we would actually go to RoI era Cosmodrome in the D2 Thunderlord questline where we find a small group of Fallen there

it also gets explained that a quarantine was placed over the area which is why Guardians weren't allowed to go there anyways

then Beyond Light came around and we got the Cosmodrome back with no fucking explanation

and it was pre-RoI Cosmodrome which makes even less sense

as for the Moon, we didn't have it in D2 initially

Sathona, Xi Ro, and Aurash were transformed into Savathun, Xivu Arath, and Auryx/Oryx, and set out to kill absolutely fucking everything.
