in fact
They can just go seperate ways yes
They weren't revived
Wdym?
Wdym x2
It's also a Easter egg, intentionally not elaborated upon
Halo Easter egg, that master chief was a dead guy in a pod that rejected ghost
I am on phone, my abilities to gather sources beyond "trust me bro" are limited
Yes
I call mine Doppio cuz hes Pink
If you want it to
It's intentionally made a blank slate for you to fill.
We project ourselves to our guardian.
You decide your Guardians past, name, personality, and your ghosts name
My only gripe with that is like the lack of ability to nametag anything
Like naming my ship
this is the channel i didn't expect to see jojo's in
ask me
I asked if Guardians Bypass WoUs calamity
due to being Paracausal
could a Guardian split Love Trains Dimensional Barrier?
Honestly a guardian could brute force WoU
most likely
With abusage of Raid mechanics
Guardian just won't die
The ghost doesn't need to be approaching WoU
Just rez the Guardian
Meaning the Ghost is safe
Guardians are still stopped by the world right
They are
Okay interesting
Well, probably at least.
Wouldnt really matter
Since Guardians can make suns
Like, on the fly
So Dio would be hard countered by a solar guardian
Solar grenade, the one that looks like a sun, literally replicates a sun
its Exclusivley Ultraviolet Rays which hurt Vampires
Actually, that depends.
Vampires originally were not lethally Vulnerable to sunlight
in nosferatu yeah
It was a fan addition
but JoJo Vampires are UV rays
Guardians evidently don't have gravitational control
Well
Void involves the ability to Effectively just make a gravitational pull
Without applying mass
how
what ability is it ingame
It sidesteps the need for mass
Probably vortex, pocket singularity, nova bomb, a few
The Logic is this
If Time Is Stopped, They Can't Do Anything
They can't even pull off the moves to try and move
Well yes and no
Ghosts can avoid dios threat entirely
Dios time stops in the final stretch of Part 3 were getting longer
By not physically being there
True, but they can demanifest and reappear after Dio kills the Guardian
the entire fight shows this as an example
How would he draw out the ghost then?
theoretically how would you do that
If he's not fighting an idiot, he wouldnt
Dont you call my robot bbygrl an idiot
The ghost would hide away out of view, transmat the body, rez
In debate of that, Dio has enhanced senses
i dunno if dio could beat a full power guardian
like he could hear a heartbeat from over 10m away
Ghosts can transmat far enough away for that
ghost could jus wait till sunlight to res
What about Jotaro
The transmat range of a ghost, especially on earth, is pretty damn far
air
*fair
Dio is at a disadvantage here because Guardians are bullshit
How would the Infinite Rotation effect a guardian??
Experienced Ones like ours? Wiped the floor with Dio
I assume it'd spread to the ghost correct
Possibly.
Unknown, hard to say
Does it go beyond death?
Johnny and The Star Horse
If it kills the Guardian
Yeah
When Valentine transferred his stand to an Alternate Him, it still afflicted the Alternate Version
It likely won't affect the ghost, the Guardian is boned though
Granted Guardians have a habit of sidestepping this
"guardians make their own fate"
Fated for infinite death? Fuck you, no thanks.
We do this, a lot.
Especially with the vex
Vex is about prediction, and technically thus fate
theyre so dumb
Word for word when dps for atheon begins it says guardians make their own fate
the radiolaria doesn't turn us becase we, the guardian, arent good enough???
Oh ghosts can just reset us to a state prior to verification
Vexification
If a ghost is affected though...
Asher's ghost got dipped in it
His arm became vex
ohh
I'd elaborate more but I gtg
how did asher get vexed anyway
Fell into radiolaria
I also presume Guardians aren't Immune to Requiem correct?
Effected his arm and he was slowly turning into a vex.
But then when the black fleet came he gave himself to the network so that he could study the pyramids. Now though I think he is officially dead and has been deleted from the network.
GER is a causality modifier, paracausality can sidestep causality
It directly counters GER
?
wdym Causality modifier
Its abilities extend to reverting anything straight to zero
im not sure abt Causality
GER negates the effect of something, reverting it to zero, by negative cause
it prevents the effect from ever happening
Shooting a gun is the cause and hitting something with the bullet is the effect
GER reverts the shooting
Meaning you never hit
Problem is that Guardians skip straight to the effect sometimes
how
Paracausality.
Sidestepping the typical cause needed for a effect
It's bullshit, and that's why it works
I'm Not, because you're not giving me bullshit
You're giving Genuinely interested questions that change to new information
Like a sensible person
eh, still feels like BS on my end
Can someone explain clarity
It's a manifestation of Darkness. Clarity Control is one of the Witness's Dissenter Statues, under its command.
Are cats extinct in the destiny 2 universe
They are not
Possibly endangered but we've seen several cats around the tower
Letās go
And in widow's court pvp map
It specifically reduces something down into a simpler state. For instance, Vex Milk is reduced to reductive patterns
What about dogs?
Not counting archi since they are a robot.
there was a Guardian who had a pet dog named Luna
the dog was killed by Hive on the Moon though
you can even find her grave there
Still a dawg
as far as other dogs go, I'm not sure
but if there are still quite a few cats, then there are likely some dogs as well
Saladin does have a bunch of wolves up in Felwinter Peak
Yeah i knew about luna. I just didnt know if it was the last or not.
Oh yeahhhh the wolfs.
The floofs
yes
there was a guardian who got rezzed in the ocean but was constantly in a loop of drowning because he couldnt swim, @trim grotto can tell you about it, its entertaining
Sounds fun im down
that was our good buddy Andal Brask, Cayde-6's bestest buddy and the Hunter Vanguard before our favourite robot man
So, Andal Brask's Ghost was one of Micah-10's flock.
To: Tallulah Fairwind
Category: 5-sat bounce
Priority: 3
Hello, old friend:
I have a knack for finding Hunters. Another of my little pack has found her partner, a Human male, and now the two of them are coming to you by watercraft over the Pacific. Keep an eye on this one, Tallu. He has taken the name Andal Brask, and I believe he will be trouble.```
Micah found him floating dead in the Pacific Ocean, and resurrected him there.
Anyway, Micah-10 sent him back to the Last City, where he met Tallulah Fairwind, the very first of the Hunter Vanguards.
"Ho, Andal Brask," she said with that big grin of hers. "Micah warned me about you."
I said, "Warned you? I was dead, then I floated here. All I've ever done in my entire life is barf into the Pacific Ocean."
Tallulah slapped my shoulder so hard I actually died right there. My Ghost had to rez me.```
Andal you dumbass š
Think of it this way: Guardians are living beings. Brought back from the dead, fully alive.
Ghosts may help us out, cure us, even remove our need for some things should it come to it...
But otherwise, we're human. (Or Exo or Awoken.)
Starvation, certain illnesses, suffocation, drowning...
All can kill us.
i was always confused that "toxic air" type debuffs harm an exo guardian
like ok video game, my ROBOT dude is dying from poison air??
Depends how toxic. Our suits are already airtight, so presumably it's causing other effects.
its just for gameplay purposes, im sure
how exactly do exos talk? is there a lore reason why they can make "exhaling" or "inhaling" noises?
plus exos were made to be as close to human as they can be
part of their "humanisms"
in order to prevent the human mind from rejecting the entirely mechanical body, exo bodies are given human traits and needs
It's natural to a human
Exo need to feel human, so they feel the need to inhale and exhale
obvious but what mechanism allows them to talk
simple simple
like the need to eat, drink, reproduce, and sleep
i already know this stuff XD
clovis raided chuck e cheese for their robot band voice boxes
i dunno just a speaker system i'm not sure what you mean
it might be a bit too specific to answer, i just wonder exactly how do they speak
I mean, probably just some device that generates sound based on what the exo is thinking
like it takes signals from the brain or something
and translates it into their speech
probably, i guess im just curious about very niche things that cant be answered
maybe they have mechanical vocal cords
that work with other components in the body to produce a voice
exos ARE very mechanically complex... wouldn't be too far off
is oryx the only hive to have been born a different gender than its current gender? i know he was born female and took the king morph
as far as we know
his circumstances were pretty much unique to him since only he took the king morph
i remember people in youtube comments told me not to call oryx trans because they said that would make people mad, and yea i said it, and that indeed did make people mad
sure, i know this is not a technically correct way to assess this character, but its one way of many to interpret it.
some people consider the proper terminology to be "Protogynous hermaphrodite"
a term used to refer to an animal in nature that is born female but change to male at some point in their lifespan
people likely prefer to use the term for Oryx due to his alien biology or perhaps the nature of his change
depends how you consider it really
I know quite a few trans folks who are perfectly happy (and usually the ones) to call Oryx trans
Perhaps technically incorrect but it's whatever really
i am a trans dude and i think its cool to call oryx trans, there really isn't any transmasc characters in any media really, and oryx is a pretty cool character and it makes sense enough to me to rationalize it. but i cant believe people get mad about this stuff XD
My old clan was about 80% trans folks as the clan leader made it a sort of safe haven group
lovely people
that experience plus others i know has shown me that, in my experience, absolutely no trans people i've seen have ever been mad about it, and usually heartily embrace it
i meant people who DONT like trans people get mad when people acknowledge that a fictional character is or might be trans
many such cases
oh yeah for sure
it's why half the destiny servers have just... kept the pride colours outside of pride month nowadays
it's easier to weed out the goblins that way
the goblins always lurk just to complain about it anyways
anyways enough about stupid drama. i like oryx. he's epic awesomesauce. very cool evil space alien god thing. cool beans or whatever, the taken king.

anyway no Oryx is the only known one to change gender
however on a similar topic, it's worth mentioning that Knights and Wizards are not inherently gendered morphs
fun fact for you lore channel lurkers out there
i own that dumb oryx plush he is a little bit hideous but it comes with the territory of being hive

yeah xivu arath is a knight, for instance
So what if a guardian were to be taken over by the Venom Symbiote
or be inflicted by the Stand Virus>
I don't know enough about either of these things to answer you. But the other half of what I was saying is probably brought into play here: Your Ghost still exists.
sloane was partially taken and her light prevented her from being completely taken over, that should be a good enough answer
Okay stand virus is a virus
Ik crazy
but it gives you a stand
its given by a stand arrow
yeah so none of that means anything to me
Hello
Well the virus attacks the soul, and its unknown if guardians possess one in the D2 universe
okay DAMN
If they do, they'd likely typically have a strong enough will to fight it off
Fight it off?
It's a common misconception that the stand virus gives a stand
?
Fighting it off gives a stand, due to the willpower your soul gains from fighting it off
It's just a virus that attacks your soul.
"certain people possessed a quality that enabled them to not only survive when exposed to the virus, but gain supernatural abilities from it"
Ye
I would say that in Destiny, souls exist as a form of consciousness, which is why Exo also classify.
In that way, it partially explains Ahamkara bones and Ghost resurrection.
In which case they'd probably develop a stand without the arrow
do they lose it
No stand, womp womp
Well
the Virus exssisted since the 50,000 years before modern times
so exposure is possible
Due to the fighting spirit a typical guardian would develop anyway
The virus is typically just the final "push" the soul needs
But Guardians fight off eldritch fucking horrors
They're exposed to stuff that would develop a stand anyway
Well, there's also just... Random factor, or fate ig
You need exposure to the virus
Theres a unexplained factor to gaining a stand that some people with enough fighting spirit just don't
Not everyone who got the virus developed a stand
We know this, in fact

Because johnny didn't get one through a arrow
Thats SBR
an entirely new coninuity
with new history
there was no Stand Virus in 7-9
The place thingamajing existed in the 1-6
They vaguely touched upon it in a something that stemmed from part 3
I don't recall the name
What
whatre you saying
I could me misremembering
Be*
Regardless, assuming a virus is 100% needed, there's 2 factors to consider.
Parts 1-6 You Gain A Stand Through An Arrow/Bloodline
Parts 7-9 You Gain Them Through The Devils Palm, A Holy Corpse Part or Bloodline
A Lot Of People passed through the devils palm even before the SBR
@trim grotto any questions
A: Jojo deals in more than just fighting spirit in terms of getting stands, something D2 explicitly breaks at every waking goddamn moment
B: a guardian develops a fighting spirit strong enough almost by default
absolutely not
(a being fate)
i have no desire to understand this
Good
Jojo lore is more stupid than paracausality
it really aint
It's not ment to be fully understood
Cause it's Jojo, ya don't read it for some deep plot but because it's cool goofy shit about punching ghosts and shit
we read for different reasons
Like 50% of Jojo is asspulls but it wouldn't be the same without the asspulls
Because the asspulls make for a cool story
I don't mean it in a negative way
I read Jojo expecting the asspulls
what Asspulls bruh
Wanting the asspulls
dont say sp stopping time bruh
Y'know it's weird saying that and not having a example in mind without causing seven arguments and a world war
Oh absolutely not that
They revealed time stop on jotaro before he even met dio
???
Just very very subtly
I don't think this conversation is getting anywhere anymore
when man
To get back to a relevant point due to about 2 rules
Guardians may develop a stand with the virus, most of them
Depending on the interpretation of the reader
And the writer
Ok, listen, can we pretend I didn't say that
I just wanna hear when thats all man
Because I've been steering away from a extended argument 3 times now.
And I am not interested in having one.
I just wanna hear when thats all
I do not care if I'm wrong
just say if its the darby fight š
Ok, we can have it at that, jesus
?
Im just wondering if its something else
thats all man
people usually say its that and if it was something else im curious
For aforementioned reasons I'm not having this. If we can't just settle it civil without a argument or severe derailment, I will just block you.
?
And give earlier conversation we can't have either with the continuation of the topic.
im not looking for an argument im just curious man
I'll take as the latter option.

Pull the trigger I beg you
bruh
Also wouldn't a last word fit better in that
I was just curious man I didn't wanna get into an argument
idk why you kept thinking I was
I might just edit one in when I get home
Is there any like, Disadvantage exos have from humans
Well, there's the resets wiping your episodic memory, your haunting flashes of the past, the fact that you don't have skin anymore, your ever-looming threat of sudden onset DER causing new resets or affecting your state of mind to the point of brain death, the damage to an Exomind that may come from excessive resets, the inability to heal from wounds requiring a skilled technician to fix a technology that nobody in the modern day truly understands anymore, the mild disassociation that comes from the way humanisms such as smell were implimented...
So
Yeah there's a couple of issues, @small quartz
Exostential
...
i wanna block you for that
Uh whatre the advantages?
do all Titans like, get a strength buff?
also how do you choose a class inuniverse
Immortality! Durability! In theory, should the DSC and Eternity and the cloud network have survived, constant backups of your Exomind would have been kept for recreation should your death occur. A new body to replace the weakness of flesh. Also in theory, improvements to the Exobodies over the years and perhaps even the Exominds, had the Vex-Exo War... the Vexo War, if you will, occured, and the Golden Age not ended.
Like, in game? No.
Yeah
so you cant tweak your strength or smth?
Classes didn't exist until roughly the City Age in the way we know them now. They're taught, learned. And Drifter, for example, still isn't any class even now.
However, there's an example I like to use for this scenario.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/into-the-fray
Read this entry, and tell me... what do you think their class will be?
ā
She wasn't ready, but I had no choice.
The Cabal mining rig was set to scorch the earth and then churn the soil to get at whatever they were after underneath.
Problem was⦠my Guardianāthe one I'd spent a very long time looking forāwas lying dormant in their path: a lifeless husk in need of a wake-up call before her remains were atomized and I ...
Well, Banshee's Exo frame is unique, and superior physically to other Exo models.
HELL YEAH
But that is Golden Age knowledge from Clovis Bray himself.
MY GOAT
The Last City doesn't know how to work on Exo in a particularly in-depth manner.
It's very complex tech.
Exactly
The class roles exist to fit people
Rather than choosing it, it is what you are
Not everyone is the same, of course. Nobody is an identical clone. But, the classes exist for a reason, and that reason is it's how Lightbearers tend to be.
thats cool
but I wonder what happens if a titan gets like
bored of titanning
and wants to Warlock
That said, you'd find a stereotypical Nightstalker to be quite different from a stereotypical Arcstrider.
To paraphrase Crow, you never see a Warlock with a Golden Gun. One could reasonably assume that their Light simply doesn't naturally form that way. One cannot become a Warlock just like that.
However, Light is generally malleable. The grenades, for example, used to be class locked. Tripmines were Gunslinger only, Healing Grenades relegated to Dawnblades.
Blink was something Arcstriders (or rather Bladedancers) learned from Warlocks.
Not exactly, but something along those lines.
What do you run
Yeehaw š«”
how does Golden Gun work
does it enhance your firearm
You may either enhance your existing weapon, as seen with Shin Malphur and the Last Word, a Hunter with a rifle during Twilight Gap, Ana Bray with 18 Kelvins.
Alternatively, you may simply summon a Golden Gun like we do in game.
?
Shin Malphur?
The Man With The Golden Gun. Legendary Hunter, slew Dredgen Yor.
ive heard of him
who is he
Which one?
Dredgen Yor
Dredgen Yor was once a Titan known as Rezyl Azzir. The short story is that Rezyl was... losing hope that humanity would ever find true peace. One day, upon battling Hive upon the moon, he adorned his Handcannon, Rose, with a Hive bone.
This bone was cursed, and it slowly corrupted both it and he, into Thorn and Dredgen Yor. He became a mass murderer of both the Lightbearers and Lightless alike, with a weapon so Dark it would kill a Lightbearer outright, even with their Ghost on standby. No return.
oh him
The first "dark guardian" i believe
... We what
If a guardians ghost dies then that guardian can't be brought back again.
No.
I mean
Can A Guardian Be Assigned A New Ghost
No.
No
From The Big Orb
No.
Wdym?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
A Lightbearer who cant Wield the light but can be revived
No such thing
I guess there's Cyrell and the Lightbearer from Whether Windmills or Cranes, but those are more mental states than anomalies.
The only "weird" thing that happens is the person who is resurrected is very confused but they are drawn to the traveler as said by Zavala.
in TFS they say the light can be wielded to make shapes right
Yes
The light is about creation
So it can shape itself into whatever it needs to be.
Light Hot Dog
Sure.
whats the fate of some countries in D2
That exists
like australia
You know the emotes you use in game?
Those are all literal Light constructs
I believe thereās flavour text with a quote from Asher chastising the frivolity of using Light for emotes
Not much is known about other countries. But if you want something directly related to Australia then look at the tarrabah exotic lore tab. It talks about a guardian who protects the indigenous Australian paintings.
does he protect the Bunnings?
ĀÆā \ā _ā (ā ćā )ā _ā /ā ĀÆ
I know what it is I'm Aussie as well lol
Youāve met Mael, no?
Mael?
Maelstronnar-3, Lore Gremlin
@trim grotto
Oh hes australian?
hello
Well asher is a nerd so I do not in the slightest care about his opinions
The North American Empire (YEP don't like the implications of that) fell immediately once the witness' invasion began.
It wasn't because of the collapse, they just did that on their own.
||none of this is canon except the existence of the NAE||
London got burned down
Russia got FUCKED as we can see in d1
I mean tbh the entire planet is in shambles
Germany wasn't hit as bad I believe
bridge missed the memo
Well looking at the EDZ yeah they kinda chilling
Its more overgrown
I like the implication that the fallen left the city alone aside from twilight gap purely because they hated the climate and the ecosystem
That would be really funny
so I have this question that's been rattling around in my head for a little bit and I'm just curious if there's anything that gives any more detail on this
architecture used for like inside the pyramids, namely the multicolor stones like the ones making up the relic on mars... is there an origin for that style? is it Lubraean? whatever race the witness was?
do they ever name the material that it's made out of either? not the black exterior but the multicolored interior stuff that almost looks like it's made out of glass or marble
Oh yea, think itās just witness tech, pyramid tech?
Think itās just pyramid tech
I mean byf refers to it as obsidian
As a descriptor of colour, no?
The Pyramid ships definitely arenāt made of actual obsidian
Ye
You chuck a solar nade and it turns into a giant nether portal
lol
why is oryx in gotd
Solar has no flint in it
Bros gonna say the line
Dreadnaught is around Saturn
Titan is a moon of Saturn
