Jesus
Nitro users
Then don't protest when we give you a definative answer you entitled toddler
Anyways Imma finish some stuff before the Sunday due date, unless Mael posts the Devrim-fingie sticker
this fucking guy
thats the, having conversation part
im having fun
youre the one tripping
Just, block eachother I guess? Iāll ask a lord question in here tomorrow or something
when we assume other peoples intentions, we often reveal our own
but whats with this
Pyramid ship going to a planet ?
Or Rasputin hologram of the sentence above
this
no point in shooting at them with our literal black hole gun since humanity got easily clapped when they tried
ana still tried
Usually
Rasputin tried using Warsats against a Pyramid in Arrivals, didn't work
sacrificed rasputin for no reason?
No that was for xivu
her voice actress is way too sick to just be in a season
its deserving of its own expansion
Donāt worry itās getting another season
Final shape is dropping a new season format called (episodes) and the third one is probably xivu
(Heresy)
as long as it looks cool, sounds cool and lets me do cool shit, i can fuck with it
i like me good writing, i dont care what it is
when its earned, i revel in it
A Hollow Man Leading Others to Die For a Silent God
fucking what
i wanted to hear it again
In Arrivals? It was kind of pointless, but it's what it represented. Rasputin had abandoned humanity to protect himself after he realised he couldn't win, in the Golden Age. This moment was him choosing to stick by our side, and be our stalwart ally.
Who would?
i wouldve liked if we got pocket infinity back
We got merciless as an alternative
like when your mom buys that movie you like but the bootleg version from the gas station
Hereafter is all i want tbh
the sound design, automatically made it my top 3 guns in all destiny
you know those moments playing, where you just, subconsciously smile
Ok
But have you played current destiny? After all the sunset and the age of triumph
No
Destiny 1
I see
Also this is not exactly the channel for this, please move to #āØdestiny-discussion
Ok
wait why
Thank you Nexus
this mofo aint a mod, i can just ignore em
Does it need to escalate to mod intervention if users can just follow the channel discussion guidelines?
But if you'd like to have a mod enlighten you as to what the rules are for lore discussion, we can do that
cool with me, theyre not douchebags about it
@night rock
How many worm gods are left
so i actually listen to the mods
@reef salmon
I know Xol is gone but what of the rest?
Xita's dead too, uh Akka too
Honesty? I think just xivus right?
Wait no witch killed that one
SO that's about like 4 left maybe?
How many were total?
@fresh zephyr Please keep the chat related to lore discussion and refrain from posting any non lore related media please
say no more
The Worm Gods themselves aren't specifically aligned with each of the HIve Gods, they are moreso an associate group
Dkay in lore chat? Impossible (you canāt leave until you give destiny fact)
So kinda including the worms from basic hive?
Not really
Rasputin shot the traveler
Unknown?
I thought it was like a hierarchy
Worm God's bestow the power onto Hive Gods?
(this is a joke I leave now ping me if anymore issues happen yall)

They made a deal, but regardless the Worm Gods are just a separate group who provide the Hive with worms via snippets of Xita's flesh, a la worms irl
He's had issues in the channel before, like his earlier confrontation with Eris; channel search should show his history of similar stuff
now we know whos been snitching on all our crota cheeses
Ohh. Thanks
We have:
Xita, Mother Worm (deceased/indefinite slumber)
Akka, Worm of Secrets (deceased, killed by Oryx to gain audience with The Deep aka the Witness, part of husk was made into the Dreadnaught)
Eir, Keeper of Order (alive)
Ur, the Ever-Hunger (alive)
Xol, Will of the Thousands (turned into Whisper of the Worm)
Yul, the Honest Worm (alive, tried eating Xol before Xol escaped)
Yul fact I didnāt know damn
So worm gods cant truly die but you can sever their connection with their supplicant?
Which I assume is one of the three hive gods
I mean thats what I got from your description of Xol and Xita being implied to be just sleeping for a period of time
Akka died most likely Xita has as well, having been essentially being burned for fuel for millennia to power the Upended
They are not in anyway actually connected to the Hive Gods - Oryx, Savathun, or Xivu Arath - save for their deal to put Worms in all the Hive and occassional interaction such as Yul telling Oryx to get on the Vex incursion into his Throneworld after Crota cut an opening for them to get through (via Savathun playing him like a fiddle)
Xol has cheesed the system in maintaining a part in the cycle of violence which the Sword Logic focuses on via being a tool for us to use only to kill
The lore entry itself elaborates his plan:
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/whisper-of-the-worm
A Guardian's power makes a rich feeding ground. Do not be revolted. There are parasites that may benefit the host⦠teeth sharper than your own.
ā
Xol, the Will of Thousands, perished but was not destroyed. Death is a road, death is metamorphosis, the unsacred union between destroyer and destroyed. The might which defeats a god is also the ambros...
And so now he's stuck in our Guardian's Vault, silently cackling to himself for having gamed the system and not dying to his stronger compatriots
Why did the Witness wait until the Traveler is awake and healthy again to return to fight it?
So Xol can revert back to his worm appearance then by using the sword logic through us
It was trying to find the Veil as well, and the Traveler was already surrounded on all sides by the Pyramid ships via the Ships essentially parking outside the Sol System; if the Traveler were able to consoidate enough forces that they would be able to eliminate the Black Heart, then the Witness would be notified to take action
No, he's just a gun now
oh wait i thought it was sentient
We don't really subscribe to the Sword Logic nor have a way to really process death into Ascendent Power like the Hive do via their worms
It is, it's just that, he's trying to make it seem like we're playing into his plan of enacting the Sword Logic by using him to eliminate our foes, but also the loretab just reveals everything out in the open. And again, we can't really utilize the Sword Logic in any meaningful way
Sidenote: lore tabs are kinda sorta probably a result of our Ghosts' ability to use something called Ghost Sight; they can scan something and essentially sus out his history and/or stuff it was present for
Thanks again
Kinda like how we used the Relic to view the truth of the Worm Gods' deal with Savathun and how it was her getting conned
Np; carbon guy's really unsavory which is why I was pissed at him, but generally I do like sharing what I know or directing questions to people who know more than me
Mael, Dova, Eris, and Waltz are all willing to answer questions best to our ability, but mind that we're people too, and sometimes regularly browsing this channel means some of the same questions tend to pop up a lot
I respect that, learned a great deal of the story and catching up because of you guys
Cheers
certainly not in this server
That sure is a statement...
gotta follow the rules dammit. so to make it lore relevant, ashir mir always rubbed me the wrong way
"Spare me your pity, Guardian. I stand before you of sound mind and filled with intellectual fury. What is there to pity?"
just bitter all the time got old quick
but then his line "What is there to say? Hunters, the both of them. I hired them for an earlier expedition and we stuck together. Until we didnāt." wouldnt have hit the same, but still
Well, many are. Many aren't.
That one sunbreaker and crow
That Sunbreaker. Asher. Shayura. Aunor Mahal. Katabasis. Many more.
All the ones I've met so far have been. Ikora, Zavala, Lord Shaxx, Saint-14
Sure, the leaders are. That's why they're leaders.
But many have had their darker pasts. Lord Shaxx and Lord Saladin in particular, and Saint-14 was considered to be a demon by the Eliksni.
Pfft.
The leaders being nice is a hell of a lot different than my experience with the military.
Guardians aren't exactly a strict military. There are very few ranks.
all they power rhulk vs nezarc?
is it true that felwinter was the strongest warlock?
He was definitely up there. But not strictly, no.
as in current strongest?
yea
well Osiris at current, has lost his light, and is currently learning strand, so he's not the strongest at the moment as far as we know
doesnt ikora hold the record for highest kills in crucible
> FIRST 25-MATCHĀ CRUCIBLEĀ WINNING STREAK RECORDED. RELATED:Ā REY, I.```
lets goo shes a beast
yeah, right now she'd be the strongest Warlock
does drifter hv a ghost i cant remember
do we know the name
He don't trust it though
He didn't name it.
oh realy?

no, a good sum of characters don't
Not the only one, but there aren't many.
hv we seen his ghost?
nah, Geppetto hasn't made an appearance either
love that name xd
she definitely has a unique one lol
sorry bout all these questions
could i ask whats ikoras ghost name
yup sounds like a ghost name she would hv XD
definitely lmao
oh zalavas ghost name is targe thats cool

Have some Warlord Shaxx tales
There are more but I'm on mobile so this is just from the top of my head
Who made shaxx have trouble sitting again? (Not exact like but very very similar)
dont saint hate saladin n shaxx?
Donāt think so,
Saladin and Shaxx had beef due to Twilight Gap. Saint-14 was on good terms with both, though he was dead for a while, of course.
I believe that referred to Ikora Rey, though I also don't believe it's quite as literal as some folks take it. Remind me about it in a couple hours, I'll find the actual source.
Cayde-6: Remember Omnigul? Hive General with the lovely voice? She's back.
Ikora Rey: Vanguard scouts report she's undone her death.
Cayde-6: Undone her death? You make it sound like she pulled her knitting apart.
Ikora Rey: Eris would tell you not to make light of this.
Cayde-6: That's why she's not here.
Ikora Rey: There's no telling wha...
FIRETEAM DEFEATS DEVIL SPLICERS AND HIVE
Cayde-6: Guardian, you remind me of⦠well, Ikora, back in her Crucible days.
Ikora Rey: That was a lifetime ago.
Cayde-6: I'm sure Shaxx hasn't forgotten. He still has trouble sitting.
hey i just realised that geometry dash has both the destiny ghost and engram; what implications does this have for the wider destiny universe?
@trim grotto do you know?
Zavala is a pro gd streamer confirmed?
Whether we wanted to or not, weāve stepped into a FIRE IN THE HOLE with the cabal on mars.
I don't know what geometry dash is.
I don't know what you expect me to say to that
Yeah that doesn't sound actually literal as opposed to a turn of phrase
Which is fine until you have to try and "prove" that to somebody who takes things very literally
also good sourcing
who is Cayde-6
An Exo who was the Hunter Vanguard before he got killed āpermanentlyā in the Prison of Elders
Oh is there supposed to a representative from every class in the Vanguard?
yes
They just haven't replaced him yet.
Zavala is the Titan Vanguard
Ikora the Warlock
correcto
i nominate the gunslinger in my last crucible match who got like 80% of his team's kills

Thereās this ongoing thing where Caydeās Vanguard Dare says that if the one who kills him was a Hunter theyād have to take his place as the Hunter Vanguard, and well, he died to Uldren Sov who got reborn as Crow (who is a hunter), so technically he should/shouldnāt take up being the Hunter vanguard
imagine he gets killed by cayde-6 in the traveler and then cayde-6 is the hunter vanguard again
ultimate uno reverse card
Plot twist of the century
where is the lore on doghives
idk, none of my dogs have ever had hives
this reads like a meme but it's from the actual writer
so
take from that as you will
There's a pretty strong chance that Crow is being set up for it.
This is not entirely unrelated to many Hunters very specifically avoiding the City or Tower because none want to be burdened with the responsibility.
place this in the d1 tower or smth and have people pet it for "sweet boy protocol"
it would be weird if they just pulled some random we've never met to do the job ig
Some people wanted Shiro-4 to do it, but Shiro lost two of his closest friends to that job, so he's not particularly inclined.
And there's a few layers of poetry tying Crow to the job.
my problem with Crow becoming the hunter vanguard is he has a full head of hair
when baldness is clearly a prerequisite
maybe if he shaves all that off he can get in
Ikora shaves, she isn't bald. Neither was Andal, nor half the other Hunter Vanguards. Nor Osiris.
clearly ikora shaves to meet the new baldness requirement
also i'm pretty sure osiris is bald
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/shayura
Most of their combined story can be found in this category of Ishtar. The armours are also their own sub categories if you want to read those as collections, which they are.
True, but he does have a beard.
ok ty
hey no one said anything about facial hair
so long as that dome is smooth, we good
crow gonna have to lose some feathers
actually, can awoken even grow facial hair?
never seen one rocking any
Meet the leader of Dead Orbit, Arach Jalaal.
The Dead Orbit are... notoriously edgy.
Well, doomer.
Ghost: This terminal looks like it's in use as a forum for Dead Orbit folks. About what you'd expect: lots of pictures of people wearing black, and nihilistic poetry.
That said, Dead Orbit were the most sane and people oriented of the Consensus Factions, so.
oh I think I remember those guys from Destiny 1
Correctamundo
I didn't work with them, I joined up with uhhhhhh
Future War Cult or New Monarchy
New Monarchy
Ahh, the facist coup staging monarchists
They have excellent fashion choices and terrible ideology
the drip was impeccable ngl
I don't respect them as a faction. But you're not wrong at all.
They knew how to look good.
Past tense, of course. Now they're... probably dead, I dunno. Not our problem anymore.
In the wake of the Iron Lords' untimely deaths and the chaos that threatened to topple the fledging City from within, the one known as the Speaker made his bid for power. To create the illusion of democracy, the Speaker established the Consensus, an oligarchical body of representatives from the City's leading political factions and the three Guardian classes. For the Titans: Saint-14, the right hand of the Speaker. For the Hunters: Tallulah Fairwind, first in a long line of ever-changing representatives. And for the Warlocks, the already-legendary warrior who had studied with Felwinter and Nirwen themselves: Osiris.``` - mind the bias here; Brother Vance worships Osiris and hates the Speaker and City for banishing Osiris. Nevertheless, the summary is accurate enough.
```"We will hear from each of the factions," I say, ignoring Osiris. Some decision is better than no decision. "Give them the opportunity to plead their case, save for those who have resorted to outright violence."
"Well, then we've got to get rid of Echelon South, for one," Tallulah lists, counting on her fingers. "And those Binary Star idiots, too. Trinary? Binary? Whatever. Anyway, there are plenty of fingers pointed at this new group, too. Monarchy something."
"If anyone can prove the rumors, we exile their leaders," I say, holding up my hand. "The factions that stay will argue their case. Of those that have a valuable viewpoint to bring to the governance of the City, we create a council."
"This sets a dangerous precedent, Speaker," Osiris says. We will have this argument again later, I can already tell. "I hope you're prepared to walk this slope."
We vote. Osiris is the only no. Then, after an inquiry into the violence, we form the Consensus.```
Originally, there was the Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Concordat.
Dead Orbit, to put it simply, wished to leave Earth, Sol, and the Traveler. To abandon our home and wander the stars, abandoning the pain we've endured. It's hardly unreasonable, and indeed became further justified the longer we stayed on Earth. The Collapse, Dark Ages, Eliksni, Cabal... the Great Disaster, the arrival of Oryx...
In many ways, Dead Orbit were the ones who cared most for the people, if the least for our home.
New Monarchy... well, wanted one leader. To quote their own lore tab... ```The New Monarchy rose from the ashes of the Faction Wars with a simple, inclusive guiding tenet: "Together we will rise."
Leery of the fragile state of the City's politics, the New Monarchy maintains a watchful eye on the Speaker, the Consensus, and the Vanguard, seeking the leadership that will properly reign over the City and return our civilization to its Golden Age splendor. If that leadership cannot be found, then it must be created.```
In theory, it'd create a single unified government and leadership around which humanity could rally. In reality, they were fascist, oppressive, and money hungry.
The Concordat attempted a coup and were expelled many years ago, leading to the enstatement of the Future War Cult.
```"There is the War Cult."
"Too secretive. Have you ever tried to talk to one of their 'soldiers'? Like a child. Answering questions with questions."
"They are dedicated to the war."
"Which one?"
"Good question."
"Zavala?"
"They seem focused. Strong. More interesting than worrisome."
"Let's take it to a vote. All in favor of the ascension of the Future War Cult?"
"Unanimous? Good. We'll grant the Future War Cult access to the Tower and a seat among us. Ghost, please offer the Speaker this proposal."```
They weren't insane at the time, just... quirky. The Device was a concern but they were focused on war so as to protect us. Given the time period, it wasn't unjustified.
Btw it just me or the veil look small?

I mean before calus, it looks big. But when reached calus, it looks a bit small

well thems the breaks kid; to be more concise, we donāt have much information on how the Veil physical appearance should be, all we have is just. itself inside the Veil Containment area to see how it looks ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Actually, it should have fairly little impact on our current Destiny universe, though perhaps canonically it is part of the greater Paraverse that Bungie has written as their version of the Multiverse; if you recognize that term, thatās because yes, Dares of Eternity pulls enemies and rewards from different universes in the Paraverse. A new Crota for every time you roll Hive for the final encounter, the halves of a covenant plasma blade being converted into legendary swords, armor cosmetics based on the Marathon universe, all pulled from versions of their original universe
I guess the second key thing about Dares is that it itself insulates its events from those of the main story, so while you do participate in it canonically, it doesnāt have any lore impact

wanna feel even better? no one knows theyve been using "begs the question" the wrong way the entire time
it doesnt mean raises the question
everyone just thinks it does
From cursory look up, "begging the question" is used to describe a conclusion or statement which regards a different question, whereas "raising the question" is as it is presumed to be utilized as: asking the proper question which should be answered rather than the initial train of thought. In seeing something "beg a question", it summarily leads into "raising" the correct question and line of thought; they lead to the same correction of course regardless of utilization. Also why bring this up
take it down a couple pegs
Politely, no!
damn that was pretty polite
hello yes I have a lore question
do exo resets entail memory loss, like Banshee-44?
(you get the idea)
Resets come with an intentional memory wipe. Excessive resets can create lasting damage to an Exomind. Banshee-44 is a bit of a special case, however.
Banshee-44... Well, I could answer this, or I could provide the lore book that answers it. You also earn this during the Lost Lament quest from Beyond Light.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/transcripts/ghost-scan-core-terminus-mars
In the meantime, listen to the delightful voice of the Concierge explain the purpose and concerns behind resets.
Concierge AI: The Human mind in a mechanical body. We are at the cusp of major breakthroughs in making this a reality. Would you like to know more?
Concierge AI: Early experiments in Exo science managed to encode the Human consciousness into a form that could be processed digitally. At the time, we believed that was the big hurdle to overcome in...
what about the one that got reset like
2000 times
Oh, Echo
Ah, ECHO
Yes, they, um
They weren't doing so well

CONTINGENCY
EN ROUTE: URANUS ā CAELUS STATION OUTER BAND ā LOCATION INCONCLUSIVE
āI was able to pull some data from those Exo samples.ā Jinju perches on the cockpit dashboard. Two tech mites crawl over her shell.
Their jump-ship plummets through fractalescent polychrome luge, ripping across the sable pitch of space at blistering speed.
Ana lea...
Thunder, one final time. The storm gives life, but never came to take.
He slips from rot shackles. Worn with age. Weary, they snap at slightest motion. Untold rotations pass without movement. Freedom?
He matures questions. A hunger wells up within him.
He travels the station. From Tomb Bay, to the Mind Shell, to the Sealed Space. In dark, and in light.
The Mind Shell teaches Him the new roads. Teaches Him the majesty of the Rings. Teaches him the key.```
This is an excerpt of his thought process.
Outside of these outliers, Exo resets are more akin to uploading to an earlier save with an autosave system enabled; for some pieces, yes, reseting a normal exo will entail loss of some memory but there should be a sufficient amount updated that they can resume their tasks
However, for Exo guardians, you cannot so easily just reset them and expect the same individual, since they're not technically connected back into the system in their time being Risen
For example, Cayde-6
We could bring him back as Cayde-7, but he would only have memory up until the original mortal Cayde-6 died, he would have none of the memories made as a Guardian
Nor would he be a Guardian.
so if you were to bring a guardian exo back, they would exist as their before-guardian self
it wouldnāt even be their proper exo self
it would be the copy taken from the human being with zero memory whatsoever
basically just a new version completely
Still mad to think they got Stephen Fry to do something for Destiny
If we had access to their mindscan and uploaded it to a new Exobody, then they'd be as if they we just reset them or as if they were freshly uploaded. No memory, like any other reset.
Destiny was full of celebrity names during the Activision days
Iām more surprised that Lance, Gina, and Nathan for D1
Well, up to the last update to their mindscan, which we don't know if the databases continued to update after the Collapse or if it's currently just paused
I think
Bill Nighy too
Or I could be wrong and missed something saying otherwise (the exo trial simulation or DSC)
slowly looks at modern MW
if by "modern" you mean the past 15 years and "MW" you mean Call of Duty as a whole, yeah that's def true
The Nikki Minaj reveal from a while back felt so surreal, but also like yeah, relatively young celebrities rn would have been part of the generation to play those games and therefore pursue a collab
Still jarring tho, and super funny
they've been pushing celebrities into all their marketing since Black Ops 1
remember Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel in trailers for BO1
Jeez that's funny
But also yea that's the gist of Exo resets, they sorta have memory loss, though from records prior to the Collapse it seems like there was some sort of update system to prevent issues with remembering to do their jobs
And also Exo resets are not a viable way to return a guardian who has died a Final Death
can ikora grow hair but chooses to shave it
Yeah
I guess it's the number one rule of non-human companions in games and movies: every other one of the same species has a name except the main one
Generally yeah
Either they choose their own, are named by their Guardian or pick up a name/nickname from others
Well...
However, Tyra Karnās Ghost isnāt named
Well see that's the thing
A lot of Ghosts don't consider that they've got a "real" name until their Chosen names them
Hence why Tyra's Ghost is still called Ghost
Because she wants him to name himself
idk about that
Ah I see
It's why Glint is... Well, Glint, instead of still being Pulled Pork
in most movies the protagonist's dog has a name
Though some Ghosts like Peach probably don't care as much
Iād assumed it was more of a personal agency thing with Ghosts than a shared general desire
I think it's a bit of both.
Peach probably doesn't give a shit because Peach is a strong independent Ghost who don't need no Chosen
But most Ghosts feel the pull and need to find their Chosen, and the name thing is part of the bonding process
we should get to name our ghost
We don't name Ghost for the same reason we're not named. It's left open for self insert.
I'm not saying I agree with this, but that's what it is.
Thereās also a significant number of Ghosts titled āGhost of [Risenās name]ā, in that a number of Guardians havenāt named them yet
Yeah there are a decent few who aren't named
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Even besides Tyra Karn
Ghost Stories has a good number of examples
Iām gonna name my ghost wolfy
We canāt name our Ghost because we and other characters talk to him in dialogue
Heād still ultimately get called Ghost
And then there's some who should have remained unnamed
Like the Ghost of Rezyl Azzir, turned Dredgen Yor... his Ghost... called Vincent.
Vincent.
Which is why itās left up to your imagination if you wanna name them
There doesnāt need to be an in-game thing for it
Thereās no point
Didi is a good one
Oh god not this one
Vincent is a fine name wym.
I love this one itās so cute
The name is fine but this perfectly bog standard name of Vincent was the Ghost of Rezyl Azzir
Which is a wild name
Wonder if drifter has a name for witness yet
Companions help with others I guess
Iād imagine āOlā Smokeyā is on the table
Otherwise... yeah, they just name themselves eventually. Or get given names. It's whatever they want.
Thatās something youād name an iron lord tho
they have no memories, right? they don't know anything about their life before they were resurrected
Exo are a minor exception, but yes.
imagine someone got resurrected next to a bathroom sign, and so named themselves bathroom
Iām still confused about that tbh. Do they remember or do their Ghosts scan them and tell them? From what I recall that seemed inconsistent
having no clue what a bathroom is
Well, they lose their episodic memory. They know how to live and what things are.
(Watch it be like a bar code on the back or something Kek)
*mostly
Heh
Orin
Smoke head
they also all know how to speak english
Aside from the unique case of Felwinter, they seems to just know their names.
very convenient ig
Eh
Depending on your language settings you can argue they know any language conveniently
What about that one lore tab with Shiro-4 from the Legacyās Oath armour?
They know their native languages. French Canadian has popped up before.
And when they wake up, they're hit with... what did Cayde call it...
Dyno mentioned that recently I think
Oh yeah Caydeās account of his first Rez!
On Ishtar
they all can understand each other
so that would make sense ig
"BOOM! I wake up. Groggy. Confused. Hungover. It's the same for us all, so that initial shock's nothing new. Sundance is in my face, and I'm freaking out. My brain works, but I don't remember a thing 'cept that I seem to be a functioning life formāI'm human, I'm a man. And then my mind starts reeling a thousand miles a minute. BOOM-BOOM-BOOM. Like I'm downloading the 'Idiot's Guide to Basic Human Existence.' Cool. Great. Still can't remember anything. And I sure can't wrap my head around the talking, floating magic robot orb-thing jabbering in my face. I'm freaked. So, I freaked. Smacked her to the ground. Hard⦠And I ran.

Good point! Maybe Felwinter wasn't an outlier after all.
In that case, anyway.
Ah dang, I was gonna go āBOOM! Found it at the bottom of his category on Ishtarā

i could use one of these

is there a timeline for destiny to look at
Gameplay wise or lore wise?
like much time there was between the Great Disaster and Twilight Gap
or between the end of destiny 1 and the start of 2
Well, yes and no.
Hang on, let me turn my computer on, I've just arrived home.
When it comes to the Destiny timeline, we often have enough information to place an event in a particular period of time, and often in an order. But Destiny very rarely gives us actual hard dates. We do not know the current year, for example. We don't know how long the Golden Age was, nor the Dark Age, and the specific point historians wish to use as the beginning of the City Age isn't even firmly established - albeit in my experience, most use the victory of Six Fronts.
What we do know is that the Great Disaster was "centuries" ago, according to Eris Morn, and that Twilight Gap was "decades" ago.
If you want an order of events, we have a few of those. This one, for example, was curated by Dyno, who's worked on the timeline for some years now.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/timeline
that would be helpful, thanks
As for this, not much. Time in Destiny is relatively 1/1 with real time. For example, we have a quote giving us "less than a decade of service".
āCulpable, yes. You didnāt let me finish. We lost Cayde on a random Tuesday. And you all just took that Guardianās word for it? One whoās had less than a decade of service?ā Aunor turned, bathed in the layered light of the holograms. Arc energy hummed in the air around her. The holograms flickered and distorted. āYou didnāt think to ask whether it was a lie? You didnāt think it was important to pore over this footage, to double-check every possible angleāā
There are some minor exceptions such as the Red War going on for months, but there are other ways to explain that.
can the Ahamkara be classified as skin walkers
dragon walker
Lmao
anyways, back to being horrified while listening to Skinwalker storys
š
traveler/ghosts are basically necromancers
It was She that inspired me to imagine your destruction, o jailer mine.
ā
Tallulah Fairwind smoothed the felt of the table with one hand, idly playing with her chips with the other. Across the table, Caliban-8 wore a green dealer's cap and looked stricken.
The Ahamkara looked like somebody's kindly old grandpa just now. And it could play a mean ...
So is the Fanatic really
The universe of Destiny differentiates necromancy from resurrection. Risen are, by all rights, fully and completely alive, even when they lose the Light later on.
Necromancy is more akin to what Nokris or Fikrul does
Is haha funny, but also the š¤ in my brain has to clarify that Exos do have to eat and taste regular food so as to not make their subconscious commit alt+f4
is there a lore reason why this motherfucker is 10000000x harder than every other boss I've fought combined
No
Hes just a beefy man
I mean this is a particularly strong fella imma be real
It's been more than satisfactory so far. I didn't anticipate a massive difficulty spike.
What should I change it to?
Yeah Mr "accidentally bypassed a dmg phase solo" strong fella
For starters double primary is a obvious nono
Secondly, try a better linear fusion rifle
Without banner of war, strand isn't particularly good here
Last I checked ignition bypasses explosion resistance so solar's p good
I've been using Strand to grapple around because I just get oneshot by the thing's grab attack in the last phase otherwise
You're faster than him
I don't own any linear fusion rifles though, so I'll go grab one.
Ah
At that point
Lfg for help.
Double primary
Get frens
I bought Sleeper Simulant and changed to Solar and that helped a lot
most of my deaths are from getting knocked over the edge it was super fucking annoying
is there any lore behind any exotic ornament?
like how omolon have conditional ornament?
Ornaments are never canon and are only ever references or purely cosmetic with zero context
like turning Necrochasm into siva or Lament into a hive sword
Well, Iād say itās probably a case by case basis whether an ornament could be canon or not
was this the traveler directly speaking to us?
Through the voices of others, yes.
Who are the others?
So every time the traveler has spoken to us it has spoke through the voice of others?
It has very rarely spoken to us. It usually communicates by visions. And a Hawk of Light, once.
in the hawkmoon mission?
Indeed
I just noticed this but thatās the same bird
In one of the other trailers
I think
I could be wrong
Bad shot but i think it might be the same bird
That was one of the aforementioned visions
But yes, the familiarity would be intentional
Has the traveler spoken to us after the hawkmoon mission in any way?
Hmm
After...
Not off the top of my head but I'm not in a position to double check right now
Yes.
Fun fact, this isnāt Io, this is Mars.
Wellā¦. waitā¦. hold on a second!
Idk, it could be either Io or Mars.
They are incredibly similar
Both cradles are located in a crater or basin, Mars did have water at one point during the terraforming process. Io seems to have a liquid near the cradle.
cradles are just things that happen when the traveler does the big life beam
They need to make every location playable in Destiny 2.
And imagine the file size if they did
If they were to bring back the entirety of the vaulted Planetary, the Reef, the campaigns for Red War, Curse of Osiris, The Warmind, Forsaken, all previous seasonal locations and activities in addition to eveything currently in game, do you know how long the download time would be even if optimized?
During and after. It returned to the dusty red we know after the Collapse.
And yes, that's correct. You can see the Lure above it. And you can see it in game too, of course.
Interestingly, we knew there was a Mars Cradle since the days of D1. However, the location of this Cradle does not match up with the location stated in dialogue back in D1. This could be a retcon/inconsistency, there could be more than one Cradle, or it could be due to something akin to the Glykon, which had rooms and hallways shuffled at random during its time within the Mars anomaly.
Cayde's death hurts more when you realise he probably wouldn't have died if he hadn't been betrayed.
He fought an entire prison
Literally he rode the security center down into the lower levels before waiting for us to back him up
We were too
Yet we haven't died our Final Death yet
But if Uldren or whatever his name was hadn't killed him, we and the others would probably have arrived in time to help.
Then maybe he shouldn't have tried to solo the Barons and hordes of Scorn, instead waiting for us to back him up; also that still doesn't mean he was betrayed, just that he put himself in a bad situation
Maybe if he had a different loadout on
He was shot by another Guardian
Uldren was not a Guardian
The barons would have killed him if uldren didnāt
Once his ghost was shot it was basically over
He became a Guardian after his corpse was rezzed, but Uldren was not a Guardian
But ig yeah that whole sequence of events was some sort of betrayal
Still, wasn't Uldren supposed to be an ally or did he just appear out of nowhere?
Uldren was basically brainwashed though
Uldren was basically insane to the point he had to be held in the Prison of Elders, not to mention being manipulated by Riven
Ig variks did betray us in a way but I forget the exact reason
Gimme a minute, finishing this class
He let the prisoners out didnāt he
Do i see mod aboose
Yet Cayde survived that.
Tf you gonna do about it
I mean
No lol
One of the prisoners shot his ghost
I'm going to write a strongly worded email
:(
And he was able to hold his ground without respawning while being heavily wounded (he was losing, but still)
Literally he dies in containing that break out, that is what happens
For a time
That was all in the opening mission of Forsaken
Actually
Does our ghost have to be out to heal us?
Why did he pull out his ghost lol
Yup
We don't know the specific reason for it but ghost cannot heal you in it's ethereal?? form
Disembodied form
Plot reasons
Bionicle text wall incoming
Uldren Sov was the younger brother of Mara Sov, and had spent a significant time scouting the Black Garden with one Joylon; sometime after that, he was also part of the Awoken attack in the Dreadnaught, in which the Awoken Armada was decimated with the weapon on the Dreadnaught, leading Uldren to crash into the Reef. Corruption from the Black Garden and also surviving almost dying - as well as underlying family issues with Mara - drove Uldren insane, which lead to him killing a bunch of Awoken Corsairs on the Reef. He was promptly imprisoned in the Prison of Elders after that.
because he was being cocky;
he was getting out more on strikes, feeling less like a desk monkey and more like a Guardian.
He did not play smart, which is unfortunate
Iām hoping Eevee knows who Mara Sov is, sheās pretty important to the current seasonal story rn
Just found out savathun was aā¦. Deity?? Thought it was a throne area. Anyways, was he on par with the witness?
Savathuns a deity to the hive
Thatās only the case because of the witness
As is hive existence as a whole
She
So no not on par with the witness. The witness is probably the most powerful thing in the universe
And she was the Hive God of Cunning and Lies and shit
Weāll see how it squares up w the light ig
Which means that sheās powerful for sure, but mostly just that sheās revered
how do guardians switch subclasses
which raises the question why does hefly around with a fleet of empty ships
They just use different types of Light
It takes discipline to learn and master though so
Most Guardians are still learning to wield one element
I donāt think theyāre empty
Just based on the ones weāve entered anyway
weāve had two different raids in two different ships
The ships are massively powerful and capable while it doesnāt even have to be around
Look at our Collapse
The Witness wasnāt present at all
Only Nezarec
he only needs 1 ship
Yet the Black Fleet that attacked us razed all our worlds
Oh I see what ur saying
since just 1 can blow up the solar system, apparently
Sent us into the Dark Age (and thatās only because SavathĆ»nās actions spared us)
so why does he need 100000000 ships
Funny
I just explained why
my 1 nuclear missile can blow up your house, so imma bring 10 million missiles, for no reason?
its as if, at some point it was a new alien race
an impending invasion
hence, fleet
then it got scrapped
when they did show up, we got power ups
we didnt even lose or get attacked or anything
we got buffed
????
We literally did?
Tf are you talking about
stasis
I did not contest that part
But the Pyramids fucked Rasputin up and removed entire worlds from our system, leading to the deaths of Asher and Vance and the presumed death of Sloane
And then they tried to tempt us with dark power that without the intervention of Elsie, would have fucked over Guardians completely
Of course I know Mara Sov
sucks to be them
doesnt explain all the other ships are for
they just sit there, watching the show, full of nothing
Ok, what even is Strand?
oryx invasion was so grandiose
Scientifically, it probably has to do with quantum strings, or maybe what holds reality together, hence why enemies defeated with Strand just break apart into strings.
witness has been all up in the traveler for a whole year
ships are just there, chilling
harmless, after 10 years of hyping their threat
Itās our manipulation of a dimension of psychic Darkness energy that ties the entire universe together
This dimension is called the Weave
This is why weāre able to grapple onto points of essentially thin air
The Weave creates a cosmic web everywhere
So we can grapple onto any point in the Weave
What are they for? If there's no one on them, are they transporting anything useful? Does every pyramid have a disciple in it? If so, why didn't the moon pyramid have a disciple? Did the pyramids encircle the traveler just to scare humanity?
The Lunar Pyramid didnāt have a Disciple because a certain Hive God of Lies killed him
savathun is the savior of the human race
why didnt calus get his own ship?
He did
He did

thats what im asking, obviously
lol
but then he was yelling hopefully witness would see him
wasnt that the point of making him a disciple
Wdym?
in the boss fight
maybe the witness will see me
thats what he says
I donāt mind the idea of darkness being abstract and neutral like the Light.
Total and complete subjugation; thereās also the implication that the Witness can essentially teleport across each ship as well as control them remotely with their mind
but the Witness being an amalgamation of people and the dreaded Pyramid shapes being empty just sucks, a lot
"fear this, shits scray huh?"
hell yeah, i feel it
"its actually this you should fear!"
its some goofy looking dude
Meh, thatās subjective
the thing that you cant go to, but you can still see it, just chilling
go to the moon and its right there, perfectly fine and within flying distance
then he got the Typhon Imperator
just stay out of his melee range
We can argue what would make the Witness scary but I doubt anyoneās mind will change
actually seeing him beat the shit outta me
So you want Senator Armstrong
thatd make him pretty scary if you ask me
yeah see when you do that
i do not fear "its" at all
personifications make threats scary
"imma murder why"
why?
"cus i like it"
fucking run
being able to identify the threat
no ones actually scared of being alone in the woods
theyre scared they might not be
What do you mean āpersonificationsā?
tell me what im supposed to fear, a her? him? alien? what kihd?
Literally what are you waffling about
I would give my analysis of the Witness being analogous to nihilism in the modern day and that being framed against the Guardians choosing to keep fighting and keep hope, to give themselves definition for living despite the nihilistic truth of no inherent meaning to existence, but idk if youāll even understand that when pronouns make you struggle
It is an amalgamation of an entire species. It is not gendered. Itās just this gestalt entity
"it, not him" what do you mean it
Itās no mortal that can be summed in a gendered identity, it is simply It
Iām really tired of the way Destiny players just default to he/him for everyone and everything
Then again this is carbon weāre talking to
no shit, so even though i say him, thats not gendering, its just so you know exactly whos being referred to
"it" the ships are also its
That does not make sense
The Witness isnāt a āheā so āheā does not identify it
This is a special line of thought I enjoy in an ironic way
Iām not having this conversation
but once i say him, boom. obviously i mean the witness, the person that matters
hes also not real
Yea letās leave this here, lest carbon proceed to break rules again
And like, Patar was just in the channel, so like. Use common sense and maybe not break rules when mods are active in a server. How is this an issue for you?
let me worry about that, im a big boy, ill deal with it
out of everyone, you talk shit the most
in lore channel
at least do it crucible, thats the rules
Anyways, Witness is an It. You can read mentions of the Witness by other characters and they use āitā. And the original question of why there as so many ships has been addressed. Clowns can continue arguing whatās pretty apparent in the game, none of my fault nor anyoneās they canāt read.
hes trying to kill humanity
i dont give a fuck what he is
other than what i need to kill
Whatever lets you cope harder
sorry, im pro human, not an alien apologist
oh my god this again
"Fear not the alien, the mutant, the heretic"
Love when gamers- damn bro the Satire is in orbit from how over your head it is
oh the dude that murder billions of humans is offended?
good
if i offend the genocidal alien enough youll think itll stop the extinction of our species?
imma try it, watch me
Seeing as no opinions have changed in the past discussion, maybe someone should listen to the words āMoving onā more often
im more offended all my homies are dead
Hello friends
What's up in lore today
Run Mael
where is Clovis Bray today?
Giving you exotic catalyst missions
Depends. The AI copy of him or Clovisā Exomind?
Clovis himself
Yeap
Depends on what you mean. His AI is still in Eternity, the facility on Europa. Clovis the Exomind us Banshee-44.
If you own Beyond Light, you should go acquire Lament.
Yeah I did that
The last thing the Vex ever heardāthe grinding wails of a vicious Banshee.
ā
FROM THE DESK OF CLOVIS BRAY
Dear⦠me.
For one who has delved into some of the greatest secrets science has to offer, you would think I'd find speaking with oneself rather monotonous. However, this very letter represents a successful culmination of all I have worked to ...
Banshee is Clovis
Yeah
Clovis-1 awoke as an Exo, told the Clovis AI to piss off and then spent 42 lives fighting the Vex valiantly
And on his 43rd reset, asked for his memory of Clovis to be wiped and for his name to be changed to Banshee
The loretab for the Lament exotic is his letter to himself prior to becoming mindscanned and uploaded to his Exo form
He does now. You yourself told him during the Lament quest.
Banshee doesnāt even remember the password to his old laptop; yes
Ah oh yeah
Ohh
Was Clovis a good guy or a bad guy?
Clovis was an awful disgrace of a human being.
But, he also progressed our technological standard by leagues.
What did he do?
Sexist, amoral, preformed many human experiments resulting in deaths
Complete egotistical shithead
Tried to destroy the Traveler by erasing Rasputin's autonomy and taking utter control, and using Rasputin as a weapon
Severely narcissistic, to the point of scheming a plan to replace the Travelers as humanityās savior
Wanted to give humanity immortality so that he could live forever and also be remembered forever for it
Killed his granddaughter Elsie Bray
Watched his son die
Yes and no
Not exactly
Sheās Elsie Bray
Elizabeth?
But also sheās stuck in a time loop

Elsie shares our past. Whenever an unspecified, probably Traveler related trigger occurs, she is thrown back to a point in the early/mid City Age. She's been in a loop for an unknown, uncountable time.
She's seen many variations of the future from that moment onwards
We are merely one of those branches
she gives you a really mid rifle
That being said, we are further than sheās ever seen now yeah?
So originally sheās from our timeline
Think of it like branches from a tree
We're on a branch but we share the same past (trunk)
She has hopped from branch to branch
Without control
It's very good for PvP.
And sheās the granddaughter of Clovis along with Ana Bray?
ah haven't tried it in the crucible yet
Perhaps not in literal duration but as far as progress goes, yes
And Willa and Alton Bray
Are Ana and Elsie cousins or sisters?
Oh theyāre muted?
Half Sisters
Her father cheated
And the lie they told to cover it up was that Ana was adopted
Sisters, Ana being the result of Clovis IIās affair with another woman
I canāt see ācause I blocked them
Yea
Hope he learns why no one wants to discuss with him, and that itās not from some kind of lore superiority
You've had a fun discussion then have you
Ye, very wordy
Imagine reciting the motto of the Inquisition, as if it isnāt apparent they are a satirical take upon the original Inquisition
āFear not the heretic, the mutant, the alienā but fear some damn accountability, exterminatus is a meme for a reason
In other news, have there been any big theories from the Cryptarchy?
Kuang Zahn may have communed with the Witness
Whereās he from in the lore?
Jersey
K1
basically the same thing in practice
Ah ok
I remember that theory of the Witness speaking through the K1 Anomaly floating for a bit
Did the Guardian ever cross paths with Clovis Bray?
Like a face to face interaction or something like that
Well, there's the interaction with Clovis in his giant head AI form in Beyond Light's Campaign, as for him as a physical person, I don't think so
Yes, the giant AI exo head. And Banshee.
But if you mean in flesh and blood, no. He died/was uploaded before the Collapse.
I keep forgetting Banshee was Clovis
Why does Bray Tech have the thiccest robots known to man?
Who's Clovis?
Clovis Bray is a mad scientist who experimented with Radiolara on people to create "la fontaine de jouvance" (fountain of youth), and basically created the Exos during the Golden Age
Oh, so that also explains this.
I'm assuming you're referring to Elsie Bray the Exo Stranger in particular. Most people are.
Elsie's Exobody was custom made to mimic her original human body proportions. Many Exobodies didn't have this personal touch, but Elsie is Clovis's granddaughter, and so earned some special privilege.
Didn't stop him from killing her once, though.
Not Elsie Bray, just the Bray Tech lab in Europa.
Then it's just Exo being designed to be human-like in nature. If an Exo doesn't subconsciously human, they may succumb to DER.
"If an Exo doesn't subconsciously human"
What's DER?
Disassociative Exomind Rejection, which is a fun little mental problem that may result in madness and eventual braindeath
Hush
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/transcripts/ghost-scan-core-terminus-mars
The Concierge can explain the process quite well for you
Concierge AI: The Human mind in a mechanical body. We are at the cusp of major breakthroughs in making this a reality. Would you like to know more?
Concierge AI: Early experiments in Exo science managed to encode the Human consciousness into a form that could be processed digitally. At the time, we believed that was the big hurdle to overcome in...
The RoN weapons look a lot like Cells/microscopic organisms in my opinion. Is this intentional?
Considering the rest of the raid in it of itself is meant to be organic since the place where we're at was hit by the Traveler's life beam, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the intention
"The RoN weapons are actually just already existing weapons, they just have that weird shell on top of them as well" - @chrome fog
How'd cayde get ressurected
we don't know yet
That's yet to be determined
I see
We just know he's "back"
Maybe he's actually Deadpool after all
I do recall both of them being pretty humourous and goated
I once heard someone say crow wished it to bring him back from riven
It could be, up till now though all we have is speculation
This doesn't explain much, but it may explain why it's Cayde, specifically.
I guess youāre right tho. When battling it out with the first disciple, wasnāt it a tie. And thatās just against a disciple on mars I think.
We killed Rhulk in SavathĆ»nās Throne World
Fynch also calls Witness as he? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGCvY9hF46s
Idle Dialogue from Fynch, a Hive Ghost, in Savathƻn's Throne World.
**
Fynch: So this Pyramid weapon scours the Light, but the Hive never used one... Tells me the Witness never trusted them with it. What other surprise has he got?
**
Fynch, Hive Ghost ā Idle Dialogue (SavathĆ»n's Throne World) Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=...
Awkward.... š¤¦āāļø
Nevertheless, that doesn't make it accurate.
The way the game, and devs, describe their own characters?
Unless āheā refers to Rhulk there?
Bungie are generally consistent with this
They have been with Nimbus and Stargazer for example

Lore isn't black and white a lot of the time. And we have since learned, which Fynch didn't know, that the Witness is an amalgamation of an entire species. It inherently by nature is not gendered.
Pardon?
The Witness refers to itself as "We"
Wait, Mael, donāt engage here
End of discussion.
Both then
Just remembered this is the guy with the baity transphobic bio/username
This is clearly another sad attempt at baiting around this topic
Well, yes, sometimes. The devs don't know all of their own lore. That's not a dig at them, it's just a fact.
Besides that, the character can be wrong, too.
Oh
That one
"transphobic"
Its entirely possible that what Fynch said was written before certain things of the Witness as a character was written so errors like this can happen
The Witness always refers to itself as "we" and thats where we'll leave this discussion
All of you
Take it to DMs if you really wish to continue
Anywho
if you ever want to report something you can use #šcontact-us and we'll take care of it
š
ngl having to rejoin a strike for like 10 times until i get a fresh lobby is a pain...
i guess it's w/e once you've done them all once for the story, but still...
I'm sure it is. But, uh, is there a lore topic attached to this?
the lore reason is that the witness is using causal forces to prevent you from connecting @bronze stone
I have a lore question when we our guardian is doing raids are we actually doing it alone
Or do we bring in a fire team
And who would that fire team consist of
Fireteam
Unknown
ah wel thatās cool I guess thanks for the answer
my fireteam consists of 5 people named Randy
Is he at zone B?
All 5 of hims?
ok, you're wondering who they are?
so what's the question?
I dunno figured I'd bring it to your attention
hmmm
well it is interesting that they finally mentioned them again
though I think I'll need to read the whole entry myself
having a quick ishtar look i never knew of other factions apart from the 3 you could join, also linked the pineapple rice entry which i didnt quite get
no love for lysandre
The guy from PokƩmon?
Yall arenāt ready for my opinions on him
ignoring that, I donāt really know what bungie would do with the concordat at this point
Reading about the concordat donating the skimmers got me wondering, do we know what happened to the factions after they left at the end of Splicer?
Yes and no
FWC was disbanded. NM and DO we haven't heard from since they left, with the exception of an undated log between Jalaal and Ikora about an unrelated topic.
Also do we know what Mysteries: Vault of Glass 3 is?
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/mystery-the-vault-of-glass-3
A starfield. The stars swing slowly across the Ghost's field of view, just darkness and the blazing fury of distant suns as the Ghost tumbles through empty space. Hours of this before, with a wash of power, a huge convoy of ships drops into reality from warp.
A convoy of Guardian craft, hundreds strong. Ships of all sizes and shapes can be se...
Prediction of the future by the vex? The actual future simulated by the vex? Something else? Or do we not know for sure yet?
A future that didn't come to pass, presumably
Also how does vex simulations work with the light? Can they only predict light abilities used before against them? Like in CoO cutscene, we see a vex simulation of a VoG fireteam. Can they only simulate that because they encountered them before? Like would they be able to simulate a warlock summoning a nova bomb, but their simulations would crack at trying anything else? Or is that snapshot more like a rerecording than a simulation?
As far as we can tell, that simulation was more of a recording. The main issue is that they cannot predict Light or Lightbearers. To them, there's no logical path between our actions when Light is involved.
Quria for example could not simulate Oryx, but could simulate Aurash - a version of Oryx without any paracausal influence
So to the vex, a warlock about to use their super could equally be summoning a nova bomb, or summoning a swarm of pigeons, or summoning a loaf of bread, or an infinite number of other things?
Since there's no rhyme or reason to the nova bomb being summoned?
Yeah that's pretty much it exactly
Also, with Panoptes, was it such a big deal to deal with because it's processing power was so great along with the infinite Forest that it had the potential to simulate paracausal powers and bring forth the vex dominated future?
Like I feel like I never properly understood the story of CoO when I first played through it, and now obv I can't anymore
I've got to get back to work sorry
Maybe @dim minnow can help
How I imagine it
(Though I might be wrong)
Imagine Convergence (the Vex defeat everyone and convert the universe into their image) as a meal
Panoptes is the chef of that meal and has discovered the recipe, hence we must destroy it
I've always thought Panoptes was the biggest vex threat we've faced yet solely because he was the closest who came to cracking paracausality the vex way1
Like both Quria and Sol Divisive were closer, but they required to be taken and gifted darkness respectively to do so
While Panoptes almost did it through pure number crunching
Is there lore on whatever magic it is Warlocks use for their powers or the "magic" really just the same as the other classes have but focused in a different way?
Itās all just Light
No differences other than āpresentationā/aesthetic
So the "trained in the arcane arts" line is really just for show
Is there a lore reason for why a Hive subclass couldn't be added?
I'm no lore expert but the Hive, with the exception of Savathun's horde, are subserviant to the Witness.
I would guess the fear of being corrupted by the Witness' influence dissuades people from tapping into the Hive's power.
We already have lore about that mf Dredgen Yor what happens when Hive magic affects a Guardian.
Iām not sure Hive magic is really exactly Darkness the way Stasis and Strand are
Could be wrong
Maybe sometime in the future things will change and we'll get Hive powers after all.
i'll be 100 and say when I found out we'd finally be getting darkness powers, hive stuff is what immediately came to mind
not mr freeze and green string cheese
why savathun the way she is one second she is kind the next she is trying to kill us and take the travler !?
savathun is a tsundere
Youāve completely misinterpreted SavathĆ»n as a character
Yk, the Hive God of Cunning and Lies?
Sheās never had our best interests at heart
She left us to die after all
fair
She only worked with us to her own benefit
Now she can be fair, like leaving Osiris with us as part of our bargain
But she also left him completely comatose
All Hive born after the Three Hive Gods got their worms only know how to eat Guardian Light and lie
lie is savathƻn's favorite word
she just did what we've all wanted to do
The only reason she ratted on the Witness is cuz she got caught between a rock and a pipebomb
We were the pipebomb
whats the rock xivu arath or the witness
Savathƻn's primary goal was to escape the Worm Parasite's hunger.
She realised it wasn't sustainable, even after redefining its hunger.
So in the end, she exorcised the Worm, got resurrected.
Stealing the Traveler was her ticket to her Throne World being a completely isolated pocket universe, hidden from the Witness and whatever harm it may cause.
season of the lost she had to find a way to escape her worm and her sister well she did
In a manner of speaking. She didn't escape Xivu, not truly. If Xivu finds Savathƻn, she'll probably try and kill her.
Are Xivu and the Witness allies?
yes
Yes.
xivu is one of the witness's war generals if i'm remebering correctly
Like a disciple?
She's basically a Disciple in all but name.
don't disciples get special powers from the witness?
._.
Does xivu have those powers? If we kill her will her body explode into a tree?
accully that sounds preety cool now I want to see xivu explode into a tree
that's what rhulk and nezarec did when we killed them in the raids
We've never seen her, nor has she been stated to have such power. But she's also Hive, and her interpretation of the Sword Logic may have her deny the gift regardless.
Hive are weird like that.
oh and calus
nope
why doesn't she just interpret the Sword Logic in such a way that it allows her to get the funky tree powers?
