There are planets smaller than the moon
exactly my point
If the earth was on fire, yes
Bro where are you getting -like from

I said Size
Not Like
Ermm actually its not fire it's nuclear fusion
thats worse
Okay my bad
If the moon is similar in size to another planet
It is planet sized
Please try and say that isn't true, so I can point and laugh
there is a reason why we dont compare our system's planet to those from others

(fire would need oxygen)
WE LITERALLT DO WE CONDTANTLY SEARCH FOR PLANETS SIMILAR TO EARTH
not what i meant 👍
you can find a small enough planet and by your logic anything can be planet size
and also why are we discussing this kind of stuff anyway
your local asteroid 100x smaller than the moon can be planet sized
by your logic
because there is always going to be tiny enough planet somewhere
lmfao
Because the moon is the size of some planets but it isn't planet sized
I think another leak has sprung
This one is in my brain
Cool
Not what I'm talking about
wrong!!! the moon is planet sized because i said so. i win ‼️
SOURCE: it was revealed to me in a dream
okay so our earth can be "moon-sized" if we find large enough moon somewhere in the universe right?
I'm gonna go play terraria because if I keep talking about the moon I'm going to explode
See yall
What if the oceans on earth were plasma at 173673938472719 degrees, then would it be sun-like
im sorry do u know how stars work
i think u mean astronomy
Same thing
real
So back to my question, totally sun-like right
no
Not Really
any sort of lore entry of guardians figuring out raid mechanics?
No. Vault of Glass aside.
i mean
apart from vog
most of the time raid runs happen once cannonically
apart from leviathan i think
and cannonically its always the young wolf with 5 unnamed guardians and they are successful
im assuming the young wolf is us
What was the lore behind getting wicked implement?
Enjoying the new Exotic mission? We have a ~ very ~ important message from our narrative team about it: The 'become swole so you can fight me at your strongest' anime boss vibes was absolutely the intention.
Thank you for your time ✋

Alright? Not a very satisfying answer from the team tbh
Xivu wants the best fight she can get from us. So she gives us a gun that she likes to make it more interesting
Im honestly not sure where she fits in the story. I understand shes basically the general for the witness
But is she really that powerful? Oryx and light bearer savathun were very strong
She's the God of War (God is gender neutral in this case, moreso signifying physical and military might, rather than the conniving and intelligent nature implied by savathun being the Witch Queen)
(At least that's how I see it)
A few seasons ago, Rasputin (skynet if it was a good guy) planned on using his systemwide laser satellite network to fucking disintegrate every hive in the system. Then, it was discovered that doing so would generate so much war, that it would ascend Xivu Arath to a point where she would be unstoppable.
War feeds her, no matter who is dying.
And uh
We do a lot of War
Bungie is bad at scaling
Xivu is on the same tier as Oryx and Sav
And she's been out there a few years longer gaining power from the logic of ransacking the cabal
It ranges anywhere from 10 miles across to "distinct from the earth when viewed in space"
I see the blood temperature has settled lol
Dont
Haha sorry
Xivu is strikingly similar to Khorne
And for both of them, we have no idea how powerful they really are
But the mere presence of their generals is enough to drive mortals mad
The Celebrant nearly killed Osiris with its ascendant plane stink cloud, and SEEING a bloodthirster on the battlefield drives even space marines into a bloodthirsty rage
Who's khorne
Warhammer 40k
Ah
God of War and slaughter
If you've ever heard BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD or SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE
He is the blood god
And sits on the skull throne
Xivu has the black terrace which is just a massive salt flat covered in weapons embedded into the ground
Which side note this would be a baller ass boss arena
That does sound cool
Is Xivu less physically present compared to oryx and savathun or have I just not see her as much
We only heard her like this season
She's been working from home for a while because she's preoccupied slaughtering the remains of the cabal empire
Have we ever seen her
Not a great start
Think about this
Oryx left?
there's also come concept art of her "laying waste" on torobatl
These days Xivu looks sorta like this
Oh, I was trying to guess just off the head, I suppose it doesn't stay the same lol
Here's art of her ransack of Torobatl from one of the grimoire anthologies
they gave her cat ears
Batman
or bat ears actually but catgirl xivu is funnier
Fr
Alright, final answer from left to right.
Savathun, oryx, xivu
Son of a mother fudge
God of War
Xivu is guaranteed to be a bat now
As far as the other two I honestly don't know
Lol
Savathun left and oryx right?
Oryx got the hand
Wait
Before this
The sathona statue
Bunny ears
i love how no one understands that image
their designs before their respective expansions are way too similar
this is still hive savathun
sathona is krill
The statue?
me when i google "sathona statue" and it goes "did you mean athena statue"
well guess what, she matches none of them
Surprised I found that quickly
The second hive in the cutscene is the hive on the right
First one (I think xivu)s head looks different
so we can assume that's oryx?
anyways i skimmed through a video walkthrough and the reason why there's no clear photos of the statue is it's on that weird pedastal
also the ones on the sides in the image have 0 defining characteristics so it's impossible to tell
True
Ah okay i forgotten about that. I just hope she does make an impact when she pops up
Yeah thats my fault for forgetting about that. I just hope bungie makes her a memorable character when she physically appears
Given Immaru's open dislike of Guardians, how do we think we will get him to talk to us and/or get him to not lie to Savathun after bringing her back?
Honestly im emotionally checking out after tfs so unless they botch her in the seasons leading up to it, it will only impact me for like a month
There's a voice line in Darktide that I absolutely adore. It's a sister of battle, who plays as a tanky melee character with a chainsword. One of the most zealous, religious people in the galaxy, who believes in the god-emperor so hard that she can manifest divine miracles from his warp presence.
"BLOOD FOR THE GOD-EMPEROR, SKULLS FOR THE GOLDEN THRONE"

Real
Serious question, but could Goku solo the Destiny verse?
lol
Does Goku have the ability to survive a Thundercrash?
Or a shot of starfire through the chest?
hit goku with suspend and its over
Here is the real question for yall, would an angel from Evangelion survive a fight with a quirked up fireteam of guardians who were goated WITH the sauce?
I don't know what that is
But let's say yes
Have you never seen Neon Genasis Evangelion?
I can't spell btw
No idea what that is
if the red spot on sachiel could be considered a weak point then a few celestial nighthawk hunters should be more than enough
Believe it or not not everyone watches anime
some people have seen the sun
I see the sun. when the fan moves my blackout curtins it hurts my eyes
What about Ramiel?
LOL
Throw a rock at it
Imagine, the final shape raid is just fighting that
Also i have to say that's an absolutely fantastic username
Baroque Obama
thank you😁
reminder that Ana Bray can shoot Golden Gun rounds that travel for light years
Nah man, it had an insane defensive shield and took the entirety of the energy on Japan's power grid to take down. Mayble some T-Crashes or Chaos Reaches would bring the AT field down
Paracausal rock
I mean, that is basically what T-Crash is.
Two rocks
Do seasonal campaigns take place after the main campaign of the expansion?
yes
Does this story have any things that happened that are not canon? Cuz i dont think ive seen any
Dares of Eternity
seems canon to me
depends on how paracausal at fields are
The seasons that release alongside the campaign are at the same time and shortly afterwards
All others are sequential
Pretty much just Dares*.
And whatever happened with the Cosmodrome wall.
Season intro for the first of a year may be subject to taking place at different times
Defiance likely is after LF
Risen Zavala isn't aware of why the Lucent Hive have the light during the opening cutscene
Defiance is initially during LF
We're told to check back in kn Earth
Then, as it progresses, it's later
Pretty much the same for Risen
They're start out simultaneous and then the seasonal story draws ahead due to its length
though week 3 onwards is after the raid
Yes
though their isn't really an effect
Cosmodrome wall? Navota and stuff?
"Cosmodrome wall." which time?
The fact that it is no longer broken from RoI
...rol? Nvm i imagine this being old lore and pretty huge as well imma look it up
Rise of Iron
Fallen broke the Cosmodrome wall and entered the Plaguelands
Plaguelands is the playable area in the cosmodrome correct?
Extra area added in the Rise of Iron expansion
not in D2
Area was quarantined by Saladin centuries ago
Golden Age tech called Siva was hidden in a Seraph Bunker and the Iron Lords opened it
it killed them all
Fallen find Siva
and infuse themselves with it and replicate it
Ahhhhhh i see i see that's the nanotech thingy i see how they connected it
More like quicksilver was derived from SIVA, which used Vex integration as an inspiration
Marl check the thing I sent
Que
Ight got it
I FUCKING LOVE SIVA ❤️❤️🖤🖤❤️❤️🔻🔺🔻◼️🟥⬛️🟥⬛️🔻🔺🔻⬛️🟥
shut the fuck up Siva coper
SIVA is dead, THANK THE HEAVENS
The new subclass is a siva subclass
because people see siva and go ballistic and thats all they talk about
(bungie confirmed sivas story started and ended in rise of iron take that siva fanboys)
clearly not considering quicksilver is a thing
Is "Quicksilver" the official name now? I was hoping for something other than "Nanites". iirc that was all we had in terms of reference.
its been the official name since we found out about it during plunder
That was when the exotic primary released, I think, yeah. I still don't think any characters have refered to it as such, which I found odd.
Silver seems more used
I need a good size estimate of an Eliksni
Do exos have a way to reproduce
Ive seen people say they have a usb kinda thing that gives them the instructions to make a new exo or smth but that's probably jokes

i just wanna know
its the forbidden question
but not as bad as mine
How tf do Eliksni's mate????
So they do the spider dance before attracting mates or just hang out in a bar like "what up"
Ok I like to think this is how Eliksni attract mates
is there an answer for tthis it is very urgent
Ok I legit thought of how Eliksni biology is and I've come to this. Eliksni Resemble crabs more so Im going to go with this route. They need Ether to grow and molt, like a crab, and in order to breed, female crabs but molt, this explains the population drop as the lack of ether is leading to females not being able to molt, and therfor not have smallen. Also Drifter calls Eido crab cakes so that solidifies my theory they are crab based species and therfor NO, you cannot breed with a mommy Eliksni, it is legit impossible if you look at a female crabs anatomy so no, do not the female Eliksni
Also that means the Male Eliksni anatomy is also very weird and If you know crabs you know what im impyling. So yeah, do not the Eliksni in general even though Mithrax is the best.
https://wsg.washington.edu/crabteam/about/newsletter/2021-2/ This describes the anatomy better than I can though
So what is the point of this?
ELIKSNI ARE CRABS
NOT SPIDERS
So their meat might actually be very tasty as well
It is not. But there's not much else to call it.
Ah, yeah. I usually refer to it as such anyway.
You might appreciate the Triton Vice lore tab
"I've read Pahanin's treatise on cephalopods—"
"No, not squids. Crabs, obviously! The perfect organism! The form toward which all life inevitably converges! Even on Nessus—"
"Those are not crabs. Where are you getting all this?"
"The VanNet. Look, the farther out from Earth we get, the more we'll see that crabs are everywhere. Look at the Eliksni!"
"The Eliksni don't have a common ancestor with anything on Earth, so I don't think our taxonomy really applies to the—"
"How big do you think an Eliksni can get? Do you think there's a giant one out there somewhere? …I'm asking Variks."
"Do NOT ask—hey, come back!"
YESSS
Im right
this guy asks if there is a giant eliksni out there while Ultras exist
though we are never given a clear limit on how big an eliksni can get when given an overabundance of Ether
big crabs
Drifter would agree.
That said, Eliksni are still aliens, and the crab analogy can only go so far.
True but its the closets we can go by
It's more of a colloquial comparison than a legitimately biological one. Like how we call Cabal "space rhinos".
Or "space turtles" depending on who you ask.

Actually reproduce? No. But the Exo, as part of their humanisms, do still have and can follow up on natural human needs and desires.
Let's leave it at that, however. Lore or no, it edges close to a rule.
ok so the usb stuff is just a troll
Yeah
But an exos body has "human " organs because when being put in them, they wouldn't react well
Wtf am I reading
this is still better than the conversation about ghosts
what
is there anywhere that has full pdfs of the grimoires in order
I think I saw a website but it only had 1 and 2
oh actually i've got 1-5
i'll send them to you in DM if you don't mind
Yeah that’d be great thanks
🙏
Righto one sec
According to the lore lord shaxx identify as food fluid so he really a burger
?
None of that was comprehensible.
huh?
whats going on
what is that?
Someone tried to suggest ghost reproduction?
no comment
man what the
I mean xur does tell us to neuter or spay our ghosts
Which is a gameshow reference, like all of Dares is.
Fair enough
he also says "wacky obstacle course"
I should not have said anything
UTTERLY BONKERS
i like how the full quote is even funnier
"the horse proclaims it... utterly bonkers"
The mystical horse made the obstacle course silly
It's as canon as I want it to be, which means canonically dinklebot gets mad bitches
big bucks big money is my fav xur line
I like the line where he says you could win a legendary quality heavy machine gun, despite not having a single machine gun in the loot pool
(Also they're light machine guns, the closest thing we have to a heavy one is Heir Apparent and idk if that one counts either)
what would grand overture be considered
From wikipedia, which cites "Medium Caliber Ammunition (MCA) - USAASC" for this section:
The modern definition refers to a class of machine guns chambered in "heavy caliber" ammunition, generally with a minimum bullet diameter of 12mm, a minimum cartridge case length of 80mm and a minimum bullet weight of 500 grain, but below a bullet diameter of 20mm which are considered "medium caliber" ammunition for autocannons.
No clue
Rocket launcher
?
nvm, MISSILE launcher
The alt fire is guided right
Like colossus fist pump missiles
We know guardians can wield them
A titan carrying around a whole ass warthog
Not the Avenger minigun
The whole plane
I see the hive, and I don’t want to loads Lockheed AC-130
Exotic sword with an alternate guard like lament
Lament is special however
When you guard it spins up over 0.5 seconds (which is still slower than irl) and BRRRT's whatever is in front of you
Heavy attack has you lunge forward using it as a paraglider and then slam it into the ground
It's already not getting added to the game, if I want an alternate guard I can have an alternate guard
Had an exotic weapon concept a while back
It's a sword made from a minotaur
The whole thing
It's a minotaur with a piece of rebar through its spine
The lore is that it was made by my d1 hunter, Samuel-4
Who is
Slightly unhinged
Unfortunately the only places I had the whole lore tab written down are Solar Flair's server (left it) and Marecog (gone, reduced to atoms
)
Trust me it's funny I swear
Well, there's Black Talon.
we also got a gun she wanted to give to uldren
That’s Mara
Maya Sov
Mara Sundaresh
God could you imagine if Mara had the personality of a mad scientist and Maya had a royalty complex
How different the timeline would be
aaahhhhhh i can't read
exotic idea
the equalizer
you cannot use abilities except double jump
you kill everything in one hit
but you also get killed in 2 hits
no matter by what source
Wipe mechanic only counts as one hit

i feel like thats too much risk and not enough reward
Think we’ll get something for Maya?
Like we did Clovis?
Skill issue
Marl not being able to read is nothing new unfortunately

You heard ‘em
Yes. His name is marl.
Loonis
What
so am i right in thinking the witness created darkness? or did he find out how to manipulate darkness?
Oh
Well there's a cutscene from this season towards the end that answers all your questions
If you don't own the season Ill post it
the cutscene i just saw was the witness drawing the portal on the traveller
is it after that?
You are doing Lightfall, not Season of the Deep
"Before you can confront The Witness, you must understand it."

The 2/3 months late cutscene that delivered us more answers than the $50 expansion
If this was in the expansion it would have been the second best in D2's history
Instead it's still the second best because holy shit people forget how ass campaigns were before WQ

oh so the witness is essentually all the people the traveller left behind when they found the veil?
or am i understanding it incorrectly
Cause it’s still pretty much hinted that there’s a higher being with how Maya turned haywire and the witness being called the child of darkness etc etc. And I know it wasn’t confirmed to be real, I just find it slightly sad to know now that it doesn’t mean much anymore
sorta
Basically
The Witness' people, Ill call em the Precursors, were blessed by the traveler
But the traveler does not give guidance
Its belief is that given power people will choose to do right
The Precursors got bored and wanted a purpose, and they found the Veil
yeah cause the people who wield light believe they are the good people
They figured out they could link it and the traveler to basically get the ability to edit the universe
The traveler was like
Fuck no
Not doing that
Nope
And left
hence why the vanguard was so pissed when they found out about the hive having the light
So they've been towing the Veil around trying to catch the traveler ever since
The witness is basically the plot of Nier Automata if you’ve ever played it. They sought purpose which the traveler didn’t give, so after the traveler left they decided to merge themselves into one with rituals and eventually became the witness who continuously chased the traveler
yeah because they feel they was betrayed because it left
because it didnt give purpose
Eh nah not betrayed, the “precursors” knew that the traveler could create life, but I believe after studying the Veil also realized how much chaos it can cause in a single heartbeat.
oh yeah yeah they basically realised if it can do all this it could also do terrible things if it wanted
also am i right in thinking the traveller is basically a coloniser
Yes but also, think about the formation of the earth and life on earth
How much death
How much chaos and pain
The Witness basically wants to make a perfect universe
No pain
oh
No death
so he basically seeks immortality for everyone?
Yep, after learning more from it they realized that the traveler is capable of bringing life and or death with no justification for either of them. When they found out about the Veil (traveler’s counterpart) and studied it they discovered the power of guiding the universe into their own perfected shape, the final shape. That was their purpose. The rest Discus has already explained
What we talking about?
oh yeah cause if it wanted it could literally strip all lightbarers of their light without needing a reason
Given how the sword logic is supposedly close to what the final shape is supposed to be, best bet is that the final shape is just a final, simple and eternal form of existence where only the strongest entities can live in
oh
The traveler? Sure, it could, but it prefers to let time run its course
It was proven right with guardians so far
The Warlords were typically really bad people
Good people killed them
Now we have the last city
good point
Venetia returns to lore chat
It’s my monthly visit
Books of Sorrow
[worm familiar] says: listen closely, oh vengeance mine…
"Oh ___ mine"
This is the same thing Ahamkaras use right? Do the words have power or do the worm gods' powers and the ahamkaras' powers come from the same source or what
I believe that phrase has something to do with something called the Anthem Anatheme
It invokes power and ownership or something
This is what Destinypedia has to say
Several paracausal beings utilize, invoke or draw power from the Anthem Anatheme in some way; the most notable examples are the Ahamkara and the Worm Gods, which are theorized by Medusa to have evolved separately in competition for the same ecological niche. Ahamkara feed off of the wishes (which are manifestations of the Anthem Anatheme) of other beings to grow in size, whereas the Worm God Xol transformed himself into a weapon after his physical death in order to fulfill the Anthem Anatheme for the wielder.
Beings who draw power from the Anthem Anatheme are known to use a specific phrase, "O/Oh (subject) mine," when addressing other beings. This is theorized by Medusa to invoke an ontomorphic effect, placing the target in a cage of "o" (activational, specific, appealing, and naming) and "mine" (defining ownership and subordination). [3] Even the Cabal Emperor Calus invokes the Anthem Anatheme by addressing his favorite Guardian as "O champion mine".
That being said, Calus doesn't actually invoke anything in reality. He just says the funny words.
Hi Eris

You can also consider Medusa to be Savathûn, but even Ikora believes these interpretations about Ahamkara and Worm Gods and the Anthem Anatheme are likely accurate.
Truth to Power be like:
- Savathun pretending to be Eris pretending to be Medusa pretending to be Dul Incaru pretending to be Savathun pretending to be Dul Incaru pretending to be Quria pretending to be Medusa pretending to be Eris```
Dovadah!
oh shit it's you Tempest
Indeed
Who is this Medusa
Medusa claimed to be a Warmind who tasked itself with watching over the Dreaming City, but it turned out to be a mind created by Quria to reach out to us
keep in mind that this is all not true given the context that this is from Truth to Power, but it is what is presented to us
Warmind knew of the dreaming city?
not Rasputin
Medusa claimed to be a warmind
Ah
Truth to power is just savathun breaking the 4th wall and spewing bullshit at us
Okay so, two pics.
- Possibly the Veil? This is a screenshot from the D2 vanilla campaign, before you wake up after being knocked off by Ghaul.
- This is in the Prochecy dungeon.
So the traveler and the nine have been pushing us towards the same goal the whole time?
Or just clever foreshadowing?
prophecy honestly doesn't have too much actual prophesizing going on
I don't see anything
the nine aren't omnipotent
truth be told the only thing we get out of prophecy is literally just their collective opinion and it's not even a hot take
it's a sentiment people like drifter have had since forever
What is the K1 anomaly
Mayhaps it was hidden in plain sight the whole time?
i doubt it
similar to the artifact that we recovered from the end of the Shadowkeep campaign
it's honestly really just an "illuminati confirmed!" to think everything with a circle and a triangle is referencing lightfall
also
you know this cutscene was just showing us the new D2 subclasses right?
that's the sentinel shield
such is life

Yeeep.
Sorry just noticed it was already noticed
everyones going stir crazy until the Final Shape stream
Bungies doing the "no season info until it launches" thing again
Dude seriously.
I want to know what we're getting into, bungie.

Show me a wallpaper for all I care, give me something!
my pc wallpaper
All your gonna get is MSund12 till the reveal lol
i still don't get the hubbub for one specific maya copy
Mfw MSund12 has existed for years. 😔
oxta=Taox
?
Theres a lot of hive references in the cabal high ups
what about it
The last reference we had with MSund12 was it poking at info relating to oxa
And a lot of lore we have on it has it always featuring the Hive
is the ice powers from the clovis confidential logs stasis
Why is he giving me the disgusted look
he looks at me every day
I'd need the specific reference, but very likely, yes.
sword world = real world
the non-sword world is the throne world/ascendant plane?
My answer is the same
Very likely, yes
There isn't really anything else it could be
What?
Sword World is another name for a Throne World
Well, Ascendant Plane, anyway
they also got "sword stars"
dammit i just got an idea but i don't have photoshop
basically just the outline of a plane filled with a png of crota's oversoul
ascendant plane
“Come forth, sister wizards,” called Ir Halak. “We need you.” Ir Anûk pulled a sword star out of the sky. Together the wizards charged it with killing power and made an annihilator totem, which they used to smash the V
someone do this
I make my memes on my phone on PicCollage lmao
Which is super limiting ofc
I got pirated photoshop
Anyone has any idea what subclass and/or exotic armor shayura preferred?
Shadebinder
She was a Praxic. Probably Dawnblade.
Oh she was? I didn’t know that actually
Methinks you may be in the wrong channel
Yeah that happens lmao
My fault
Why do you say that?
I’m an enemy to my own schedule
Coffee scroll?
Huh. I’ve never heard of that before
Might be an aus thing
Cookie
Good enough
hey i'm having a really bad time rn mentally, can someone please give me some fun or goofy lore to read
The Festival of the Lost lore is goofy
Watching Glint and then Eido trying to decipher the Headless Ones and Halloween is funny
thats not ghost theatre?
The Ghost Community Theatre entry is part of Ghost Stories I think
you read the dance party lore
omfg i forgot about that
If you want the opposite of helping mental health, try aspects
Book
Cuttteeeee🤭
Wholesome hive gods
Not exactly the term I'd use
Based on how the guardian defeated Oryx the taken king, how is it that the guardian got defeated so effortlessly at the start of the red war?
We lost it before or after our ghost was curb stomped?
Before. That's the whole reason we lost.
Ah makes sense
☝️ 🤓
But no
We will not
Anyways
What y’all think next seasons sub plot will be?
Besides savathun and xivu
Maybe iron banner since Saladins involved and bear armor?
There's gonna be a ton of character interactions
Saint Osiris Saladin Caiatl Crow etc
Cow thing
osiris talking face to face with savathun:
Osiris holding Saint back during the convo
I know they’ll do that
Because modern bungie
as if he wouldn't be helping osiris beat her up
he's pissed at the mere idea that we need her
Osusris is usually smart and stuff so if feel like he’d accept it before Saint
wait i entirely misread what you said
haha
thought you said saint would hold osiris back, i may be stupid
Honestly ik were resurrecting Savathun next season but I feel like the Vex are going to be a major focus too this season or the one after
i was about to go on some cope make believe tangent about s23
Could be both really
Cause unless Bungie makes up a lot of bullshit, Savathun revival will literally be dumping it into her throne world and signaling Immaru for parley
Savathun them directs us to grab lot of Vex stuff to help open the portal perhaps. Asher did make a simulation of the Veil in the vex network
Durring this moment in the lore, it mentions Zavala being overcharged with light.
Did that have effect on his super? Or is this like the true lore accurate power of a thunder crash?
This is definitely due to being overcharged with the Traveler’s Light
Aww. I hoped the power came Atleast a lil close. Like maybe 3 thundercrashes would be able to break the main tower in half? Or is it far from it?
The power of the super may full well depend on the proficiency and discipline of the one using it so
There probably isn’t a consistent answer
But destroying a structure that massive alone? Yeah that’s only because of the Traveler
@deft flume Ill post some examples of regular Tcrashes
Oo, okii. tyy
Fancyy :o
There's also this
A tcrash fly by >.>
Ghost Fragment: Thorn 2
u2's Dredgen Yor. Shin Malphur and Jaren Ward are mentioned at the top, though. The other 3 guys were lightless. Why were Shin and Jaren mentioned? Cause of their relation to Yor?
ah nevermind, still reading grimoire 1
those 3 guys: Brevin, Trenn, Mel
so- by ressurecting savathun, the traveler technically saved us
Destiny verse solo's
Why can’t we have several Ghosts
Like say ours gets destroyed
Why can’t another one just come along
they never elaborate on that
but we just assume that 1 ghost 1 guardian is the rule
you lose your ghost, you won't get another one
although, it can be argued that a single ghost can have another guardian
but we never really see that
Okay and how does our Ghost getting injured affect our personal Light? Does that mean that Ghosts control/channel all of our Light and that we technically have none of our own? And even without a Ghost we’d still have Darkness powers within us?
Ah ok
Darkness subclasses seems independent from the Light, though it seems that only Lightbearers (or former ones) can see Strand
Ghosts are also our connection to the Traveler (and the Paracausal powers it gives us)
while I'm not sure if them being damaged can hinder that connection, they can dematerialize into pure Light and overcharge us
sad we never see it ingame and that it only got mentioned once in lore
They tends to have weird "one-offs" like that in a few places
Well isn’t that how that works?
Like when Sundance was destroyed
Something happened to Cayde and his Light
Same with Zavala in that one cutscene
Theres a ghost around that can "merge" with its Guardian Exo Moss-2
well yeah, they get destroyed, no more Light for you
Where that psion tried to assassinate him
the proper term would be "possessed by his ghost on command"
In that cutscene with Zavala it was just shot with a regular bullet or something right
Then Zavala had some reaction with his Light
it was not a bullet
it was a Light Suppression device
If your talking the cutscene where Crow saves Zavala... that was a mini traveler cage
made from the same tech the Traveler Cage was made from
Oh mb I’m remembering it wrong
And before you ask Sundance was also hit by a special bullet
The cage tech itself is interesting given the implication that "non-paracusal" tech can nullify ghosts
Praxic agents also are referenced to have "arc bands" that can capture and shut down ghosts non-lethally
though Ghosts are capable of getting around these bands
not quite escape, but being able to get on comms while captured
Yeah, just an undicussed lore topic with the implications
Is it possible for a guardian to share their light with a human?
Or anyone for that matter?, cause I know light can be imbued into weapons right
the radiant buff can be applied to Lightless
Hmmm
I do have a question
If let's say I was just human in the destiny universe, is there any possible way for me to achieve a power from light or darkness to reach a power level similar to a guardian?
You can use Stasis
but even with Stasis, I'm sure a Guardian will mop the floor with your ass
What about hive magic
Elsie Bray, a Lightless Exo, can use it
Eris, a former Guardian, can also use it
True but it would cool to see
in terms of Light subclasses and rezzing and such, you will need a Ghost
not quite certain on Strand though
Soo guardians who lose their light, it would be wise to learn stasis since it relies on a different source of power?
dialogue suggests that only Guardians can see it while Osiris, a former Guardian, can as well
🧐 hmm
Dammit
Unless
Someone built a device to see it
Ghaul was able to harness Light without a Ghost, but it didn't end well for him
Damn I forgot how that ended
I would love to see someone who is regular gaining abilities similar to a guardian
Cause honestly the last city could use something like that, granted guardians are insanely powerful
closest to that would be Shin, but he was a former guardian
seemingly
I'd argue that they would still have considerable strength left over
Zavala was able to wrestle a gun out of a Cabal legionary's hands while Lightless during Red War
I would also think so but fleeting
Zavala is also just built diff
Aha
But yeah it's fun to think about
And that doesn't even touch on exotic weapons
Some of them boast some amazing abilites themselves and to the welder
Wardcliff had doomsday capabilities
This, er, rustic device was once an experimental axion emitter, which sprays weird particles to light up the basement of the universe. Right here I've coupled the emitter to some catacaustic quark-gluon coils, which will not, due to my scrupulous safety checking, create a strangelet that devours the Earth. I cook up some pain in there, the microverse decays, and the result comes out here. If it doesn't work, well, please name the crater after me.
excerpt from Wardcliff Coil lore tab
Although I'm more interested in the soldiers that interact with the guardians the guardians themselves
We need a show or something man
Arcane-style show but about Ana Bray
maybe even adapt the Warmind comics and Legacy parts one anf two for it
Yeah that would be fire
Or the dark ages with lord shaxx would be a good start
TBF, we causally have a gun that fires black holes somewhere I think
Grav lance
I'd watch any destiny lore based show
*other than the lightfall ce calus book
Anyone got a weird feeling about the zavala voice change? Not a bad thing but as in it will take some getting used to
Of course it will
Nothing new for a voice change
Hell even if Keith could do a perfect 1:1 of Zavala there would still be some tiny differences that people would pick up on
Heck
Sometimes get "Deja vu" at hearing voice actors in other games
Nolan Norths everywhere
we would of gotten a gun that can shoot across the whole galaxy if Elsie wasn't such a bitch about her grandfather's work
there are so many lore wise powerful guns
but in gameplay nuh uh
like wardcliff now is a bunch of small balls that do 2 damage
and graviton blackhole barely does more than the regular bullets
were there any named exo iron lords other than felwinter?
If there's anything in specific ur curious about, ping me and I'll explain it poorly. @starcalled
Apparently an iron lady named Ashraven/Tinasha-3 existed
A Minerva-class refit commemorating the legendary Warlock Tinasha-3, known to her peers in the Iron Banner as Ashraven.
That doesn't mean she was a historical Iron Lord, only that she partook in the Iron Banner.
There's a second loretab listed under Ashraven titled Dormant SIVA: Iron Lords 2.3
idk seems likely but it's not explicitly stated anywhere
Ashraven’s cutting her way toward the bunker. Says we should meet her there. She’s got an idea – thinks we can hole up in there, maybe get those guns working. Draw off enough of the enemy to give Jolder’s group a shot ~consume enhance replicate~.
It’s a bad idea, but it’s the best bad idea we have.
~SIVA.MEM.??0311
Good find. Yes, that would put her as an Iron Lord, that's Site 6. The Ironsbane.
the one where they all died?
That's the one.
idk about indomitable
The lightbulb has a gun
Help
Neptune is a gas giant planet so is neomuna just floating in the clouds? How does does this work
gas giants don't have a solid surface
Video game magic

Terraforming

Uh, yeah
idk if this is lore or just a flat out theory but, calus and whoever accepted the power offered by the witness has to be revived for later because their death looks lik they are in a stasis type of stance so going off of that would that mean that the witness is saving them for a later battle i.e The Final Shape
Yeah what Eris said, Neptune was apparently terraformed by the Traveller
And I guess that diamond rain plus Traveller terraforming made a carbon based rock surface (hence the diamonds embedded on Neptune rock)
Do you mean the darkness tentacles thingy?
yea
Afaik that's just how those people, empowered by the witness, die
It's not a form of stasis
Def wait for one of the lore nerds to come in here and spew facts tho
ok
ok
That or it was terraformed by humanity
The Traveler didn’t touch every world, and for whatever reason part of seems to remember it didn’t touch Neptune
I could be wrong, so I’m chasing up the answer rn
👍
I'm very sure it was mentioned that the Traveller did in Lightfall but I could be wrong
That last Veil Containment left me with a resounding "That's it?"
Unless they want to pursue Chioma "making contact with the Vex" as some kind of actual plot point
They said they are doing another one at the start of S22 and a second one at the start of S23
So we should get a proper conclusion
That's true, and considering the next one will only be next week not like they need to be conclusive now
I was sort of expecting SOME kind of "oh shit" moment that would foreshadow one of the next two seasons after all that and this definitely didn't strike me as that, considering next season has to do with Sav and I doubt the following one would be related to the Vex
But maybe this is all leading to whatever they want to do with the Vex post-FS
Hell maybe the Season OF Final Shape will be a Vex season and this leads into that
There's definitely stuff you can do with the idea of MSund12 showing up on Neomuna and Chioma seemingly pulling an Asher to enter the VexNet to try to find her
What is it with Titans and wanting to knock Felwinter's head off his "bony shoulders"
Bro must be built like a bobblehead if people wanna do it that badly
Wonder what happened to the solar titan that crushed crow
They're just mad that a book nerd can shouldercharge too
nothing, probably
I mean people like Shaxx have beaten mortal people to death for trying to survive, so I wouldn’t imagine some random would be punished for killing who they thought was Uldren Sov
Fair
Hexagon
Hive
The unknown guardian that killed camus, who is he? Did we ever learn about him?
who is Camus again?
I got no results on Ishtar
Malfeasance quest
you mean Callum?
yeah, we know who killed him
Who was it?
it was Shin Malphur
also, Callum did not actually kill is own Ghost
the entire thing was an elaborate set-up to encourage people not to go evil when seeking out Darkness
of course, Callum's ghost has to not rez him since it is part of the plan
So everything was a lie?
which worked
Shin was doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes
to ensure that the next generation of guardians can use Light and Darkness together
What about the thing drifter said? That some guardians have been hunting his group and he is the last one surviving?
Oh so he wasnt just a person in a story he was actually huge
Callum broke off from the main Shadows of Yor claiming they were "cowards" and such
which was part of his plan with Shin
Callum would pretend to go evil and crazy so Shin Malphur (who was famous for hunting down corrupt guardians) would go after him and paint him on the side of a rock
Ahhh makes way more sense now
he would also destroy an already dead ghost to make people think he killed his own ghost
you'll need to read the following lore books for the full story:
A Drifter's Gambit - Shin Malphur meeting the Drifter and helping him set up Gambit
Letters from a Renegade - Letters Shin sent to us
Book of Unmaking - Details the start of the Shadows of Yor
For Every Rose a Thorn - Combination of the previous two which reveals that Shin is secretly the leader of the Shadows
Nothing Ends - Like the last one, but it gives us more insight on what Shin was doing the entire time.

was Rasputin's name not common knowledge back then
Collapse does a lot of things to once avalible knowledge
people don't even know what pineapples are
Really would want to take a crack at Neomunas Archives to get a solid timescale and restore all the knowledge lost over the years
They managed to clone out Tigers before Calus parked his ship on the zoo
does anyone actually know what went down during the reef wars 💀
reading the 2nd grimoire and it is throwing 1 million bajillion names at me
How many deep sighs were there in all the veil containments?
all i remember was there being this dreg named weksis who led an assault
yeah my eyes are glazing over reading this 💀 weksis was a badass though
weksis the meek or something
Atleast 2
From calus and from somewhere else
if the witness uses darkness, why didn't they use strand to fuck us
Strand is an output of the Veil
seemingly only in Neomuna
So the Witness wouldn't have power over it
also Witness just uses Darkness
they aren't the Darkness
I don’t think that’s exactly the case
The Weave is everywhere
The Veil allowed us to perceive concentrations of it
the physicalish form of it
the ability for it to exist within this plane
When we make our connection with the Weave, and strengthen our ability to use it, we are then able to use the Weave anywhere
Strand is about letting go
Go with the river
That’s fundamentally counter to the witness’ entire ideology
That’s why the witness gave us stasis, which is based on absolute control
We also learned of strand because of our proximity to the veil
Yes but the witness was literally towing the veil around for billions of years
I may be stupid, kinda forgor
I mean I think the reason might be because the Witness in its entirety is against strand’s aspects of going with the flow and relinquishing control
so much so that it’s simply incapable of even perceiving strand
I’m saying that as an explanation to strand being from veil proximity
even with the witness having it for ages and never encountering strand before
I think there’s something we should consider here
The Weave may not have specifically existed in the form we perceive it as before we arrive on Neomuna
I mean we might learn it’s due to Savathun shenanigans during her limited ownership of it
who knows
I think it’s in Warp and Weft that Osiris proposes that Strand’s relation to consciousness could mean that we shaped it into the form we saw it as
And that if, for example, the Neomuni had been capable of perceiving it first, would they have seen it as cosmic water?
Lemme find the quote
iirc the cloud striders don't see it unless we use it
So normal humans can't see Strand abilities?
Strand is everywhere. Its just much much easier to use and feel on Neptune and in Neomuna in general due to the proximity to the Veil
Give me 1 sec
If Strand had been shaped through the lens of Neomuna, surely it should have been some cosmic water instead, something that flows and gives way only to rise again…
But this power that has never before been used in this way came to one Guardian first, and I conjecture that they may have unconsciously given it form.```
They could see Strand once we shape it into use. But they can’t perceive the Weave like we were able to
—
Neomuna is a wonderful place for a Hunter to run. This Hunter, specifically.
Here the activity of life runs close to the surface—like an invisible river, like a migration of birds, like the moment of breathless motion just before the lightning strikes. Here Strand twines through his fingers, strong as a rope and just as flexible, and all he ha...
When we went to Neomuna and saw the wavy sorta Strand lines across the sky and the tangles of threads we interacted with, those would have been imperceptible to non-Lightbearers
Strand is everywhere
That's what i figured but i wasn't sure
Are ghost shells a part of the ghost itself or is it more like clothing
Ghost shells are shells and can be interchanged around
There is a specific kinda core you can see shared across Ghost shells, and what’s different is what’s around the core
That middle orb bit
the last Veil Containment entry got me thinking, did Chioma really let the Vex drag her to simulation hell just to see Maya again?
It's a pretty big break of the "letting go" aesop heh
it is pretty dark though given what the Vex did to that one Maya simulation they recaptured
if the Vex didn't outright kill Chioma, then she would of gotten one of the worst fates anyone could get in the series
Anyone keen to do lore readings in vc?
as in?
I dunno, just getting on vc and just reading lore
for a stream?
not for a stream. Just for shibs and gibs
Well if anyones keen, I be reading lore in vc if yah need a bedtime story
I back
I be reading the lightfall booklet thingymabob
Got nothing much going on so thought it'd be fun
which one
because one of them is not at all a "bedtime story"
Wasn't there a scene where Ikora was at the enclave with no helmet? How she no die lol
Why would she die?
A scene, yes.
She was also a vendor there for the entire campaign.
If you were unaware, despite the desert reclaiming the planet, Mars was in fact terraformed by the Traveler.
Mars doesn't exactly have a survivable atmosphere
Sorry bad connection I sent that like 4 min ago
That's cool, I didn't know that lol, so it's survivable? Or is it like the same as earth
Load up the first mission and look below the Lure
That's a Cradle, same as the one on Io. It's where the Traveler was when terraforming the world.
In fact the very first Destiny trailer showed the Traveler terraforming Mars
At the beginning of what... actually, before the Golden Age
But yes it's survivable
That's why the time rifts in Mars show cities and crops
Why are we no longer living on Mars? Does that have to do with the "We've stepped into a war with the cabal on Mars" line
Also what's a cradle, is it technology from the traveler?
place is kinda destroyed
In the years since the Collapse, much of Mars has returned to the desolation that came before the Traveler. But buried beneath its surface are traces of the glimmering mega-cities that once sprawled across the planet, swallowed by dunes and Darkness.
Mars didn't survive. Earth did, because the Traveler was at Earth.
And you saw what became of us
Even then we nearly went extinct
Seems to be a... byproduct of being the focal point of the terraforming
Yeah, if Guardians are fighting this hard to protect a single city, there’s no chance we could defend interplanetary colonies
And that’s pretending we had the resources and time to build habitable colonies
We can physically see the Cradles on Mars and Io
Well, we could see the cradle on Io
What's lo
Was the teraforming like the world engine in superman 😂
What specifically happened with the collapse, I never knew the specifics all I know is it was a collapse lol
Pyramids arrived in Sol headed by Nezarec
caused havoc that ended civilisation within the system
The Black Fleet arrived in Sol. A lot of funky shit happened due to them, like natural disasters and plagues and other apocalypse events
Titan got stretched like an egg and then had its methane ocean dropped back on itself when it was righted iirc
That seems disastrous
One of our old patrol zones. We explored there from D2 Vanilla to BL. Moon of Jupiter.
I... don't know what that is
space magic
No beam that I'm aware of
Look up the D1 trailer
You get to see the beginning of the terraform
The first rains of Mars
Ooo, will do
Always gives me chills
The way the music swells as you see the rain
Was it a destructive teraforming
Probably not
I was kinda hoping it was like that beam the traveler recently shot but straight at the planet
The beam was likely a more destructive but quicker method
Nope
because the witness and disciples are all a bunch of nerds the way they end civilizations is all biblical and godlike
massive storms, earthquakes, tsunamis, plagues
and casually destroying stars
in the case of locations like fundament or titan, which are predominantly made of liquid, the black fleet will pull the liquid so far out of its normal shape that when it comes crashing back down, it causes a massive wave that wrecks everything on the surface
also known as a "god wave"
