exotic is mostly just a gameplay term
Grasp of avarice says otherwise
basically they're considered to be particularly unique or special, lore wise anyway
vast majority are one of a kind
I see
anyway engrams are basically zip files that work for real life objects
But with multiple people using the same exotic it doesnât become one of a kind
Grasp of Avarice is the semi-canonisation of an old D1 bug, the loot cave. It has a conflicting audio/environmental story and has a giant skull cave.
It is not standard lore
Exotic Engrams do exist, but it very well may simply be the quality of encryption used in them.
that's what i mean it's a gameplay thing
majority of exotics are one of a kind, and we're the person who owns them
Three Guardians all using Lumina doesn't mean there are three Luminas, for example
There's only one, and that's mixed with gameplay
there's only a few exotics that have more than one, really
stuff like suros regime are just mass produced products
vex mythoclast because raiding the vault just became a thing to do after we cleared it for the first time
I actually have access to a list of Exotics specifically listing whether they're unique or not
i just think a few of the season pass exotics would be unknowns
like most barely have any lore as is
Centrifuse would be classified as Multiple as it is part of a collection of weapon prototypes
what's the deal with that one anyway
What, Centrifuse?
i just wouldn't think a golden age prototype would be made of what looks like wood
Engineers from the New Pacific Arcology diverted attention from some prior projects onto weapon development.
I don't know why it's wood, though.
I was more of the mind that it was corroded metal
Like an old rudder; which considering Centrifuse seemed to be a failed experimental generator that looks vaguel rudder-like, maybe it was meant to float in the methane sea to produce energy for the Arcology?
Maybe because wood is both solid and not very conductive
I'm sure golden age would have had alternate materials but they may not have been readily available when Centrifuse was developed?
we have readily available materials for that right now
it's called
plastic
lore question
how much microplastics are inside the standard human in the current destiny day
and by extension how much are in guardians
How long has it been since the traveler left the eliksni?
Also the witness was created more than billion years ago same with the hive as we know it. After that isnt there a huge gap in history without anything happening?
there is a huge gap of our knowledge
the entire universe didnt just pause
lmao
^
the hive were doing a lot of shit
No i know i mean like didnt anything happen? But ig youre right we are missing a ton of info
Oh true
there's statues on the dreadnaught predating the earth itself by like billions of years
hive are crusty mfs
Do we have any idea how long its been since the traveler left the eliksni?
Thousand + years
The hive have too much lore idk about and its annoying
i mean that would require how much time has passed since the golden age started and then some
Oh ight
True true
we just know that mithrax is only a few centuries old and that's considered to be young for eliksni
Oh i didnt know that
he was a hatchling by the time the eliksni first arrived in the system
none of them come from the solar system
@tawdry wigeon I think you vastly misunderstand the scale that destiny operates at
we're just a backwater set of planets and moons that the traveler happened to have an epiphany with
The Cabal alone controlled dozens of systems
eliksni in their hayday colonized multiple systems too
I def do yea i cant really comprehend how powerful they are in general
The Hive slaughtered the Ecumene who were an interstellar empire on a scale significantly larger than even the Cabal
power is a bit of a poor thing to measure on
They never appeared in d1 either?
Nope
how would they appear in d1 if they were slaughtered billions of years ago
They were slain billions of years ago
Tai shibeth was another vast empire slaughtered by the Hive
I know i cant understand just how they do all these shi in a universal setting
Jesus
Hive really are terrifying
And we are beating them like nothing
The Witness is plausibly trillions of years old
did you happen to forget our first interaction with them
We don't know how long the cycle lasted
well both of our first interactions
D1?
there's the moon colony being picked off during a mass outbreak of pyramid induced madness
and then there's the great disaster
Battle of Mare Imbrium ^
almost nothing in the universe started in D1 besides our character specifically
Thousands of Guardians dead
Nvm
So nvm then they do be strong
But then we didn't know how to beat them
Now we do no?
To some extent
it's entirely circumstantial
the entire reason we could even get at Crota was due to something completely out of our control that happened ages ago
I see i see
the way their power structure (metaphorically and literal) works is just also really exploitable
it's a massive crutch that's the only way we can make real progress against them but it doesn't work for ones like savathun or xivu arath
@ember storm do you remember the lore tab where the xivu/oryx knights got into an argument and killed themselves
that's what i was referring to yes
I saw a vid once explaining a bit of the hive power scales in ranks and oh boy it made me confused af
Where is that from?
i mean it's almost completely 1:1 to how it is ingame
thrall are at the literal bottom of the chain
acolytes are barely above them
The siblings ig killed themselves a shi ton of times
then they either get promoted to knights or wizards depending on their jobs
there's also some high ranking acolytes too
ogres are just mindless monsters
royal family is up at the top
Thrall -> acolyte -> Knight/Wizard -> ascendant hive
Revenant acolytes?
and then the worm gods above that
i already said that
Especially the huge ones from the strike
they're not part of the structure
Ogres are really fucked up
they're mindless monsters
Oh my bad sorry
created solely as living weapons
I see
anyway the high ranking acolytes i mean are the ones like the deathtongue choristers or the weaponsmiths
Charged with Hive sorcery, Ogres are abominations of flesh and rage, unleashed from the deepest Hive tunnels as engines of destruction. Apocryphal lore suggests that Ogres undergo terrible transformations as they grow - agonizing rituals that gift them with might and cunning.
basically if you're shitty at your job or just born at the wrong time you get two paths
Bro even ogres have lore omg
cursed thrall which just makes you a suicide unit
or an ogre which makes you constantly in pain
i mean
everything has lore
it's not like ogres don't exist in the universe
Yea thats true
The Books of Sorrow alone have 50 tabs
About the ether monsters sorry i somehow forgot their name my mind is blank. What about them?
Yea thats mad
Scorn?
Yess
@tawdry wigeon Uldren Sov found a dying fallen archon who had been shot by a golden gun and wished for him to live, which Riven granted
Thus creating the first Scorn, Fikrul, the Fanatic
jumpscare
Plated vandal
I just love how bungie ties in diff characters together to create a completely new thing
Like with uldren and the scorn
So cool
Was it at the jail? I don't recall if that happened in the jail before forsaken or mid story
I think it was at the jail
Yea
Wish dragons
Although they are all shapes and sizes
Some of their bones can be found on io (I think?)
no
Fikrul didn't happen at the prison
The scorn did
Fikrul was out when Guardians were hunting down fallen mining crews
Ohhhhh okay okay okay i see alright
No goes for what?
Fikrul is the only scorn with a functional brain
Him, Uldren, and Fikrul's gang (the Barons from Forsaken), ran all over the reef until they were captured by Cayde-6 and Petra Venj
Note that the Scorn Barons were not actually Scorn
They were regular Fallen
arent most of the barons regular fallen? i swear only like 2 were scorn in the campaign and 1 was scornified after
Machinist was turned into scorn afterwards pretty sure
The rest were just Eliksni
Though there is record of non-eliksni using/consuming Ether
Drifter mentions it I think and there is an Awoken Lightbearer who rezed on the Reef and was made to fight in gladiator style pit who injects it
Ahh i see i got it alright thanks
thatâs just further explanation to how the only race compatible with it are Eliksni
to quote drifter:
You ever try any Ether? Heh⌠haha⌠hahaha. Yeah, don't. Wild stuff.
And that's coming from the man who has eaten Hive God
Sorry what??????
Drifter has eaten many things
Listen to his intros in gambit
Plenty of them have him mention he's eaten the other races.. or is planning to
I joke that Drifters freezer is where we are keeping Savathuns corpse
Eris was dissecting it... and Drifters been getting closer to Eris as of late..
snackathun
Indeed
Has he actually eaten a hive god
Iâm familiar with the gambit voice line but that doesnât mention a god
It does sound like the sorta shit Drifter would pull as well
If he could yeah
Oryxâs body is on titan right?
Based on the ghosts of the deep lore
Well, not any longer. The Hidden have secured it.
Ah damn
No snacks for drifter
So we now have savathuns and oryxâs bodies
The hidden could start a wild trophy case
Drifter could just put on some stolen Hidden armor and sneak in
Thatâs true he wouldnât have much problem doing that
I bet weâll get a title called hidden at some point
Is that a new ship?
Actually, donât answer that
He did it at a vanguard meeting, heâll do fine
What is her name, the Awoken Lightbearer that rezed on the Reef after Crow and was forced to fight as a gladiator
She straight up injected ether though
Idk how to say this but does savathun and xivu arath work together or have the same motives
Like do they even like each other?
New???
Not at all
Drifter and Eris has been a thing for ages
best destiny ship imo
No
One is a fanatic to sword logic
The other is a complete heretic
In English plz đ
they like sword logic
Xivu Arath is very religious and Savathun doesnât want to be
they had a hard falling out over it a while ago
Trihn
that is as english as it gets
honestly just give us a full on season of the hidden
that could kinda fit in with savathun's return
although i think season of the cunning would also be a great title for that
Trihn

The video show like person wielding the arc kill refuge that in running. That is Zavala or just video missed some part?
I think you should actually watch the video
It clearly shows Zavala and it shows him protecting the civilians
he leaps over the civilians and fist of havocs the Fallen chasing them
Had to slow it down and saw the things have 4 hand like fallen
They are Fallen
I was watching the new version, possible some second is cut out.
New... version?
They one that Bungie upload as Archive ?
It shouldn't be a new version, just a new upload.
Try this for the actual cutscene
The new upload cutscrene reduced some part where fallen are chasing the refuge, hence cause some missconcept for me
Thanks You.
Is there a place I can read the contents of the grimoires in order? Tryna get the feel of each one before buying one
I don't know if anyone has listed them as such, though there are some digital versions for a couple of the Grimoires.
I'm new to Destiny lore, and if I understand correctly Exo are basically human consciousness uploaded into robots. Do we know if the voices they have as Exp are what their voices sounded like when they were human? Or can Exo like, modify the sound of their voice however they like?
actually wait hang on i have all of them digital
While an Exo voice could in theory be modified, at a standard it would be a mimicry of their original Human voice. Not only is it a method of identity both for the Exo and those who know them, but it would assist with combating DER by helping the Exo feel at home in their body.
Whether an Exo tries to modify their voice later into their life is probably dependant on the Exo and whether they have a technician capable enough to work on Golden Age proprietary tech, as well as whether they're comfortable enough with their own sense of self to even consider the change.
I think that given DER exists, changing their voice would be an issue
Maybe a Lightbearer exo could find a way but then you run into the issue of how would their ghost rebuild them? Would they have to "fix" their voice each time they rezed?
Can't say for sure, but possibly.
Voice changing could actually help mitigate DER if they had initial dysphoria with their human body
so like
when the collapse happened, did some animals just go extinct or something. i've never seen like a cat or something in destiny
and the only real dog i recall is that one robot one from seraph
Dogs survived the collapse
A guardian had one called Luna
Who died on the moon
You can visit their grave near the portal entrance to GOS
btw one of the stupidest fucking things you can do
is bring your dog to the hive infested moon
i see i see
wonder if anything important went extinct
Pineppales
is that true or are you joking
i see
Gone long enough for Ghost to think they were a hybrid between pine trees and apples
The Arboretum's crop yields: Twenty tons of pomefigs. Twelve tons of kiwicumbers. Twelves tons of pineapples. Pine... apples? What a weird idea of a fruit.
Bungie trolling us with future fruit.
Pomefigs i kinda get, but if they made kiwicumbers I can see why they could make pine-apples, both are equally weird flavor combinations
Kiwi banana is surprisingly good
You'd be surprised
How surprisingly good the surprising combo is
It's such a surprise that the surprise combo is so surprisingly good
The Guardian decrypts the twelfth research log from Veil Containment's archive.
**
Chioma Esi: Chioma Esi, log... whatever. The Warmind has reactivated. Our base on Hyperion detected network activity. He found us. Classified our location "Nefele Stronghold". We already estimated that Rasputin has attempted remote interference with our network...
Latest Veil containment
There are a bunch in the Tower. You can see them in game.
Lakshmi-2 was on the trip Stargazer did where rasputins files on Neomuna were deleted
Based on the wording.... they never intended to reestablish contact at all. It was a mission directly intended to purge any info that could lead to the Veil.
It is, but like. Cucumber and Kiwi. Thatâs like, too much water content for any flavor to exist
Lol
So now we know how Lakshmi-2 got to Earth and who's behind Neomuna's conspiracy
Plus the crunchiness of cucumber would conflict with kiwi
We do have wheat and either pigs or cows since Ramen has survived the societal collapse of the Collapse
According to cayde in a d2 launch trailer, the red legion wiped out puppies
Heâs exaggerating there, plus he calls Ghaul Gary
Which means Luna was never real and Luna's Howl was a publicity stunt to embezzle donations
Oh 100% I just think it's funny
Very fair and that is also very funny that it was a marketing stunt in some universe out there
The paraverse is eternal after all
Retcons aren't retcons, expansions are just sequels set in universes where it was always true
who needs dogs when you have a perfectly good doghive

I hate the concept of doghives
do you prefer the delicious product of cow things instead?
Nezquik tea
Or the cow thing coffee
so we all agree savathun is probably gonna betray us at some point after we resurrect her, right
I donât know
I assume Eris and the Hidden are pretty competent
Plus she doesnât really have a choice
i mean, she still has an army, or at least i'm pretty sure the hive lightbearers still take immaru's orders. and she is, famously, pretty slippery
you know, god of cunning and stuff
that's true i guess
but we did kill her, and we're only bringing her back basically on the condition of constant surveillance. imagine a guy kills you and you're resurrected more or less so they can keep u hostage for information
im betting youd be pretty pissed
and the reason why Lakshmi was sent with Stargazer was purely because Chioma couldn't stand looking at her
but the timeline seems a little weird to me
since the Fallen first appeared not very long after the Collapse
and the Burning of London was pretty much the first thing they did
and we also know that Lakshmi was there when it happened
the fallen burned london? maybe they're not so bad /j
and you also have to account for Rasputin going to sleep and waking himself up
Yeah..
Thinking its a retcon on Bungies part
Per Stargazers report we had Dark Age Era Warlords already present when they showed
I donât think itâs entirely unrealistic
Does indicate the whole "scout and see if can contact" was a cover for the mission though
I think destiny is operating on a >1000 year timeline not like 700
Nimbus indicated that Esi would have been old by the time that log was recorded
That's putting the timespan around a few decades
Bear in mind âshortly afterâ for the fallen could even be like a century
Which would explain warlords being established
wait, just to clarify
We also donât know how old Chioma was
do we have a ballpark of any of the aliens species' lifespans in d2?
besides 'really long'
Literally everyone but humans are immortal lol
For the hive as long as they kill and donât die
The cabal are very much not immortal
They literally just calcify into statues
Still talking millennia long lifespans still
Yes
Midnight coup happened few thousands years ago
Lol no it was not that long
Cabal Booklet says it was
i mean, exos can survive for god knows how long running on radiolaria, can't they? and they're made to be at least effectively immortal so i'd imagine the vex are the same
The exos are not, in fact, immortal
They have to be reset in order to preserve their brains and they start to degrade after about 20
Granted the resets themselves are unknown how long can go for
resource management must be an ordeal then đ maybe that's why most the alien species are expansionary
Ada-1 has been active since directly after the collapse (weeks to months) with no resets
didn't clovis advertise them as a way to effectively circumvent mortality, though?
'the solution to humanity's most crushing problem' or whatever he said in the dsc speech i forget
or well
Considering we have exos still active centuries after the collapse?
whatever his AI said
He made it happen lol
But yeah
We uncovered the mastermind behind Neomuna's conspiracy... Esi herself
listen, i'd love to ooh and aah at that, but i'm going to be completely honest here: i have NAWT been keeping up with the neomuna lore. who is esi again?
Ishtar researcher
she's a special case physically and mentally
But we got actually got a mimimum hard timeline estimate thanks to that little log
Stargazer was not the first Cloudstrider.. that was The Strider (Mikaela Julaha)
souped up custom frame with BA tech and she was also a child when uploaded
Chioma Esi was a member of an Ishtar research team in charge of studying Vex
We don't know stargazers exact position in the line.. but Cloudstriders lifespans means that Lakshmi-2 was thrown back to earth bare mimimum a decade after the Collapse
her team also consisted of Dr. Shim, Duane McNiadh, and her wife, Maya Sundaresh
i see i see
after they saved various sets of simulations of themselves from the Vex with Rasputin's help, Chioma would end up on Hyperion while Maya Sundaresh would be one of the founders of the Future War Cult on Earth (Tibet specifically I think)
then Chioma would end up on Neptune (maybe with the Exodus ship that Soteria was able to send out) where they discover the Veil while Maya would take the Exodus Indigo there
do you think neomuni are also filled with microplastics
microdiamonds probably
We know Cloudstriders are lol
i don't think a single city of, presumably, a couple million people on a gas giant would physically be able to output enough waste for it to biomagnify (is this a word???) into all of their food
people on earth may still be filled with microplastics, but with all the space magic stuff being thrown around, and whatever diseases the fallen and cabal and stuff might carry, i think there are far more concerning things to worry about entering their bodies
using a solar grenade to warm up in the winter and it immediately gives some innocent random non guardian human fatal radiation poisoning
Thinking on it..
Yeah.. all Neomuni must be cyborgs to some degree
Access to the Cloudark without needing to be in stasis
how do we know that golden age humans didnt like, solve the world's environmental issues, or something. maybe they made a giant beam to get rid of all the earth's microplastics. i dont think d2 gets into the boring stuff like that
Nah.. they haven't gotten into it
They haven't said how USA apparently turned into the North American Empire
Earth got pretty badly polluted
I think Antartica was gone even before the Collapse
aw
which is why people in-universe question if it ever existed in the first place
well they probably gave it a fair shake anyway. A for effort i guess
did nawt know this
let's see
before the Golden Age but after humanity learned of the Traveler (known as Moon X at this point), there was a riot between two opposing "Moon X" cults in New Orleans
The Rasmussen member (Helen or Helga?) Was working on exos with Clovis
The Panama Canal became a Ravine
Hawkesbury, Australia got flooded and became the Hawkesbury Sea
Don't forget generally implied lower water levels
a Rabbit Embryo is the reason the Awoken exist
The Gulf of California is a desert
doghives
As is the panama canal
Cosmodrome literally has dry docks and ships aground ingame
doghives
the first Guardian Mara Sov met was gameplay accurate
Gulf of mexico actually
mara's colony ship had people form an irl fanbase with fanart
For some reason I thought Oriskany was on the other side of mexico
and they left tips
so like, with the pollution thing, depending on how long the golden age lasted, would there even be enough fossil fuels to keep burning to further fuck stuff up. ive never thought about when we'll run out in real life but its probably somewhere within a century right
it was basically a cult
i mean i'm pretty sure we'd have just moved on from fossil fuels entirely
yea thats what i mean
Nah there's a lot left over, we are not burning through it that quickly
There is so much fossil fuel under the ground its pretty silly
This place is canonically a desert
aw
how did an entire section of ocean recede, exactly?
I dunno
someone said antarctica is gone. wouldnt that Raise water levels
Your dealing with earth being caught in the crossfire between two paracausal forces duking it out

Logic does Not Apply
For context IRL oriskany's flight deck sits about 145 feet (~44 meters) under the water
I'm interested in the timeline though
Thanks to this log it heavily implies London managed to survive for decades after the Collapse
i mean, survive is a strong word
i'm honestly just imagining something like how boston is presented in fo4
so like, to be clear, the last city being called the last city is referring to its scale, right? there are definitely other, at the very least, small settlements arent there
pretty fucked up, but the city still exists and it's still habitable
Yep
fallen burnt literally everything to the ground tho
Can literally see them ingame
i mean
yes
that's what city means
Antarctica is also canonically a desert
Go to the Farm and look over the river
or was
if the others are smaller then they're not cities
Can see few buildings with living inhabitants
it is in real life
yes, real life canon
210 feet of water where she sank, the ship being about 140 feet tall from keel to the top of the island
i guess
i'm so glad that they decided to put antarctica from destiny 2 in real life
very cool, bungie!
Antarctica isn't real in Destiny though
well, it WAS
at some point
probably
they retconned it into real life as a nod to destiny lore
its like how ronald reagan was retconned into real life upon the release of the hit lemon demon song, 'reaganomics', as a promotional stunt
Loved how we were given more lore about the traveler and winnower and the witness from a seasonal activity over an actual dlc mission.
Yeah..
The way they did this... sucks big time
Dues ex machina from Titan returning even
Did savathun have something to do with the sanctified mind?
no
Why were we sent to take out the sanctified mind?
The witness gave us that artifact right?
following the signal the artifact gave us
Why did the witness give us it
To fuck with us and try and manipulate us to join its side
Are we given a cutscene I missed somewhere? Because idk how tf we know where nezarec is? All I know of nezarec is his voiceline during vexnet strike about being pain and terror.
But what actually sends us to nezarecs pyramid?
Nezarec's pyramid is on the moon
the Pyramid in RoN is the Witness'
Called there for a few reason
namely it was the Pyramid of the Witness and it's best for us to search it
and Nez was giving us messages in Terminal Overload
How did we figure that out? (I swear I paid attention to shadowkeep)
I still gotta do that..
He's the Nightmare guy
The luna pyramid
has nightmares
his body was also found in the pyramid
Yeah, I fought the nightmares of ghaul, the trickster and one other.
In that pyramid
Ghaul, Fikrul and Crota
Ye
Ah, I didint play during plunder.
Alr sir, continue to shower me with your knowledge on why we must tango with another disciple of the witness.
(Nezarec chungus)
Investigation
We had 0 leads
We knew Nez was up there
orbiting Earth
So we searched it
turns out Nez was harnessing light and dark
and we may have ended up causing the planets to reappear based off the cutscene after
Does that mean. We might be able to play on Mercury, Titan, Io, Venus again?
Venus never disappeared
We actually go to Titan this season (albeit not as a destination)
There's missions, a dungeon etc there
âŚ.under the sea sadly.
Two activities
The activities take place on the surface
The dungeon starts in the arcology
I poayed hella during this season, kinda liked the surface betterâŚ
But yeah anyways
Io and Mercury may have shit happen though Titan had stuff with it beforehand
If the Vex are relevant we may return to the other two
Titan: already played it, maybe it comes back fully who knows
Mercury: TBD
Io: TBD
Venus was only ever in D1
As of current we have zero reason to go there
It was never taken
Just no reason to bother with it
Maybe next dungeon will be on the reappeared planet of IO or Mercury.
I doubt they'd do that again
Don't count on them returning
Neomuna and Europa still need dungeons
Titan had prior shit with Ahsa before it was taken
Im not so keen about Neomuna. But im all for a dungeon on europa.
Io and Mercury we don't have anything happening there aside from Vex stuff
^ also
Bring back the Old Leviathan???
that's Nessus
and that happened back in Haunted
Story beats for the immediate future have zero apparent connection to either destination
And yeah the Levi is already back
Yeah, bring it back to nessus or legends tab
If you go to the moon you can see it
Nawww not that levi.
What... but like, why
The golden Levii
Nah but that ones darker, and over come with egregor shit.
maybe it's the reprised raid but that'll be the last thing we ever get with it
Lemme return to the baths and soak in opulence.
shit encounter
Lemme pet the dogs again in gardens
For the moment
I mean. Could they bring back CoO if they bring back mercury?
I doubt they'll ever return the campaign
Not sure why you want that back
The strikes sure, if they bring it back
I enjoyed the strikes
But again
Realistically
Next season is Sav v Xivu
We don't know what's going on in season 23
currently Sav is the main goal
But Vex are all but explicitly confirmed to be post-final shape
Oh yeah, cuz Asha told us the answer was through cunning, and we all know whos the master of cunning. Savathun
Vex are the only possible justification for going to either of those planets
No she just told us Sav knows what's up
And even then I'd argue Neomuna offers more compelling justification
She literally said the Witch Queen must Rise
Like she straight up just said it
Neomuna still holds the key to defeating the Witness
Is her ghost still bing chilling?
And as for the Xivu portion, final lore tab of the season has the Witness telling Xivu to "show her your love" which in hive context is wage war
Sav? yep
Just hanging out on the throne world
Calling us nerd
You knoww
Immaru stuff
Bet, get her to res savathun.
I also think we have a higher chance of the Dreadnaught making an appearance over Mercury/Io seeing as Xivu was present there
Him and yes, that's presumably what we are doing
Btw after the defeat of the taken king, whos taking command of le dreadnaught
Right now Eris and Ikora and the Hidden (presumably) are getting things set up
We can't let this get out of hand
No one
Its a derelict
Still just vibing around saturn
As in, just floating for ever
can't be controlled
?
Anuk and Haluk died
Oryx is dead
we put down his dog
Xivu has been present there but that's all we get
What was his dog? Golgoroth?
Damn
Did Anuk or Haluk have any offspring?
Any new bosses from em?
That we may have killed already?
Nope
Oryx's entire lineage is dead
All of his children, all of Crota's many children
And Crota's grandchildren
What was one of crotas grandchildren
Yishra, Ayriax, and Ulg'Urin
We never fought any of them, but Osiris showed up and cooked them all
Who of crotas children have we fought?
Alongside Voshyr and Kinox, the ^ parents and the only two of Crota's children we didn't kill directly
Oryx's Children:
Ir Anuk & Ir Halak: killed by the Guardian
Nokris: killed by the Guardian
Alak Hul (adopted son): killed by the Guardian
Crota: killed by the Guardian
Omnigul (crota's wife, not oryx's but in here anyways): killed by the Guardian
Crota's Children:
Hashladun: killed by the Guardian
Besurith: killed by the Guardian
Voshyr: killed by Osiris
Kinox: killed by Osiris
Crota's grandchildren:
all 3 killed by Osiris
The Hive in the Pit are practicing Necromancy
Dayum, the lore guardian must be op as duck
Though the original use of the Pit below the Scarlet Keep was a Hive Crucible to make them stronger in the sword logic
Scarlet keep was hive crucible?
The Pit was originally if I am understanding Hive lore right
Zulmak was making a play for Crota's place and Crota's Daughters killed him. Then he was brought back as a nightmareish hybrid
Making a play? Hive knows theatrics?
âMaking a play for crotas placeâ zulmak wanted to take crotas throne?
Yes
Dam, thats not cool.
In the Sword Logic it's totally cool
Also why cant we send all the guardians to fight massive battles?
That no work gooder
We did that
Crota clapped our cheeks big time
Like thousands of guardians permadead
Including some big names
Who permadied?
One of the big names includes Wei Ning
You know, the Titan who punched a mountain and moved it
Name's on a lot of titan lore
Bet
Ikora is a hacker
Used two Nova bombs with very little time between
Also used Nova and then Chaos Reach
Eriana-3 wanted to avenge Wei Ning and joined the first fireteam to attempt to assault Crota, all of them died except for Eris Morn who escaped sans light
And sort of Toland
He became a little light ball
I guess Omar Agah isn't really dead either, he's a bug that now exists inside Xenophage
Omar is best gun
Did eriana become that little special handcannon?
No
Nope
Erians vow?
Oh
Aw. Welp rip
Who taught ikora?
Im guessing osiris
Cuz osiris used to be the warlock vanguard
And saint taught zavala,
Cuz saint used to be titan vanguard
Wat?
Damn.
But saint was titan vanguard right?
Yes.
Yes
And Commander, yes.
Zavala is older than the city is
So was Osiris though
Saint was Commander for about one day
I wanna learn about a more militant warlock, who was less researchy nerd warlock, but one who acted more fighty fighty
Is there anyone in the lore?
@trim grotto you got the felwinter explanation?
Just, in general?
Yeah
Felwinter.
Well I'm on mobile so give me a tick to write up some Felwinter stuff
Alrighty.
During the Golden Age, Rasputin created a custom AI from Rasputin's own code known as a SIDDHARTHA Golem. It was uploaded into an Exo Frame and was used to live amongst and research Humanity.
Then, the Collapse. The Golem died.
However, one day, along came a Ghost, who resurrected the Exo and named him Felwinter. He, in turn, named her Felspring, because he's an incredibly creative person.
That's right. Felwinter isn't human at all, unlike other Exo. He's purely AI and unique in that.
Felwinter didn't learn this for years, however.
For a long time Felwinter ran and hid from Rasputin, who had detected his activation and tried to hunt Felwinter down. His "son" was "stolen" by the Light, and in his tyrany, he felt envy and rage. Plus, it was a massive operational security risk, as Felwinter could access Rasputin's old bunkers.
Eventually, Felwinter settled upon what he dubbed Felwinter Peak. Again, very creative man. Some time after that he was convinced to join the Iron Lords, which gave him drive and purpose in life.
Ooh, this must be the part where he meets a cool dude names saladin
However, Felwinter was very strict in his personal moral code. Very pointed, even militant.
When he discovered that Lord Dryden of the Iron Lords used a village as collateral damage in an ambush, he grabbed his Iron Banner equipment, racked his shotgun, and went on a manhunt.
Felwinter broke the Iron Code semi-regularly for that which he deemed as special cases.
The Dark Horse of the Iron Lords.
Iron Code, for reference, meaning no killing Ghosts
Iron Decree, that is. My mistake.
(among other things but this is the relevant portion for felwinter)
Also side fact when he joined the Iron Lords he already had a damaged warlord ghost embedded in the back of his helmet which they asked him to remove but he never did
You can see it on Felwinter's Helm in game
It's still sort of alive.
He also got decapitated by Lord Shaxx one time
A backhanded strike so powerful it tore off his head
Damn
Anyways, Siva/iron lord time?
He sounded cool.
How did he die permanently tho
Did he?
We'll get to that
Alr
Also part of why there's only 2 iron lords left, Lady Efrideet and Lord Saladin
The Ironsbane. That which killed off everyone else, just about.
See, Felwinter was digging through old Rasputin bunkers, when he discovered something. A reference to an old technology, a colony construction tool of the Golden Age.
Something that could be returned to Humanity, to build anew. A new city. Maybe more.
So Felwinter and the Iron Lords gathered together, hundreds strong, and approached Site 6. Home of the SIVA Replication Complex.
Woahh did felwinter contribute to the construction of the last city?
Sort of. By this time the City was built but it was no fortress.
The discovery, as it turns out, was a trap. A lure by Rasputin to trick Felwinter into Rasputin's trap.
This was the Ironsbane. Automated defences and weaponised SIVA slaughtered every single Iron Lord except for Lord Saladin (and Efrideet, who was not there), all to get to Felwinter.
Which, indeed, it did.
Nuuuuuuuu
Site 6 was sealed until the Rise of Iron DLC where the Fallen got access to it and used it to enhance themselves
I wondered where he got that
In the final mission of the campaign we enter the replication chamber to destroy it
Eventually, we ourselves entered, and fought the SIVA infected corpse of Felwinter. Putting him down for good.
Rasputin, in the end, regretted his actions.
Or what was left of them
Were these ironlords?
Yes
Some of the hundreds that were killed in the Ironsbane
I cannot stress this enough
There were at least 100 iron lords and ladies and wolves who went into Site 6
1 escaped and 1 wasn't there to begin with
All but 3 Iron Lords are dead
2 at the time, since then we are the Young Wolfâ˘ď¸
Thats fair
Technically the third iron lord/lady
Im being a goober
Oh yeah by d2 are we âTheâ Guardian, an iron lord?
Bungie has finally fixed the Felwinter`s Lie.
The quest ends with a cutscene and obviously getting the shotgun.
The Guardians grab their loot from the Seraph chest. (Week Four)
**
Osiris: Rasputin. Do you still keep Felwinter's remains interred here?
Rasputin: Yes. Do you require access?
Osiris: No! You slaughtered Felwinter and other Iron Lords without so much as a second thought. Why memorialize him?
Rasputin: Felwinter was my son. I was ill equi...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jop2dgE2TXw @pine lion you can see the last stand inside the replication chamber

The Dark Below DLC Review:...
Watch Discus's video, then mine, in order.
Technically, yes.
when did ironsbane happen compared to when d1 happens
Ironsbane? Between Six Fronts and Twilight Gap. Decades to centuries ago.
right
Hasn't been word from Efrideet from a while either..
Nope, she's off in her little pacifist guardian colony
she just chilling
Which btw would have been a perfect place for Lightfall
If you mention the name felwinter, what do you think saladin would do or say to u
Honestly? I consider Efrideet and her pacifists dead
idk on that
No reaction to Saladin joining the Cabal?
No reason for them to know
They aren't in contact with anyone
do you think she cares?
Cut off, just like neomuna
But he did get placed pretty high, i mean hes on the war council, prob makin that 6 Figure Cabal Boon Salary
Efrideet only showed up in Red War because everyone lost their light so she ran off to the city to figure out what was going on
Efrideet a coward fr fr, Devrim kay is more courageous
Yeah
Like said I figure that pacifist colony was one of the first causalities when Pyramids showed
The Pyramids didn't fuck with much when they showed up
They stole a few planets
But no indication Efrideet was on any of them
Have to be extremely delusional to think pacifism be a proper response now lol
we would know if she had been on a pyramid planet as she probably woulda left it
"Just causally stole Mars and Mercury. No problem lol"
Fr I think a Shadow Legion Incindior should âfirefightâ her camp.
she might be a pacifist, but she still knows how to and presumably would fight if her camp came in danger
Actually not everyone: IX are bing chilling in eternity just vibing away in xurs treasure horde
I hope my boy xur aint in danger
đ
what? she isnt in direct danger tho. the pyramids arent going planet to planet and i doubt the shadow legion are gonna find them
^
Think Efrideet would notice the light being screwy after lightfall per our ghosts comments lol
Light isn't interfered with, as far as they are concerned nothing's going on
Function of the light, that is
The presence of the traveler isn't felt but if they are really far away no telling if that presence was noticeable to begin with
its not that screwy tho compared to straight up loosing it
Aye
Anyway. Still extremely delusional to have fought the Hive-Fallen for years and come to the conclusion Pacifism is the way to go heh
Hey, in thay cutscene before the witness opened a triangle in our traveler, did our guardian fr hesitated cuz he knew if he shot the ghost he would be lightless. Is that why he hesitated?
Don't forget ghosts are the closest relationships guardians have
our ghost is a good friend of course we hesitated
Would you shoot your best friend that you've had for almost 10 years
The thing that brought us back from the dead
The only reason we aren't very, very dead again
Small price to pay to save the universe đ
jf anything where was that fucking speed on aiming against immaru
Well
probably not
The Witness would have shown up and done it itself I imagine
Aw
the witness aint just gonna give up because plan A and plan B failed
Honestly we may have been in deeper shit if we killed ghost
Witness made 1 radial mast
Possible they can create another
Rip Rohan, became a fuckin bomb
the vanguard/hidden would go investigate and that could probably end up creating a link
Why tf is there only two cloud striders at a time?????
But why only 2
Plus good enough
cause they only need 2, this has been established
Why not three or four
Cloudstriderâs are a very
well they only needed 2, now they have guardian help
Horrible experience
But in a time of occupation or mass danger like right fucking now cuz of big threat called âWitnessâ they would need more
Ntm at the time the Vex were the only threat
You canât just create Cloudstriderâs in a day
cloud striders take time to train
And convert
indoctrinate*
Arent there peeps who aspire to become cloudstriders chillin in the cloud ark?
And they only have a limited lifespan
Wait can you get out of the cloudark?
Doesnât mean you can just give them modifications Willy nilly
yes
also we literally showed up minutes after they got invaded and dealt with shit
Maelstrom tried making an entire school for training potential cloudstriders, didn't end well
Das true, actually how long story wise did it take from us crash landing onto neptune, to killing calus and ending lightfall?
A day
Like all campaigns
they dont normally live in the cloud ark time
Red War went over months
Cuz we had to venture to all the fuckin planets
Red War is always the exception
Except in average campaign quality
Even though Iâd say it was below average even for the time
How long was forsaken?
Depends what we count as part of Forsakenâs story
pedantics dova. you say indoctrinate, i say train, same shit different day
Forsaken had a campaign
Ik damn well we probably couldnât take out 7-8 Strong scorns mean while trying to track em down, cuz they scattered when they killed cayde cuz they knew they fucked up
In a single day
But the main story was more what happened after the story
Spider tracked the barons down
Also they werenât strong compared to the usual threat
spider had a strong network and would have info on the next wbeb we returned to him
Just big Eliksni
Chunky health tho.
God no it wasnât
Felt like the black market mafia godfather kinda fella.
barons were a pushover
Compared to many threats weâve faced before and after the barons were nothing
Fuckin hated the trickster
thats because basically is
Fikrul was the only one that posed a threat
Dawg put needles in his servitors to mark em as his
Think of it as a strike
Fikrul is the boss
The barons were yellow bars on the way to him
I absolutely loved the prison of elders strike. (Rip cayde.)
rip mba my beloved
Encompassing all of Forsaken
He did thay by winning a fight
The story was like 4 and a half weeks
Week and a half was the campaign till we slew Riven
Then the cycle began
After 3 weeks we killed Dul Incaru
as in meatball riven or riven riven?
"Killed"
6 figure herealway piece fallen salary
Bro could buy the brachus title ong
Bracus
Riven Riven
we still killed her even if she keeps coming back
She doesn't.
Riven was a 1 time event
That isn't how the Cabal operate
Dul Incaru returns though yes
no marl dul not riven
Last wish riven?
Yee
Ik, i mean..wealth did correlate to power in the roman empire/republic.
They aren't a 1 to 1 clone
And some iconography/themes
In fairness many empire share Roman Empire themes
We got Emperor, Empress, Dominus, and now we got..Vals?
Is a val a valus or two different names
Dominus is Emperor but "different"
Different things
vals are vals and a valus is a valus
Valus Taâaurc
Val Caâour
Caâour was the successor to ghaul?
Successor is a bit much
The one we kill in spire of stars
He was just a guy trying to fill a power vacuum.
He kinda just took control of part of the legion and led an assault against the Leviathan
In a really boring raid
its like the new bracus zahn, just tryna fill that gap
Whos that new Val Calus put in charge that we kill in the lightfall missionâŚâOn the Vergeâ? I think
The mission where Rohan becomes bomb
I think that was just a random general
I wonder if there are any straggling Loyalists on the levi. but if they were loyalists, they would be loyal and follow their emeperor that their loyal to into the shadow realm
All loyalists became Shadow Legion from what we know of
Byf needs to do another video like the Dead Messenger one
no
yes, its called training locks how to nova bomb
Why is darkness brown or dark orangish?
why is light pale or light bluish
What is the meaning of life
I was just curious if it's just a design choice or if it has some meaning
Generally âgoodâ and âevilâ are characterized and associated with light and dark colours, usually red and blue, but in the case of destiny, dark orange and light blue or white. Or even yellow can be associated with evil as well. Honestly I think itâs more a dark goldish yellow if Iâm being honest instead of orange
Yeah, it's a hard color to describe lol
Solar and arc make sense but why is void purple
Because I dare you to think up a more fitting color for gravity/dark matter/whatever that isn't boring drab grey
That's worse than grey because of the Darkness lmao
Haha, very true
For Solar and Arc and Stasis it makes sense but when you get into the weeds with stuff like Void and Strand you really just kinda gotta do whatever lol
Yeah, void in all games is pretty much all purple
Or not games specifically but just representations of void
And strand well, idk, green cuz it's not orange, blue, purple, or aqua
warframe
actually now that i think of it warframe's void is closer to destiny's strand
but with bonus timey wimey powers and eternalism
Warframe is the only other game I can think of where Void is a THING in the sense of being energy or a power
true
hollow knight
except warframe's void isn't all-encompassing âď¸ đ¤
Was briar both a cloudstrider and an acolyte of nezerac?
it's kind of the opposite
not really anywhere
Question what happened to the pyramid ships on the planets?
Did they go with the witness or did they go down
were the ships not involved in actually moving the planets and moons?
Idk
Iâm confused
If they went with the witness or not
Because we donât see one on titan
We do see the one on Mars
Not really clear tbh
It's definitely possible
I'd argue probable ngl
Which is sad because that was definitely a huge skybox opportunity to have that while you are in the deep dive air bubbles
maybe the titan one went doing other pyramid things
Because it was active while titan poofed away for some time
Each pyramid ship is interesting to see
it's weird to know that all those ships were originally meant to be the mode of transportation for an entire society. i wonder if they all still have their original control systems intact (since i imagine anyway that a vessel of that size is meant to be piloted by multiple people, and probably has some kind of control center) and the witness just controls them autonomously somehow, or if they're just dead ships that are being completely puppeteered by the witness
They been altered into paracausal entities into themselves
Ghost confirmed that at first mission in Arrivals
Darkness has been integrated into technology much more then the Light has
It's ironic because the Light is supposed to be the "psychical" element
Alive:
Direct comparison to traveler
Potentially has the Veil Statue as the "helm"
Every one we been in had those things at the "center"
(Far as can tell)
Is each ship piloted by an individual disciple?
strand being green is quite literally just because bungie thought they were high iq by making all the darkness subclasses inverses of the light
ok?
is this supposed to be somehow a gotcha at bungie or something lol
no i was just reading the lore discussion up to as to why starnd is green makes no sense
your making a smart creative decision sound like something bad
strand can be whatever bungie decides
for all we care strand could have been red
or something
strand being green makes sense though cause of symbolism
ever been in a jungle or forest type biome
everything is connected by trees
or vines
and starnd somewhat symbolises a collective
like this forest or jungle
i think the actual symbolism comes from it being the opposite of void
